He will be sadly missed by his children Floyd & Jan Simpkins of Amherstburg, Lori & Ted Bachynski of Belle River, Joel Simpkins & friend Jodie of Tecumseh, Joanne & Charles Pierre of Tecumseh. Cherished grandfather of Bryce, Amy, Sadie and Derek Bachynski, Charles, Leah and Jake Simpkins, Rachelle and Stephanie Pierre. He was a life long member of Bethel-Maidstone United Church and long time supporter of Minor Hockey in Essex County. George was a respected and admired leader & employer of Libby Manufacturing for over 37 years. Visiting at the Stewart L. SMITH, Donald Douglas A resident of Wheatley, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the Leamington District Memorial Hospital Born 80 years ago in Ridgetown to the late Stanley and Irene (Mackey) Smith. Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alberta (Harris) Smith and by his daughter Barb Siddall and her husband Robert of Wheatley, and by sons Leroy Smith and his wife Pam of Merlin, Don Smith and his wife Linda of North Buxton. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Don is survived by his sister Rose Marie Smith of Morpeth and by a brother Allan Smith and his wife Carol of Ridgetown. Predeceased by a son Ralph Smith and a grandson Ricky Don Smith, one sister Verda Smith and a brother Carmen Smith. The Smith family will receive friends for visitation at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home, 60 Stanley Street, Blenheim, on Thursday, May 19, 2005 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Mr. Smith's Funeral Service will be conducted from the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Friday, May 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Ed Nicol of Cedar Springs United Church. LAFRAMBOISE, Leo A resident of Thamesville, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, May 16, 2005 at the age of 84. Leo taught school for 41 years, he was principal at St. Paul's Roman Catholic School, Thamesville and St. Ignatius Roman Catholic School in Bothwell retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, Thamesville, a member of the 4th Degree Father James Assembly and Knights of Columbus, Council #7251, Thamesville and had been financial secretary. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Gubica) Laframboise (2004). Loving father of Joanne Laframboise-Otto and her husband Bruce Otto of High Springs, Florida, Charles Laframboise of Thamesville. Sadly missed by grandson Edmund Otto. Dear brother of Evangeline Stephens of Harrow. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Loving mother of Gale Richmond (Passa), Brian Richmond and wife Sandy, Bradley Greenaway and wife Jean. Cherished grandmother of Derek, Tyler and Mitchell Passa; Brandon and Jessica Richmond; Jillian and Thomas Greenaway. Survived by one brother Dennis Atkins, special niece Marlene and by other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, William and Nellie Atkins, of Simcoe area (Townsend Center); brothers, Brian, Fred, Harry and Bill Atkins and sister Henrietta Atkins (Barber). Ann was a member of the Gesto-Maidstone United Church Parish, and enjoyed singing in the church choir and at community events. With her family, church, tennis and golf, her life was full. Then, it was all taken from her by unexplained dementia, which she fought with good humour and patience for many years. Pearl Rousseau, 83, of Bristol, died Monday, (May 16, 2005) at Bristol Hospital. She was married for 44 years to Arthur H. Rousseau who predeceased her in 1989. She was born December 18, 1921, in Berlin, NH, daughter of the late Robert and ODiana (Larrivee) Baldwin. A resident of Bristol since 1946, Mrs. Rousseau was employed at the Wallace Barnes Manufacturing Company for 35 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Matthew Church in Forestville. Thomas George Banville, whom an orchestra leader friend once called "The most frustrated musician I know," died on May 15, 2005, at the age of 80 in Carmichael.Tom enjoyed writing, especially articles that dealt with education. The knowledge that he could reach thousands of teachers and parents with his thoughts, he found immensely rewarding. He was a regular contributor to "Early Years," a publication for teachers. His work also appeared in the "Journal of Education," "Education USA," "American Education," "Teacher," "Education Digest," "University of America Press," "Instructor," "Catholic Teacher," "PTA," and numerous others. He also authored two books on the psychology of communication: "HOW TO LISTEN - HOW TO BE HEARD" (Nelson-Hall) and "HOW TO GET YOUR CHILD TO LISTEN" (Condor). His work earned him a record number of awards from the Educational Press Association.Tom enlisted in the Naval Air Corps in 1942 and served in WWII as a radio operator aboard a Torpedo Bomber. Following his Naval service in 1946, he enrolled in then-Sacramento State College, where he earned a B.A. and an M.A. in educational psychology. He was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa fraternity.After teaching in the San Juan School District for three years, Tom went to the Roseville High School District as Director of the District Reading Program and project writer. In 1968 he moved to Washington Unified School District in West Sacramento, as a school psychologist and was later Administrator of Special Education. He was active in professional organizations and held offices in the Sacramento Area Personnel and Guidance Association, the California Counseling and Guidance Association