CHENIER, Florida (nee Queneville) Peacefully at Queensway Carleton Hospital, July 21, 2009 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Romeo. Cherished Mother of Robert (Anna Norlock), Claire (Jacques Guenette), Jeanne (late Bruce Pritchard), Therese (Michel Sauve), Guy (Lyne Guenette), Paul (Anne Lefebvre). She will be dearly remembered by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Kelly Funeral Home, 585 Somerset St. W. (Centretown) on Sunday, July 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. MAIER, John It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Maier on July 15, 2009 in Kelowna, BC, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was eighty-eight. John is survived by his children Lorne (Lisa), Rosina, and Russell, grandchildren Stacey, Kathleen, Bonnie, and Brandon. He was predeceased by his loving wife Agnes of 51 years. John was an avid curler well into his retirement years. He was president of the Glenmore CC in Montreal (1981) and represented Quebec in the 1982 National Playdowns. FRICKER, Elaine Passed away peacefully in her 83rd year on July 11, 2009 at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (formerly Whitby Mental Health Centre) after a long battle in her elder years with severe mental illness. Elaine was the much loved daughter of Eric and Gladys Fricker. She is survived by her brother Austin (Lois). She was the most fun Auntie Goggles to Catherine DesBrisay (husband Hugh, Claire and Amy) and Michael Fricker (wife Karen, Andrew and Emma). Also survived by cousins Ann MacKay, Delia Dunn, Allen and Peter Holman and Ray Barrett. Elaine had many lifelong friends whom she wished to thank for the good life she had for her first seventy-three years. Elaine graduated from Glebe Collegiate (Ottawa); the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto. Throughout her life at camp and cottage and as a piano and subsequently kindergarten teacher, Elaine used her ingenuity and kindness to stimulate and develop qualities which her students would use throughout their lifetime. At Elaine's request, a family burial service has been held. NEMANISHEN , Helen (nee Samchek) January 1, 1935 - July 22, 2009 Helen Nemanishen, beloved wife of Walter, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the age of 74 years, after a tough two-year battle with cancer. A child of the Great Depression, Helen was born New Year's Day on her parents' snowbound homestead near Aaron, SK. As a young teen, Helen accepted the Lord at an old-fashioned "Tent Revival Meeting" and was baptized in the chilly waters of the Swan River which flowed past her home near Benito, MB, where she attended High School. Those early roots made her a cheerful and generous Bible-based believer. Mourning her sudden passing is her husband of fifty years Walter; two daughters Carol (grandchildren, Cian, Kevin and Lyndsey) and Gail (husband Lowell Deering and grandsons, Caleb and Tobin). MAYER, Raymond Eugene - of Chesley, (originally from Kirkland Lake and more recently from Dobbinton) died one day before his 57th birthday, at Victoria Hospital in London on Monday, July 20, 2009. He succumbed to the injuries he sustained three weeks prior in an automobile accident. Ray was most recently employed at the Agency / Energizer in Walkerton. He was the owner / operator of the Home Office Place in Chesley where he sold and serviced computers. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nancy Burns - Mayer and his two daughters, Ashley (24) of Barrie and Allana (22) of Toronto He was one of six full siblings, as well as six other half-siblings and the son of Walter Mayer and Gloria Courville. At Ray's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Chesley on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Chesley Medical Clinic would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. The family sends their thanks to the Elmwood Fire Department, the emergency department of the Chesley District Hospital and the ambulance and helicopter operators who were involved.

He had a great sense of humour and got pleasure out of making others laugh. John was a true gentleman and a brave heart. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. LLOYD, Eileen Elizabeth - Heaven was missing an angel, but she was found July 21, 2009. Eileen will be deeply missed by her son Brian (Marie), daughter Bonnee (Mitch), and by her husband Kenneth. VAN HARTEN, Jan (John) - Surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness, passed away on July 24, 2009 at the age of 77. He is now reunited with his most cherished and beloved wife Helen (2003). He was the loving father of Elsie Carty, Cathy and Brian Hooke, Bea and Larry Borsato, and John and Karen Van Harten. The very best and loved Opa to Michael, Rob, Laurie, T.J., Neil, Keith, Nadine and Nicole. John will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews both here and in Holland. John was a GM retiree, a member and past director of Club Netherlands and a long time member of the Pioneers Klaverjas Club. DUVAL, Chantal Marie (née Lemieux) 1934-2009 - Passed away peacefully at the Mattawa General Hospital on July 21st, 2009 at the age of 74 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Adelard Duval in 2008. Loving mother of Sylvie (Wade) Clouthier of Ottawa, Denis (Lorraine) Duval of Brampton, and Deanna her youngest daughter also of Ottawa. Chantal will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Michaela and Ryan. Chantal was predeceased by her parents Wilfrid and Antoinette (Chenard) Lemieux, and brothers Laureat and Philippe. Dearly loved by sisters Laurette, Gilbert, Victoire, Colette, Huguette, and Jocelyne and brothers Jacques, Wilfrid, Claude, Paul, Gilles, and Nelson. Chantal will be fondly remembered by Adelard's family and by her many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary, volunteered with the Hospital Bingo fundraising and worked at the Mattawa General Hospital for over 15 years. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place at the Forest Lawn Crematorium, North Bay.
