NURSE, Darrell.- Passed away in Whitby, Ontario on Tuesday May 27, 2008 in his 73rd year. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Eleanor (nee Di Stasi) of 47 years. Darrell is also survived by his children Christine Kostuch (Jim) of Ajax, ON, Brian Nurse of Pickering, ON and his grandchildren Matthew, Kristen and Jessica. He was a brother-in-law to Margaret and Bill Crew of Willowdale, ON and Jean Nurse of Moosejaw, SK. Darrell is predeceased by his parents Douglas and Christine Nurse of Yorkton, SK and brother Allan Nurse of Moosejaw, SK. Darrell was born in Grenfell, SK. He served proudly in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years and was a Member of The Royal Canadian Legion for over 45 years. He was a passionate fundraiser for the Terry Fox Foundation. A special thank you to the compassionate and caring nurses at Sunnycrest Nursing Home. A memorial service to celebrate Darrell's life will be held at a later date. Mise à jour le vendredi 30 mai 2008 Par: AP - Sr Hélène Mannette, f.j., en religion, Sr Marie Ste-Lina, est décédée le mercredi 28 mai 2008, à la Maison vice-provinciale de Moncton. Elle était âgée de 97 ans et dans sa 69e année de sa profession religieuse. Née à Larry’s River, N.-É., elle était fille de feu James Mannette et de feu Marie Pellerin. Outre sa famille religieuse, elle laisse dans le deuil une nièce, Helen Pellerin de Larry’s River, N.-É., ainsi que d’autres neveux et nièces des États-Unis. Un frère et trois soeurs l’ont précédée dans la tombe. Notre Sr Hélène a vécu sa mission comme enseignante, à Chéticamp, Arichat, Petit-de Grat et D’Escousse, en Nouvelle-Écosse, ainsi qu’à Barachois, Dalhousie, Lorne et Belledune, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Par la suite, elle a fait des études en couture, ce qui l’a amenée à rendre le service de couturière à Nash Creek, Lorne, Arichat et L’Ardoise. La dépouille mortelle est exposée à la Maison vice-provinciale des Filles de Jésus, 553, promenade Elmwood, à Moncton, le vendredi 30 mai, à compter de 14h, d’où les funérailles auront lieu en la chapelle le samedi 31 mai, à 10h30. Vaughn Ralph Terris 1934 - 2008 Vaughn Terris, 73, of Shenstone passed away at the Moncton Hospital on May 28, 2008 after a struggle with cancer. Vaughn was born in Shenstone on August 15, 1934, the son of the late Isaiah Terris and Edith (Baisley) Parker. He worked at Co-op and also with TP Downey & Sons in the woods for a few years. He retired as a school bus driver and custodian after 32 years of service and he also was a farmer, who thoroughly enjoyed his draft horses. He was also involved with the Hillsborough Legion and played with the dart league when he was able. Vaughn was the type of man once you met him you would never forget him, he lived to torment and tease. He was one of those farmers who was as strong as an ox and also as stubborn as a mule, you could never tell him something couldn't be done because he would prove you wrong everytime. He was a true friend to many and whenever you were down, if he could help in anyway he would be there, even if only with a story or a joke to cheer you up at times. He was also an avid hunter (Out of Season), there was never a lack of moose meat at Vaughn's place. He will never be forgotten. "Only A Smile Away". He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Sandra Heikkinen (Wayne) of Flesherton, Ont.; his sons, William "Bill" (Olwen) of Bleheim, Ont., Reginald (Leslie) of Hillsborough, Ben (Yvonne), Anthony (Phyllis) and James all of Shenstone; his several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Marion Harrison of Hillsborough; half-sister, Evelyn McLatchy of Weldon and by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two half-brothers, Milton and Alfred; three half-sisters, Ruby, Gladys and Greta. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. MACDONALD (KERR), Norma 2008-05-30 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Mac Donald on Thursday, May 29th, 2008 with her family by her side at the Geraldton District Memorial Hospital. Norma was born on June 20, 1916 to Mary and Al Fisher in Carmen, Manitoba. She moved to Geraldton in the 1930’s where she met her first husband, Charles Kerr. Together they raised two sons, Monty and Warren. Later, she moved to Thunder Bay, returned to school and received her R.N. A. certification. After re-locating to North Vancouver, B.C. she married her second husband, Sandy Mac Donald. In 2002, her sons brought her back to Geraldton where she has resided at Neil Court. She was very happy to be able to celebrate her 90th birthday in 2006 with family and friends. Norma will be missed by her sons Monty and wife Betty of Kama Point, Warren and wife Jackie of Geraldton; five granddaughters: Monta (and Ian) Johnson, Oakville; Jodi (and Mike) McCutcheon, Toronto; Kristi (and Kevin) Ahokas, Oakville; Shanon ( Hugh) O’Regan, Hamilton; and Rhonda Kerr, Collingwood; seven great-grandchildren: Liam and Glen Johnson; Hannah, John and Sadie McCutcheon; Kai Ahokas; Grace O’Regan. She is also survived by her step-son Alan Mac Donald and his family. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Geraldton on Friday, June 6 at 11 a.m. Should friends desire donations in her memory can be made to the charity of your choice.

