BROWN, Jean Theresa (nee Richard) Passed away peacefully at the family cottage on Lake Clear, Sunday, February 24, 2008 at the age of 86 years. Daughter of the late Harry Richard and Jean Tobin of Halifax. Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Orville Cecil Brown of Kanata and by her 7 children and 14 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Ted Richard and Peter Richard (Betty) and many nieces and nephews. Cherished mother of Bruce Brown (Johanne), Lesley Posternack, Patricia Christensen (Peter), Carolyn Brown (Hugh), Nancy Lowden (Tom), Suzanne Cloutier (Greg), and Paul Brown (Jodi). Jean was the proud and loving grandmother of Matthew, Allison, Erica, Andrea, Hans, Bjorn, Evan, Brittany, Kiersten, Scotia, Linea, Damon, Andrew and Zachary. Jean was a caring, loving and generous woman with a wonderful sense of humour. She lived a full life and was totally devoted to her family. She was the centre of our world and we will all miss her dearly. A family service and interment will be held at a later date in Dartmouth, N.S. CAMERON, Roy Wilfrid Veteran - WWII At home, Friday, February 22, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Born in Mountain Township, Roy worked in the nickel mines of Sudbury before being awarded the Battle of Britain Ribbon for his work with the Canadian Firefighters in London England during the Blitz of WWII. After returning home to Canada, he spent 30 years working for Sheridan Equipment, retiring in 1983. Beloved husband, best friend and soulmate of Rita (Stapley/Zimmerman). Best Dad in the world of David (Claude) of Calgary Alberta, Betsy (Macky Sayers) of Griffith Ontario, Robert and Peter of Ottawa. ROBERTS, Gary Edward July 1, 1949 - February 26, 2008 It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce that at 58 years, Gary's struggle with cancer has come to an end peacefully at home in the arms of his family. Gary will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend of 30 years Janet (nee Walker) and three loving daughters, Jennifer, Katie and Laura. Gary is survived by his mother Eleanor (nee Platt), predeceased by his father Thomas Edward. Also left to grieve are siblings Claire Davis (Jack) and Dianne, favorite mother-in-law Thelma MacCaskill and sisters-in-law Judy Walker (Eric) and Heather Callahan (Jim), uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends and neighbours. Gary will be remembered for his incredible courage and strength given his unthinkable and terminal diagnosis. He never thought it was his job to tell others how to live, but by example he taught us all about what mattered in life and to live it to its fullest. Many thanks to all who cared for Gary during the past year. We are especially thankful for Dr. Hurdon's wonderful, compassion and care, and to the nurses at Bayshore Home Health and CCAC who helped ensure his comfort to the end. A Memorial Service will be held at Woodroffe United Church, 207 Woodroffe Avenue on Saturday, March 1st, 2008 at 1 p.m., followed by a reception. Interment to follow in the spring. She is survived by daughter, Diana Warmen, Red Deer, Alta.; son, Gerald (Sharon), Toronto; sisters, Eva Hingston, Hammond Plains; Velma Hope, Bedford; brothers, Terrance, New Harbour; Neil (June), Dutch Settlement; grandchildren, Amanda (Allison), Matthew, Ryan, Vernon, Adam, and Erin. She was predeceased by sisters, Susan (Irene) Baker, Greta Baker; brothers , Austin, Milton, and in infancy by Greta and Agnes. ANDREWS, Robin Linda Frances 2008-02-26 It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Robin Linda Frances Andrews, peacefully in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Tuesday, February 26th, 2008. Robin was born in Port Arthur on October 1st, 1967. Family was very important to Robin, especially her beloved son Jamie. She enjoyed music, particularly watching her brother‘s band with family and friends. Robin was a very caring and loving person with a lot of spunk. Robin will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her son Jamie Ward Jr.; her parents Linda and Sulo Miller; her sisters: Ginger (Rob), Carrie (Kurt); and brother Sulo (Stacy); nephews: Jeremy, Holden, Sebastian, Troy, Layne; and close friend Jamie Ward Sr. Also surviving are numerous aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by grandmother and grandfather Frances and Lawrence Andrews; uncles Charles Andrews, Waino Miller; and grandmother Gertrude Miller. GRAY (Brown), Beryl Mae "Betty" GRAY (Brown), Beryl Mae "Betty" - 85, born November 24, 1922, in Moncton, N.B., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in QEII Health Sciences Centre on February 27, 2008. She was a daughter of the late Greta Brown (VanBuskirk). She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Ralph; sister, Doreen Burns. The Salvation Army was an important part of her life. She loved her Lord dearly and was saved at the tender age of 12 and devoted her life to serving Him until she entered into His presence. She was a junior soldier, corps cadet, songster and officer for three years. She entered The Salvation Army Training College 1948-1949. She was in the Peacemaker Session and became and officer for three years. Over the years she was corps secretary and Home League secretary. