OCALA - Conrad "Connie" Facteau, 74, a retired mechanical engineer for NASA, died Friday, May 13, 2005, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.A native of West Burke, Vt., he moved here from Westford, Vt., in 1983. New London - John E. "Jack" Maynard, 83, of 365 Jefferson Ave. in New London, died Monday, May 16, 2005 at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.He was born on Nov. 26, 1921 in Southington, the son of Ernest and Anna Marie Gareau Maynard.Jack was married to Lila Rizk Maynard on Aug. 25, 1954 in Southington.For over 30 years, he and his wife had owned and operated the Maynard's Grocery. They were located in New London, first on the original Main Street prior to moving to Truman Street and then Reed Street for the last several years of being opened.Mr. Maynard was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre and was a member of the V. F. W. in New London. He was also a past member and former Exulted Ruler of the New London Lodge of Elks.Besides his wife, Jack is survived by two daughters, Maurene Maynard McCredie and her husband, Robert, of New London, and Elaine Maynard Adams and her daughter Jennifer Adams, also of New London.He had also been predeceased by two brothers, George and Robert Maynard.The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, at the Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London. GUINETTE, GLADYS MARY Feb 20, 1931 - May 4, 2005. Gladys Mary Guinette was born in Junction City to Martin and Anna Lund. She graduated from Elmira Union High School in 1949. Gladys met Roger Guinette in 1951 and they married six years later on June 22, 1957 in Worcester, Mass. Together they had two daughters, Sherrie who was born in April of 1960 and Lorena who was born in December of 1961. Gladys will be remembered for her excellent cooking, kindness, generosity and devotion as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was born in Riga, Latvia and married Voldemar Zvaigzne in Latvia 1942. Anastasija had lived in Levack for many years. She was a well respected and active member of the local Latvian community attending the Latvian Lutheran Church and she was a dedicated member of the Latvian Relief Organization "Daugavas Vanagi". She enjoyed bingo, singing and gardening. Beloved wife of Voldemar Zvaigzne of Sudbury. Sadly missed by relatives in Latvia and friends in Sudbury.
