Gloria Martin (Newman) of Barrie in her 67th year was the beloved wife of Jack Martin of Barrie. Dear mother of Ed Boutilier & his wife Cindy of Caledon, Laura Bradley & her husband Rick of Oakville, Kimberley Erev & her husband Eli of Phoenix, Arizona, Wendy Panetta & her husband Cosimo of Maple and Tracy Martin & her huband Tom of Barrie. Metzger: Shirley May Shirley May Metzger passed away on November 28, 2005, after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 66 years. The loving wife of Dave for 47 years; mother to Tracy (Tara), Gerry, Vern, and Daryl; and beloved grandmother to Jason, Melissa, and Matthew; and a sister to Jimmy Parker. YARMOUTHPORT - Lorraine A. (Bachand) Lundegren, 75, died Saturday at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. She was the wife of Edward F. Lundegren, who died in 1972. They were married in 1956. Mrs. Lundegren was born in Woonsocket, R.I., and raised and educated in Bourne. She graduated from Bourne High School in 1948, where she was class valedictorian and captain of the field hockey team. She earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Bridgewater State College in 1952. She taught primary and secondary school in the Somerset, Brookline and Dennis school systems. After getting married, she lived in Dedham before moving to Yarmouth n 1968 to raise her family. She and her husband owned and operated Bass River Lodge and Capeway Patrol from 1968 to 1972. After her husband's death, Mrs. Lundegren managed J. F. Murphy's Restaurant in Yarmouth from 1972 to 1985 and the Skipper Restaurant from 1986 to 1992. In 1995 she became office manager at TechPlus Computer Co. in South Yarmouth, where she worked until her death. She was active in St. David's Episcopal Church of Bass River. Survivors include three sons, Mark E. Lundegren of Kansas City, Kan., Bruce E. Lundegren of Arlington, Va., and Scott J. Lundegren of South Yarmouth; a daughter, Gail A. Murray of Westwood; two brothers, Lucien Bachand of Falmouth and Randall Bachand of Easton, Md.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth. A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. David's Episcopal Church, 205 Old Main St., South Yarmouth. Burial will follow in Ancient Cemetery, Ancient Way, Yarmouthport. Roger William Barrette, Sr., 68, of Chilton, formerly of Marinette, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, November 26, 2005. He was born on October 21, 1937, in Marinette to the late William J. and Louise (Gypp) Barrette. In May of 1986, Roger married Andrea Shandor in Las Vegas, Nev. Roger was a guitar player all his life and played in several local bands. He retired from Chilton Metal Products after 37 years where he was a plant manager. For three years following his retirement he helped his wife, Andrea, manage a restaurant in Elkhart Lake. He was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Hilbert. Roger loved the outdoors, especially golfing, boating, chopping wood and playing music. Roger is survived by his wife of 20 years, Andrea; his children and their spouses, Roger Jr. and Theresa Barrette, Spring Grove, Ill.; Mark and Katie Barrette, Minn.; Barbara and Dave Cytlak, Van Buren, Ohio; Scott Barrette, Milwaukee; and Leah Soerens, Sheboygan; his step-children, Clifford Jr. and Stephanie Kelsey, St. Mary's, Ga.; Kristal Kelsey, Green Bay; 18 grandchildren; his sister, Marie Willeson, Marinette; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Christopher William Barrette. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor H. P. Hilgendorf officiating. Donat (Frenchy) Basque, age 99, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Gertrude Tesch Basque, died on Saturday, November 26, 2005. Born in Tracadie, NB, Canada on March 15, 1906, he retired from the Bridgeport Brass Co. after 40 years of service. Mr. Basque was a member of the Bridgeport Brass Quarter Century Club, the Franco American Club and volunteered as a civil defense airplane spotter during World War II. His favorite hobby was helping his family and friends. Survivors include seven children, two daughters, Patricia Basque and Geraldine Cirella; five sons, John, Richard, Theodore, Kenneth and David Basque; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Leonard Basque. Donat will be remembered as a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and a man of high morals and principles and someone who was extremely proud of his family. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday November 30, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Surviving are her husband, Elvin West of St. Anne, whom she married June 21, 1959 in Kankakee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dana and Yvonne West of St. Anne, Jay and Melissa West of Watseka; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Tom Duby, Anne and Keith Nicholson, all of Momence; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Jackie Pickering of Little Rock, Ark.; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Charlene Beaupre of Portland, Ore., Ed and Judy Beaupre of Beaverville, and Mark and Nicole Beaupre of St. Anne. One nephew, Ryan Beaupre, is deceased.

