LEWISTON - Lewis E. Beaulieu, 48, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 4 at Central Maine Medical Center.He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 12, 1956, the son of Lawrence and Simonne (Lessard) Beaulieu.He enjoyed swimming, bowling, and skiing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.He is survived by two sisters, Heidi and her husband, Christopher Lemieux, of Lewiston, and Tina and her husband, Paul Hersberger, of Scarborough; four brothers, Denis and his wife, Diane, Marc and his wife, Linda, Scott Beaulieu, all of Lewiston, and Donald and his wife, Della, of Turner; caring nieces and nephews; his close friends, Mike and Jen; and a special friend, Mikkie. He will be sadly missed.He was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters.

JOSEPH “ANDY“ BESSETTE -- WINOOSKI — Joseph “Andy“ Bessette, 67, a longtime resident of Winooski died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington following a short illness. Andy was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on March 12, 1937, the son of the late Frank and Ida (Poitras) Bessette. He was educated through the Winooski School System and served for the U.S. Air Force. He was married to Ruth Miller Bessette, who predeceased him in August, 2003. Andy was employed for many years with the Yellow Cab Company, and as a truckdriver and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed fishing, pool and bowling. Andy is survived by three children, Wonda Bessette of Deepriver, Conn., Andy Bessette of Enosburg, and Steven Bessette of Milton; five grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; one brother, Milford Bessette and wife Sharon of Georgia, Vt.; 13 stepchildren; 26 stepgrandchildren; 24 stepgreat-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. in the LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski.

OAK HARBOR, MASS. - Germaine Paradis, 72, of Oak Harbor and formerly of Danvers, Mass., died Friday, Feb. 4, at her residence.She was born Jan. 9, 1933, to the late Frank E. and Leonie A. (Sotereou) Bilodeau in Lewiston. She was a high school graduate.On July 25, 1953, she married Roland R. Paradis, who preceded her in death on July 3, 1998. She retired from the Danvers School System as the Director of the School Lunch Program. She was a member of St. Mary's Enunciation Church in Danvers, Mass. She enjoyed gardening and being a member of the "Y" in her hometown where she liked to swim.Survivors include son, Daniel Paradis of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Debbie (Jean) Beaulieu of LaGrange, Ga., Cece (Steve) Henry of Oak Harbor, Ohio; sisters, Lorraine Combs of West Columbia, S.C., and Constance Lessard of Old Orchard; grandchildren, Joe and Kim Beaulieu, Cherie Zurawski, Amanda and Kristen Henry, and Christian Paradis; and great- grandchildren, Jared Beaulieu, Grace and Karlee Zurawski.

DUNKINSON, James Douglas Passed away at the Kingston General Hospital on February 5, 2005. Jim is predeceased by his wife Naomi (Greenwood), his parents Frank and Ella (Bell), his brother Frank (Lena) and sister Janet (Ernest Harpell). He leaves his brother Robert (Sheila) and many nephews and nieces. Jim retired from the Commissionaire Service 7 years ago. He was a founding member of the Rob Roy Pipe Band, an active member of Branch 560 Legion and the RCHA Brigade Assoc. According to Jim's wish es, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. Interment will take place at the Cataraqui Cemetery. A "Celebration of Life" for friends and relatives will be held at Jim's home at a later date. He was a proud world War II Navy veteran, having served in 13 South Pacific Naval Battles and received a Bronze Medal and 3 Silver Stars. Ernie retired from the vending sales and repair business and was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. He leaves his wife Barbara (Howard) La Pierre, one son, Jesse La Pierre of Las Vegas, NV; 2 grandsons Colin and Stephen and several nieces and nephews. Doris I. Paradis -- August 15, 1921 - February 5, 2005 -- NORWICH- Doris I. Paradis, 83, of 51 Nashua St. died Saturday morning at the Avalon Health Center in Mystic. She was born in Norwich on August 15, 1921 the daughter of the late Wilfred and Regina (Clocher) Labrecque. Doris was employed for 27 years as a Psychiatric Aide at the former Norwich Hospital in Preston, retiring in 1983. