Elle était la belle-soeur de: feu Angela (feu Jules Cloutier), feu Marie Stella (feu Wilfrid Giguère), feu Émile (Alexandra Groleau). Elle laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et de nombreux ami(e)s. POLKINGHORNE, Donald Ernest - (Member of the Midland & District Shrine Club, Huronia Harmonizers, Georgian Bay Hunters and Anglers Club, Coldwater Curling Club, Bonaire Golf and Country Club). Retired inspector with Ontario Hydro after 37 years of service. Don was an avid hunter, fisherman and conservationist with Ducks Unlimited. Don spent many hours at his duck pond in Waubaushene. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Huronia District Hospital, Midland on July 23rd, 2008 in his 92nd year. Husband of the late Dorothy Gammage. Dear father of Barry (Dorothy) of Sudbury, Terry (Anne) of Sudbury and the late Beverley “Dawn“ (Pete) of Waubaushene. Cherished brother of Katherine Lapere. Loving grandfather of Natalie (Alex), Cheryl, Jeffery and Lisa; and great grandfather of Cody, Carly, Nathan, Terynn-Dawn and Cole. Visitation took place at the NICHOLLS FUNERAL HOME, 330 Midland Ave., Midland, on Friday, July 25th, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9. Sister of Edith (Ray) Boudreau, Eloise Hunter, Marjorie Hunter and Sandra Whitehead. Sister-in-law of Mary (Jim), Pat (Ray), George (Bonnie), Bob (Audrey), Stella and Edith (Dick). Many nieces and nephews also survive. LIDEEN, Ruth Cameron Died peacefully at home on Monday, July 21, 2008 in her 92 year. Predeceased by her husband, Ted (1979), survived by her beloved daughter Linda Mosquin (Ted), dear grandchildren Alexandra Marie Mosquin (Gordon Henderson), Paul Lideen Mosquin (Hudson Fuller) and her adored great grandchildren, Karl and Henrik Henderson and Ian and Eric Mosquin. Born in Keokuk, Iowa, Ruth grew up with her sisters Joan (her fraternal twin), Florence and Harriet, and her brother John. Although her father died when she was a little girl, Ruth's mother managed to keep the family home through the Depression, leaving Ruth with engaging memories of her childhood. She briefly attended the School of Fine Arts at the University of Iowa. After marrying in 1938, she moved to California where she completed a two-year course at Coalinga Junior College and then her Bachelor of Arts at Long Beach State College (1953). Following the death of her husband, in 1980, she moved to Canada to live with her daughter and family. From 1954 to 1974, Ruth taught grades one, two and three in Orange and Los Angeles Counties. She was an extraordinarily gifted primary teacher. With unquenchable enthusiasm and special teaching skills she combined her love of art, music, song, dance and children's literature with phonics, reading, math and handwriting. Her classrooms were full of creativity and beautifully decorated with her own artwork and that of her pupils. When in her element, she had a most engaging "Peter Pan" quality about her which brought out the best in children. As a result, Ruth's students thrived in her classes and they loved her. Even when she was in her seventies and eighties, some of her former students tracked her down in Lanark County, Ontario, writing or phoning to tell her how meaningful and rewarding their year with her had been. In her later years, Ruth was an integral part of the Mosquin household where she was known by family and many friends simply as "Granny". She took special pleasure in playing bridge at McMartin House in Perth and in being with her daughter and family. Her sunny personality and her willingness to help left an impression on all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. BROWN, Mary Agnes February 26, 1934 - July 23, 2008 It is with deep sadness and regret that the family wishes to announce the passing of Mary Brown on July 23, 2008. Mary was born to Bill and May Matheson and raised near Pritchard, B.C. She met and married Maurice in Whitehorse, Yukon and shortly moved to Calgary, Alberta to raise their family. There were also many good years spent on the acreage near Delacour, Alberta. Mary was very thankful to be reunited with her son Larry who she lost contact with shortly after his birth. Mary was extremely proud of her family and loved them all very much. Mary was an avid bowler and loved to spend time in her garden. She had a great zest for life and loved a good joke. Her determination and positive attitude throughout her battle with cancer is an inspiration to all that knew her. Mary was predeceased by her husband Maurice and her brother John Matheson. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons and their families: Larry (Linda), Maria, Cody, Lucas; Glenn (Fiona), Jason, Eric; Rod (Michelle), Montana and numerous extended family. Mary was blessed with many good friends. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten. LINEHAM, Sean Christopher July 15, 1978 - July 22, 2008 Sean Christopher Lineham passed away suddenly on July 22, 2008 at the age of 30 years. He was born at the Edmonton General Hospital in 1978. Sean was the much-loved son of Denny Dawson and Danny Lineham, and only grandchild of Ken and Louise Dawson of Vancouver, BC. MORGAN, Floyd Samuel July 28, 1935 - July 24, 2008 Floyd passed away peacefully yet unexpectedly in his sleep at home on July 24, 2008. Recently diagnosed with cancer, Floyd fought through the pain with a smile on his face and his humor ever present. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years Saundra (Christensen) Morgan, son Chris Morgan, daughter Cathie (Larry) Payne, grandchildren Christy, Carlee, Mike and Mitchell Payne. Floyd is also survived by his sisters Dorothy (Raymond) Skelton, Viola Collins, Maxine (Dick) Parkyn, and June (Ted) Ellis, sisters-in-law Juanita Morgan and Angela Morgan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Floyd was predeceased by his parents Robert and Annie Morgan, brothers Robert (Bob) Morgan and Ronald Morgan. Floyd was born in Cardston, Alberta to a large and loving family, moving often throughout Southern Alberta. Floyd and Saundra were married in 1960 and had a wonderful life together, settling in Calgary. He was a devoted father and grandfather spending much of his spare time coaching kid's sports, leading cub scouts, and hours of pulling skiers behind his boat at Pine Lake. His favorite pastime was watching his grandkids play sports and his greatest joy was being around his family. In 2002 he and Saundra moved to California to be closer to their grandkids that will miss him immensely. He had a great passion for helping others and enjoying the "simple" things in life, like fishing and being outdoors. They moved back to Strathmore in February 2008 with much love and support from family and friends.