She was born on May 20, 1906 in La Patric, Quebec, Canada the daughter of Eli and Seraphine (Morel) Belanger. She attended local schools in Canada. Mrs. Bruso was a homemaker. Prior to living in Greenfield, she resided in Upton and Whitinsville, MA. Rose was a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Turners Falls, MA, a former member of the Upton Women’s Club, a member of the Blackstone Art Association and she loved art, especially oil painting. Rose enjoyed traveling, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. Among her survivors she leaves 1 daughter, Arlene M. McCrea of Melbourne, FL and her husband Joseph; 2 sons, Robert J. Bruso and John E. Bruso both of Anchorage, Alaska; 1 brother, William J. Belanger and 1 sister, Lena Kelliher both of Uxbridge, MA;; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Tuesday (11-29-05) at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church with Rev. Charles DiMascola officiating. She was employed at Bates Manufacturing Co. for many years until her retirement in 1980.Dot was the wife of Leo Brunelle. GARDNER -- Lorraine (Girouard) Pierce, 80, of 144 Rosewood Drive, died Friday, Nov. 25, at Heywood Hospital, Gardner. She was born in Gardner on Jan. 25, 1924, the daughter of Albert J. and Eva (O’Brien) Girouard and had resided in Gardner and Fitchburg. During the 1960s she went back and finished high school. In 1965 she graduated from Fitchburg High School with her daughter, Evelyn, who was also graduating that year. In the 1970’s, Lorraine and her husband Charlie helped to promote the religious messages of Garabandal and Padre Pio. They arranged for lectures and slide presentations, which were given at area churches. They hosted speakers for these events, including Joey Lomangio who spoke on Garabandal, and Father D’Apolito of Italy who spoke about Father Pio. Mrs. Pierce pursued her interests in the arts. She sang in various local shows, in her church choir and on local television. She took oil painting lessons, painting for family and friends. Her work was on display at an exhibition at the Sacred Heart School in Gardner, where her son Albert was a teacher. She was a communicant of the Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church in Fitchburg and was active with the St. Joseph PTO. Mrs. Pierce is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert F. and Rita Pierce and Robert R. and Judith Pierce, all of Fitchburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn E. and Clement Tourigny of Gardner; one brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Marlene Girouard of Arizona; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pierce was the wife of the late Charles R. Pierce who died in 1983. She was the sister of the late Kathleen Vaillancourt.PIERCE -- On Nov. 25, Lorraine (Girouard) Pierce, 80, of Gardner. GUILBAULT, DONALD G. 'DUCKY', 73, of Hope Furnace Rd., died Saturday at home. He was the husband of Cecile J. (Gareau) Guilbault, they were married for 49 years. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Ernest and Stella (Jennings) Guilbault and had lived in West Warwick most of his life.Donald was a correctional officer at the ACI Maximum Security Facility, retiring in 1991, after 33 years of service.A Korean War Army Veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 2 and Pasco Senerchia Post 74, West Warwick, The Phenix Sportsmans Club and was an avid golfer.Besides his wife he leaves his daughters, Donna M. LEWISTON - Emilio "Jean" Jalbert, 81, of Boone Avenue in Auburn, died early Sunday morning, Nov. 27, at d'Youville Pavilion with his family at his side.He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 5, 1924, a son of Emilio L. and Simonne (Desjardins) Jalbert. He was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.On May 30, 1944, he married Violet Geerling in Bradenton, Fla., and they eventually settled in Lewiston-Auburn to raise their family.Jean was a veteran of the military, having