MACMURRAY, WALLACE P. - The death of Wallace Peebles MacMurray of Saint John, husband of Norma (Wright) MacMurray, occurred on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in 1928 in Saint John, he was predeceased by his father James MacMurray, his mother Ann (Peebles) MacMurray, also by his sisters Joan O. Bush and Barbara A. Brown and by his brother James A. MacMurray and his son John. He is survived by his wife Norma; son Stephen and his wife Sheila McGinn; grandsons Adam, of Winnipeg and Wallace of Halifax; daughter Sandra of Halifax, daughter-in-law Susannah, and grandsons Andrew and Matthew of Manchester, England. Mr. MacMurray spent most of his working career in the investment business as a partner in Eastern Securities Co. Ltd. The latter part of his working years he was Securities Administrator, Secretary of the Public Utilities Board, for the Province of New Brunswick. He served as a director of MRA's, Ltd., New System Laundry and Maritime Beverages Ltd. He was an extremely active member of the Saint John community. Most recently, Mr. MacMurray spearheaded and was President of the restoration of the Lily Lake Pavilion. Throughout his community life he has served as President of the Y's Men's Club, campaign chairman of the United Way, president of Fernhill Cemetery and president of the New Brunswick Museum and served on their board for 25 years. Active in the development of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, Mr. MacMurray was also a president of the New Brunswick Branch of the United Empire Loyalist Association, and President of the Saint John Horticultural Association. As a Mason he was Past Master of Albion Lodge as well as a member of the St. John Lodge of Perfection, Harrington Chapter Rose Croix, 32nd Degree Mason in the New Brunswick Consistory. He was a member of Luxor Temple, Royal Order of Jesters Court as well as Pipe Major of the Shrine Pipe Band for many years. He was active all of his life in the Church of St. Andrew and St. David and served there in many capacities. With the Saint Andrew's Society he was Treasurer and Historian for many years and President in 1967-1968. He was re-elected President in 1998 to chair the 200th Anniversary Celebration of the founding of the Society in 1798. He was President of Saint Andrew's House Inc. He held memberships in the Parrtown Club, Chisholm Lake Fishing Club, Clan Murray Society, N.B. Scottish Cultural Association, Probus Club, Union Club and the Royal United Services Institute. Mr. MacMurray was an active piper in the Caledonian Pipe Band for 20 years. He attended the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design in Fredericton where he received an Honours Certificate in metal in 1991. In 2002 he was the recipient of the Queen's 50th Jubilee Medal in recognition of his volunteer services to his community. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, June 1, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral will be held from the Church of St. Andrew and St. David, Germain Street on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM, with interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery. ELLISON, Albert Henry 1916 - 2008 Bert, Dear, Dad, Grampa or Vroom Vroom as the occasion demanded, slipped away quietly in the early hours of Sunday, May 25, 2008 after a brief struggle following a recent heart attack close to his home in Brampton. Bert will be remembered as a passionate "real-rock" geologist, consummate educator, and dedicated husband and father. Bert had a boundless zeal for knowledge in many disciplines; his enthusiasm for learning inspired all about him. He was also renowned for his sometimes irreverent wit, and a pragmatic and even-handed approach to life that allowed him to see all sides of an issue, political or personal; he often championed the cause of those less fortunate. Bert had a long and satisfying career as a college instructor at SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary. In more than twenty years of teaching Petroleum Geology, Bert made friends and acquaintances at SAIT that remained important to him throughout his life. Bert achieved many accomplishments and adventures in his long life. He remained vital and productive into his nineties, writing articles on geology and documenting his travels throughout Canada, Europe and, most recently, Australia. He was active in his neighbourhood church and the local rock-and-mineral club. Bert is survived by his loving wife Shirley, her daughters Jean (Andy) and Bonnie (Kevin) and their children, and by son Darcy (Paula), daughters Shannon, Erin (Michael), and Kerry (Kevin) and their children. Also surviving are loving sister Rosemary Nickle and former spouse Margaret (nee Burns). A memorial celebration of Bert's life will be held Sunday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. at North Bramalea United Church, Brampton. No flowers please. GRAY, Michael James - Passed away suddenly at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Thursday, May 29, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. George Wesley Wednesday May 28, 2008The funeral service for Constance Lake First Nation resident George R. Wesley, 56, was held May 22, 2008 at the community. He died May 18 at Notre-Dame Hospital. Born Sept. 7, 1951 at Pagwa River, he was a delimber operator for Amik Logging. A devoted grandfather, he was as well a brigade firefighter, hunting guide, angler and outdoorsman. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee Taylor) Wesley in mid-January 2008 and a son Terrance, he leaves a son Daniel (Angela) Wesley of Marten Falls, two sisters, three brothers and 14 grandchildren. Minister Darius Ferris directed the service at Full Gospel Church. Interment followed at the community resting grounds.

