LITHWICK, Norman At the Civic Hospital on Monday, January 9, 2006, in his 83rd year. Brother of Sarah Green (Sidney deceased) and Sidney Lithwick (Ida) and uncle to the Hon. Mr. Justice Melvyn Green (Allison), Howard Lithwick (Carol), Arlene Green (Glenn), Henry Green (Lynda), Marilyn Kohn (Harry), Kalman Green (June) and Helene Huot (Charles) and many great nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents Abraham and Dora Lithwick and his brother Harold Lithwick. Norman was a long time resident at Hillel Lodge. A Graveside Service will be held at the Jewish Community Cemetery, Bank Street on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. Shiva at Hillel Lodge with visitation on Thursday, January 12, 2006 only, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. Thanks so much to the wonderful caring staff of Hillel Lodge and to the private health care nurses and other attendants from Gem Health Care Services Inc. and the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Ottawa Hospital. WALKER, Stanley Garnet (Stan) W.W.II Vet R.C.A.F. Former Owner Walker Signs - Gladstone Ave. Passed away peacefully at his home in Parksville, B.C. on January 5, 2006 at the age of 85. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Hazel; his beloved daughter Melanie; brother Frank of Ashton, Ontario and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Margaret (Norquay); brothers, Jim and Bob and one sister Marge (Armstrong). He was born in 1920 in Ottawa, where he spent most of his life until retiring to British Columbia in 1973 and again in 1983. His remaining years were spent pursuing the sport of fishing. Stan was also an avid golfer in his younger years being a member at the prestigious Rivermead Golf Course. You will be forever missed. We love you. KEMERY, Annie Viola Edith (nee Hogg) 1934 - 2006 Annie Viola Edith (Anne) Kemery (nee Hogg), beloved wife of Leo Kemery of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the age of 71 years. Anne was born on December 12, 1934 in Lymburn, AB and raised in Longview. She married Leo in 1961 and they raised their family in High River and Calgary. Anne was a tireless, conscientious and hardworking person who took life seriously. At the same time she greatly appreciated gardens, flowers, and other works of creation. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, since 1972, she actively served God, sharing her hope with others of a paradise earth, under God's kingdom rule. It was this hope that sustained her during the last two-and-a-half months of illness. Besides her loving husband Leo, she is remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Grace Kemery of Ottawa, ON; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Simon Reed of Calgary, AB; and grandchildren, Briana and Joshua Kemery of Ottawa, ON. Anne is also survived by Bill and Alix Hogg of Grande Prairie, AB; Albert Hogg of Calgary; Rosalie and Garth Koll of Beaverlodge, AB; Roy Hogg of Grande Prairie, AB; and Rhonda and Ernie Yaskowich of Calgary. Mr. John Arthur Nevison November 29, 1914 - January 05, 2006 Funeral arrangements by Richmond Funeral Home Passed away peacefully at Rosewood manor in Richmond, on the morning of January 5, 2006. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margery; their two daughters and their familyies: Mary Dale (Roy) and son Jeffrey of Richmond, and Margot (Paul) and children Andrew, Marshall, Cassandra and Matthew of Ontario. Also survived by his sister Myrne, brother Jim, sister-in-law June and many nieces and nephews. Jack's (Nevis') priorities were always his family and friends. With these special people his good health and his positive attitude, he enjoyed a wonderful life. No greater display of his compassionate nature was when he stood in the background and allowed "Mommy" to shine. His dry sense of humour sparked many discussions and brought smiles on the faces of others. He will be sadly missed. There will be no service by request. Janet Collicutt February 19, 1928 - January 07, 2006 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home On Saturday, January 7, Betty, our mom, passed away at Heritage Lodge, where she had resided for the last three years. She was 77 years of age. Mom was born in Winnipeg and grew up in St. James. She lived most of her life in the city’s West End, on Strathcona St., where she and her husband, Bill, raised their family. She was predeceased by her daughter Lori (1970) and husband, Bill (1999), by her brothers Bob and Harry, and by faithful friend, Charlie. She will be missed by her daughter Janet Storey (Ken) and granddaughters Jennifer and Kate; son