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 54 years, Malcolm Gray; daughters, Karen (Robert Lawther), Janet Anderson, and son, David (Cathy) Gray; grandchildren, Jaymz, Matthew, Anne, Christopher, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kayla, Jonathan, Cameron, and Aiden. WILLIAMS (VanBuskirk), Enid Grace WILLIAMS (VanBuskirk), Enid Grace - March 27, 1924 - February 26, 2008. It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a daughter of the late Harry and Elva (Murphy) VanBuskirk of Murphys Cove. After having a massive heart attack in 1991, the doctors told her that she could expect possibly two more good years of life. She certainly fooled them with many more years of vibrant life, which she shared with all those who loved her. She touched countless lives with her generosity, compassion and humour. Her heart and her home were open to everyone. Music was a hugely important part of her life. She sang in various church choirs for over 70 years and enjoyed singing in the Montreal Happy Tones, and especially, the Scotiannaires Barbershop Choruses. Enid was predeceased by her husband, Rowland "Rolly"; brothers and sisters, Charlie, Bill, Lad, Ann, Maude, Jean, and Molly. She is survived by daughter, Debby, Bridgewater; son, David and daughter-in-law Alison, Toronto; son, Peter, Head of St. Margaret's Bay; and her grandsons, Brychan and Ross, Toronto, whom she adored. She is also survived by sisters, Hester Hymovitch, Brampton, Ont., and Ellen Strople, Murphys Cove; her stepgranddaughters, Jen Wentzel, Edmonton, Alta.; Sandy Angus, Calgary, Alta., and their families; many, many nieces and nephews, some of whom considered her their second mother; and her foster daughters, Paulette Tanner, Dartmouth, and Grazi Frick, Timberlea, who will cherish her always. There are many people to thank for their help and support during the past months. The staff and volunteers (Ralph) at the Palliative Care Unit were absolutely wonderful and we will always be grateful for the tremendous level of care she (and Debby) received. We would also like to thank the VON for their daily care, Rosemary Rippon, Pat Roscoe and Marion Smith for transportation; Dixie Smith-Camp and family and Becky Strople for Mom's special meals and support, and Thane and Marion for their late night rescue. A Visitation will be held in Ronald A. YOUNG, Raymond LeRoy YOUNG, Raymond LeRoy - 77, Brooklyn, Annapolis Co., passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn, he was a son of the late Parker and Annie (Beals) Young. Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors in general. He was a farmer - he always had cattle, chickens and turkeys until the last year or so. He worked in the feed mill at the Lawrencetown Co-op for several years and dabbled in construction. Raymond is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Rosalene Trask; daughters, Valerie Benjamin, Mount Hanley; Connie Young, Wilmot; Sandra (Stanley) Simpson, Brickton; Darlene Moore (Robert Sweet), Berwick; June Young (Warren), Wilmot; Bridget (Peter) Jackson, Brickton; Carol Young, Brooklyn; sons, Randy (Linda) Young, Mount Hanley; Larry (Debbie) Young, Wilmot, sister, Frances Fitzgerald, Middleton; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one stepgranddaughter. ARCHER, Bernard Frederick (1924- 2008) - On Feb 26, 2008, Bernie joined his grandson, Brandon, in their heavenly home after a courageous battle with lung disease at the age of 83. A dear husband of 62 years to Laura and a loving father and grandfather, he will be sorely missed by his family: daughter, Debbie and husband, Lloyd Davidson, their children, Jonathan (Tabitha), and Adam; daughter, Melanie and her husband, Barclay, their children, Brandon (pre-deceased), Trevor (Stefany), and Meghan (Leigh), daughter, Vicki and her husband, Steve, and their children, Michael, and Lindsay. A proud Canadian and a veteran of World War II, he worked at Imperial Oil as an electrician for his entire working life. He was an avid golfer and loved all the times he spent on the golf course with his family and friends. CHRISTENSEN, NORMAN CECIL - The passing of Norman Cecil Christensen, of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Pauline (Petersen) Christensen, occurred on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on January 13, 1913 in the Danish community of Foley Brook, NB, he was a son of the late Christen and Hannah (Jensen) Christensen. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In his early years, he owned and operated a sawmill with his youngest brother Wallace in New Denmark. He then went on to become a potato farmer in the community where he and his wife raised their six children. In 1968, they moved to Fredericton where he began his life as a carpenter building homes in the area. After his retirement, he continued to enjoy building things for his family and friends. He was a member of the Anglican Church of Canada. Norman is survived by two sons, Errold (Shirley) Christensen of Grand Falls, NB, Dwight (Nancy) Christensen of Ottawa, ON; three daughters, Paulette (Earle) Black of Saint John, NB, Irene (Richard) Kitchen of Moncton, NB, Charlene (Ron) Worrall of Fredericton, NB; daughter-in-law, Sheila Christensen of Fredericton, NB; twelve grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Norman was predeceased by one son, Melvin Christensen; four brothers, Raymond, Alvin, Wallace and Gordon Christensen. SMITH, WILMA MAXINE - Leaving this world on the day she was born into it; we wish to announce the passing of Wilma Maxine Smith (Wade). Wilma was predeceased by her husband Donald V Smith. Wilma is survived by five children, nine