Wonderful father of Mary LaBrecque of Quebec, Simon Pile of Kingston, Alison Hicks (David) of Milford, Jennifer Ackerman (Todd Hamm) of Milford, Diane Pile-Kinnear (Jim) of Red Deer, Alberta. Fun-loving, silly grandpa of Sarah, Rosie, Becky, Olivia, Hannah, Liam, Christopher, Alexander, Michael and Kyle. CLARK, Sterling Austin - Passed away suddenly at London Health Sciences Center on Monday February 4, 2008; Sterling Austin Clark in his 79th year, Loving husband of Joyce (nee Graham). MARKHAM, Thelma Cathren - a resident of Blenheim Community Village Retirement Residence. Thelma Cathren Markham died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Monday February 4, 2008. Thelma was born on the 5th concession of Dover May 5, 1916, only daughter of Pete and Thirsa (Woods) Baillargeon. She attended SS#10 public school and later moved to Dover Centre and then Oldfield Community and from there to Wallaceburg for 17 years before making her permanent residence in Port Lambton. She was very active at Oldfield Church and was president of the UCW for sometime and also president at Port Lambton Sunshine Club. Dear mother of Garda Markham, Chatham; Glenn & Betty Markham, Erie Beach; twin sons Gary Markham, Alberta and Garland Markham, Kitchener. RICE, Samuel James - Sam lived a full and pleasant life. He passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on February 2, 2008 at the Blind River District Health Centre (Golden Birches). Beloved husband of Paulette Rice of Blind River, who was at his side.Loving father of Janet (Shane) McCormick of Spanish and William Rice of Garson. Cherished grandfather of Shanna McCormick of Thunder Bay, Krista (Riick) Beckerton of Spanish, Kyle Rice of Windsor, and Kelcey Rice of Toronto. Great grandfather of Hailey and Kalan Beckerton of Spanish. Also survived by one brother Patrick Rice of Blind River. ROWE - Robert (Bob) - Captain Bob Rowe was born in North Bay, ON where he lived for most of his life. He skippered the Chief Commanda II until 1986. Captain Bob loved the water and therefore could be found plying the waters of Lake Nipissing and the French River. He eventually settled in Saskatchewan with his wife, Lois, but never lost his joy of the water life. Bob was predeceased by his parents, William and Ida (nee Gauthier) Rowe; a brother, Lorne and a sister, Alice. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Lois of Bird's Point, SK; daughter, Rhonda (Rick) Ford of Stockholm, SK; son, Michael (Lenise) Rowe of Qu'Appelle, SK; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Mae (Bryden) Lloyd of Aurora, ON; Edna (Hartley) Ritchie of London, ON and Shirley (Bruce) Robillard of Falconbridge, ON; brother, Garnet (Marj) Rowe of Hamilton, ON and a number of nieces and nephews. KIEHNA, Margaret Rubena - Margaret Rubena Kiehna (Boyes) passed away peacefully at the Temiskaming Lodge, Haileybury ON, on Sunday, February 03, 2008 in her 99th year. She was pre- deceased by her husband Herbert of 63 years, in June 2000, and her brother Roy in 2005. She is survived by her loving daughters Doris Cole (George), North Bay, Judith Brownlee (Arnold), Englehart and Margaret Tibbles (Don), Port Perry. Rubena was the loving grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 16. Born in Toronto May 25, 1909 to James and Sophia (Buck) Boyes. The family moved to Northern Ontario when she was 3 years old. A victim of polio, she refused to let that prevent her from living her life to the fullest. She was one of the oldest survivors of that disease. Rubena will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, educator, seamstress, organist, friend and active member of the communities where she lived. The date of the service is incomplete at this time. PIGEAU/GUILLEMETTE, Betty Doreen - Passed away peacefully at St Joseph's Hospital in Sudbury Feb 2 2008. Beloved wife of Henri Pigeau (deceased) and Joseph Guillmette (deceased). Predeceased by her parents Eric and Ethel Cheasley from Surrey, England and her daughter Dawn Kingaby nee [Pigeau] (Alan) and Suzanne Pigeau (Brian) She is survived by her Sister Beryl Stokes and brother George Cheasley both still in England, Garth [Fay] Pigeau, Chisholm. Brian Pigeau, Calgary, Norm [Judie] North Bay. David [Vicky] Winnipeg and Bernadette [Mauro] Picco of Hanmer. Betty will be sadly missed by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Betty came to Canada in 1966 from England to raise her family. She continued her career as a nurse at North Bay Psychiatric Hospital until she retired. She enjoyed her life to the fullest through her volunteer work with the War brides of Canada, Past president of the Ladies auxiliary of the Callander Legion #449 and Member of the St. John's Therapy Dogs in Sudbury. LENNOX, Roy Esten April 16, 1924 February 2, 2008 - Passed away suddenly, but peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his beloved wife Evelyn. Loving Dad of son Tom (and his wife Linda), daughter Linda (and her husband Fred), Son Robert (and his wife Margaret), son Steven (Predeceased 2003) (and his wife Marie). Proud Grandpa of Martin and Katherine Lennox, Laura (Jeremy), Paul (Carrie) and Neal Haughton, Richard and Mark Lennox, Maxx and Axton Lennox. Roy lived as a great example to family and friends of how to live with dignity, grace, kindness, generosity and love. He enjoyed with his family and friends golfing, wintering in Florida, fishing, sharing a good meal and a dry martini and watching sports events with a beer and munchies. Roy met all of his health challenges with determination and strong spirit. He was true, loyal and kind to all those who met him on the path of their lives. He leaves us here on earth to join souls he held close to his heart who left before him. We will miss Roy to our ending days. Words cannot convey our sorrow and love for the spirit of our Roy Boy. Wherever you are today, raise a glass to those you love and revel in their presence. In keeping with Roy's wishes, cremation has taken place. MANN, Robert “Bob“ Elwood - Passed away at Meadows of Dorchester on Tuesday February 5, 2008 at the age of 68. Beloved husband of 35 years to Marguerite (St. Louis) Mann. Dearly loved father of Jacques (Colleen) Mann. Loving grandfather of Zachary, Abigail and Crystal . Dear brother of Doug (Isabel), Richard, Jim, Carl (Linda) and Don (Bonnie). Bob was born and raised in Chippawa and served five years in the navy before becoming a volunteer firefighter. He was also a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 396 in Chippawa. He retired from General Motors after thirty years of service and he also coached boys softball. WARD, Beverley W. - On Tuesday February 5, 2008, Beverley W. Ward, 93 years of age, beloved husband of the late Edna (Ted) Youngblut Ward, loving father of Bruce and his wife Madeleine, Niagara Falls, dear grandfather of Bradley and Beverly Ann ward, and Rhiannon, Sam and Hilary Clifford. Bev is predeceased by his parents, George and Sarah Ward, by 7 sisters and 3 brothers and a daughter-in- law, Emily A. Ward. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Lavina Blatchford, Stratford, and by many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his extended family at Lundy Manor. Bev served with the Canadian Armed Forces in Canada, U.K., France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. He worked for Kaumeyer Paper Products for 9 years and then for the Niagara Falls Bridge Commissions for over 20 years, and was a member of Branch No. 51 of the Royal Canadian Legion and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