served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After his discharge from the service, he began what was a long career as a self-employed building contractor in Lewiston and Auburn until his retirement.He was a member of St. Louis Church, the DAV, VFW and the CBI. His greatest enjoyment was always spending good times with his family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.He also liked traveling, and he and his wife enjoyed spending time in Florida. Many pleasant summer days were spent at the family camp in Greenwood. He also enjoyed tending to his flower gardens and bird-watching. In addition, he was an avid reader, especially of history.He is survived by his wife, Violet; four daughters, Jane Laplante and husband, Bert, of Lewiston, Rebecca Stevens and husband, William, of Sabattus, Julia Jalbert of Ludlow, Mass., and Jennifer Bilodeau and husband, Michael, of Mechanic Falls; three sons, Jean Jalbert and wife, Donna, John Jalbert and wife, Connie, of Auburn, and Jack Jalbert, also of Auburn; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Jean Marie; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Debra (Labbe) Knapik, 41, of New Britain, wife of Richard Knapik, died Saturday, (November 26, 2005) at New Britain General Hospital. A lifelong New Britain resident, she was daughter of the late Andrew and Susan (Langley) Labbe. She graduated from New Britain High School in 1981 and worked at the UConn Health Center in Farmington for 15 years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the New Britain Catholic Council. Besides her husband Richard, she leaves a son, Andrew Knapik and a daughter, Jessica Knapik, both of New Britain; a brother, Daniel Labbe and his wife, Carol of New Britain; a sister, Kathleen Labbe of Plainville; her mother-in-law, Jean (Okonowski) Knapik of New Britain; a sister-in-law, Nancy Kraczkowsky of Newington; an aunt, Madeline DeSantis of Wallingford; five nieces and two nephews, Susan, Krystal and Ryan Bard, Chelsea, Michelle and Jacob Labbe, and Amanda Kraczkowsky. Douglas P. LeClerc, 41, of Manchester died November 25, 2005 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. Born in Manchester on August 13, 1964, he was the son of Roland and Dorothy (Remillard) LeClerc. He lived most of his life in Manchester. He was a graduate of Central High School in 1982 and was co-captain of the basketball team during his senior year. He attended St. Leo College in Florida. Mr. LeClerc worked for AT&T in Boston and for Staples Office Supplies in Bedford. He coached basketball at St. Catherine Church. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband and father. The family includes his wife of 16 years, Valerie (Bey) LeClerc of Manchester; two children, Westley LeClerc and Olivia LeClerc both of Manchester; his mother of Manchester and Englewood, FL; three sisters, Donna Doscher of Pittsfield, MA, Diane LeBlond of Weare and Darlene LeClerc-Conley of Manchester; two brothers, David LeClerc of North Hero, VT and Duane LeClerc of Bedford; aunts uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. GENEVIEVE MARCELLE LEMIEUX was born in her home in the village of La Meyze, France, on January 20, 1926. On the evening of Thanksgiving, November 24, 2005, she left us to be in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ for eternity. Genevieve loved life and treasured her faith in Jesus. She is survived by her loving husband, Lucien Emile Lemieux of Rhode Island; her caring daughter, Sylvie Jeanne; her devoted son, Steven Gabriel and his wife, Dawn Colleen and their three children, Gabriel, Sophie and Adrian. She enjoyed her family and friends both in the States and in France, and especially had a close relationship with her niece in Paris, Annick Forveille and her husband, Serge. Genevieve was indeed a pillar of light. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her. She was positive in her faith to Jesus, inspiring to others and had a love of life that was admired and will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know her. Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 29th of November 2005 in the Jasek Chapel of Geo H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive. MADAWASKA - Bernadette "Bedette" Yvette Thiffault passed away Nov. 27, 2005, in Madawaska. She was born Jan. 2, 1916, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Sigfroid and Marie (Pinette) Madore, originally of Fort Kent. She leaves behind three children, one son, Peter Thiffault of Frenchville; two daughters, Dawn Maximov of Carson City, Nev., Jean Cayer of Madawaska; three grandchildren, Eli Cayer of Portland, Tara Lee Gerson of Santa Monica, Calif. and Amber Olson of Hollywood, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Madeleine Shea and Charlie Michele Gerson of Santa Monica, Calif. Bernadette was predeceased by her loving husband, Alphonse Felix Thiffault, and by six sisters and five brothers. At the age of 50, along with her husband, she operated a Montgomery Wards Catalog Agency for 15 years. She truly loved singing with the St. Thomas Aquinas Church choir for many years. She was an avid bowler, card player, reader and was a wonderful cook. Sewing was a passion that clothed an entire family. Always willing to try new things, it was no wonder that she was able to enjoy a trip to Europe at the age of 85. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Friends and relatives may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Daigle Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Ronald Pilotte Sr. -- St. Anne -- Ronald J. "Bud" Pilotte Sr., 79, of St. Anne, died Saturday (Nov. 26, 2005) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. wake service, at Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church. Rev. James Fanale will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Pilotte owned St. Anne Bottle Gas, Bud's Plumbing and Heating and Rural Supply Co. He was born Aug. 28, 1926, in Fowler, Ind., the son of Clifford and Margaret Saindon Pilotte. He served on the St. Anne High School Board of Education, where he was president for several years. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served as a motor mechanic and underwater demolition man. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the church choir. He was also a member of Rotary International, the Knights of Columbus and the St. Anne American Legion. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Ann Saathoff, whom he married Sept. 4, 1947 at St. Anne Catholic Church; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Daniel Pilotte of Bolingbrook, Ronald and Michele Pilotte of Momence, Dennis Pilotte of Madison, Wis., Brian and Diane Pilotte of St. Anne; three daughters and one son-in-law, Diana Meehan of Vail, Colo., Cindy and Bill Marion of Jacksonville, Ark., Carole Pilotte of Flossmoor; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eulalie and Ed Barman of Demotte, Ind., Margaret Minnich of Michigan; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Carey F. Brisson, age 55 years, of Sturgeon Bay (formerly of Clintonville) passed away Friday, November 25, 2005, at Appleton Medical Center after a lengthy illness. The former Carey Frances Gretzinger was born August 16, 1950, in Oshkosh to Charles and Frances (Kriewaldt). Her family moved to Oconto Falls when Carey was an infant and in 1957 they settled in Clintonville. She liked spending time with her grandparents on the Kriewaldt and Gretzinger side. As the oldest sibling, she was always the leader of the pack. Carey graduated from Clintonville High School in 1968 and went on to Louisiana State University. When she returned to Wisconsin, she attended UW-Green Bay & Stevens Point, focusing on business and nursing. Carey went back to college again and received her CNA certification with her daughter in 1996 from Mid-State Tech in Stevens Point. On October 12, 1974, she was united in marriage to Michael L. Brisson at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. The couple moved to Stevens Point in 1984 and settled in Sturgeon Bay in 2002. Her first job was at Urban Telephone Co., Clintonville. Then she went on to UW-Green Bay as the job placement office secretary. Carey was also employed at the Bay East Animal Clinic, Green Bay. She is a former member of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, and St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Stevens Point. At St. Paul's she volunteered as church secretary. Settling in Sturgeon Bay, Carey became an active member of Bay View Lutheran Church where she was involved in bible study groups. Over the years, Carey volunteered at the Portage Co. Human Society and the United Way Drive. She also helped out at the senior center in Sturgeon Bay. Carey was an outgoing person and as a teenager even won the "Ms. Congeniality" title for Shawano County. Her interests included sewing, knitting, photography, camping, canoeing and the piano. She loved animals and music, especially the drums. Carey will be remembered most as a caring wife and mother. Survivors include her husband, Michael. Her mother, Frances Gretzinger of Clintonville