Daughter of John Simpson & Catherine Stevenson Simpson of Kirkintilloch, Scotland. Beloved wife of the late Maurice J. Stotesbury (“Mo”). SETON (Gladys), Lenore - died Friday, September 19, 2008 at her home in Niagara-on-the-Lake after a short illness. She was 85. Beloved cousin and best friend of David C. Seton and his wife Marlene of Chatham. Dear “Auntie“ to Warren and Beryl Seton, Brian and Margaret Seton of Chatham, Catherine Seton and Todd Hoffman of Toronto. Cherished “Great-Aunt“ to Jonathan Seton, Matthew Seton, Christopher Seton and Eddie Seton of Chatham. Predeceased by her brother James H. Seton, and her parents, Minnie and James W. Seton. Missed by her sister- in-law Barbara Seton of London Ontario and by relatives Derek Seton, Audrey Seton, Gordon Seton, Joan Seton, Lenore and Stephen Greaves of Manchester England. Remembered by close friends Anne Smith of Toronto, Jane and Peter Smith of Fort Erie, Yvonne Playle, Muriel and Bill Talbot and many others in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Born in Chatham 1922, raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Manchester England, Lenore returned to Chatham in 1947. Lenore worked at the downtown Royal Bank of Canada as Secretary for several Managers. Later as the Court Stenographer and Secretary for the Magistrate and Judge at Magistrate's Court. Lenore spent her final working years as Secretary for two Managers at Chatham Hydro Electric. Member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Chatham. Active volunteer in the Phiat Club and the Zonta Club, where for many years she organized the popular Travelogue serious. Retired in 1988 to Niagara-on-the- Lake Ontario where she volunteered for the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital Auxiliary, St. Mark's Anglican Church, Newcomers (Sovereign Friends) and the Canadian Cancer Society. Lenore was a woman of style and independence who played an important role in shaping the lives of the two generations of Seton Family children. She will be missed. Lenore's Cremains will be interred during a Memorial graveside service for family members and her friends, at 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 11, in the New Maple Leaf Cemetery, Ward Q, lot 174 with Rev. DUGGAN, Wendy Anne - Wendy Anne Duggan died peacefully on September 21, 2008 surrounded by those who loved her. Born on March 26, 1956, she enriched the lives of all who knew her, with her lively intelligence, quick wit and generous spirit. Wendy was for many years Manager, U.S. Law Information Services with Manulife Financial and later held the position of Acting Librarian with the Ontario Securities Commission. She was a longtime member of the Toronto Association of Law Libraries (TALL), and member and past Secretary of the Board of the Canadian Association of Law Libraries (CALL). During her professional career she was an award- winning contributor to several industry publications. Throughout her life her deep concern for others was demonstrated by her volunteer work with a number of organizations which included the Toronto Catholic Children's Aid Society, Toronto Humane Society, Fatal Light Awareness Program (FLAP) and Fauna. Deeply missed, she leaves behind her husband Christopher Netherton; her parents, Phyllis and William Patrick Duggan; her sisters and brother Kathleen, Colleen, Sheila and William James Duggan and their spouses; her parents-in-law Shelley and William Netherton; her brothers-in-law Matthew and Simon (Leigh) Netherton; her loving nieces and nephews; and her many friends and colleagues. BUZZEE, Donald James October 3, 1934 - September 17, 2008 After a lengthy struggle with heart disease, Don died peacefully at home at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Kinsella, their daughters Susan de Laine and Sharon Hawkins (Mark) and son James Buzzee (Jillian). He will be greatly missed by their ten grandchildren, Brittany, Skyler, Thayer, Dana, Robyn, Alexis, Devon, Liam, Isla and Leo. Don had several careers, starting out in Montreal, Quebec in the newspaper industry and in the later years of his life, he worked with his artist wife in an art business in the beautiful Rocky Mountain town of Canmore, Alberta. Don was predeceased by sisters Pearl and Joyce, and brother Ralph. Many people called Don a friend. He had a special way of understanding and helping others with their difficulties. He loved camping, and the RV-ing days, long drives, golf, and his many years in the Rotary service club. Special thanks go to the medical profession that helped to prolong his life. The Cardiac function clinic at the Foothills Hospital (and Maria), Dr. Alex Brothers, Dr. Gert Duplessis, Dr. Peter Nichol and son-in-law Dr. Mark Hawkins. There is to be a "Celebration of his Life" on Sunday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Canmore Golf Club for friends and family. JACKSHAW, John 1918 - 2008 It is with much sadness we announce the passing of Johnnie, peacefully ending a long and happy life at the age of 90. Born and raised on a farm near Bashaw, Alberta, Johnnie moved to Calgary as a young man and saw a brief stint with the Army during the Second World War. He married Ann Morrie in October 1944, creating a union that sustained each in a loving (and fun-loving) marriage for sixty-three years. Johnnie is survived by his beloved Ann and much cherished daughter