Elle laisse également ses frères et soeurs: Jean (Lise), Paul (Diane), Denise (feu Gérald), Réjeanne et Louise (Wayne) ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces et amis. De FRANCO, Lucia Peacefully passed away in hospital surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at age 93. Widow of Giuseppe De Franco. She was the last surviving member of the Pantusa siblings. Cherished mother of Nicola (Emilia), Frank (Mary) and Lorenzo (Ann). Lucia was the loving Nonna of 12 grandchildren: Joe (Lesley), Dino (Joanne), Marco (Jennifer), Lucia (Francesco), Leonardo, Sergio (Annick), Nadia, Travis, Gianfranco, Ashley, Danielle (Tom), Donna Marie (Adam). She adored her 11 great-grandchildren: Marino, Amero, Sabrina, Matteo, Luca, Brandon, Brenna, Kyle, Grace, Emma and Gavin. Lucia is survived by her sister-in-law Adelina Pantusa spouse of her deceased brother Stano. She is also predeceased by her sisters Ernesta (Francesco) and Michelina, and her brothers Giuseppe (Maria), Tommaso (Maria), Salvatore, Eugenio, Agostino and Antonio. Lucia will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and many friends in Italy, France, Ottawa, Toronto, Chicago, Boston and Concord. KAYE, Peter Wesley BSc, Queens 48 1/2 Ontario Hydro, 1948 to 1983 Peacefully, on December 21, 2008, after a determined battle against cancer, just three days after his 83rd birthday. Loving and much loved husband of Shirley Margaret (Mable). They had just celebrated their 60th anniversary on November 27th. Dear father of Susan Kaye (Gilles Bourret) and Sheila Allen (Gwillym Allen), grandfather of Meghan Allen (Geoff Cruttwell) and Bronwyn Young (Shawn Young), and great-grandfather of Tesfa Catherine Cruttwell. He is survived by his sisters Vera (Harold Killins) and Anne (George Burley), brother-in-law Joe Mable (Gloria), and many nieces and nephews. Peter had an interesting and successful career at Ontario Hydro, retiring in 1983 as Manager of Operations, Central Region. He was an enthusiastic golfer until his health forced him to retire from Amberwood Village G&C Club where he frequently "shot his age". Peter loved people and he loved life. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and all who knew him. Many thanks to the personnel at Carleton Lodge for their professionalism, care and many kindnesses. OBITUARY DONALD CHARLES CLINTON 1920 - 2008 A life that was varied, exciting and always interesting has come to an end. Don Clinton Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Cowansville, Quebec, on Sunday, December 21, 2008. He was eighty-eight in October. He leaves behind Mary, his wife of sixty-one years, his three reasonably well adjusted children, five of the greatest granddaughters and two terrific great-granddaughters who will all miss him. He backstopped the Burlington High School hockey team to the provincial championships as their goalie in 1937. Spent five years overseas flying Sunderland Flying Boats during WWII that took him to Murmansk, the North Atlantic, Gilbraltar, Malta, North Africa, India and Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Returned from the war to enter his father's business in textiles and then later moved to P.E.I. to establish a successful hotel and restaurant business. He shot his age two years ago golfing at the course near home. There will be an interment at the family plot in Picton, Ontario on a sunny day next summer. JANSSEN, Uwe Beloved husband of Fern of Calgary, AB, passed away on December 20, 2008 at the age of 65 years, after a courageous battle with ALS. Uwe was born February 6, 1943 in Elbing, Germany and immigrated to Calgary in 1955. He was a loving husband and best friend; a compassionate, wise and proud father; and a nurturing grandfather. Uwe will be sadly missed by his loving wife Fern of forty-four years; his two daughters, Charlotte Nemes (Dennis) and Vicki Werner (Ellis); and his three grandchildren, Jessica, Devin, and Brendan. Uwe leaves behind his brothers Hans Janssen (Charlene) and Wolf Janssen (Susan), sister-in-law Hildegard Janssen, and many cousins, nephews and nieces. Uwe was predeceased by his parents Willi and Elisabeth Janssen, and brother Werner Janssen. Uwe was an active man in both work and play. Uwe worked as an industrial electrician and had recently retired. He loved spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Uwe also enjoyed hiking, camping, and traveling. He was a strong supporter of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. His generosity and nurturing spirit will remain forever in our hearts. MAHOOD, Kitty June 4, 1922 - December 18, 2008 Kitty (Kathleen Grace) Mahood of Calgary passed away at home very peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the age of 86 years. Kitty grew up on the family dairy farm in west Calgary. She devoted her life to serving her Lord, to the family farms in west Calgary, Cochrane and Langley, BC, and to her extended family. Kitty trained to be a nurse's aide and worked at the Calgary General Hospital. She cared for her father and mother in their latter years. Kitty was an active and valued member of the Valleyview Presbyterian Church community. She, together with her brother Sam, enabled the move of Ambrose University College to the original Mahood farmstead in west Calgary. She is survived by her loving brothers Samuel and William (Bill) and his wife Mary and loving sister Jennie Taylor and her husband George, and numerous nieces, great-nieces and nephews and great-nephews. Aunt Kitty will be greatly missed by her extended family. She was predeceased by her father John Mahood, mother Sarah, sisters Suzanne, Harriet, Gladys, Bertha and brothers Joe and Teddy. The family wishes to express sincere and heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Zandra Ricarte and Jas Singh, who enriched Kitty's last months by providing exceptional care. GILLIS, Frank (Barney) - Of Thorold South - In his 84th year, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Survived by his dear wife of 60 years, Pauline Gillis. Born to loving parents; the late Jack Gillis of Merritton and the late Madeline (nee Wood) Gillis of Thorold. Dear father of Calvin Gillis (Margaret) of Cape Dorset, Nunavut, Susan Gilbert (Alex) and Jay Gillis (Jennifer) both of Port Robinson. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Karla, Jason, Saila, Kayla, Everett and Joe. Great-grandpa of Alexandria, Joshua, Danielle and Loreia. Predeceased by his siblings; Jack, Joe and Dawn (Mary) Gillis all of St. Catharines. Survived by his brother Ronald Gillis of St. Catharines. Frank was a quiet private man who lived a simple life with his family. He retired from the Beaver Wood Fibre Co. in 1987 where he worked for 45 years. At one time, he was a volunteer firefighter for the Thorold South Fire Dept.. In 1962, he was awarded a Good Neighbour Award Plaque for saving the lives of three small children. “He always put others first.“ Cremation has taken place.
