PARKINS, John Robert July 28, 1940 - March 15, 2009 John Robert Parkins of Calgary passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the age of 68 years. WADE, Delbert (Del) Elray September 30, 1918 - March 13, 2009 Del Wade, beloved husband of Mary of Calgary, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Del was born on September 30, 1918, in Kindersley, SK. His greatest enjoyments in life were spending time with family and friends. Del will be missed forever, but his spirit will live in those of us who loved him. PELTON, (Dr.) Robert Bob - December 17, 1928 - March 13, 2009 - Surrounded by his loving family, Bob Pelton, 80, of Sudbury, Ontario, peacefully passed away while on vacation in Sarasota, Florida. Bob was absolutely loved by all and will be missed dearly. His devoted wife Nan (nee Nugent), predeceased in 1998, and daughter Elizabeth Pelton (predeceased in 1968). He is survived by his son: John Robert Pelton (Dr.), his wife Susie and their children John (12), Matthew (11), Christopher (8) and Ashley (5), daughter: Mary-Frances Rizzardi (nee Pelton), her husband Oliviero Rizzardi and their children, Paulo (22), Maxwell (8) and Liza (6). (Henry) Robert Pelton was born (an only child) in Ottawa, Ontario to his parents (predeceased) Emma and Harry Pelton. He had roots in Toronto, Woodstock, Chapleau and extended family throughout Ontario. He enjoyed a successful career in dentistry upon graduating from the University of Toronto and earning a fellowship in Dental Anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh. He partnered for over 40 years with Dr. Frank Clumpus, a lifelong friend, in Sudbury where he made a beautiful life for his family and cared for his community with the utmost professionalism as a gentleman. Bob embraced a fun-filled, active retirement of lakeside leisure as an avid reader of many books and his favourite subscription to National Geographic. He cherished close friendships with his extended family and his friends in the Ottawa Valley where he frequented his dear Golden Lake Cottage over many happy years. He looked forward to socializing with his 'wine tasting' comrades, his treasured Friday lunches and annual vacations to Florida where he spent quality time with his 'southern family'. Bob's final wish was simply stated as wanting to celebrate his life, not his death. The family will honour his request on Thursday, April 9th, 2009 for an intimate memorial in his honour at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME with a reception to follow at Bob's home (his sanctuary). CARON, Jeanne Marguerite (née Giroux) - Beloved wife of Jean-Paul, passed away at her home in Ottawa on March 15, 2009, at the age 79. MIDDLETON, Pearl Violet (Thompson) - July 7, 1920 - March 14, 2009 passed away peacefully at Pioneer Ridge Home for The Aged on Saturday, March 14th, 2009. Pearl was born in Fort William on July 7th, 1920 to the late Ivan and Violet Thompson. In 1942 she married Sandy Middleton in Fort William and moved to Geraldton until returning to Fort William in 1952. Her main interests were her home and garden and she enjoyed carpet bowling and other activities at the 55 Plus Centre. Left to mourn is her son Gary (Linda); three grandchildren Deborah (Markus), Sherri (Glenn), Kevin (Andrea) and eight grandchildren; Dustin, Riley, Eric, Melissa, Brittany, Liam, Ethan and Lukas. Her sister June, brother Gerry, numerous nieces, nephews and special niece Beth Shipston of Thunder Bay will also remember her. She was predeceased by her husband Sandy, her parents, sister Hilda and brother Webb. HEIKKILA, Sinikka Sirpa Marjatta - (Born in Lapua, Finland on June 14, 1947) - After a lengthy illness Sinikka slept away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Ottawa General Hospital. She was a cherished daughter of Heleena And Olavi Heikkila (predeceased 2004) of Sudbury. DALLARD, Robert Theophile “Bob“ - The Dallard family sadly announces Bob's passing on Saturday March 14th, 2009, at the North Bay General Hospital. He died peacefully at the age of 68 years after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. For the past 49 years he has been the devoted and loving husband of Barbara (nee Gallipo). The proud and loving father of Norman (Heather) of Peterborough, Susan Dallard-Muto (Joseph) of Loretto, and Vicki Dallard-Gravelle of Owen Sound, he will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jordan and Natalie Dallard, Brandon and Brianne Muto, and Chris, Darren and Nathan Gravelle, and his great granddaughter Rianna Dallard. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Dorina Dallard and his brother Donald. He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters Barbara Baginski (Paul) of Edmonton, Mary Truchon (Dennis), Norma Bartone (Anthony), Darlene Warren (Larry), John Dallard and Raymond Dallard (Bonnie) all of North Bay and was fondly admired by many nieces and nephews. Bob was a Millwright by trade and was a long time valued employee of Central Welding. A passionate fisherman and hunter he treasured his time spent in the out of doors. Ethan Benjamin Brian Brake,"Manno" occurred on February 14, 2009 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, at the age of 7. Born in Fredericton on December 31, 2001, he was the son of Jeremy and Rachael (Williams) Brake. Ethan is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Rachael, big sister Caitlin, grandparents Ben and Beatrice Brake, Brian and Janice Williams, Desiree and Sandy, Uncle Joel (Kandi) Williams, Aunt Erika Brake, great-grandparents Don and Marie Swim and many great aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him very much. Visitation was held at St. John The Evangelist Church in Johnville, N.B. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 11:00 am. Rev. David Fulton as Celebrant was assisted by Rev. Dan Melanson. Rachael Brake read a touching poem and her dad, Brian Williams, gave a eulogy. Special music was provided by Jeff Campbell and Shelly Swim. They were assisted by Peter McLaughlin, who along with the choir, provided music as well. The Perth Bagpipe Band escorted the family into and out of the church. Two special family members, Theresa Hunter and Charles Corcoran had reading parts in the service. ROSS, George Thomas - 1939-2009 (Retired teacher and principal Peterborough Victoria Northumberland & Clarington Catholic School Board). Passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Toronto General Hospital with his brothers at his side. He was predeceased by his parents Marie (nee Leahy) and Thomas Ross and his brother Claire. He is survived by his brothers Dan and his wife Grace and John and his wife Jane of Peterborough. He is lovingly remembered by seven nieces and nephews: David, Bryan, Andrea, Jennifer, Heather, Kathryn and Ashley. George will be remembered by many colleagues, students and parents. He loved teaching, his family, his friends and neighbours, hockey and baseball and was a person of great integrity who helped many during his lifetime. George served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Peterborough Humane Society. ALBERT, Claude - Surrounded by his loving family, Claude Odillon Albert passed away March 16th, 2009, at the age of 77, and was welcomed into the arms of his beloved Lord and Saviour. Claude was deeply dedicated to the Roman Catholic faith; he was a fouth degree Knight, a Eucharistic Minister and an active member of Right to Life. He worked for over 30 years with Ontario Hydro. Always a sailor at heart, he loved the ocean. Claude will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Fran and six children, Maurice, Lucie, Roger, Robert, Jeannette and Gilles. Claude cherished his 13 grandchildren: Claude, Monique, Matthew, Brandon, Dustin, Karli, Michelle, Jeannine, Danielle, Benjamin, Dominique, Gabrielle and Isaiah, as well as one great grandchild, William. SCOTT, Margaret (Peggy) - The family announces with sorrow her death on Friday March 13, 2009 at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site; she was 85. BUNSTON, William (“Bun“) - Passed away suddenly in the place he wanted to be, sunny Dominican Republic, on March 12th, 2009 in his 73rd year. Loving husband and friend to Linda. DURKSEN, Justina nee (Peters) - Died March 16th, 2009 in her 99th year. She was born the oldest child of Cornelius and Katarina Peters on August 24, 1905 in the Ukraine. The Peters family immigrated to Canada in 1924 and settled first in Saskatchewan and later in British Columbia. She made a commitment to Christ in 1928 and was baptized in the Herbert, Sask. Mennonite Brethren Church in 1929. Justina married Martin Durksen in October 1933. They farmed in the Frontier and Foam Lake areas of Saskatchewan and the Beamsville area of Ontario and raised nine children. Justina and Martin served as deacons in the Vineland MB Church for many years. After retirement, Justina and her husband lived in Tabor Manor Apartments in St. Catharines and enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren in various parts of the province. After Martin's death Justina moved to the Vineland United Mennonite Home. Justina was predeceased by her husband Martin, an infant son, and all of her five siblings. She is mourned by children Katie (Edward) Koop, Anne (Henry K.) Friesen, Peter (Erna), Helen (Carl) Dahmer, Hilda (Walter) Friesen, Marion (Erwin) Wiens, Cornelius (Shelia), Frank (Ellie), Henry (Sylvia), 27 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at VINELAND CHAPEL of TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St. on Wednesday, March 18 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. SENN, J. Stewart R. - Peacefully at his home on Monday morning, March 16, 2009, in his 87th year. Survived by his loving wife for 63 years, Jean; and his sons, John (Andree) and Jim (Karen). Loving grandfather to Erin, Heather, Will, Kevin (Amy) and Jessica. Also survived by his sister Ena (Elford) and his brother Leonard (Jessie). Predeceased by his sister Della. Born on a farm in Caistor Township, Stewart left the country life behind to pursue a career as an auto mechanic. This career took him from St. Catharines to a number of places in Southern Ontario in the late 1950's with Canadian Comstock. In 1962 he landed his dream job at General Motors and remained there until his retirement in 1987. Stewart was one of those people who could fix anything and he was blessed with the patience to keep trying. The family extends their thanks to the staff at Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village for their compassionate care over the last four years. STEPHENSON, Mrs. (Dorothy) Sylvia - RAF WWll - January 14, 1916-March 14, 2009 - It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mum and Nana on March 14, 2009 in her 94th year. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 62 years, Gordon of Fonthill, her children Jennifer Stephenson and Catherine Campbell (Mark) all of Port Dalhousie and her precious granddaughter Lisa, of London England. Predeceased by two baby girls and a granddaughter, Amy Rebecca Campbell. Sylvia was born in London, England and emigrated to Canada in 1947 after meeting Gordon in Hove, England. Sylvia was active in Guiding for over 25 years, a member of the ACW, Friends of the Library, a founding member of the Pelham Art Club and always a volunteer when called on for her community. Sylvia was a beautiful sole who offered her love and friendship to whomever she met. We wish to thank the caring staff at Linhaven, Lincoln Unit who has given Sylvia a loving home for the past 4 years, Rev. David Browning and the ACW at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Fonthill, the Pedlar Funeral Home and all her dedicated friends.
