Il était le fils de feu Arthur Denis et de feu Clérida Dubé et l'époux de feu Gabrielle Nadon. Il laisse dans le deuil 2 filles : Lise (Charles Charbonneau) et Rachelle; ses 5 petits-enfants : Linda, Rock, Nicolas, Patrick et Mélissa; ses 3 arrière-petits-enfants : Connor, Dillon et Alexandre; sa soeur Lucienne (René Martin); sa belle-soeur Germaine Monfils et ses beaux-frères : Paul Laberge, Luc Marleau et Royal Nadon; ainsi que plusieurs cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces et ami(e)s. GEIGER, Sheila Audrey (nee Sutherland) Passed into the presence of her Lord at University Hospital, London, Ontario, Thursday, July 16th in her 75th year. Loving wife of James Geiger and daughter of the late Reverend A.D. and Mrs. Jessie Sutherland. Sheila will be greatly missed by her sisters, Lois (Reverend William) Duffy, Muriel (Ron) Barrington and Margaret (Arjen) Kouwenberg. She was also dearly loved by her nine nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. While in Ottawa Sheila was a teacher of Family Studies at D. Roy Kennedy and Fielding Drive Schools. MALONEY, Gregory Joseph (Born in Mayo, Quebec) Passed away peacefully on July 24, 2009 at 1:00 am at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Fun-loving grandpa to Jessica, Patrick, Samantha, Elizabeth, Margaret, Katherine, Jason, Matthew, Laura, Joel, Philip, Elliot, Jillian, Andrew, Crystal, Adam, Ryan, Tyler, Amy, Pamela, Stephane, Eric, Amber, Stephanie, Scott, Adrian, Brittany and Shannon, and proud great grandfather of Thomas, Abigail and Nathan; son of the late Fred and Maude Maloney; brother of Doris, Hazel, Alice, Anne, Gerry, and the late Meryl, Orville, Clarence and Lois; and Uncle Greg to numerous nieces and nephews. McKIEL, John Albert (Bob) On July 19, 2009 in hospital at the age of 90. Born and raised on the shore of the St. John River, Bob served in the navy throughout WW II. He met and married his wife of 65 years, Marie, in Sydney, Nova Scotia. They moved with their growing family to Ontario as Bob pursued his studies, earning a PhD from Queens. He worked at Tunney's Pasture in Ottawa as a research scientist and Director General. Bob and Marie retired to a hundred year old house on the Atlantic coast in Nova Scotia. He completely rebuilt the house over a 20-year period before they returned to Ottawa. He is survived by his wife Marie (nee MacDonald), his sons David (Mary Jane), Don (Dawn), and Greg (Ross), his grandchildren Maggie (Chris), Andy (Jennifer), Sarah (Perry), Laura as well as 5 great-grandchildren, his sisters Glenna (Paul), Mardie (Ian) and Maxine (Romey). JOSEPH, Harriet (nee Bloomfield) Of Scarsdale, NY and Middlebury, VT died peacefully of natural causes on July 14, 2009 at the age of ninety years. Born in Westmount, Montreal in 1919, the youngest of the large Bloomfield clan, she graduated from McGill University (1941) where she was Women's Editor of the McGill Daily News and then earned her M.A. from Bryn Mawr. She was a social worker in Montreal during WWII. She was professor of literature at Pace University, NY for thirty years. Shakespearean scholar and member of the Authors Guild, she was the author of "John Hall, Man and Physician." She was married to Edward D. Joseph, MD, (McGill also), a psychoanalyst and professor of medicine at Mt Sinai Hospital, NY, whose family were the first Jews in Canada in 1760. She is survived by her three children: Leila Joseph, Ed.D. of Lincoln, VT; Alan Joseph of Menands, NY, and Brian Joseph, Ph.D. of Columbus, Ohio; six grandsons; one great-grandson, and eight nieces and nephews. TAYLOR, Bruce (Rupert) November 28, 1927 - July 24, 2009 PURMEREND, HOLLAND: Peacefully with his wife and youngest son by his side on July 24, 2009, after a battle with lung cancer. Bruce was a long-time journalist in Montreal initially with The Herald and later as a well-known daily columnist with both The Gazette and The Montreal Star. He was acclaimed for his many special stories, in particular his columns on his visit to Castro's Cuba in 1964, at a time when North American journalists were not allowed into the country. Following his newspaper career he immigrated to the United States to become an entrepreneur owning a baking company, 'American Pie'. Later, he worked in international investments around the globe in New York, London, Taiwan and Amsterdam. He moved permanently to Holland in 1998. He is survived by his devoted wife Chandra (Kanhai) and his loving sons Scott (Allyson), Brett (Lorri Ann), and Richard Roy. Big brother Bruce will be deeply missed by his sisters, Brenda Grassau and Lynda O'Dwyer, and his brother, Richard Taylor. He leaves behind three grandchildren: Mitchell, Autumn and Chase. He was a proud uncle to a total of six nephews and nieces. In keeping with Bruce's wishes, there will only be a private family remembrance. POOLE , Mary (formerly Mary Morley) June 7, 1928 - July 22, 2009 Mrs. Mary Poole, beloved wife of David of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years. Born and raised in Southern Manitoba, Mary lived her adult life in Calgary. She worked hard all her life owning and operating Morley Optical business for many years. While working, Mary made numerous friends and was loved by all. Mary took pride in keeping her home and herself immaculate and presentable at all times. She enjoyed cooking and baking. BROWN, Shirley Ethel (neeTanner) - March 30, 1929-July 21, 2009 - Passed away unexpectedly at home in the garden she loved. Predeceased by her loving husband Garnet. Cherished mother of Janice (Sean), Charles (Lilia) and James. Beloved Nana of Sarah Anne and Daniel. Survived by brother Ron, sister Phyllis (Paul) and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends. Shirley enjoyed life to the fullest and was thankful for each new day. We were truly blessed to have her as the head of our family, and she will remain forever in our hearts and our thoughts. We'd like to thank Dr. J. Webb and the nurses from ParaMed for their wonderful care over the past years. Many thanks to PC A. O'Byrne and PC L. Robson for their compassion during this very difficult time. CASSIDY, Mary Elise (Rattray) - passed away at age 86, in St. Catharines, Ontario on Monday July 20th, 2009 after a brief battle with Cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her children, family and friends. Mary was born in Picton, Ontario on April 26th 1923; one of the first set of triplets born in Ontario. Mary lived her life for her family and children and leaves behind six children: Douglas, Susan, Linda, Charles, Deborah, Catherine: nine grand children: Lesly-Ann, Bradley, Robert, Derek, Dax, Brandon, Elisa, Megan, Brianna-Dawn, as well as two great-grand children: Andrea and Kealy. Mary lived quietly and without complaint, living the saying about all mothers: “A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.“ She will be dearly missed. MOORE, Allen Edward - The gates to Heaven have opened and open arms have welcomed Allen Edward Moore.