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Taftville. Doris was a member of the Sprague Smilers and the AARP. Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Paradis of Taftville. Three daughters, Leona Driscoll of Uncasville, Anne Marie Renaldi and Geraldine Paradis both of Norwich. Two sisters, Rita Zglobis of Lisbon and Jeanne Cote of Norwich. Seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Deo and Albert Labrecque. Visitation at the Guillot Funeral Home 75 So. WESTFORD -- Donat Joseph Milot, 97, died yesterday, Feb. 6, at Genesis Westford House. He was the husband of Fernande (Boucher) Milot, who died March 3, 1999., He was born in St. Thomas de Caxton, Canada, on Oct. 16, 1907, son of the late Noe Milot and Marie Alice (Bouchard) Milot. He became a U.S. citizen on Aug. 8, 1939.Mr. Milot worked as a heating engineer for the Abbot Worsted Co. and Murray Printing Co., both formerly of Westford.He was a past president of the Franco American Club in the Forge Village section of Westford.His survivors include a daughter, Elaine Williams of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Loretta Milot of Billerica, and Paul and Pat Milot of Nashua; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. WATERFORD - Helen M. McNamee, 88, of Van Schoonhoven Apartments and a former Lansingburgh resident, died on February 5, 2005, after a long illness.Born in Mechanicville, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Purtle Monty and the widow of James J. McNamee.Mrs. McNamee was educated in Mechanicville. She was retired from the John L. Thompson Co. in Troy, where she was a secretary.Survivors include her sister, Catherine Griswold of Waterford, and her brother, Thomas Monty of Schenectady. Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Landry, Willie Belle Smith "Bill" A retired employee of the Louisiana Office of Highways and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died at noon Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at her home. NEW BEDFORD -- Yvonne E. (Touchette) Tripp, 90, of New Bedford died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Sacred Heart Nursing Home, after a long illness. She was the widow of Malcolm E. Tripp, and daughter of the late Hermes and Rosalie (Arseneau) Touchette. A lifelong resident of New Bedford, Mrs. Tripp was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. Tripp was employed at the Morse Twist Drill as a clerical worker, until her retirement. She was a member of the Sacred Heart-Holy Name Senior Citizens and St. John the Baptist Senior Citizens. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Eugene Touchette, Blanche Touchette and Hermes F. Touchette. Her funeral will be from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., at 8 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Martin, Laurette LA FAMILLE MARTIN a le regret de vous faire part du décès de LAURETTE MARTIN (née Larcher) décédée paisiblement, à l'âge de 85 ans. Elle était l'épouse de feu Alphée Martin et la fille de feu John Larcher et de feu Augustina Rondeau. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses 4 enfants: Huguette (Raymond Leguerrier), Raymond, Robert et Suzanne (George Bouterakos). Elle laisse 14 petits-enfants, 19 arrière-petits-enfants et 3 arrière-arrière-petits-enfants. Elle laisse ses soeurs: Annette (feu P.-É. Potvin) et Thérèse (Arthur Routhier); ses frères: Marcel (feu Rita Rice) et Raymond (Theresa Coody). Elle fut prédécédée par ses soeurs: Emilia et Jeannette ainsi que ses frères: Émile et Émilien. Elle laisse plusieurs belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces et ami(e)s. La famille tient à remercier le personnel du 5e étage du CHVO de Gatineau pour les bons soins prodigués. Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Fondation des maladies du coeur seraient appréciés. Il n'y aura pas de visites au salon funéraire. Le service religieux aura lieu en l'église St-Jean-Marie Vianney au 160, Bruchési à Gatineau, le mercredi 9 février 2005 à 11h. La famille acceptera les condoléances à l'église à compter de 10h30. FITCHBURG -- Florence Rita Laventure, 84, of The Bella Vista Apartments, John Fitch Highway, died Thursday evening, Feb. 3, in her home. She was born on Nov. 6, 1920, in Rollinsford, N.H., the daughter of Edward C. and Marie Clara (Mailhot) Laventure, and lived in Fitchburg all her life. She was a 1939 graduate of Fitchburg High School.Ms. Laventure worked