RHEAULT, Bernard 1939 - 2008 À la Cité de la Santé, le 21 mai 2008, à l'âge de 68 ans, est décédé le docteur Bernard Rheault. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Cécile Bourgeois, son fils Sylvain (Pam Bristol), sa fille Sylvie (Éric Lachapelle) ainsi que quatre petits-enfants : Vincent, Lilianne, David et Sophie. Il a oeuvré pendant une trentaine d'années comme médecin-cadre pour différents ministères, commissions et comités, ainsi que pour l'organisation des soins de santé aussi bien au Canada qu'au Québec. Parallèlement à ces activités, il a été professeur d'épidémiologie et de biostatistiques à la Faculté des sciences de la santé de l'Université de Montréal et a été professeur invité à Québec, Toronto, Vancouver et en France. À sa demande, il ne sera pas exposé. Les funérailles seront célébrées en présence de ses cendres, le samedi 7 juin à 11 h, en l'église St-Bruno (2287, Aladin, Laval, Qc, H7K 2T6). GRAY, Kathleen - Mary Kathleen Emble was born January 31, 1922 to Annie and Hubert McNaughton in their home north of Maberly, Ontario. She grew up in this area and for a short time in the war years worked in Kingston at the Aluminium plant. On September 16, 1942 she married Harold Gray from Mountain Grove. They raised four children who all married, Hubert (Sylvia), David (Judy), Dale (Merrilie) Gray, Kathy (James) Sauve. They were blessed to have her as their mother and mother-in-law. Kathleen loved her family and always put them first. Her 8 grandchildren Lori (Andrew) Sproule, Ben (Casey) Gray, Jonathan Gray (Katie), Annette (Kurtis) Jackson, Joel (Shannon) Gray, Dean (Tracey) Gray, Sarah Sauve, David (Valerie) Sauve and nine great grandchildren and future ones will miss her dearly. With her passing on May 2, 2008, she will be remembered as being dedicated to family, a hard worker, someone who loved to take pictures, enjoyed visiting with her neighbours and relatives and for her delicious baking. Nora Gower The death of Nora Gower, wife of the late King Gower, occurred on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Saint John Reginal Hospital. Born 1918 in Cocagne, NB, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Lea (Robichaud) Bourgeois. Nora like spending time with her family and friends and travelling. She is survived by 1 son, 4 daughters, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and sisters, Rita Hynes and Theresa Cormier, both of Moncton. Beside her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Emery and Fred Bourgeois; and sister, Helen Richard. A memorial mass was celebrated from Stella Maris Church, Saint John, NB, on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Interment followed in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.

