Ann Marie Edwards -- November 14, 1958 - December 13, 2005 -- WOODSTOCK- Ann Marie Edwards age 47, of Red Cedar Road, Woodstock, died unexpectedly Monday morning at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Edwards, Jr. They were married in 1998. She was born November 14, 1958 in Putnam, daughter of Madeleine (Mandeville) Dion of Webster, MA and the late Leo Dion, Jr. She was a Registered Nurse, working for Hospice of Northeastern Connecticut as the Senior Hospice Nurse for the last 22 years. She has been a Certified Hospice Nurse for the last 10 years. She had made her home in Putnam and Woodstock all her life. She was active with many committees at Day Kimball Hospital. In 2004, Ann was Day Kimball Hospital's "Employee of the Year". She was a loving and caring wife, daughter, mother, nana, sister and friend. She enjoyed having large family gatherings and barbecues, her family and friends always came first. She leaves in addition to her husband and mother, her children: Damion Edwards of Woodstock; Gia Dion of Woodstock; Kryisha Clinton of Webster, MA; her grandchildren: Markeith; Jaden; Scisha; Tavaris; Adrian; her brothers: Ronald Dion of Putnam; Michael Dion of Amston; Mark Dion of Southwick, MA and many friends. Glorian Joyce St. Germain, 83, of Cloquet died on Friday, Dec. 9, 2005 in Duluth, Minn. She was born on Sept. 18, 1922 in Cloquet to Frank and Hilda (Peterson) Erickson. She graduated from Cloquet High School in 1940. Glorian was formerly employed by the Cloquet Hospital. She was preceded in death by her son, Gordon; her parents; a brother, LeRoy Erickson; sisters, Veronica Kesti, Phyllis Moilanen, Myrtle Wisneski, Lauretta Bergquist and Gladys Jacob. Glorian is survived by her granddaughters, Karen Lund and Anita DeLuca; three great grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Huntoon and Dorothy Reynolds; also several nieces and nephews. WATERVILLE -- Cecile Girard, 93, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at Inland Hospital. She was born Nov. 23, 1912, in St. Prosper, Quebec, the daughter of Joseph and Mathilda (Langelier) Grenier. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, the Sunshine Club and was a longtime resident of Seton Village and was very active in the Seton Village Community. For the past 14 months, she resided with her daughter in Sidney. She enjoyed playing cards and especially loved her trips to Las Vegas. She loved her bird and her daughter's dog. She was predeceased by a son, Robert, and husband Francis "Ted" Girard. Surviving are four sons, Arthur Girard of Lake Elsore, Calif., Norman Girard of Stafford Springs, Conn., William Girard of Chandler, Ariz. and Theodore Girard of Heathrow, Fla.; three daughters, Shirley Brennen of Zephyrhills, Fla., Helen Graham of Marietta, Calif., and Constance Grant of Sidney; and a brother, Raymond Grenier of Winslow; 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Dr. Girouard was a native of Broussard and a lifelong resident of Lafayette. For the last few years of his life, he was a resident of Pulaski, Tenn. Dr. Girouard was a graduate of St. Cecilia High School in Broussard, La., The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, State University Medical School, Tulane University and Oschners Medical School.Prior to his retirement, he practiced as an OB/GYN for 15 years and was also a radiologist for 17 years. Dr. Girouard was a partner of the Southwest Medical Center, formerly known as Hamilton Medical Group, in Lafayette.Dr. Girouard was a veteran of military service, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Community in Broussard.Survivors include one daughter, Karen Scarborough and her husband, Ben, of The Woodlands, Texas; two sons, David Girouard and his wife, Mindy of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and John Girouard, of Lafayette, La.; and five grandchildren, Reneé Girouard, Casey Girouard, Ryan, Seth and Anna Scarborough.He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jo Ann Lewis; his parents, Elton and Buelah Langlinais Girouard, both natives of Broussard; one brother, Danny J. Christine L. (Lanza) Benoit Blanchette, 47, died Saturday, December 10 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was the wife of Edward Blanchette. Born in Boston, she was a longtime resident of Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton High School. She had been a resident of Nashua, NH for the past 7 years. Mrs. Blanchette was the office coordinator for Situation Management for the past 5 years. In her free time, she enjoyed ceramics, boating and spending time at her lake house. In addition to her husband Edward, she is survived by her 3 sons: Peter C. Benoit of FL, Christopher R. Benoit and Richard F. Burns both of NH. She also leaves her parents: Barbara (Corbett) Chisholm of E. Wareham and Samuel Lanza of NV. She was the sister of Mike Lanza of NV, Beverly Blaine of Rockland, Robert Lanza of Clinton and Louise Davis of Hanson. She was the grandmother of Gianna and Blake Kolesnik and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lucille Y. (Dufresne) Eckert, 72, beloved wife of Teddy A. Eckert, of Ward Street, Ext., Wallingford, died Sunday, (December 11, 2005) at the UCONN Medical Center in Farmington. Born in Williston, VT, November 12, 1933, a daughter of the late Napoleon and