Il demeurait à Val-d’Amour. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Juliette; ses enfants: Gérard Bouchard (Dewi), Marjolaine Lepage (Clairmont), Mireille Goguen (Yvon), Carmelle Bouchard (Jean-Louis), Bernise Bernard (Réal), Denise Fournier (Martin) et Guylaine Babin (Patrice), ainsi que ses 12 petits-enfants et ses sept arrière-petits-enfants. Il laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs frères, soeurs, beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces et amis. Il a rejoint son fils, Mario, dans la tombe. Anna Bastarache - À l’Hôpital Stella-Maris-de-Kent de Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, le mardi 10 novembre 2009, à l’âge de 93 ans, est décédée après une courte maladie Anna Bastarache, épouse de feu Simon Bastarache (1985). Elle demeurait à Saint-Maurice-de-Kent. Née à Sainte-Marie-de-Kent le 10 janvier 1916, elle était la fille de feu Frederick et de feu Elise (Léger) LeBlanc. Anna laisse dans le deuil ses quatre enfants: Annette LeBlanc de Las Vagas, Jeannine Landry (Normand) et Dale, tous deux de Meriden, Conn. et Léo-Paul (Ethel) de Waltham, Mass.; cinq petits-enfants: Lisa, Tina, Nancy, Dennis et Darren; deux arrière-petits-enfants: Sarah et Meghan; cinq soeurs: Irène Cormier, Imelda Cormier et Cécile Bastarache, toutes de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Aline Cormier de Bouctouche et Jeanne Bastarache de Saint-Maurice-de-Kent; deux frères: Ulysse (Stella) de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent et Normand (Iona) de Saint-Paul, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Deux frères: Edgar et Eric, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. Les visites auront lieu à compter de 14h, le dimanche 15 novembre, à la salle mortuaire de l’église de Sainte-Anne-de-Kent. Paul Landry - Paul Landry, de La Hêtrière, est décédé subitement à Taylor Village, à l’âge de 65 ans. Né le 14 octobre 1944 à Moncton, il était le fils de feu Thomas Landry et Florence (Cormier) Landry. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Stella-Marie (LeBlanc); une fille, Charline (Serge) Cormier du Vieux Shédiac Road; un fils, Daniel Landry de Toronto; six soeurs: Jeannette Landry et Simonne (Rick) MacGillivray, toutes deux de Moncton, Rachel (Paul) Trott de T.-N.-L., Lucille (Keith) MacDonald de Dorchester, Marcia (Richard) Bourque de Sackville et Alva (Mike) Morrison de Memramcook; cinq frères: Jean (Janita) de Dieppe, Donald de Memramcook, Robert de Dieppe, Tommy de Moncton et Louis (Diane) de Dieppe; une petite-fille, Milaine, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Plus jeune, il a été enseignant à l’école Abbey-Landry (l’École régionale) pour devenir propriétaire du magasin War Surplus de Memramcook. Il était membre du Club de l’âge d’or de Memramcook. GOPAL SINGH BARIANA (June 5, 1941 - November 8, 2009) With the same tenacious courage and quiet dignity with which he lived his life, Dr. Gopal Bariana completed his life journey on Sunday, November 8, 2009. He is survived by his wife April and his loving children Simran, Sam and Chere. He absolutely lived for them. He was blessed to enjoy their journey into adulthood, knowing he was instrumental in guiding their lives. Gopal was born in Nangal Isher, Punjab, India to an engineer father, Hukum Singh and Channan Kour. His family members were landowners/ farmers, physicians and soldiers. He possessed a sharp wit and intellect, high morals and ethics and a passionate love of nature and animals. Gopal was a true and loyal friend, a steadfast and compassionate parent and a consummate professional. He possessed a generous and uplifting spirit and he cherished his friendships. He studied medicine in In dia (Bombay: BDS and MDS), Canada (University of Toronto 1973, DDS), the USA (Lancaster Cleft Palate Institute in Pennsylvania) and completed a fellowship in clinical studies at Sick Children's Hospital. Then he practiced dental surgery in Brampton for 25 years, until a stroke in 1998 forced him to retire. Now, he has found everlasting peace in God's hands. He will ever be fondly remembered by his family, NIMDAC friends, neighbours, patients, medical co-workers and colleagues. QUINN, Eileen 'Chic' - It is with the deepest sorrow that the Quinn family announces the passing of Eileen 'Chic' Quinn, 98, of Toronto, who died peacefully in the presence of her loving children on November 13, 2009. Eileen was born on May 14, 1911 in Bracebridge, Ontario to Timothy and Mary Kelly and was the youngest of 11 children. