La Liturgie de la Parole aura lieu le vendredi 4 janvier 2008 à 11 heures, en la Chapelle du complexe suivie de la mise en place au Columbarium Le Sieur. La crémation a eu lieu au Crématorium Le Sieur. La famille recevra les témoignages de sympathie jeudi de 19 à 22 h et à compter de 9 h vendredi, journée de la cérémonie. Cecily Anne (Reid) Koniuk June 1, 1937-December 11, 2007 The family of Cecily Anne (Reid) Koniuk is deeply saddened to announce Cecily's death at 10:30 a.m. on December 11, 2007, at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg. She was a greatly cherished wife, mother, sister and friend and she left this world as she had lived - with courage, grace and dignity, with her family by her side. Left to mourn her passing and to celebrate the gift of her life are Rudy, her devoted husband of 50 years, her beloved children Tanis and Randy (wife Heather), grandchildren Halston, Chloe, Marcus, Madison and Alyssa, sister Rilla Rutherford (husband Garth), brother-in-law Albert Koniuck (wife Helen) and nieces and nephews Tod, Jill, Mike, Margaret, Bob, Janet, Paul, Bill, Karen, Hilary, David, Douglas, Robert and Beverly. Cecily was predeceased by her much loved mother Jessie Reid, father Cecil and older brother Dayton. Cecily was born in Brandon, MB and raised in a close-knit and loving family on the Reid farm near Rivers. Her early years were idyllic, playing with her siblings, cousins, and of course the many puppies, kittens and horses. Cecily's love of animals continued throughout her life, and she will also be much missed by her pet dog Riley. After the tragic death of her mother in 1949, she moved with her family to Winnipeg where she attended St. James Collegiate. In 1957, Cecily and Rudy wed, and made their home in Winnipeg where they raised their two children. Cecily worked in the travel industry with Carlson Wagonlit. She was a travel agent extraordinaire, her attention to detail and calm manner earning her many loyal clients and friends over the years. Together with her husband, she hosted countless cruises and vacations that took them all over the world. The family would like to thank all the relatives and friends who provided support and inspiration during the last weeks of Cecily's life. A particular thank you to Rilla and Joyce Doherty for being so helpful and caring. A sincere thank you as well to Fr. Roland, the nurses (especially Kim), auxiliaries and doctors in the Palliative Care Ward at St. Boniface Hospital - your care and compassion is second to none. Jean-Claude Fortin Jean-Claude Fortin, 74 of Moncton with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday evening, December 20, 2007. Born in Waterloo, PQ, he was the son of the late Alfred and Irene (Goudreau) Fortin. Jean-Claude was a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces Navy (1953 - 1975) and was a former Paramedical Examiner for the CNR. He attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church and formerly attended St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #1310 and former choir member at St. Bernard's Church. He enjoyed gardening, reading, music, had a great love for his church and the church choir, but first and foremost was his love for his family. HUCK, Dubbie (Florence) Florence B. (Dubbie) Huck of Calgary passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007. Dubbie was born in Abernethy, SK and attended school in Saskatchewan and for three years in England. She graduated from Port Arthur General Hospital school of nursing in 1945. Dubbie married Robert C. Huck on February 10, 1945 in Port Arthur and resided for a short period in Quebec City, prior to moving to Alberta later that same year. Dubbie was active in curling and playing bridge for many years. Dubbie is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley and Colette Huck, Randy and Angie Huck; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverley and Mario Savoia and Pam and Don Fofonoff, all of Calgary. She is also remembered by her ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren Damian (Geriann) Huck and their son Grayson; Andrea Huck; Matthew (Christa) Savoia and their daughter Natalie; Marc (Trisha) Savoia and their children Jaden and Mackenzie; Robert Savoia; Lisa (Emilio) Provenzano and their sons Lorenzo and Anthony; Nancee (Peter) Nayoski; Jared Fofonoff (Lisa); Nicole, Madyson Huck and numerous nieces and nephews. Lois June Martin COMOX, BC - Passed away December 13, 2007, in Comox, BC, after a long battle with lung disease. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Wayne Martin (Bob), and her parents, Abraham and Helen Mendel. She is also predeceased by all but one of her aunts and uncles. She is survived by her children, Richard, Wayne, Crystal (Dan), Sherrill (Brian), Rose (Dan), and Laurie; by her brothers, Ron (Lynn) and Doug (Eva) and their children; and by her aunt, Frances (Red). She will be missed by her husband's sister, Pat (Lou) and by Jessie's (Bob) children. She was lucky enough to be blessed with 12 grandchildren, Mandy, Ashley and Amber (Richard); Julie, Stephen and Andrew (Wayne); Joseph and Benjamin (Crystal); Jessica, Carlee and Shannon (Rose); and Jennifer (Sherrill). She also had four great-grandchildren, ReillyMarie (Amber); Chance and Josh (Jessica); Nicky (Carlee); and will be watching for the birth of the one due in January to Joseph. Lois was born in Montreal and grew up in the area we now know as Thunder Bay, ON. Lois led a wide and diverse life. She married in June 1950 and lived with her husband in various parts of Canada. She always said her happiest time was in Lake Cowichan. After recovering from Bob's death and injuries she received in a car accident (1986), she moved back to the part of the country she liked best, Vancouver Island. She chose Courtenay because it matched her needs. She moved into Casa Loma in 2005, keeping her sense of humour and her curiousity throughout her life. Special thanks to the staff at Casa Loma, to Cindy for being a friend to the end, and for finding a home for Pumpkin, to both Dr. Silcox and Dr. Swanson and to the nurses and hospice volunteers who provided so much to Lois in her last days. RICHARDSON, Violet December 10, 1913 - December 15, 2007 Violet passed away at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital on Sunday, December 15, 2007. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, her parents, Louis and Ethel, her sister Claudine and brothers Harry and Louis. Violet was born in Calgary, Alberta and lived on the family ranch at Jumping Pound outside Calgary. She was married in 1941 and moved to Calgary, they then moved to Sidney, BC in 1972. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting and fishing. Although she had no children of her own she was blessed with five nieces, six nephews, fourteen great-nieces, twelve great-nephews, six great-great-nieces, six great-great-nephews and one great-great-great-nephew. She was a strong supporter and member of St. John's United Church in Sidney. Member of "The Monday B's", a group of ladies who meet once a week to knit items for sale to support Mt. Newton Society. PHILION, Léo Paul - Passed away at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the age of 74. Léo Paul Philion was the beloved husband of Marie (née Roy) and loved father of Shelly Philion (Adam) of Redbridge, Corinne Jutras (Jack) of North Bay, Rick Philion (Pam) of Winnipeg and Bruce Philion (Janice) of North Bay. He will be lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren, Wesley, Brennan, Cynthia, Kevin, Christina, Greg and Chad and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Katrina and Jacob. Léo-Paul was the dear brother of Ray (Pat) of Mission, Roger of Sudbury, Fern Roy (Henry) of Sturgeon Falls, Rita Perreault (Rosaire) of Azilda, Claire Loranger (Fern) of Elliot Lake and Jean Leblanc (Marcel-deceased) of Sudbury. He will be dearly remembered by many nieces and nephews. RUSSELL, Gregory James - Suddenly on Thursday, December 20th, 2007. Greg was the beloved spouse of Ruth Fraser (nee Hamilton), he was 51 years old. Loving father of Theresa Ruhnke and her husband Byron of Nepean, Robert Russell of North Bay, Cassandra Bonn and her husband Kris of Trenton and he was predeceased by Jason Fraser. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Francis Hora, life- time member of the Kingston Yacht Club, and former Naval architect. Mother to Peter Douglas Hora (Linda), and grandmother to Brian (Kendall) Hora, and Jennifer Hora, all of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dear sister of Lillian Moore (Lorne), of Kingston, Ontario. HUBERT, Peter - Humble and quietly proud veteran of WWII (R.C.A.F.) - Peacefully in the arms of his wife, at the Kingston General Hospital, after a lengthy battle with lung cancer, on Thursday, December 20, 2007. Peter Hubert, in his 83rd year, beloved husband of Susan (Thomson), for 39 years. Missed by his sisters, Mary Penner of Waterloo and Wanda Trautman of Kitchener. Also missed by Sue's family, brother Tom Thomson (Rose) of Barrie, sister Sandra Thomson of Vancouver, sister Margo Durkin (Doug) of Owen Sound and brother Bill Thomson (Kathleen) of Moose Jaw, SK. Also fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as his many caring friends in Bath, Aurora and Owen Sound.