and the Sacramento Area School Psychologists Association.It was also in 1968 that he began work on a doctorate in educational psychology at National University in South Florida. He was granted his doctorate in 1974.Tom had a passion for music of all kinds. As a youth in New Jersey (he was born in Brooklyn, NY) he studied classical piano for several years until, he always said, "My piano teacher quit in frustration." He could play by ear, however, a skill that indirectly helped him win the hand of the former Margaret Jacobs, typist of his manuscripts and his partner in all endeavors for the 56 years of their marriage. Tom and Margaret raised two sons. John (Jack) and his wife Jennifer live in Granite Bay and Thomas (Tom) and his wife Cindy live in Sacramento. They also have two granddaughters, Melissa and Erin. Following their retirement, Tom and Margaret traveled extensively, exploring every continent except Australia and Antarctica. Tom also returned to the study of classical piano, which he said was "a pleasure that had no end."Tom fought a lengthy battle with renal cancer and died peacefully at home.A vigil will be held on Wednesday, May 18, at Sierra View Funeral Home in Carmichael, 481-1515. RONAN - Kenneth "Ken" Ray Beauvais was welcomed into heaven by the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 4, 2005.Ken was born May 13, 1951, in St. Ignatius to Alphe Lawrence "Bud" and Rose May Morigeau Beauvais. Ken had four other siblings.Many knew Ken as "Kenny." He had many friends all across the globe. Kenny attended Ronan and Ursulines schools at a young age, later attending Ronan High School. From there, he went on to cosmetology school in Billings, where he successfully completed and received a diploma on Sept. 22, 1971. He then became a very popular hairdresser in Ronan and Missoula. Kenny even had done a few movie stars' hair. They would contact Ken, rent a motel room in Missoula to have their hair done and then fly back to Hollywood, all in the same day. Kenny enjoyed hiking, huckleberry picking going for rides into the mountains and taking pictures of everything that caught his eye. Ken enjoyed traveling to many places to view art, and he was very artistic himself; he took great pride in his beading. The most important enjoyment that he loved and cherished was being surrounded by all his nieces and nephews when all gathered for birthdays and holidays. Kenny will be missed by many. We know that in heaven there is no more suffering, no more loneliness, no more sickness. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charlie.He is survived by brother, Larry of Pablo; sister, Pat (Jim) McAlpin of Ronan; sister, Rose Beauvais of Ronan; several nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-niece and another great-great-niece or nephew on the way.Memorial services and a dinner will be held at the Ronan Alliance Church on Saturday, May 21, 2005, at 2 p.m. Shrider's Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.

CONCORD -- Natalie A. (Blanchard) Benoit, 83, of The Inn at Robbins Brook in Acton, and formerly of Concord, died Sunday, March 20, at Emerson Hospital after a brief illness. PRESQUE ISLE - Timothy M. Corriveau, 45, died May 17, 2005, at his home in Presque Isle. He was born July 16, 1959, Caribou, the son of Joseph L. and Eldora C.(Dow) Corriveau. Tim graduated from Caribou High School and later the Washington County Technical Institute in Calais. He married his Laurie (Good) Corriveau on May 14, 1994, and was a true friend, devoted husband and loving caring father to Jessie. Tim was employed by Graves Shop & Save in Presque Isle as a dairy manager for six years and was then promoted to manager of Graves in Dover Foxcroft for 10 years, returning to the Presque Isle store as assistant manager for the past eight months. He was a member of the Dover Foxcroft Kiwanis Club and the Star City ATV Club. He enjoyed four wheeling with family and friends and loved to go fishing. In addition to his wife and daughter of Presque Isle; and his mother of Caribou; he is survived by brothers and sisters, Bonnie and Galen Sanfacon of Caribou, Cindy and Keith Miller of Newburg, Valarie Corriveau of Searsmont, Matthew and Sheree Corriveau of Chelsea and Ellie Corriveau of Caribou, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph Sr. and Ruth Good, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Darlene Good, Ralph Jr. and Judy Good, all of Presque Isle, Tammy and Rick Archer of Caribou, Brenda and Scott Ashby of Mapleton, Camille Good of Waterboro; several nieces and nephews. GAGNON, ARTHUR J., a long time resident of Riverton, NJ, died at his home on March 11, 2005. During WWII Art was a captain in the Army Air Corps and was stationed with the 8th Air Force in England. After the war he graduated from LaSalle College and was employed as an electrical engineer at RCA where he worked on both the BMEWS and AEGIS programs until he retired in 1980. He had a variety of interests, including Ham Radio, (K2JLA), receiving many awards for his contacts around the world, Numismatics, bird-counting during annual migrations and Photography. Meaux; his sisters, Challie and her husband, George Hebert, Bonnie and her husband, Mike Oswalt, and Veleta and her husband, George Gwatney; his children, Christian Meaux and Angie M. Cohen; his son-in-law, Jaime Cohen; his grandchildren, Aaron, Nathalie and Elizabeth Cohen, all of the Republic of Panama; and his son and daughters of Lafayette, Arlene, Kermit Ulysse and Mellisa Meaux.
