CLARA, Dario - Died peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday September 6th, 2008 in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Kitty (Katherine) and devoted father of Lucas (Kristy). LLOYD, Patricia Ann 1942 - 2008 Passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2008 following a brief illness, under the gentle care of the staff at the Hospice at May Court. Beloved daughter of the late Llew and Margaret Lloyd. Loving sister of Gwen Spencer (Jim) of London, ON and David (Bonnie) of Carleton Place. She will be greatly missed by her nephews Jamie Spencer (Debbie Uniac), Stephen Spencer (Allison), Jeffrey (Melissa), Steven Lloyd (Tammy) and her niece Maggie Lloyd. Some of her greatest joys were her grand nephews Zachary, Nolan and Liam Spencer and to her great sadness, she will miss meeting her grand niece Spencer to be born in September 2008 and baby Lloyd to be born in January 2009. She will also be greatly missed by her loving aunts, Sheila and Anne both of England, Lillian of Carleton Place, Joan of St. Catherines, childhood friend Pat Plummer and other dear friends too numerous to mention. Pat was a lifetime employee of the former Canadian Transport Commission and National Transportation Agency where she met and leaves behind many special friends. In keeping with Pat's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation will be followed by a "Celebration of Pat's Life", date and location to be determined. There will be a private family interment service at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Carleton Place. ROBERTSON, May Louise (nee McBride) Passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, after a long and happy life. Beloved wife of Tom for 63 years. May served in the WAAF during WWII. She lived in Deep River from 1946-1976, where she was a founding member of the Deep River Players. JEYAKARAN, Jothi Lydia Vilasini Jothi Lydia Vilasini, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2008 at Calgary, AB at the age of 59 years. Jothi was born in Nazareth, Ethiopia. Jothi is lovingly remembered by her husband Richard, son Vinod, brothers Rajakumar Daniel, John Chandrakumar and nephews, as well as other family and friends. Jothi was predeceased by Flora and Immanuel Joseph Muthusami. She was a devoted wife and mother, and was passionate about teaching Sunday School and special needs children. STEWART, James Austin James Austin Stewart, beloved husband of the late Wilma Stewart passed away in Calgary on September 2, 2008 at the age of 91 years. He leaves to cherish his memory two brothers: Gerald of Walnut Creek, California and John (Jack) Stewart of Victoria, B.C.; five children: Carol Lynn (Brian) Lowery of Redcliff, James Christopher (Louise) Stewart of Lac La Biche, William Foster (Eileen) Stewart of Calgary, Craig Allen Stewart of Edmonton and Murray McLeod (Susan) Stewart of Calgary; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. James graduated from University of Saskatchewan in 1939 in pharmacy, and married Wilma May Foster in 1940. He enlisted in the RCAF and served in the medical branch throughout the war. He settled in Lac La Biche, Alberta and practiced as a retail pharmacist for a number of years followed by semi-retirement in Vancouver and Penticton, B.C. He moved to Calgary on the passing of Wilma in 2002. James led a full and adventurous life enjoying many sports, particularly hunting and fishing. James' family wishes to extend their profound thanks to all staff at Intercare Chinook for the exemplary care given and attention shown to James during his stay with them. LEON RICHARD MELANSON February 18, 1934 - August 29, 2008 It is with profound sadness that the family of Leon Richard Melanson announce his passing on Friday, August 29, 2008 after a courageous and lengthy battle with lung disease. Leon was born in Sackville, New Brunswick and it was there he met his wife Jeannine and they started their family. In 1965 they moved to Ontario and Leon continued his work as a conductor on the railroad. After thirty-five years of service, Leon retired and moved to Calgary, Alberta to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Leon worked for Borger Construction from 1990 to 1995. Leon and Jeannine started living their dream in 1994 when they began travelling throughout the U.S. and Canada, spending the next ten years living full time in their R.V. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of fifty-two years Jeannine Lorraine Melanson (Cormier), his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Robert Borger of Calgary, AB; his son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Linda Melanson of Jasper, AB; five grandchildren, Tyler, Kirk and Amber Borger and Carly and Dayna Melanson; nine brothers and sisters, Ada (Hal) Ramsay, Anne Kent, Kathleen (Joseph) Estabrooks, Marguerite (Elbert) White, Ernest (Barbara) Melanson, Evelyn (George) Ayer, Marion Locy, Malcolm (Rose) Melanson and David Melanson; brother-in-law, Adlard Cormier; and sisters-in-law, Audrey Cormier and Loretta Cormier; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. GRAWEY, Shirley Ann - Of Port Colborne passed away suddenly at her residence on September 5, 2008 in her 75th year. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Grawey (July- 2007). Loving mother of Murray Grawey (Kristina) and Michael Grawey (Tracy) all of Port Colborne. Dear grandmother of Dylan & Chloe, and dear sister of Colleen Black (the late Sam) & Barbara Stevenson (Frank). She will be missed by her sister in-law Rita Grawey, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Richard & Evelyn Knowles and by her brother Richard James Knowles. Born & raised in Welland, Shirley moved to Port Colborne where she met and married Jerry in 1954. She was employed by the Bell Telephone Co. and later stayed at home to raise her children. Shirley's encouragement and support was instrumental in many of Jerry's accomplishments. She loved to entertain and during the 17 years Jerry served on city council many social gatherings were hosted. Shirley loved the Theatre and was one of the founding members of the Showboat Festival Theatre again hosting many social gatherings in the early years. She was a member of the Port Colborne Gyrettes. Shirley was a volunteer at the Port Colborne General Hospital for 20 plus years and was also a volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross helping Cancer patients for several years. The Grawey family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at St. Patrick's R.C.