Carol. The fourth of nine siblings, he is also survived by his youngest brother, Ken, of Lacombe. Although never having had a formal lesson, Johnnie was gifted with natural musical abilities, putting his talent into the alto sax, piano, organ and bass fiddle. He was active in a number of small dance bands and jam session groups over the years, but was happiest making music with his special friends in the JackPips. He was a kind and gentle man with a wonderful sense of humour, much of which was directed at himself and generally preceded by a lopsided grin and laughing eyes. He could never deliver a joke's punchline, but getting there was always hilarious. Johnnie placed enormous value on the close friendships forged over the years with people he and Ann met on their journey through life together. Cremation has taken place. He wanted no Funeral or gathering and we honour his wishes, asking only that those who knew him, remember him at his best; at the piano, playing and singing, wearing his special Liberace Jacket! JAGGER, Robert C., C.A. January 6, 1940 - September 22, 2008 Robert (Bob) Clarke Jagger peacefully passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008, at St. Boniface Hospital. Bob is survived by his loving wife Marion (Davidson), his adored daughters Patricia and Pamela (Adam Lowe) and most loved grandson Graeme. He is also survived by his mother Florence Jagger, brother Ted, and sister Eleanor Dupasquier. He is predeceased by his cherished infant son, David (1969) and his father Edwin Jagger (1997). Bob was a proud Chartered Accountant, starting his career with F.H. Black & Co., graduating in 1966 while articling with Price Waterhouse & Co. In 1979, Bob joined Davis, Daignault, Schick & Co. in Calgary as a partner specializing in Insolvency. Upon returning to Winnipeg in 2001, Bob was the CFO for St. John Ambulance until retiring in 2006. Bob's greatest joy was the craft of woodworking, producing many fine pieces of furniture now enjoyed by family members and friends. KORB, Randall Alexander February 19, 1956 - September 23, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Randy Korb, who left this world peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the age of 52 years, surrounded by his family, after a very brief battle with cancer. Randy was an Automotive Mechanic who got his Journeyman's License at SAIT on December 18, 1986, and for the past twenty-two years was well known in his field. He is survived by his son Allan Woods and grandson Braven Woods of Charlottetown, PEI. Randy is also survived by his mother and father, Paul and Lorraine Korb; his sister Pam Bergeson; his niece Kasandra Hess; and two nephews, Jesse and Wyatt Bergeson, all of Calgary. McLEAN, Thomas April 16, 1936 - September 23, 2008 Tom McLean, longtime resident of Calgary, passed away peacefully in Banff, AB at the age of 72 years. Born in Kimberley, BC, Tom was well known in Calgary working for over forty years in the Oil & Gas industry. Tom married his wife Lois in 1958. His life revolved around his family and together with Lois raised three children, Randy (Debbie), Ryan and Geri-Lyn and treasured their grandchildren Ashleigh, Carly, Sydnie and Spencer. Upon retiring, they moved to Windermere, BC where Tom's love of golf and fly fishing became his passions. He was an avid sports fan, and was a diehard, lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. Lois passed away March 9, 1998, and recently Tom moved to Banff to be near his family. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. NIMMONS, Thelma September 5, 1919 - September 23, 2008 Thelma Nimmons (nee Bell), passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 23, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband George, sisters Dorothy and Irene. She is survived by her daughters Brenda (Rod), Margaret (Allan) and Lenore, grandchildren Debbie, Brandy, Tammy, Michael, Dawn and their families, cousins Zelda and Elwood and special Auntie T to Jean and John and their family, nephew John Beggs and family. Born and raised in Lindsay, Ontario, she moved to Peterborough and not long after she met George. After a short courtship they married. George's career in the RCAF moved the family to Penhold. Thelma found work in a ladies' fashion shop and this became her passion. George's sense of adventure took them to Inuvik. After a short stint as a stay at home mom, she was offered an opportunity in Hotel management. That offered her an exciting challenge which she held for several years. The family relocated to Alberta settling in the Edmonton area. Thelma returned to what she loved best, a career in ladies' fashions. She held a long and successful career in managing high end fashion shops in Edmonton. In recent years Thelma moved to Calgary. She loved to travel and kept abreast of world events and she loved the art of debate. She loved "fine dining" and dinner was never complete without dessert! She was the finest of knitters, a proven watercolor artist and a great cook and awesome whiz with shortbread. She was a strong and independent woman and a true "lady". A dedicated mother, grandmother and friend, she will be missed. Thanks to the staff of the Colonel Belcher residence, special thanks to Dianna and Joanne, and the Nurses and Doctors of the Foothills Hospital, Units 46 and 61 in Calgary for their compassionate care.
