GIRARD, Louise - Age 60, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich. Funeral services will be held 1PM Thursday, November 3, 2005 at Linden Free Methodist Church, 13274 Linden Road, Linden. Pastor James Thompson officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Tuesday, 1-4 and 6-9PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton; and 12PM until the time of the funeral Thursday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Fund. Mrs. Girard was born July 4, 1945 in Boonesville, Kentucky, the daughter of Floyd and Lula (Deaton) Bowling. She had resided in Swartz Creek the past 3 years coming from Gladwin where she resided for 10 years. She married Steven G. Girard December 31, 1993 in Waterford. She had worked for Tru-Val in Waterford for 16 years and was a member of Linden Free Methodist Church. Surviving are: husband, Steve; 2 daughters, Donna Lou and husband James Riddle of Galion, OH, Patti and husband Dave Yanko of Linden; 6 grandchildren, Lance, Ben, Brad, Eric, Alec and Aila; 2 step-children, Alison Marie and husband Kenneth Morrow of Japan, Shawn Girard of Florida; 7 brothers and sisters, Emma, Eva, Adra, June, Richard, Brown and Elijah; many nieces and nephews. He was a son of Patricia Provo. He was a member of St. Thomas United Baptist Church. He graduated from Cole Harbour District High School in 2003. He was currently attending Nova Scotia Community College, Akerley Campus. Romaine was involved in various sports such as basketball and football, which he enjoyed. He was currently employed with TeleTech and Source Security. Romaine was a mamma's boy. He was a very happy-go-lucky person who always brought a smile to your face with his laughter and jokes. Romaine was a very passionate and caring person. He loved children. Besides his mom, Romaine is survived by his twin brother, Wayne, North Preston; brother, Trevor, Dartmouth; sister, Charmaine, Niagara Falls. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Shenisha, Trenaya, Shakur, Chamon, Tremaine (godchild), Taija, Tkai; special friends, Luke Maxwell, Bruce Williams and Rev. RUFUS HICKS MIDGIC, NB - The death of Rufus Earl Hicks, age 90, of Midgic, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 30, 2005. Born in Midgic, he was a son of the late James and Alta (Phinney) Hicks. Rufus served in the Royal Canadian Army's North Shore Regiment in France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. He was a member of the Sackville Jehovah's Witness Congregation. Rufus will be sadly missed by his son, Irvin Hicks; two daughters, Myrna (Donald) MacKay, Moncton, Elizabeth (Robert) Mallory, Port Elgin; one brother, Roland Hicks, Midgic; two sisters, Norma Robertson and Mary Wiens both of Amherst, and seven grandchildren. P. June Donogh June 04, 1926 - October 30, 2005 June Donogh, beloved wife of Norm Donogh of Winnipeg, died suddenly on October 30, 2005. Predeceased by her parents Major Tim Cherry and Jeanette Cherry, she is survived by her husband of 53 1/2 years, her son Brian (Ellen) of Winnipeg and three precious granddaughters, Jacqueline, Shannon and Danielle. Born June 4, 1926, June was educated in four Winnipeg teaching institutions, Rupertsland, Laura Secord, Gordon Bell and the University of Manitoba, graduating in 1946 with a B.A. Degree. In her youth she was active in tennis and worked on University of Manitoba publications. She was serving in the editorial department of the Winnipeg Free Press when she married her husband in May, 1952. For twenty years she served as volunteer secretary of the Fort Garry Library and was a member of the Fort Garry Historical Society. She was a lifelong member of the Women’s Canadian Club and was an active supporter of theatre productions. Edgar William (Bill) Bannister 1927-2005 Edgar William (Bill) Bannister of Lakeview Manor, Riverview and formerly of Byng Court, Moncton passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2005 surrounded by his daughters and granddaughter at the age of 78. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Leta (Jonah). Bill loved to laugh, usually at his own jokes, and loved life to its fullest. He enjoyed being out of doors, hunting and fishing, and loved his camp and cottage. Bill was previously involved with the Masons, Shriners (Mini Car) and the Lions Club. Prior to retirement, Bill drove bus for Codiac Transit and enjoyed his job tremendously. In the past he had been a truck driver, worked for B/A oil company, and owned his own company, Bannister's Fuels. Marion Robertson (née MacDonald) July 21, 1917 - November 01, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Fair Haven Funeral Home Marion (MacDonald) Robertson was born in Thorburn, Pictou Co. NS, July 21, 1917. She moved to Moncton with her husband of 63 years, Reg Robertson. She was a member of Mountain View United Church where for many years