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1932 from St. Michael's Hospital and practiced for many years. In 1945, she married her loving husband Gerald Quinn who predeceased her in 1994. She is survived by her children: Paul Quinn and his wife Barbara and their children Steven, Mark and Tim; Diane Quinn and her husband Peter and Diane's children Michael and Christopher; Marg Anne Quinn and her partner Harvey and Marg Anne's children Samantha and Natalie; Peter Quinn and his partner Catherine; Michael and his wife Suzanne and their children Paul, Marc and Emilie. Her ten great-grandchildren, her best friends Marianna and Liz, and her beloved dog Knuik will miss her dearly. Of special note is the devotion of Michael and Suzanne who lived and cared for Eileen in her home in her final years. Eileen was a loving mother, aunt, friend, neighbour, accomplished pianist and painter. DR. MICHAEL EDWARD WARD MD, FRCP, PhD With love and sadness the family of Dr. Michael Ward (April 17, 1956), wishes to announce his passing on the eleventh of November, 2009. Cherished husband of Suzanne (Manning); beloved father of Susannah, Andrew, Emily and Charlotte; kick-a** brother of Maureen (Brian, Jessie, Liam), Joel and Jim; partner-in-crime, longtime friend to Barry Mason, and valued member of the extended Manning family. Michael graduated from Queen's School of Medicine in 1981 and completed residency programs in Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto in Respirology and Intensive Care Medicine at McGill University. He also obtained his PhD in Experimental Medicine from McGill University. As a clinician-scientist, Michael worked for many years as a critical care physician at the Royal Victoria Hospital and as research scientist at the Meakins-Christie Laboratories in Montreal. In 1999 the Wards moved to Toronto where Michael was appointed Research Director in Respirology at St. Michael's Hospital, where he also worked as a critical care physician. While Michael's contributions to the scientific community are many, he will be equally remembered for his wit, humour and compassion, as well as his zest for life even after a lengthy battle with cancer. He loved nature, he was a guitar player and avid sailor, but above all he was a devoted father, loyal friend and brother, and loving husband. Michael's family would like to extend its gratitude for all the concern and caring of his colleagues at St. Michael's hospital, and in particular the support of Dr. Robert Hyland throughout his illness. Beloved mother of Rosemary Elliott (Malcolm) of the UK, Carol Evans of New Zealand, Susan Zanata (Norbert) of Pefferlaw and Carla Kennedy (late Bruce) of Markham. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and especially Dallas and Kaylee Kennedy along with her many friends. Predeceased by her granddaughter Ally Kennedy. Cremation has taken place. ZINN, Dr. William John - R.C.A.F. (1943--1945), D.D.S. (University of Toronto -- 1951) Dr. William J. Zinn, of Waterloo and formerly of Hanover, Ontario, passed away at his home after a lengthy illness on November 12, 2009 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the former Doris Knechtel. Dear father of John of Toronto and Margaret and her husband Wayne Button of Whitby, and grandfather of John and Brian. Survived by his sister-in-law Deloris Knechtel of London. Predeceased by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. S.H. Zinn. Bill practised dentistry in Hanover for 31 years. He was a past trustee of the Hanover District High School Board, Church elder of Grace United Church, member of the Hanover Legion and life member of the Hanover Kinsmen Club. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place at a later date in Hanover. VICAS, Angela Madame Angela Vicas, décédée à Calgary, le 11 novembre 2009, née Angela Paula Hagi Panteli Opresco à Bucarest en 1920. Elle quitta son pays d'origine pour étudier en Allemagne et en France, où elle épousa le docteur Emile Vicas et d'où elle émigra au Canada après la Seconde Guerre. Elle vécut pendant plus de cinquante ans à Montréal, ville qu'elle adopta avec enthousiasme et qu'elle partageait avec la région du Lac Champlain, lieu de prédilection particulière. Parmi sa famille immédiate, elle a été précédée par son époux, le docteur Emile Vicas et son fils, Robert. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses filles, le docteur Ingrid Vicas et Astrid Monique Vicas, son gendre, le docteur Robert Johnston, et ses petits-enfants, Victoria et Burnett Johnston, dont elle était très rapprochée. Nous préservons avec tendresse le souvenir de sa grâce personnelle et, avec grande reconnaissance, la mémoire de sa bonté et générosité exemplaires.
