Mrs. Elizabeth Mary Dickson April 2, 1915 - March 13, 2009 Born in Sheppardton (Ashfield Township) Ontario. Passed away peacefully, on March 13, 2009 at the Tall Pines Long term Care Centre in Brampton at the age of 93. Loving mother of Kenneth of Ingersoll, Fred and his wife Bernadette of Brampton and the late Jeannette (2001). Devoted Nanny of eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mary was a devoted Avon Lady for 40 years in Toronto. The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Earle and the Staff at Tall Pines for their care and support. GILLSON, Denis Robert Passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the age of eighty-seven at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, after a brave and dignified struggle against medical complications. The son of the late Dr. Albert Gillson and Mrs. Olive Gillson, Denis is survived by his beloved daughter, Ruth, granddaughter Sara, son-in-law Henry and his partner and companion of twenty-eight years, Francis Balogh. He is survived by his wife, Jane of forty-eight years; his six children: Jannette (Don) Nauta of Calgary, AB, Clarence (Trish) of Alix, AB, Bea (Pete) Vlieg of Leduc, AB, Winny (Dave) Bolink of Victoria, BC, William (Angela) of Waterdown, ON; Kevin (Val) of Edmonton, AB; twenty-five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and one sister. Bill was born in Almen, Netherlands on April 13, 1937. He loved taking pictures of God's creation when he was traveling, hiking, camping, sailing, or skiing. He loved his time spent with family and friends. He devoted much of his time to church, Christian Schools and many Christian ministries. Hank enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Bingo was always fun for him. His greatest joy was spending time with his family especially being able to spoil his nieces and nephews. SMITH, Elva Catherine - passed away from natural causes at the Coleman Care Coleman Centre on 15 March 2009. Elva was the wife of Robert B. Smith (deceased 1997) and best friend of James F. Mogan. She is survived by her one brother Leonard Cook (Lenore) and their three daughters Paula Field, Susan Cook and Cathy Cook, all of Comox B.C. Elva's special talent as a Social Worker touched many lives in the community with her ability to counsel in many different fields. She was also a talented card player, especially Bridge where she honestly earned the name “Three No-Trump“. Cremation has already taken place. WHITE, Marilyn Louise (nee Fraser) - Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital with her husband and daughter by her side, on Sunday March 15th, 2009 at the age of 58 years. Loving wife to Wayne and grateful for everything he did for her; wonderful mother to Scott of New Westminister, BC and Shannon; mother-in- law to Ryan Curley of Brantford; daughter of the late Murray & Elsie Fraser (nee Lohnes) of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia; sister to Gerald (Jean) Fraser, Joan Stebbe, Richard (Marylou) Fraser, Linda and the late Ralph Rodgers, the late Gary Fraser (March 9, 2009), and Murray Fraser Jr. Marilyn struggled and coped with Multiple Sclerosis for many years. She was an extremely strong and courageous woman who loved reading, travelling, and caring for her plants and animals. ALLAN, David - Passed away tragically at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 4, 2009 at the age of 44. Since July 2008, he was the beloved husband of Stephanie of St. Petersburg, Florida. Born in Lewiston, New York, David grew up in Queenston, Ontario and moved to Florida in 1984 where he became a successful businessman. He had a huge soft spot in his heart for all animals and was a great 'dad' and caregiver to his dogs, Tory and Tiger. He has volunteered for the SPCA and participated in rescue missions for dogs stranded due to hurricanes. Cremation has taken place. On Saturday, March 21, at 11:30 a.m., a memoriam to honor David's life will be held in the Walker Wing of Stamford Presbyterian Church at 3121 St. Paul Avenue in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Beloved husband and best friend for 44 years to wife Veronica (Bunny Folz). John served with the Canadian Armed Forces 1960 - 1963; he worked for radio and television for 23 years and found a good friend in Bob Alexander. He loved his cottage and friends on Lake Mattinenda.