Bill Collicutt and granddaughter Colleen and great-grandson Reid; son Doug Collicutt (Valorie) and grandsons Adam and Daniel; and daughter Caroline Johnson (Dave) and grandsons Michael and James; and by many other relatives and friends. Betty spent most of her career at Metropolitan Life, managing the office staff at several branches over the years. She taught Sunday school at Chalmer’s United Church and volunteered as a leader in the Explorers program for many years. After retiring she volunteered at Children’s Hospital, developing and presenting an in-school program to help young children understand hospitals and medical procedures. Mom was a talented artist and leaves behind many fine paintings and drawings. She also enjoyed ceramics and sewing and wrote marvelous "Blue Bunny" stories for her grandchildren. Family vacations at Star Lake have left us all with treasured memories. Our deepest thanks go to the staff at Heritage Lodge who took care of our mom with kindness and genuine affection. Mr. Henryk "Henry" Garlinski August 07, 1942 - January 4, 2006 Funeral arrangements by Richmond Funeral Home of Richmond, BC, passed away January 4th, 2006 at The Richmond Hosptial after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 63 years. Born in Przeradz Maly, Poland on August 7th, 1942, he was the son of the late Josef and Stanislawa (Rozycki) Garlinski, and the loving husband of Teresa (Szulc) Garlinski. Henry was a mechanical engineer by training and he spent fifteen years working as a chief mechanic on deep sea fishing vessels around the world. Upon his arrival in Canada in February 1981, he worked on commerical salmon fishing vessels in Northern British Columbia. Most recently, he was a Maintenance Supervisor at CLS Catering in Richmond, BC. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife Teresa, his children and their families: son, Grzegorz of Richmond, BC and his son Marcin of Gdynia, Poland; daughter, Alicja and her husband Mathew Parker and their daughter Adeline Natalia of Vancouver, BC; his sisters and their families: Irena and Albin Mierzwiak and their children, Beata, Lech and Jaroslaw, all of Zuromin, Poland, and Krystyna and Kazimierz Kacprzyk of Orenta, Poland. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 4451 Williams Road, Richmond, BC on Wednesday, January 11th, 2006 at 10:30 am. Father David Poirier, SA, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Henry's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Ethel Loleta Beckman January 30, 1915 - January 08, 2006 Funeral arrangements by Glenwood Funeral Home On January 8th, 2006 Mrs. Ethel Loleta Beckman passed away at the age of 90 years. She is lovingly remembered by her children, David Beckman (Elizabeth Turner), Darlene (Ross) Crawford, Elaine (Hugh) Stewart, Carol (Harvey) Schultz, Bert (Gail) Beckman and Deborah (Mervin) Gallant; 17 grandchildren, Lorne, Lyle, Monica, Kalea, Doug, Rob, Karen, Gordon, Heather, Cameron, Craig, Brent, Bernadine, Stephen, Kristi, Elisabeth and Constance, 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and John Helm; one sister, Viola Davis. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Howard in 1981. Ethel was a devoted mother and grandmother and blessed us all with her love. She was a founding member of the Central Alberta Radio League, a lifetime member of the Northern Alberta Radio Club and had amateur radio friends worldwide. Ethel was a faithful member of the United Church. A celebration of Ethel's life will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park. Interment will follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens. The family wish to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. James Adams and Dr. Edward Gee for their kind and compassionate care. SAMPSON, DORIS ALEINE - Peacefully, at the John M Parrott Center in Napanee on January 9th, 2006. She will be dearly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Shari Sampson of Adolphustown, daughter Daylene, her husband Keith and her two grandchildren Ellen and Ian Ebbs of Alberta and her son Cedric Sampson.In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. HENSHAW, Gerald Robert "Gerry" Gerry Henshaw passed away peacefully in Calgary on January 6, 2006 at the age of 70 years. He is the beloved father of Lorelei Stefanyshyn and grandfather to Laine and Reece; also by daughters, Sheila-Ann Rodgers, Geraldine (Garry) Johnson and grandson Andy, and Tangy (Ken) Epp. Gerry is also survived by his life partner Eileen Lozo; a sister Audrey Flynn; and three brothers, Jack, Don and Lawrence Frosst; as well as many nieces and nephews. Born on February 24, 1935, Gerry grew up in Bear River, Nova Scotia. He joined the Canadian Army in 1957 and was posted to Calgary. He, more recently, owned and operated the House of Hair Fashion until his retirement. Gerry's greatest love was classic cars. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. TROMBLEY, Robert D. In hospital, Kingston on Sunday January 8th, 2006. peacefully surrounded by his family, Robert D. Trombley of Perth (retired after 39 years of dedicated service to Ontario Hydro). Son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Duncan) Trombley, cherished husband of 46 years to Margaret M. (McKinnon) Trombley; loved and respected father and grandfather of Nancy (Gary) Warren and their children Sara and Scott Warren and Robert (Kim) Trombley and their son Joshua; he will be sadly missed by his only brother Jim Trombley, all his family and many friends. The visitation will be held privately for the family. Everyone is welcome to join with the family in St. Paul's United Church, Perth Tuesday January 10th, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. for a service to commemorate Bob's life. AVM Murray D. Lister CD Born in Edmonton, died in his 94th year at Niagara-on-the-Lake on January 7, 2006. Husband of Elizabeth Dailley and father to Murray (Barb), Jaye, and Sydney (Marvin) Swanson, stepfather to Elizabeth (Merlyn) McArthur, Lynne, John Heaman, grandfather to ten and great-grandfather to seven. Murray served his country with pride and distinction and his family with unconditional love. He began his military career in 1928 when he joined the Canadian Army Militia in the cavalry, pursuing his love of horses. He attended the Royal Military College in Kingston, and on graduation in 1935 was granted a commission in the RCAF. When war broke out in 1939 he was on a training posting in England. He was immediately recalled to Canada to join the tiny band of Canadians able to begin to train and prepare aircrew to respond to Britain's urgent call "...if the war was to be won"; the foundation of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. He spent the war years establishing training programs and bases across Canada including Trenton, Mountain View, Winnipeg, Lethbridge, Vancouver and Tofino. Subsequently he was posted to the Pacific Theatre. After the war he was Commanding Officer at the training base at Centrailia, near London, Ontario. He was involved with the National Defence College in Kingston first as student and later as instructor. Subsequently posted to London England where he was party to the creation of NATO. During his many years in Ottawa as a senior officer he contributed to the development of the DEW line and the formation of NORAD. He served with NORAD as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations. His last post before retirement in 1966 was Chief of Canadian Air Defence, St. Hubert, Quebec. Murray's zest for life knew no bounds. In his youth he won a gold medal for skating and later played golf, croquet, rode, sailed, canoed, to say nothing of piloting an aircraft at age ninety. A memorial service to celebrate Murray's life will take place at St Mark's Church, 41 Byron Street, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday January 11, 2006. OBITUARY RAYMOND WILLIAM JOHN WOODS 1920 - 2006 Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2006 in his eighty-sixth year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Nan Woods. Brother to Ethel Hillen Turnbull. Father of June (Yvon), John (Kathleen), Donald (Lynn), Lorna (Franklin), and Valerie (Danny). After a long and prosperous life, he faced his final illness with the courage and determination of the proud soldier that he was. SIDOCK, Arthur "Art" Simon In loving memory of Arthur "Art" Simon Sidock, 84 years, who passed away Friday, January 6th, 2006 in Espanola. Beloved husband of Kathleen (Morrish) Sidock of Espanola. Loving father of Dennis (wife Nancy) of Espanola, Gregory (wife Elise) of Elliot Lake, and Alan (wife Joanne) of Copper Cliff. Cherished grandfather of Krista, Dereck, Bradley, Jamie Lynn, Nicholas, Alexandra and great- grandchild Carson. Dear son of Joseph and Josephine Sidock both predeceased. Born in Little Rapids, Ont., he married Kathleen in Parry Sound, in 1946. Art served overseas during World War II as a Lance Corporal with the Canadian Army. He was a member of the War Pensioners of Canada. Art was active with the Espanola Minor Hockey Association, and a Life Member and Past-President of the Espanola Curling Club. He owned and operated Art Sidock Plumbing and Heating Ltd for 40 years, retiring in 1982.