Valerie (LaPierre) Dufresne, she had been a resident of Williston until entering the U.S. Army in 1954. After her honorable discharge from the service she moved from Vermont to Middletown, and was employed by UTC-Pratt & Whitney Division from November 8, 1966, to June 30, 1989. She had been a Wallingford resident for the past 20 years. She was a parishioner of SS. Peter & Paul Church in Wallingford. She enjoyed golfing with the Recreation and Seniors Leagues and sewing various landscape scenes and cars, which she incorporated into framed pictures and quilts. Besides her husband Teddy, she is survived by her four children from a previous marriage, Ronald F. Klick, Jr. and his wife Debra of Somersworth, NH, Karen E. Terapane of South Deerfield, MA, Steven L. Klick and his wife Cari of Portland, and Denise L. Porto and her husband Jeffrey of Meriden; nine grandchildren; five sisters, Jeannette Lynch of Windsor, VT, Laurette Hunter of Malone, NY, Florette Berg of Greenland, NH, Helen Thompson of Senaca Falls, NY and Ida Harvey of Richmond, VT; her step children, Teddy A. Eckert, II and his wife Colleen of East Lyme, and Alan T. Eckert and his wife Leticia of Wallingford; and many nieces and nephews. CASWELL - Lucienne M. Roy, 85, died Dec. 11, 2005, at her residence in Caswell. She was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Clair, N.B., Canada, the daughter of Amidas and Alvine (Marquis) Bouley. Mrs. Roy had been employed as a processor at Interstate Foods and Birds Eye plants for 27 years. She was a communicant at St. Louis Catholic Church in Limestone and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. TROY - Joan Rynecky Laviolette., 74, of 21st Street, died peacefully at home on Sunday, December 11, 2005. Born in Troy on March 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Chester Rynecky and Grace Dimnick Rynecky and was the wife of John L. "Jack" Laviolette for 51 years. A lifelong Troy resident, she was a graduate of St. Peter's School and Catholic Central High School, class of 1949. Mrs. Laviolette was a homemaker and proud mother most of her life. She also worked as clerk with General Electric Credit Corp. in Albany and the state Department of Taxation and Finance. Most recently she worked for Cohoes Fashions in Cohoes and Crossgates, retiring in 2004. She enjoyed shopping and helping her five grandchildren, whom she loved and cherished. Survivors, in addition to her husband Jack, include her three beloved sons, J. Michael Laviolette (Joan) of Troy, Thomas J. "T.J." Laviolette (Jean) of Livingston, MT, and Craig S. Laviolette (Kim) of Guilderland; two sisters; Marilyn Essegian (the late Joe) of Villa Rica, GA, and Patricia Petoniak (Joe) of Glenmont. She was the adored grandmother of Michael, Kristie, Audrey Renee, Sarah and Jacob Laviolette. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was the son of the late Dominique and Elise (Levesque) St.Laurent. PELHAM -- Raymond J. Briere, 87, of Pelham and formerly of Dracut, who was a retired machinist and a World War II veteran, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 10, at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence. He was the husband of Dorothy (Brunelle) Briere, who died Nov. 30, 2000.He was born in Dracut, Aug. 4, 1918, son of the late Joseph and Louise (Carignan) Briere. He received his education in the Dracut school system.A veteran of World War II, he served in the Merchant Marines.Before retiring, Mr. Briere was a machinist at Standard-Thompson Manufacturing Co., in Waltham for more than 25 years.Mr. Briere was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Pelham.An avid golfer, he was a former member of Long Meadow Golf Club. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Richard Mottolo of North Reading, Mass.; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. and Marion Briere of North Richland Hills, Texas; a granddaughter, Lara Mottolo of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandsons and their wives, Anthony and Mary Mottolo of Wilmington, Mass. and Joseph M. and Stefani Briere of Ballwin, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Peter A. SHEFFIELD -- Theresa L. Brazie, 76, of 226 Miller Ave. died Sunday at home. Born in Great Barrington on July 30, 1929, daughter of Ezelias and Antoinette Mercier Larrivee, she attended the former Bryant School and was a 1947 graduate of the former Searles High School. She also attended Berkshire Community College. Mrs. Brazie was an EKG technician and secretary at Fairview Hospital from 1947 until her retirement in 1994. Prior to that, she was a telephone operator at the former Great Barrington Telephone Exchange until 1965, and a waitress at Elm Court in South Egremont from 1965 until 1974. She was a volunteer at the Sheffield and Great Barrington senior centers and a member of the Sheffield Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, horses and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Brazie, who died in October of 1985. She leaves a son, Ronald L. Brazie Sr. of North Egremont; three daughters, Patricia Jean Carlson and Rose Anne Brazie, both of Sheffield, and Charlene Mary Brazie of Pittsfield; two brothers, Herbert Larrivee of Pittsfield and Francis Larrivee of Natural Bridge, N.Y.; a sister, Rita Lantz of Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Donna Marie Goewey, died Nov. 1, 2001. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Theresa L. WESTFIELD – Clarence G. Duval, 85, of Westfield, died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at a local nursing home. He was born November 14, 1920 in Westfield, son of the late Arthur and Rossanna (Provost) Duval. Clarence was a 1940 graduate of Westfield Trade School, and was employed as a plate maker for National Blank Book in Holyoke for sixteen years, retiring in 1986. He also worked for Anderson & Sons in Westfield for twenty-one years. Clarence was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theater and was a member and Chaplain of both VFW Post 1847 and American Legion Post 454, both in Westfield. Clarence also worked at the Flower Shop in Westfield and was a member of the Westfield Y.M.CA., where he was an avid swimmer. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Atonement in Westfield. He leaves his wife of fifty-four years, Phyllis L. (Liberty) Duval and his children, Russell W. Duval and Bruce A. Duval both, of Westfield. He also leaves his grandchildren, Danean, Jason, Robert, Jennifer, Bethany, and Anna; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Jocelyn, Marisa and Alison. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 am in the Church of the Atonement, 36 Court St., Westfield, with interment to follow at 11am at the Massachusetts Memorial Veterans' Cemetery in Agawam. BUREAU, ROSETTA E., 82, formerly of Windsor Road, died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at Saint Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Robert R. Bureau. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Rose (Muldoon) Morrissey. She had lived most of her life in Pawtucket before moving to N. Smithfield three years ago. Mrs. Bureau worked for Mercury Print & Mail of Pawtucket for three years, retiring in 1988.She is survived by a son Joseph R. Bureau of Cumberland; three brothers, Leo F. Morrissey, Jr. of Pawtucket, Gerald J. Morrissey of Beneveld, New York and Lawrence W. Morrissey of Cumberland; a sister, Margaret Morrison of Pawtucket. She was the sister of the late Shirley Kay.The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Costigan O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Leo The Great Church, 699 Central Avenue, Pawtucket. Howard Smith May 23, 1943 - December 10, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home It is with great sadness that the family of Howard Smith announces his passing at Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg. Howard will be missed by his son, Kenneth and daughter, Donna; three grandchildren, Blaine, Samantha, and Benjamin; his mother, June; and his brother, Alan; along with many childhood friends. Howard was born and raised in Winnipeg and always loved this city. Although his travels took him all over the world, he always came back to the place he considered his home. Howard spent over 32 years working for the government. He began with the Department of Transportation as a Radio Operator and worked his way up. By the end of his career, through his hard work and dedication, he was a Director for Communications Canada. Due to the onset of his MS, Howard had to retire early. He spoke fondly of his experiences, but his greatest memories of his work were of the people he worked with and the friendships he made. Before his illness Howard loved to golf and curl and did both on a regular basis with the same group of friends. He loved to read and did so until he was unable due to the MS. Howard always loved classical music, Inuit art and the history of the prairies and surrounded himself with all three. Howard's family wishes to express their gratitude to all the Home Care workers who were a part of his life for so many years. Without their caring and compassion Howard would not have been able to remain in his home throughout his illness. Thank you for allowing Howard his wish to remain at home until his short hospital stay and passing. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, Winnipeg, MB. Internment to follow. Eileen Marion Neumann January 31, 1916 - December 12, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) Eileen Neumann, much loved wife and mother, passed away quietly Monday, Dec. 12/05 after a long illness, joining beloved husband Ted, who predeceased her in l993. Eileen leaves to cherish her memory daughters: Carol (Thad), Donna (Peter); treasured grandchildren: Guy, Todd, Paige (Miles), Kelsey (Tom), Kaitlin and Ted. A native Calgarian, Eileen completed a B.Comm at the University of Alberta, where she met Ted and moved with him as his career led to such varied cities as Lethbridge, Calgary, Vancouver (one of her favorite places) and Edmonton, finally returning to her Calgary roots where she has remained for the past twenty years. Eileen has left a legacy of indomitable personal strength, integrity, and devotion to her family. Her warm smile and encompassing love established a firm foundation upon which the family will continue to build. A special thanks to the staff of Wentworth where Eileen spent the past three years, Dr. Fred Moriarity and staff of Rockyview Hospital, Unit 59 and very special thanks to Dr. John Coppola who has guided Mom and supported her family so compassionately during her last few years.
