LÉONARD Émilienne Bolduc (1916-2008). Au CSSS de Beauce, Saint-Georges, le 21 septembre 2008, à l'âge de 92 ans et 1 mois, est décédée dame Émilienne Bolduc Léonard, épouse de feu René Léonard. Autrefois de Beauceville elle demeurait à Saint-Joseph de Beauce. Les funérailles ont eu lieu mercredi le 24 septembre 2008 à 14h en l'église de Beauceville et de là, au cimetière paroissial. La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la maison funéraire Nouvelle Vie inc., St-Joseph. Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils: Éloi Léonard (Michelle Vachon), ses petits-enfants: Pier-Olivier, Kellie, Alan, Éloi Junior, Dylan; elle était la soeur de feu Yvonne, feu Marie-Ange, feu Irène, feu Lucien, feu Rhéo, feu Jean-Louis, feu Juliette, feu Aurore; elle laisse également dans le deuil un neveu très près Jules-Aimé Lessard (Noëlla Létourneau); plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et amis(es). LALONDE, Père Philippe C.S.V. 1913 - 2008 Le père Philippe Lalonde, clerc de Saint-Viateur, est décédé au Centre Champagneur de Joliette, le 24 septembre 2008, à l'âge de 95 ans, dans sa 75e année de profession religieuse et sa 71e année de sacerdoce. Né à Saint-Télésphore, le 9 juillet 1913, le père Lalonde est entré chez les Clercs de Saint-Viateur où il a émis ses premiers voeux, le 16 août 1934, et a été ordonné, le 11 juin 1938. Après ses études en théologie, le père Lalonde a oeuvré principalement au Collège Bourget, à Rigaud, puis au Collège Saint-Viateur, à Outremont. Il a aussi passé trois ans au Collège de Gaspé. Il y a enseigné le latin et le grec avant d'exercer la fonction de préfet des études. En 1972, il commence une nouvelle carrière en pastorale paroissiale à Boileau (Petite Nation), où il exercera la fonction de curé jusqu'en 1995. Il se retire alors à la Maison Charlebois, à Rigaud, où il exerce encore son ministère auprès des personnes âgées. En 2003, il se rend au Centre Champagneur de Joliette où il vient de décéder. Outre sa famille religieuse, le père Lalonde laisse dans le deuil sa soeur Geneviève (feu Arthur Besner) ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Le père Philippe Lalonde sera exposé à la Maison provinciale 450, avenue Querbes, Outremont 514-274-3624 le vendredi 26 septembre de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 21 h. Une célébration de la Parole aura lieu à 19h30. Les funérailles seront célébrées au même endroit, le samedi 27 septembre, à 10 h, suivies de l'inhumation au cimetière de la Congrégation, à Rigaud. PATRICK, Walter Maurice - At Bluewater Health Palliative Care, Sarnia on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, Walter Patrick, age 86 of Sarnia, passed away peacefully with family at his side. Devoted husband of the late Jean Patrick (2007). Happily married for 62 years. Loving father of Carol Richmond and husband Bill Whitefoot and the late Glenn Michael Patrick (2003). Much loved grandfather of Courtney Richmond and husband Julian Kerr of Brampton, Lindsay Richmond and husband Hadi Majzoub of Toronto and Michael Patrick of Calgary. Devoted great grandfather of Eden. Survived by sisters-in- law Thelda Griffin and Blanche Patrick and several nieces and nephews. Beloved husband of the former Betty Simpson. Loving father of David Banks and his wife Roberta, the late Pam McDonald, Robert Banks and his wife Elaine, Deb and her husband Rick Dowsling, and Ann Banks. Father-in-law of Murray McDonald. Fondly remembered by his 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Edward Banks. Visitation was held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Tuesday from 7–9 pm. A Celebration of Al’s Life was held at the Durham Presbyterian Church on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. David Nicholson officiated and Roberta Banks played the piano. Al’s granddaughters participated in the service: Words of remembrance were given by Raquel Dowsling, Melissa Mitchell read Psalm 23 and Dianne Banks recited, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” The congregation sang, “Sweet Hour of Prayer” and “Will Your Anchor Hold?” The flower bearers were Lonnie Dowsling, Matt Francis, Katelyn Brown, Aleesha Brown and Natalie McDonald. Daughter of the late Alexandre “Alex“ and of the late Euphrasie (née Bazinet) Gauthier. Wife of the late Leo McGillis, predeceased in 1997. Loving mother of Norman McGillis (Janice) of Casselman and Claire Gamble (Gerry) of Sudbury. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Evelyne Bertrand, Roméo, Henri, Lauretta Forest, Jeannette Gauthier, Octave, Fernando, Alexandre and Leoda. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Suzanne, Christine, Michael, Marnee, Kathryn, Nancy and by her great-grandchildren, Brent, Bradley, Justin, Eric, Desirée, Sabrina, Meaghan, Collin, Duncan, Madison, Austin, Paige and Matt. Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The focus of Juliette's life was her loving family who will miss her dearly. Joseph ’Jos’ Allain (1917-2008) - À la Résidence Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur de Dieppe, le mercredi 24 septembre 2008, à l’âge de 91 ans, est décédé paisiblement, entouré de sa famille, Joseph Allain, époux de feu Anna (Girouard) Allain (2000), domicilié à la Résidence, mais autrefois de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent. Né à Sainte-Marie-de-Kent le 17 septembre 1917, il était fils de feu Gonzague et de feu Elise (Léger) Allain. Il laisse dans le deuil ses deux filles: Sr Marie Hélène Allain ndsc et Linda Williams (Donald), toutes deux de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent; une bru, Jacqueline Nowlan de Bouctouche; quatre petits-enfants: Anise, Gilberte, Rhéal et Julie; quatre arrière-petits-enfants: Anabel, Ethan, Sébastien et Karis; deux soeurs: Elodie Richard (Antoine) de Notre-Dame et Thérèse Allain de Moncton, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Un fils, Jean (1975); trois soeurs: Hélène, Evéline et Marie Elodie, ainsi que six frères: Lionel, Evariste, Désiré, Thomas, Edouard et Yvon, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. M. Allain a été président de la Société de l’agriculture de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent de nombreuses années et de la Commission scolaire de l’École régionale de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent durant 15 années. Il a été président de la rencontre des Allain, au premier Congrès mondial acadien, en 1994. Il a été cofondateur d’Expo Kent et un des membres fondateurs du conseil des Chevaliers de Colomb 7948 de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent. En 1993, M. Allain est nommé au Temple de la renommée de l’agriculture de l’Atlantique. Il a été un membre actif au sein de plusieurs organisations paroissiales et régionales, pendant de nombreuses années. Les visites auront lieu à compter de 14h, le dimanche 28 septembre, à la salle mortuaire de l’église Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, le lundi 29 septembre, à 16h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Heures de visites: le dimanche 28 septembre, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le lundi 29 septembre, de 14h à 15h45. JACKSHAW, John 1918 - 2008 It is with much sadness we announce the passing of Johnnie, peacefully ending a long and happy life at the age of 90. Born and raised on a farm near Bashaw, Alberta, Johnnie moved to Calgary as a young man and saw a brief stint with the Army during the Second World War. He married Ann Morrie in October 1944, creating a union that sustained each in a loving (and fun-loving) marriage for sixty-three years. Johnnie is survived by his beloved Ann and much cherished daughter Carol. The fourth of nine siblings, he is also survived by his youngest brother, Ken, of Lacombe. Although never having had a formal lesson, Johnnie was gifted with natural musical abilities, putting his talent into the alto sax, piano, organ and bass fiddle. He was active in a number of small dance bands and jam session groups over the years, but was happiest making music with his special friends in the JackPips. He was a kind and gentle man with a wonderful sense of humour, much of which was directed at himself and generally preceded by a lopsided grin and laughing eyes. He could never deliver a joke's punchline, but getting there was always hilarious. Johnnie placed enormous value on the close friendships forged over the years with people he and Ann met on their journey through life together. Cremation has taken place. He wanted no Funeral or gathering and we honour his wishes, asking only that those who knew him, remember him at his best; at the piano, playing and singing, wearing his special Liberace Jacket! JAGGER, Robert C., C.A. January 6, 1940 - September 22, 2008 Robert (Bob) Clarke Jagger peacefully passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008, at St. Boniface Hospital. Bob is survived by his loving wife Marion (Davidson), his adored daughters Patricia and Pamela (Adam Lowe) and most loved grandson Graeme. He is also survived by his mother Florence Jagger, brother Ted, and sister Eleanor Dupasquier. He is predeceased by his cherished infant son, David (1969) and his father Edwin Jagger (1997). Bob was a proud Chartered Accountant, starting his career with F.H. Black & Co., graduating in 1966 while articling