DUPRÉ, Raymond N. 1916 - 2005 Le 24 mars 2005, à l'hôpital Charles-Lemoyne, après avoir lutté contre un cancer, est décédé Dr Raymond N. Dupré, médecin, à l'âge de 88 ans. Passionné, il a relevé de nombreux défis. Né aux États-Unis, il a fait ses études de médecine à l'Université de Montréal. Il a, entre autres, instauré la clinique au bas des pentes du Mont-Tremblant et fondé l'hôpital St-Paul à St-Jovite. Il a dévoué sa vie à sa famille, ses patients et à sa communauté. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Marthe, avec qui il a partagé 57 ans, ses fils Paul (Martine Dupras), Pierre, notaire, (France Turcotte), Jean (Me Marie-France Perras), sa fille Dr Maggy Dupré et ses petits-enfants Jean-François, Isabelle, Julie, Jean-Philip, Catherine, Marc-Alexandre. Il repose en paix avec sa fille Johanne. Les funérailles auront lieu le vendredi 1er avril à l'église de St-Jovite à 11 h. Des dons peuvent être faits à la Société canadienne du cancer. OBITUARY NORMAN JAMES CURRIE Passed away on March 15, 2005 at the age of seventy. He is survived by his wife Lise, his daughter Mona, his son Marc, his granddaughter Danielle and a new grandchild on the way. His brother Don, sister Linda and her two children Robert and Amanda also survive him. Norm was a man of many talents with a kind heart. His accomplishments are too many to list. Suffice to say that he will be sadly missed and fondly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and, above all, as a great friend. Norm will be cremated and a cross will be hand made by his son Marc. This cross will be displayed atop a tree where Norm's best friends Dave, Rob and Ken go fishing every year with Marc. KOZAK, Ben William (May 31, 1962-March 18, 2005), Suddenly and tragically, Ben Kozak, 42, and his dog Theo, were killed while walking across Carling Avenue in Ottawa last Friday evening, March 18th. Theo died instantly and Ben died in Ottawa Civic H ospital a few hours later with his beloved sister Arden by his side. Dearly loved son of Bill and Irma (Upper) Kozak. Cherished brother of Arden Kozak and her partner Ron Honey of St. Catharines. Dear nephew of Steve and Sally Kozak, Welland, David a nd Marie Kozak, Lansdowne, and the late Ann Kern (January 2005). Born in Niagara Falls, Ben attended Orchard Park, Prince Philip and A.N. MYER schools. He received his B.B.A. degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo in 1985 and his B. Sc. in Marine Biology from Dalhousie University, Halifax in 1993. Ben lived in Halifax for ten years, working for the National Research Council and the Nova Scotia Aids Coalition. He moved to Ottawa in June 2001, working as Director of Finance and Administr ation for the Canadian Aids Society, which covers all of Canada. Ben travelled extensively and made friends wherever he went. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, canoeing and hiking, also music and gardening. He even skated to his downtown offic e in the winter. Most of all, he loved his family, his dog, and his many, many friends. Compassionate, sensitive and kind, he was known as "Gentle Ben". He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. In keeping with Ben's wishes, cremation h as taken place. Gladys was a member of Hillsborough United Baptist Church and attended Riverview United Baptist Church for the past eight years. She enjoyed quilting, writing poetry and working at Jigsaw puzzles. Hazel Monica Forbes 1910 - 2005 Hazel Monica Forbes, of McNair Manor, Riverview, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the age of 94. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Elizabeth Gould. She was a homemaker after retiring from Your Pharmacy on St. George Street for many years. She was a long standing member of the St. Bernard's C.W.L. She is survived by her daughter, Faith Johnson (Harold), of Gibbsboro, New Jersey; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Forbes in 1978 and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. There will be no visitation at the request of the family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring. M. l’abbé Lucien Rioux est né le 24 mai 1923 à Ville Dégelis au Témiscouata, fils de feu M. Joseph Rioux et de feu dame Marie-Claire Gagnon. Il a été ordonné prêtre le 3 septembre 1950 à St-Gabriel de Rimouski par Mgr Charles-Eugène Parent. Il était collaborateur dans le secteur de St-Jean-de-Dieu (St-Clément-St-Cyprien-St-Jean-de-Dieu-St-Médard et Ste-Rita) dans la région des Basques. Études classiques au Petit Séminaire de Rimouski (1939-1947); études théologiques au Grand Séminaire de Rimouski (1947-1951). M. l’abbé Rioux est professeur et régent à l’École de commerce de Rimouski (1950-1951), puis à l’École moyenne d’agriculture de Rimouski (1951-1953) où il est en même temps aumônier diocésain de l’Union catholique des cultivateurs (UCC) (1951-1954), il devient aumônier diocésain de l’UCC et de l’UCF (Union catholique des fermières) (1954-1965). Il est