for 40 years for the former General Electric Co. in Fitchburg. At the time of her retirement in January 1983 she was a secretary in the Engineering Department. She was a member of the General Electric Quarter Century Club. She was a life member of Immaculate Conception Church.Ms. Laventure leaves two step-nieces, Mrs. Marguerite Emerson of Rochester, N.H., and Irene Clifford of Nashua, N.H.; one step-grandniece; three step-grandnephews; one step-great-grandniece; and many cousins. She also leaves her caregiver, Marylis A. Bramante of Sterling; and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents and a stepbrother, Joseph Gagnon of Rochester, N.H.LAVENTURE -- On Feb. 3, Florence Rita Laventure, 84, of Fitchburg. The funeral will be held Thursday morning from Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 58 Walnut St., Fitchburg. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, off of St. Bernards Street, Fitchburg. MELROSE -- Dr. Paul O. LaBelle Jr., 74, of Derry, N.H., died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Melrose Wakefield Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Jean (Mello) LaBelle of Dartmouth. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Paul O. and Verna (Fitzgerald) LaBelle, he lived in New Hampshire for 25 years and in Dartmouth for most of his life. He had been a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth. Mr. Labelle, following in the footsteps of family members who worked in the field of eyecare, had been an optometrist with practices in Dartmouth and Nantucket. He graduated from New Bedford High School, Cambridge College, Massachusetts College of Optometry and Philadelphia Optical College. He had taught classes in ophthalmic theory and geometric and mechanical optics at Opticians' School of Framingham. Dr. LaBelle was well-known in civic, philanthropic and educational circles. He has been recognized for encouraging young people to pursue education. He helped many high school athletes gain acceptance to prep schools and colleges. He was former director of the Moby Dick Boy Scout Council; past president of the New Bedford Lions Club; and trustee of SMIT and the Board of United Fund, Professional Division. Dr. LaBelle played piano Saturday afternoons on WBSM-AM radio. He enjoyed hunting and saltwater fishing. He had a small working farm during the 1960s and 1970s. Survivors include his widow; a son, Paul M. LaBelle, and his wife, Marcia, of Dartmouth; a daughter, Elizabeth A. LaBelle of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Jeanne Sweeney of Virginia; and two grandchildren. His memorial Mass will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Julie Billiart Church, Slocum Road, Dartmouth. Arrangements are by South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St., Fall River.

DIABO, George (Katsienhakeron). (1921-2005) At Kahnawake on February 5, 2005 after a long illness, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at the age of eighty-three. Mrs. Thelma V. Christie May 14, 1915 - February 05, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home CHRISTIE, Thelma V. - 89, died in Amherst on February 5, 2005. Born May 24, 1915, she was a daughter of Jonathan L. Grose and Edith Louise Grose. At a young age she moved with her mother and stepfather Waldo Hartsook to Eston,Saskatchewan. After completing her public school education in Eston, she trained as a nurse at the Toronto General Hospital. Upon receiving her R.N. she worked as a nurse in a mission hospital in Twillingate, NL. In 1939 she enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy as a nursing sister and was stationed at Cornwallis, North Sydney and Halifax. In 1945, following her discharge from the Canadian Navy, she married Charles B. Christie and they moved to Amherst. Thelma was an active member of her community. She was involved with the Highland View Hospital Auxiliary, and a former member of the Amherst Golf Club and the Amherst Curling Club. Thelma is survived by her sons, David H. Christie, Amherst; Paul S. Christie, Halifax; grandchildren, Julie,Allison, Alex and Maeghan; her brother, Gerald O.Hartsook; her sister, Hazel Thompson, both of Eston, Sask. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, and a brother, Cecil W. Hartsook. There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst on Wednesday, February 9, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