she was involved in youth and women’s groups. Marion is survived by two sisters in Nova Scotia, Bar MacDougall and Gladys Morrison, a son Ervin (Brenda) of Ingonish, NS. and daughter Faye (Rocky) of Moncton. She was predeceased by Reg on September 11th 2005. Part of our wonderful Mother’s life was taken away 5 years ago when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and had to be placed in a nursing home. Marion was a resident at Spencer Memorial Home for 2 years and Camden Park Terrace for 3 years. She passed away at her residence in her 88th year with her daughter and care givers at her side. There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Following cremation a private family graveside service will be held in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Shequin (Larocque), Eileen C. 9/23/44 - 10/30/05 age 61, of Coon Rapids, MN. Born in Randolph, VT on Sept. 23, 1944 to parents, John & Velma Larocque. Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend passed away at home on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 after a long, courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by love. For all of those who knew her, she was the most gentle of souls and found pleasure with the small things in life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, reading romance novels, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a telephone operator for over forty years, first with New England Bell Telephone in VT, and then transferred to MN and continued with AT & T until she retired in 2003. Survived by husband, John; son, Adam Shequin (Mandi); son, Jeffrey Dickinson (Janelle); daughter, Melissa Dickinson, and grandchildren, Kelly, Chanda, Anika and Sophia, all of MN. Madeleine C. Messier 88 formerly of 66 Vose St. Woonsocket died Sunday at St. Antoine Residence in N. Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Aldor J. Messier. Mrs. Messier was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Eustache and Emma (Garceau) Daignault. Mrs Messier was the Personal director for Hospice St. Antoine for eighteen years before retiring in 1981. She was a former member of the Holy Family Seniors Christian Group. Mrs Messier is survived by four sons Roger Messier of Westboro MA, Edmond Messier, Paul Messier and Dennis Messier all of Cumberland, a daughter Suzanne Dube of N. Smithfield, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. BREWER - Lucille M. DeRoche, 83, died peacefully Oct. 30, 2005, at a Brewer healthcare facility. She was born June 24, 1922, in Mexico, the daughter of Joseph and Sara (Fillis) DeRoche. Lucille was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Brewer and played an active role in her church community for many years. She was a very giving person, donating monies to many charities and organizations. She was always there to give a ride, cook for a friend and lend a helping hand. She retired from Sears after 25 years of service and enjoyed her monthly luncheons with the ladies from Sears. She loved to go on rides, out to eat and playing bridge with her friends. Lucille is survived by her brother, John DeRoche of Brewer; her sister, Louise Courtney of Brewer; and her son, Vincent P. Courtney of New York. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a special nephew, Leo DeRoche Jr., all of whom she loved dearly. She will be sadly missed by many friends, the Murray and Tardiff families; and will be deeply missed by her second family, Billy, Debbie, BJ and Angel Murray. She was predeceased by her brother, Leo J. DeRoche Sr. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. Florabelle Nusbaum -- Kankakee -- Visitation for Florabelle Nusbaum, 100, of Kankakee, will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee. Rev. Kathy Sweet will officiate. Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley. She died Monday (Oct. 31, 2005) at Riverside Medical Center. Mrs. Nusbaum had worked until she was in her 80s. She was a crossing guard at Steuben School and had worked at Valspar and also at the YWCA with the kids. She had also worked at the Kankakee Clinic and as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital during World War II and at various grocery stores in the area. She was born Feb. 28, 1905, in Milks Grove, the daughter of Clarence and Edna Allain Dyon. Her husband, Donald A. Nusbaum, whom she married March 29, 1926, in Manteno, died in October 1965. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and crossword puzzles. Surviving are one son, Donald E. Nusbaum; one daughter, Doris Nusbaum of Bourbonnais; one sister, Mabel Alberts of Arizona; one brother and sister-in-law, Ambrose and Cleva Dyon of Kankakee; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sandra R. Davis of Bourbonnais. Deceased are two brothers, Russell Hollenbeck, LaVerne Dyon; and one grandson, Chris Nusbaum.