ensuite curé à l’Ascension-de-Patapédia (1965-1969), aumônier à la Commission scolaire régionale de la Matapédia (1968-1969), agent auprès de l’Office de développement de l’Est du Québec (1969-1970). Il est nommé curé à Rivière-Bleue de 1971 à 1975, puis curé à St-Clément de 1975 à 2002. Il habitait encore le presbytère de St-Clément et agissait comme collaborateur dans le secteur de St-Jean-de-Dieu. Il laisse dans le deuil, son frère Edgar (Jeanne Deschamps). Il était également le frère de feu Cénéville (feu Argé Lavoie), feu Corrine (feu Wilfrid Morin), feu David (feu Éva Morin), feu Wilfrid (feu Aline Lavoie), feu Délima (feu Albert Morneau), feu Lydia (feu Oscar Morin), feu Jeanne (feu Albert Morin), feu Anna (feu Henri Lavoie), feu Roland (premières noces feu Jeanne Jean, deuxièmes noces feu Mathilda Aubin), feu Louis-Philippe (feu Marie-Paule Nadeau); ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces. Il sera exposé en l’église de Saint-Clément, à compter du dimanche 27 mars à 14h. Les funérailles auront lieu le lundi 28 mars 2005 à 14h, en l’église de Saint-Clément. Par la suite, il sera exposé en l’église de Saint-Eusèbe à compter de 19h et le lendemain à compter de 9h. Une célébration aura lieu le mardi 29 mars à 11h, en l’église de St-Eusèbe et de là au cimetière paroissial. LIBURDI, Francesca (nee De Santis) Born in Ceccano, Italy, on April 11, 1902, and born into eternal life on March 24, 2005. Passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital, Western Campus, with her caring family at her side. Predeceased by her husband Sebastiano (1985). Loving and caring mother of the late Giuseppe (1999) and Giuseppina, Filippo and Rosa, Anna and Vincenzo Panecaldo, Renzo and Clementina, Santina and Walter Pandolfi, and Antonio and Anna Maria. The affectionate and adoring Nonna of 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, United States and Italy. Mamma was an incredibly hard-working and loving matriarch of our family. She was an avid gardener who loved to share the fruits of her labour with her very large family. Special thanks to the entire caring and supportive staff of 3 West. ROSEHART, Sister Marilyn Catherine At Parkwood Hospital, London on Thursday, March 24, 2005, Sister Marilyn Rosehart (formerly Sister Edna Marie), of the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London, at age 68 years and in her 49th year of religious life. Marilyn is lovingly remembered and will be sadly missed by her sisters in community and by her family. Her sisters and brother have been faithfully with her especially during these past months of her illness. Marilyn is predeceased by her father Paul in 1945, her mother Edna (McElhone) in 2002 and her brother-in-law William Musick in 1971. Besides her sisters and friends in community, she is mourned by her sisters Pat Musick of Dundas, Gerry Dyrkacz and her husband Marvin of Calgary, Alberta, Jean Mech and her husband Bob of Hamilton, Ginny Lasanowski and her husband Stan of Guelph and her brother Paul and wife Sharon of Elora. Many nieces and nephews will remember their aunt as someone who was vitally interested in their lives - Lynn, Michelle, Lisa, Lori, Erica, Paula, Paul, Tom, Mike and Mark. Marilyn's memory and vital spirit will be kept alive for the next generation of great nieces and nephews. They will carry the goodness of her spirit into the future. Marilyn was raised in Simcoe and grew up in a close-knit family where the seeds of responsibility, faith and respect for people were planted. She had training in both administration and in spiritual direction and these gifts led her to administrative work in St. Joseph's Hospital in London and Chatham as well as St. Mary's Hospital. She also served in leadership positions within the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph. More recently she worked at St. Joseph's Hospitality Centre where she became friend to so many volunteers and clients alike. Her warmth, sensitive spirit, keen wit and good old-fashioned practicality created many lasting relationships. She had a tenacious sense of what needed to be done and did not let apparent obstacles deter her. Her friends always knew her as someone who supported and encouraged their endeavours. For the last six years she was a co-director at Medaille Spirituality Centre where she enjoyed creating space for others to rest and to reflect. Her sense of the beautiful and her passion for hospitality to others were two strong strands of her own spirituality. Marilyn and those close to her are so appreciative of the many people who were part of the last phase of her journey into God. In particular we wish to extend gratitude to the nursing staff at Parkwood Palliative Care and Dr. John Swift for their day to day care and encouraging words. Dr. Kelly Regan and Dr. Seema Luke played significant roles in getting Marilyn the care that she needed. The Palliative Care Outreach Team were such a wonderful and constant support.