PORTER, Jocelyn Marie - At St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital in Kingston on May 20th, 2008 surrounded by her loving family and friends, at the age of 38 years. Jocelyn was a devoted and loving mother to Cory Porter- Carey, adored sister to Chris Porter, and beloved daughter of Elaine (Smiley) Porter and Rear Admiral (Retired) Tim and Sharon Porter. Jocelyn will be missed by Cory's father, Tim Carey, and all of the Carey family in Australia. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her uncles, aunts, and cousins across Canada and by her dear friends around the world. Her unrelenting quest to heal from brain cancer took place over three years in Kelowna, Nelson, Portland and Kingston. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the medical professionals, the health care workers and administrative staffs in these locations who gave so generously of their skills, time and resources to help her extend her life. TRICK, William Henry WWII Veteran Peacefully in his sleep, at the Ottawa Hospital (General Campus) on May 30th, 2008, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Doris, loving father of Vivian (Richard Thomson), David (Ann Lynch), Keith (Joanne Proulx) and Allen (Leith Coxford). William was born August 21, 1921, in Ottawa. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Arletta, Marilyn, and Edna, brothers Harold and Gerald. He is survived by his youngest brother George (Diane), Langley B.C. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. William (Dad) was a caring gentle man, who loved his family and was loved in return. KESTNER, Vera Mary (nee Reynolds) Vera passed quietly at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Monday, May 26 at the age of 96. Born 1912 in Cape Town, S. Africa, she is predeceased by her loving husband Phil and her brothers and sisters-in-law Don (Molly), Alfred, Kenneth (Fran) and Frank (Peggy). Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and other family and special friends. Vera served with the WACS from 1941 to 1945 and was stationed at Ste. Anne de Bellvue in Montreal. Former employee of Revenue Canada. She also spent many years volunteering at Camp Pontiac, the Salvation Grace Army Hospital and her place of residence, the Unitarian House, as well as driving Cancer patients to and from their appointments. George leaves us to join his beloved wife Joan, who passed away May 14, 2004. In 1976 George, a 69 year old bachelor met and soon married a recently widowed Joan. Together they found love on the dance floor, planned and began their adventurous travels, fitness routines, and hobbies. George also became an instant family man. He leaves behind his step-children Johnny Lefebvre (Marlene), Mary Lefebvre (Doug MacGillivray), Leo Lefebvre (Barbara), and Kitty Langill (Willy). George was the beloved grandfather of Kerry Lefebvre, Kirstin Lefebvre, (Dominic Taylor), Clint Lefebvre (Anne), Jeffrey Szick (Sharyn), Stephanie Szick (Andrew O'Brien), Samantha Lefebvre (Joey Lavoie), Rob Lefebvre (Jenn), Valerie Kealey (Paul), Renee Colley (Ryan), and Anthony Langill. Great-grandfather to Tyler, Carson, Madeline, Jaclyn, Daniella, Jeremy, Skylar, Emma, Andrew and Adam. CARSON, Frederick James “Fred“ - In loving memory of Frederick J. “Fred“ Carson, 84 years, who passed away Friday, May 30th, 2008 at the SRH-St. Joseph's Health Center. Fred was born in Port Credit and married Dorothy (Gilpin) in 1948 in Sudbury. Fred was a machinist at the Nickel Refinery having 43 years service at INCO retiring in 1986. A proud Canadian he served overseas during WWII with the Royal Canadian Navy. He served on the assault landing craft and made landings in Africa, Italy, Sicily and Normandy. He had been a member of Lively Golf Club and the Sudbury Curling Club. He enjoyed the outdoors especially spending time at his camp North of Massey. BENSON, Arvada (nee Fester) July 6,1931 to May 27,2008 - At home, surrounded by her family, on May 27,2008. Arvada was predeceased by husband Larrie and leaves behind daughters Connie Benson (formerly Dixon), Laura Berard and husband Gary, sons Bob and wife Valerie, Colin and partner Elenor, grandchildren Shelly, Brad, Crystal, Tara, Elaine, and Tracey and 7 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by siblings Edna Spencer (Don), Arlene Haskin, Florence Passingham, Violet Langeard and Fred Fester and is predeceased by sister Bernice Knox. Arvada will be fondly remembered for her strong devotion to family and for her love and devotion to nature and its gifts to the soul. Many thanks are extended by the family to Jan Pullar, Dr. Wm. Lucey and staff and to Dr. Sandra Hartman for their kindness and loving care. Special thanks to neice Penny Hallett and family for sharing many years of love, laughter and tender loving care. LEBLANC, JUNE - Mrs. June LeBlanc of Moncton passed away on May 27, 2008 at the age of 73. June will be sadly missed by two daughters, Bonny LeBlanc and Jeff Milton of Albert Mines, and Shyann Watters, and her husband, Dan of Apohaqui; three brothers, James, Robin and Buddy; her sister, Patsy Dupres; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. June was predeceased by her parents, Garfield and Annie (Monteith) Noftell; her husband, Laurie; her daughter, Starr; her brother, Donald; and her sister, Audrey Alberts. A Celebration of June's Life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Sunday June 1st at 2:00pm followed by a time of fellowship with the family.

CSASZAR, William Joseph Zoltan (Billy) - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 79. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Csaszar. He will be fondly remembered by his close friends John Fessler and his wife Helen, Bert Visentin and Helen Bacon and her husband Edward. Bill worked in the United States for fourteen years and was also employed as a Security Guard in Niagara Falls.