MECHANICVILLE, NY -- Maurice B. Lavigne, 64, of South Hudson Avenue, Hemstreet Park, died suddenly, Sunday evening, October 30, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, after being stricken at home. Native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, he was born June 7, 1941, son of Irene Crotty Lavigne of Mechanicville and the late Joseph Lavigne. He was a 1959 graduate of Mechanicville High School, after which he entered the US Air Force, serving until 1963. Maurice was an instrument repair technician for the General Electric Silicone Products Division in Waterford for over 39 years, retiring last year. Maurice loved to garden and was always helpful to his family and neighbors. Survivors in addition to his mother, include his wife, Oryanna Glodny Lavigne; two sons, Franz and wife, Deborah Lavigne of Clifton Park and Joseph-Bruno J.B. A founding member of St. Genevieve United Church, city councillor in Pierrefonds from 1969-1973. An honourable, quiet, reserved person, he lived his life in the service of others. GERALD JAMES SEGUIN BURLINGTON — Gerald James Seguin, 90, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, in Birchwood Terrace Healthcare in Burlington. He was born on Aug. 5, 1915, in Churubusco, N.Y., the son of Henry and Charlotte (Troville) Seguin. He received his education in the New York school systems. Gerald taught English at Christ the King School in Burlington, Mount Mansfield and seventh and eighth grade English at Camel's Hump School. He was the girl's softball coach at Camel's Hump for several years. He enjoyed gardening and sold many of his plants at craft fairs. He also raised raspberries, which he sold to local markets and friends. He was an active and faithful communicate of Holy Rosary Church in Richmond. He was often a lector and for many years taught CCD classes. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen of South Burlington; one son, Michael Patrick Seguin of Bolton; one daughter, Collenne SeguinBloom and husband Alan of Valparaiso, Ind.; grandson Ezekiel Seguin-Bloom; his nephews, Russell Seguin and wife Betty of Morrisville, N.Y. , Gregory Seguin and wife Margie of Rouses Point, N.Y.; niece Barbara Seguin of Moores, N.Y.; several great-nieces and greatnephews; his inlaws, Mr. and Mrs. James Murphy of Indiana, Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Spicer of Indiana., and Margaret and Jeffrey Puskos of Texas. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Seguin; his nephew, Desmond Seguin; and greatnephew Joseph Seguin. DENEENE LOUISE LAMOTHE NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Deneene L. LaMothe, 54, of New Port Richey, died unexpectedly on Oct. 13, 2005. Born June 4, 1951, in Burlington, Vt., she was the daughter of Connie Muniz of Vergennes, Vt., and Edward Muniz of Forest City, N.C. Denny relocated to Florida in 1992 and was a nurse's aide at Elm Tree Lodge in New Port Richey. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Hudson. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Christopher Daniel LaMothe of New Port Richey; brothers Dean Muniz of Vergennes, Byron Muniz of Shallotte, N.C.; and a sister, Charlene Muniz of Shallotte; and several nieces and nephews of Vermont and North Carolina. Funeral arrangements were made by Dobies Funeral Home of New Port Richey and Brunswick Funeral Ser- vice of Shallotte. Services were held in Florida and in St. Brendan Catholic Church in Shallote, Oct. 24.

Carolyn Sue LAVALLEE At the age of 52, Carolyn's 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer came to a close on Oct. 27th, at home in Snoqualmie surrounded by her husband Russ, daughters, Kristen and Sarah, and best friend Cathy. Carolyn was a teacher at Opstad Elementary for 10 years. Admired for her dedication and calling to teach and inspire, students and parents alike benefited from her endless hours gladly given in the classroom. She shared her lifelong love of learning and attained a Masters of Education. Her prolific love of reading and gently persistent questions as a means of learning about and understanding life delighted all who knew her. A gift for gardening and enjoyment of the outdoors was a driving force in her leisure time. Many special hours were spent with her daughters and Russ on weekend walks or hikes in the nearby mountains. Often found in her favorite spot curled up in the big chair with Gus the cat on her lap, a good book in her hand and an occasional gaze out the living room window at majestic Mt. Si, was enough to provide her the simple joys she so loved. Her deep faith and spiritual commitment never wavered throughout her journey in life. Weekly Bible studies helped sustain her courage which proved to be a beacon of light for all who knew her. Carolyn's vibrant and caring personality drew numerous friends to her side. No matter the difficulties she endured, she always wanted to know what was new in the life of her friends. The strength of her diligence and warmth of her welcome created the center of the family home in Snoqualmie, filling it with laughter, humor and love. Russ, Kristen and Sarah, and love of the Lord, were at the center of her life. Raised in Fresno, CA, she will be remembered by her parents Bob and Dorothy Coble, sister Donna and brother Robert as the source of emotional strength for the family. Memorial service will be held Nov. 4th, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, North Bend. The family suggests donations to PanCan.org as a tribute to Carolyn's memory. Published in print on 11/2/2005.