with Price Waterhouse & Co. In 1979, Bob joined Davis, Daignault, Schick & Co. in Calgary as a partner specializing in Insolvency. Upon returning to Winnipeg in 2001, Bob was the CFO for St. John Ambulance until retiring in 2006. Bob's greatest joy was the craft of woodworking, producing many fine pieces of furniture now enjoyed by family members and friends. DOUCETTE, Robert (Bob) Louis With great sadness, we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Louis Doucette, 60, of Rustico, P.E.I. Bob died peacefully, on September 23, 2008, surrounded by his family in the Palliative Care Unit of the QEII Hospital in Halifax. Bob was born in Rustico, P.E.I., on February 19, 1948, to Cyril and Ella Doucette, one of nine children. The family later settled in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia. Even as a child, Bob's love of the Island was legendary. He spent his childhood summers in P.E.I. with his grandparents, aunts and uncles working on the family farm. After graduating from Saint Mary's University, Bob moved to Toronto, where he met and married the love of his life, Marilyn. They eventually moved to Spencerville, Ontario, where they raised three daughters, Terra, Amy (Kevin Zwicker) and Meghan (Quintin Etchell). Throughout his long career in the Brockville area, Bob was a teacher, principal, township councillor, involved in countless committees and charities and was honoured for his work with special needs children. Despite living and working in Ontario for over 30 years, the family spent every summer in P.E.I. Upon retirement, Bob and Marilyn returned to his beloved Island where they built their dream home on the very piece of property where they camped as a young couple. Bob became actively involved in the local community and was a member of the Cymbria Lions Club. Proud of his Acadian heritage, Bob worked with the Friends of the Farmer's Bank on the Doucet House restoration project and to further promote the celebration of local Acadian history in Rustico. He was adored and respected by his family and friends, and never failed to amaze those he met with his courage, optimism and sense of humour, despite the many obstacles and challenges he faced with his disease. He touched many hearts along the way and will be greatly missed. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Cyril and father-in-law, Pat. BURELLA, Primo Vincent - 2008-09-26 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Nono, Primo Vincent Burella, aged 87. Primo was born in Fiume Veneto, Provincia di Udine on July 26, 1921. Primo came to Canada with his mother Regina when he was 2 years old to join his father Marino, already here. He attended St. Peter’s School and St. Patrick’s High School but he left school at an early age to help provide for the family. He began his working years at Great Lakes Paper Company, and then became foreman at Caddick Wood Products on Christina Street. He was instrumental in the board of directors of Worker’s Co-op East End, serving as the President for several years. He later went on to become Assistant Manager. In the early years of the Principe di Piemonte Society in the East End he worked on the executive and last year was honoured as the longest living member. He enjoyed watching Blue Jays baseball and was an ardent Montreal Canadiens fan. His garden brought him many hours of enjoyment and he took great pride in his work. He and his wife Valma (Vilma) enjoyed traveling for several years, including trips to Acapulco with "The Gang", to Hawaii, Myrtle Beach and Florida. His greatest pleasure was his family, but especially all the accomplishments of his two grandsons Michael and Christopher. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Valma (Vilma) and by three daughters Carol Ann McLean (Brian), Linda Burella (John) and Lois Pearl. He is also survived by grandsons Michael (Leanne) and Christopher (Cathy), brothers Rino and Dino (Delores), sister-in-law Mary Margarit and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Marino and Regina and by two brothers Secondo (in infancy) and Bruno and sister-in-law Avril. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2008 when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass in St. Dominic’s Church at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Daniel Lapolla c.s. Private interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be offered on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in St. Dominic’s Church. If friends desire, memorials to the St. Dominic Renovation Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Primo Burella in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 28, 2009.