grandchildren; one chosen grandchild, three brothers and one sister. Wilma also leaves behind her little Rosie who was a source of great laughter and comfort over the years, especially the past year and a half. She was loved by many and will be missed greatly by those that she chose to surround herself with. Wilma leaves behind many fond memories for special friends Doris and Eldon Carson, who were never more than a phone call away. Anyone who was a part of Wilma's life knows the kind of person she was. Wilma was kind, gentle-hearted and forgiving. Much like her own mother, Mabel she always found a kind word to say about anybody. Nanny's stories of Uncle Russell and her dolls will always be laughed at; as well as, stories about her adventures with Mary-Lou. In her childhood days she enjoyed water sliding down country hillsides and was well known for her singing abilities. Wilma was also known for her revenge schemes against the infamous Uncle Russell; although one nearly backfired the night the barn caught fire and she had sewn his pant legs together! Wilma was an avid camper and enjoyed spending many years at her campsite on the Washademoak Lake, or traveling down the Miramichi in a canoe with Don. Back 'in the day', she was an avid card player and was always battling her son-in-law, Wayne for the "Cribbage Cup". She was also known as the Skip-Bo Hippo, for her uncanny way of always having a few wild cards up her sleeve. I think if given the chance to say so, Wilma would ask for us all to smile at her passing and understand that she is finally at peace and well. She would ask you not to weep and have you understand that her passing has given her new life and freedom from a body that was worn out and tired. Nanny is in a better place now and is finally reunited with her husband whom she has missed deeply. Godspeed Nanny and give Grampy a hug from me. Grandma's Hugs Are Made Of Love! Everything my grandma did is something special made with love. She took the time to add the extra touch that said, "I love you very much." She fixed hurts with a kiss and smile and told good stories grandma-style. It was warm and cozy on her lap for secret telling or a nap. And when I say my prayers at night I ask God to bless and hold her tight. Barbara Arabella Chaulk SACKVILLE, NB - Chaulk, Barbara Arabella, 74, died in Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, NB on Wednesday, February 27th, 2008. Born in Sackville, NB on October 16th, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Ruby (Murray) King. She is survived by daughter, Rosemary Chaulk; sons, Ross Chaulk (Rosemary) and Bill Chaulk (Kathy); grandchildren, Jayson Sampson, Amber Sampson and Corey Chaulk; great-granddaughter Rachel Sampson; brother, Donald King (Ruth), and several nieces and nephews. Armand M. Buggie Armand M. Buggie 91, of Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Broadway St., Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Born in Renous, Armand was the son of the late Daniel and Mae (Donovan) Buggie. Armand was a former employee of Swift Canadian and retired from the City of Moncton, Public Works. He attended St. Michael's and St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Churches and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sunny Brae Legion #54. Armand enjoyed gardening, fishing, but first and foremost was spending quality time with his family at the camp in the Miramichi. McCUTCHEON, LORNA CHRISTINE Lorna C. McCutcheon of Harvey, wife of the late Ernest Clair McCutcheon, passed away at Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, NB on February 26th, 2008. She graduated from Provincial Normal School in 1939 and taught for 35 years in various New Brunswick schools. She was a member of McAdam Legion, All Saints Anglican Church and the ACW. Lorna is survived by a daughter, Patricia Little (James), Harvey Station; two granddaughters, Carla Estabrooks (Dennis), Harvey Station and Monica Wyman (Michael), Quispamsis; two grandsons, Matthew Little (Kathryn) and Mark Little (Andrea), both of Harvey Station; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Howell, Kingsclear and Thelma Brown, Sussex; one brother, Donald Hood (Lorraine), Magaguadavic; several nieces and nephews. NICKERSON, FOLTON VICTOR - After his 2 year battle with cancer, Folton Victor "Nick" Nickerson of Quispamsis passed away peacefully at home, Monday, February 25th, 2008. He will be sadly missed by Susan of Quispamsis; sons, Blantford, Kevin (Colleen) both of Saint John; Terry, of Upper Greenwich and Bobby (Melissa), of Nerepis; daughter, Denene (Blair); sisters, Valerie Nickerson (Emery) and Coral Brennan (Bob), both of Saint John; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; special friends, Lawson and Darlene Tufts and special caregiver, Jane Nelson of Quispamsis. Nick was born 1932, in Cape Sable Island, N.S and was raised by Ellen and Wallace Nickerson. In earlier days; Nick was a fisherman, later becoming a diesel mechanic for Smith's Transport. In the eighties he worked at the Saint John Dry Dock as a pipefitter. Nick was an owner and operator for Sunbury Transport Trucking, later retiring in 1998. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and going to the trailer at Riverside Rentals. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rosemond in 1994; brothers Seaward, Blantford, Trueman and Weldon and sisters, Vera, Leora and Netta. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd.