CRAWLEY, Martyn 2008-05-30 Loving husband and father passed away Thursday, May 29 at the age of 75 with family at his side. Marty, the only son of Mary and previously deceased Gerald Crawley started his working career on the CNR in his late teens unloading coal from boxcars and gradually working his way up to locomotive fireman. Then in the early 60‘s he took his exams to become a locomotive engineer for the rest of his career until he retired. In his early 20‘s he met and married Rita Beattie, previously deceased, and had four children, Pat Crawley, Debbie Bonnell (Russ), J.J. LaHaise and Marty Crawley Jr. (Leona). During vacations in summer, Marty would take his family to Winnipeg or camping in Fort Frances. Marty also enjoyed sports such as golfing, curling and swimming. Marty is a long standing parishoner of St. Agnes‘ Church and was a member of St. Agnes‘ Parish Council in the early 70‘s. Marty will be sadly missed by family and friends. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Northern Cancer Research Foundation. Family would like to thank the staff at TBRHSC floor 1A for the excellent care he recieved. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at St. Agnes‘ Church at 12:10 p.m. due to family circumstances. Father James Panikulam will be officiating. A tree will be planted in memory of Martyn Crawley in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 28, 2009.

Willis Eldon Mountain Mr. Willis Eldon Mountain, husband of the late Eileen (Pleadwell) Mountain of Kelly's Special Care Home, Quarryville, passed away Thursday morning May 29, 2008 at his late residence, at the age of 85. Born in Blackville, NB, he was the son of the late Eldon and Maude (Underhill) Mountain. He was retired from CFB Depot, Renous, NB. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 49, Blackville, member of St. Andrew's United Church, Blackville, and was a veteran of WWII. Willis spent his leisure time farming, fishing (Guiding), woodworking, reading and staying tuned to Politics on TV. Always there to lend his family a helping hand with whatever renovation or building project they were doing. He will be sadly missed by his four daughters, Alice Bryenton (Leonard) of Doyle's Brook, Ruth Underhill (Percy) of Blackville, Daphne Marrs of St. John, Lori-Ann Jardine (Lindsay) of Quarryville; one son, Philip Mountain (Pauline) of Moncton; several grandchildren; great grandchildren and his dog Sam. Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by three brothers, Lloyd, Ralph and Percy; three sisters, Vida Gilks, Lottie Parizon and Rita Johns. Mr. Willis Eldon Mountain will be resting at St. Andrew's United Church Hall, Blackville, with visitation today May 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2 p.m. from St. Andrew's United Church, Blackville, with Rev. Penny Postlewaite officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. BEATTIE, Ralph David Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Health Care Centre, Guelph, on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, in his 91st year. He joins his beloved wife and best friend of sixty-four years, Betty, who passed away in March of this year. Loving father of Susanne Chambers (Fred), Barbara Dempsey (Tom), David (Cathy), and Merri. Proud grandfather of Jamie, Shannon, Sarah, Carolyn, Patricia, and Lindsay. Adored great-grandfather of Justin, Ryan, and Kristy Taggart, and Natasha, Danny, Caitlin, and Susanne Chambers. Ralph served overseas with the RCAF during WW II and his love of flying led to a life-long career in aviation: first as an air traffic controller, and then, as Chief of Air Traffic Control Procedures for Canada. Betty and Ralph enjoyed a long and happy retirement in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and latterly, in Guelph, returning home after many years to family and life-long friends. Ralph was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and he will be missed by many. He will, particularly, be remembered for his amazing memory and wonderful story-telling. A Memorial Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 20 Quebec St., Guelph, on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. An Interment Service will be held immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph. RANGER, Michel Carl Emile. 1956 - 2008. Michel passed away peacefully after a long and dignified battle with lung cancer. He leaves to mourn his life partner Patricia (Banks MacDonald) and his cherished stepchildren Andrew and Laurie MacDonald. Loving son of Simone (Laflamme) Ranger and the late Paul Ranger. Loving brother of Marc and Sophie Ranger. Proud uncle of Thierry and Etienne Ranger. He also leaves behind many relatives and friends. HOLWEGNER, Jeremy Paul January 25, 1975 - May 27, 2008 Jeremy Paul Holwegner, beloved husband of Sonia Holwegner of Airdrie, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the age of 33 years. Jeremy was born January 25, 1975 in Calgary and grew up in Strathmore and DeWinton. He graduated from Western Canada High School in 1992. Jeremy married Sonia Biswanger on August 23, 2003. He owned and operated Data Scavenger with two partners and was Chief Development Officer for many years. Jeremy enjoyed all sports and in particular was an avid Calgary Flames fan. Besides his loving wife Sonia, Jeremy is also survived by one son and two daughters, Alivia, Jaxson and Tatum. He is also survived by his mother Loreen Lehmann (Bert) of DeWinton; father Dale Holwegner (Pam) of Strathmore; sister Stacey (Tom) Wilkins, and their children Chance, Cheyenne and Sage, of Airdrie; two step-brothers Brett (Leanne) Lehmann and Colin Lehmann; grandparents Gerald and Marion Kernaghan of Turner Valley; Sonia's parents Kathy and Neil Biswanger of Didsbury and their family. He was predeceased by his grandmother Dorothy Kimmett and grandparents Paul and Phyllis Holwegner.
