Born in Bildt, the Netherlands on January 5, 1916. The family immigrated to Canada in 1949. She was predeceased by her husband Jan Karel on August 1, 1993 and had outlived her two sisters Doutje Postma and Kee Fopma and all brothers and sisters-in-law in the Netherlands. Dear mother of son Stan (Stendert) (Beth), Mitchell, daughters Amy (Imkje) Pribac (Bill), Clinton Twp., MI and Aukje Roe (John), Mitchell. OUELLETTE, Gérard (Propriétaire de la clinique de denturologie Gérard Ouellette pendant plus de 60 ans) de Gatineau, décédé subitement en République Dominicaine, le samedi 28 janvier 2006, à l'âge de 77 ans. Il était l'époux bien-aimé de Yvette Paquin; le fils de feu Joseph Ouellette et de feu Marie-Louisa Montreuil. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans la peine ses 2 enfants: Chantal et Jean (Nicole ainsi que son petit ange Julien); ses 4 petits-enfants adorés: Jean-Michel, Yan, Krystel et Gabriel. Il fut prédécédé par sa soeur Cécile (feu Maurice Bélanger) et par ses frères: Paul-Emile (feu Dorilda), René (Lina), Fernand, Marcel, Jean-Rhéal (Georgette), Conrad (Colette), Maurice (Nicole) et Jacques. STEWART, Gordon Francis "Frank" Frank Stewart passed away peacefully at the Beverley Centre, Midnapore, on Saturday morning, February 25 at th age of 93 years. He was predeceased by Kay, his loving wife, at the age of 91 in 2001. His only daughter, Norma Crane, also predeceased him twelve months ago. He is lovingly remembered by his son-in-law Jim Crane, Lorne and Sharon Lamond, Jeannie MoHogen, Calvin and Jane Adair, Ina Adair, Marian and Jim Hackman, Norma and Brenda Way, Linda and Barrie Elliot and friend Edna McCool. Frank was very active in the Seniors' Club of Calgary and he will be remembered by his friends with whom he played cards at the "Go Getters", "Bow Cliff" and the Kensington and Centennial Legions. He loved to travel and he went on many trips and cruises with his wife and daughter and most recently with Jim. He was a postman most of his working life and he had been retired since the mid 1960's. He loved to play darts as well and had many trophies to prove his skill. He was as Veteran of World War II and a very active member of the Legion. Jim would like to thank the staff at the Beverly Centre, Midnapore for their genuine care and love. There will be no Funeral Service for Frank as this was his wish. He donated his body to science at the Health Science Centre and he will be laid to rest beside his wife in Queensland Cemetery. Beloved husband of Dirce (Toneguzzo) Simonato of Sudbury. Loving father of Mario (wife Lynn), Marilyn and Nevia all of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Amanda and Ryan. Dear son of Vergilio and Emma (Martinis) Simonato predeceased. Dear brother of Onoria (husband Luigi Blaseotto) and Antonietta (husband Rino Zadro) both of Italy. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Morsano al Tagliamento, Perdenone, Italy, he married Dirce (Toneguzzo) in Italy in 1949. Tito came to Sudbury in 1951 from Italy. He was a skilled mason who co-owned and operated Nickel Belt Masonry for many years. A Roman Catholic, he belonged to Holy Trinity Church. He was a life member of the Caruso Club and the Foglar Furlan Association. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a good gardener and an excellent wine maker, and salami maker. An accomplished handyman, he enjoyed doing repairs around the house or helping others. The focus of his life was his loving family. CARR, Kenneth L. "Bud" 1921 - 2006 Bud Carr passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on February 26, 2006 after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Bud was born to Kenneth and Vesta Carr on April 30, 1921 in Calgary, Alberta. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II and was proud of his accomplishments. Bud worked at the Calgary Brewery in his youth then continued on to become Chief Meter Reader with Canadian Western Natural Gas. Bud retired from the Gas Company in 1982 but stayed in touch with many of his co-workers through his golf and bowling. Bud was a gentle soul and enjoyed everyone he met throughout his wonderful life. He valued his family above all else and his family in turn, treasured his unconditional love. He was the greatest husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend a person could ask for. DUNPHY, Shirley Joan (nee MacKenzie) Died in Peterborough on Friday, February 17, 2006 after a brave battle with cancer. Cherished wife of Kerry John for 53 years. Loving mother to Sharon. I was so blessed to be her daughter. She helped me navigate through the grief of my father's death last summer. Mom had a clarity of purpose to protect me with her enormous love. She became my grandmother, my sister, and always my best friend. Her mother died when she was 5 years old but her splendid father Mac and gentle grandmother gave her a happy childhood. Places Shirley lived, Toronto, Kincardine, Barrie, Arnprior, Ottawa and Peterborough knit together a rich quilt of memories. In Toronto she was a model for Eatons Fashion and attended Victoria College. By romantic fate she met my dad at an exhuberant dance at City Hall. Summers spent at cottages on Lake Huron and later on the Rideau River held a pleasant sense of timelessness. In Ottawa Shirley was a librarian and teacher but her contentment came from being a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking and decorating. Her domestic rituals made holidays delightful. Mom made me photo albums and sent me precious letters, poetry and treats while I attended Trent. My parents moved to Peterborough to be close to me. Though mom became physically limited and frail her bright beautiful mind travelled effortlessly. My mother was a kind lady who kept her faith in people and in God even after enduring much pain and suffering. She was a good and gracious woman with a genuine interest in people and their lives. Those beautiful big brown luminous eyes would give you her complete attention. Her pain never eclipsed her desire to make you smile or laugh by saying something unpredictable. We could do with a bit more of her magic in this world. She brought me into this world and I was fortunate to be able to hold her as she continued her journey through, towards God's outstretched arms, to meet again with her proud beloved father, mother, grandmother, her two sons Shawn and Patrick and husband Kerry. Special thanks to those people who gave of their time and hearts - to Susan and Terry O'Toole, good neighbours, to Dr. Silverberg for weekly home visits, to Brenda and family and to Blair Hamilton for his generosity, kindness and love. PALMER, Jack 1951 - 2006 John "Jack" Francis Palmer of Calgary, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the age of 54 years. Besides his loving partner, Bonnie Clovis, Jack is remembered by his children, Kirsten and Cody Palmer.
