Snodgrass (1986). Dearly beloved mother of Gail (Mike) Manuel, Tom (Frances) Snodgrass and Judy (Richard) Schrader. Loving grandmother of Mark (Tracy Gilbert), Michelle, Jessica (Hans Richter), Erika, Meagan and the late Jennifer. Dear great grandmother of Alicia, Trinity, Jolissa, Gavin, Peyton and Hans Thomas. Sister of George and the late Charles and Richard. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Helen was a longtime member of St. Andrew's United Church, belonging to the U.C.W. MELBYE, Leslie - May 28, 1935 - December 25, 2008 - Passed away peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital on December 25th, 2008. Devoted husband of Winnie and beloved father of Percy and Ritter, he will be sadly missed by sisters Dorthy (Adams), Minnie (Fallon), brothers Fred (Melbye) and Richard (Melbye). Predeceased by sister Fanny (Davies) and brothers Henry (Melbye) and Eddie (Melbye). Leslie worked for over 25 years as a health inspector with the Niagara Regional Health Department. He was a member of the Niagara Orchid Society. The former Lillian Alberta Johnston was the beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Young (1985). She will be sadly missed by her loving children and their spouses: Lois (Allan) Saltonoski and Lola (Bill) Neelands. Lillian was predeceased by her two sons Ted (2000) and Lloyd (1998) as well by her brothers Reg, Willis, Chris, Clarence, Gerald, Alvin, Hughie and a sister Wilda Neil. Also survived by brothers Merel and Keith. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her 8 granchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. TIGHE, Harold - After a lengthy illness, Harold passed away peacefully at his home in Owen Sound on December 26, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. He was 75 years old. Harold Alfred Tighe much loved husband of 55 years to Doris (nee Torrie). Dear father of Madeline and her husband Peter Ruehlicke, Cynthia and her husband John van den Broek and Mary Tighe and her partner Rick Griffiths. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Adam and Tanner van den Broek and Andrea and Leah Ruehlicke. Harold is survived by his brother William and his wife Lois. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Harold is predeceased by his sister June Monk and her husband Oliver. As a young boy Harold was introduced to the grocery business while working with his father at the family owned Beehive store in Owen Sound. He later owned his own grocery store for a period, before joining the Ontario Provincial Police retiring after 26 years with the rank of Sargeant. Harold was a proud member of the Mount Forest Kinsman Club and was honored to receive a lifetime membership to the Kinsman Club of Canada. Beloved mother Eleanor Smith (Mike) of Bethel, Elaine Porter (James) and Ellen Baracetti (Mike), all of Welland and Evan Bines (Kathy) of Niagara Falls. Loved grandmother of eleven grandchildren. She was further predeceased by parents Ernest and Jessica Little and Siblings Earl Little, Edna Rogers and Gerald Little. Born in Welland Mrs. Bines remained a life long resident of the city. She was a member of All People's United Church and was a volunteer and driver for Welland/Pelham Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Bines home was open to everyone and everyone called her “grandma”. Her love and passion was music and singing in the church choir. She was very active and recognized for her community service, working countless volunteer hours. Great grandmother of Adam Findlow of Markham and Kodi Connolly of CFB Borden. She was predeceased by and gone to be with forever, her husband Bryce Dunn, the love of her life. Mom will be laid to rest, at the point with her husband and her nephew Donnie. She was a dedicated member, baptised, and worker of the South Porcupine United Church, where her love was taking care of the children in the nursery. Mom was very proud of her family's Canadian Military Tradition, having met Bryce during WWII while working in a munitions factory in Ajax, ON. Mom took great pride to see Jennifer and Christopher serve in our Canadian Navy and Kim decorated in Afghanistan. Mom's main claim to fame was her unending LOVE for her family and all the children who she was nanny to specifically Wendy, Linda, Douglas, Donald Jason, Laurie, Brodie and Trevor. Diplômé du Collège Sainte-Marie (1962) et de la Faculté de Droit de l'Université de Montréal (1965), il obtient une Maîtrise en droit de Harvard University (1971). Il fut professeur de droit fiscal à la Faculté de droit de l'Université de Sherbrooke de 1967 à 1990. Au cours de sa carrière, le juge Dussault a également pratiqué comme consultant et a enseigné dans le cadre d'autres programmes universitaires dont celui de la maîtrise en fiscalité de l'Université de Sherbrooke, de la maîtrise en droit de l'Université de Montréal et de l'Université de Laval et dans le cadre de divers programmes de formation professionnelle et permanente du Barreau canadien, du Barreau du Québec et de l'Institut canadien des comptables agréés (ICCA). Diploma from College Sainte-Marie (1962) and the Faculty of Law at the University of Montreal (1965), he obtained a Master's Degree in law from Harvard University (1971). He was the professor of Taxation Law in the faculty of Law of the University of Sherbrooke from 1967 to 1990. Through the course of his career, judge Dussault equally practiced as a consultant and taught other university programs including Taxation Law at the University of Laval and in the framework of diverse professional and permanent formation programs of Bureau Canadian, Bureau du Quebec and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICCA). He was a member of the Commission des valeurs mobilieres of Quebec from 1981-1988. He was named judge to the Cour Canadienne de l'Impot in 1990 where he stayed until his retirement in 1006. He