and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Brisson of Green Bay. Three children, Erica (fiance Ryan Wiedenmeier) Brisson of Milwaukee; Jeremy (Elisabeth) Brisson of Gills Rock; and Renae (Patrick) Hooey of Onalaska. There are two granddaughters, Lisette & Antonia Brisson. Further survived by two brothers and one sister, C. Jeffrey (Mary) Gretzinger of Waunakee; Colny (Jill) Gretzinger of Appleton; Carmen (Pete) Gretzinger-Sullivan of Appleton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carey is preceded in death by her father, Charles; her father-in-law, Mitchell Brisson; and many pets, especially her dog Molly. The family would like to thank Froedtert Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee, especially Dr. Joseph Cusick and the staff on 5 NW and 5 SW. Also the oncology unit and Sr. Ruth at Appleton Medical Center. Finally, for all the pastoral support from Bay View and Christus Lutheran, and to all her family and friends who have kept Carey in their prayers. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Nov. 29th, at 11 a.m. at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. The Rev. Willard Hager will officiate. LAFAYETTE - Funeral services for Agnes Thibodeaux Roy will be held Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille. Ms. Roy died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, at the age of 94.Entombment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery Mausoleum in Scott. The Rev. Keith J. DeRouen, rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Ms. Roy was a native of Indian Bayou and a lifelong resident of Acadiana. As a child, she attended the old Burke School in Ridge. She graduated from Scott High School and attended Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute. Ms. Roy was married to Isaac Roy and worked with her husband, at Isaac Roy Lumber Yard from 1939 to 1960.Ms. Roy was an active member of the Lafayette Business and Professional Women's Club ("BPW") for many years. She served as President of the BPW from 1955 to 1956, and also served as a member of the World Affairs Committee in connection with which she presented numerous international relations programs and documentaries. Ms. Roy strived through her endeavors to promote the interest of business and professional women; to elevate the standards in the professions; and to extend opportunities to business and professional women through education.Ms. Roy loved to travel and toured the world extensively, sharing her international experiences with others through BPW presentations and series of articles published in the Advertiser for local readers. She was an active member of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. ELLSWORTH and BAR HARBOR - Robert J. "Bob" Boucher, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Taft, Calif., the son of Herbert J. and Ruby G. (Paddock) Boucher. Bob was an Army Veteran of World War II, where he participated in the campaign in the Aleutian Islands. He was recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the American Defense Service Medal. After the war, Bob married Beverly Smith. He worked as a lineman for Pacific Gas and Electric for many years. Bob also worked as a salesman for Best Foods and Libby's, before going to work in the Sales Department for McClatchy Newspapers at the Sacramento Bee. While working at the Bee, Bob received many awards for his ideas in changing ad design at the newspaper. His ideas were sufficiently innovative to be adopted for all the papers published nationwide by McClatchy. Bob was a Mason when he lived in California, where he was also an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast. In his younger years, Bob was very athletic, and won recognition for his talents in playing tennis. Had the war not intervened, and his life taken a different path, Bob would very likely have been a professional athlete, either playing baseball or football. He very much enjoyed following all the major sports and car racing events. In the late 1980's, Bob and his wife moved to Maine to be near their children. He is survived by two children, Nan Boucher of Hollis and Dennis Boucher and his wife, Janet, of Cherryfield; and two grandsons, Michael Boucher of California and Randy Pagels of Cherryfield. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife, Beverly Boucher; and a grandson, Sean Boucher. Friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments with the family 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Interment with military honors, will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.