leaves to mourn Marie-Therese Lefebvre and their dear son Jean-Francois Dussault, his brothers Guy (Pierrette Pelletier) and Claude (Ruth-Ann Haldenby), his sisters Josee and Camille and also nephews and nieces Sebastien, Eric and Caroline, David and Jonathan, Catherine and Alexandre. MacISAAC, Daniel Allen October 22, 1926 - December 24, 2008 Daniel Allen MacIsaac of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Dan was born on October 22, 1926 at Broad Cove Banks, Inverness, Nova Scotia. Dan enjoyed a long working career in construction management, in mining and infrastructure. This enabled him to live in many communities throughout Canada and abroad. Dan was very devoted to the teachings of the Spirit of the Catholic Church and God. Dan served the church as a lay minister and was a prolific writer of family stories and teachings of the spirit. His great passion was his family; Dan loved to be in the company of his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He was very proud of all their accomplishments. Daniel is survived by his children and their spouses, Joy and Diego Romero and their family, Tomas (Nerissa), Judith and Rachel, Dan and Kathy MacIsaac and their family, Nicole, Lauren and Aeryn, Beth and Marc Guilmette and their family, Emily and Mathieu; one great-granddaughter, Isabel Marie; sisters, Florence MacDonald and Mary MacLean, brother, Angie D. PRINCE, Laurence Diane Passed away peacefully on December 16, 2008. She was born in Shipman, SK, on April 4, 1936. She is predeceased by her parents Herve and Lucie Prince. Laurie (Laurence) is survived by her only son Mark Carl St. Michel, his wife Bonita, and her granddaughter Tara. In 1966 Laurie graduated from the St. Boniface General Hospital School of Nursing in Winnipeg, MB. She worked at many hospitals but spent most of her career working at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, AB since 1972. She was honoured for her service as a nurse for thirty-one years. Laurie achieved her grade 8 piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music and this was one of her many interests along with photography, knitting, crocheting, and computers. The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethany Care for the excellent care they provided to our mother. A Private Family Service will be held at Holy Child Roman Catholic Parish in Regina, SK. BURNS, Robert "Bob" It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Burns who went suddenly Thursday, December 25, 2008. Born May 15, 1919 he lived a full healthy life. Predeceased by his loving wife Rita whom he adored from the second they met. After more than 64 years of marriage, Rita passed away 11 months ago in January 2008. Those that knew him best would say he died of a broken heart. He was born in Ottawa, and at the age of 5 moved to Brockville where he lived until he was 17. He returned to Ottawa and finished high school at Lisgar Collegiate. He joined the RCAF in 1939 and served in England during WWII. He spent 25 years in the RCAF followed by a career at CBC handling real estate from coast to coast in Canada. Predeceased by brother Ray and sister Mary, Bob is survived by sister Jean. Bob will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, daughters-in-law Susan and Roxanne, grandchildren Olivia, Braden, Heather, and Mark as a wonderful, generous grandpa. Most of all, he will be remembered by his five children Ann, Maureen, Tom, Don, and Janet as being the world's best Dad. His loving care and devotion to special needs daughter Maureen was something to behold. Always happy to help in any way, providing thoughtful advice whenever asked, and never overbearing, Bob set an example for us all in how he conducted himself in every aspect of his life. Bob had a love of all things golf and was a member of Hylands Golf Club. He enjoyed playing with his kids and grandkids most of all. He was an avid reader and recently began to study the history of Ireland. With daughter Ann's work in tracing the Burns/Byrne family history, he had the good fortune to meet distant relatives in Ireland on a trip just this last September. He was planning a trip next summer to visit them again. He will be missed by his Irish family. We all take comfort knowing that he now rests peacefully with his true love Rita. SHISKO, Sheila Isobel - At the North Bay General Hospital on Thursday December 25, 2008 at the age of 74 years. Sheila (nee McLeod) was the beloved wife of Stephen Shisko and the proud and loving mother of John (Mary-lu Spinney), Alan (Georgie Donais) and Ann (David Stevens), all of Toronto. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Emory, Sophia, Quinn, Jack and Emily. Also survived by her brothers Donald “Doc“ McLeod (Johanna) of Kincardine and John McLeod (Maureen) of Florida. Born and raised in Kincardine, Sheila earned a Public Health Nursing diploma at the University of Toronto and graduated with her Registered Nursing degree from the Stratford General Hospital. An accomplished student of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Sheila has been a very active and dedicated member of the music community in North Bay for many years. She served as the accompanist for the North Bay Choral society for over twelve years. A long time piano and organ teacher, she will be fondly remembered by her many students. For several years she served as church organist and choir director at St. Andrews United, then in 1983 began as organist and choir director at Trinity United until 1996. While at Trinity, she was instrumental in the fundraising for, and installation of the congregation's first pipe organ, a project that she willingly dedicated many hours to. A community minded person, Sheila was very active with the CNIB having served as Chairman of the local Board. In recent years she has enjoyed playing as the accompanist for the theater group Dreamcoat Productions.
