CALUMET - Margaret M. Rowe, 73, a resident of Calumet, passed away May 3, 2005, at Çypress Manor in Hancock where she had been a resident for the past four years. She had been afflicted by Alzheimer's disease for many years. She was born on July 15, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late John and Margaret (LaMutt) Gamache. She graduated from Calumet High School with the Class of 1949 and then attended Suomi College. Rita Veltheim -- January 15, 1926 -- May 2, 2005 -- PUTNAM -- Rita Veltheim 79 of Vandale Street, Putnam. Died Monday May 2, 2005 at the Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. She was the wife of the late Arthur "Ted" Veltheim, he died in 1986. She was born January 15, 1926 in Putnam, daughter of the late Arthur and Delora (Marion) Jolicoeur. Rita worked for thirty years at the former Hale Manufacturing Company in Putnam. She had made her home in Putnam all her life, a communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam. For many years she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the League of Catholic Women. She also was a member of the Putnam Senior Citizens and the Ladies auxillary of the VFW Post 1523. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She leaves her son Alfred Veltheim and his wife Lila of Putnam, Grandchildren -- Sergeant USMC Shawn Veltheim of Okinawa; Andrew Veltheim of Putnam; a brother -- Raymond Jolicoeur of Putnam; three sisters -- Clair Sarette of Putnam; Muriel Denomme of Norwich; Jeanne Denome of Ocala, FL and Putnam; several nieces amd nephews. LE FEBRE - Marian (Kimm) Le Febre, 76, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at her home in Grand Rapids, Michigan, surrounded by her five children. Born July 18, 1928, in Manhattan, Montana, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Minnie Kimm. Her husband of 37 years, John H. Le Febre, passed away in 1989. She was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church and had been a resident of Grand Rapids for the past 15 years. She served in numerous Christian ministries, and during her retirement traveled extensively. She was a loyal friend to many, and her faith in God was an inspiration to all who knew her. Dearly loved by her children and grandchildren, she was always a source of encouragement and an active influence in their lives. She is survived by her five children, John D. (Kaci) Le Febre of Spotsylvania, Virginia; Elleen J. (John) Van Dyke of Manhattan; Kevin K. (Rebecca) Le Febre of Alto, Michigan; Carolyn J. (Larry) Groendyk and Loreen K. (Tom) Standel, both of Grand Rapids; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two brothers, Alan Kimm and Harold Kimm, both of Manhattan; and five sisters, Evelyn Triemstra of Bozeman, Montana; Dorothy Flikkema and Elinor Vander Ark, both of Manhattan; Joanne Alberda of Sioux Center, Iowa; and Helene Hathaway of Surprize, Arizona. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur Kimm of Manhattan. WESTFIELD - Theresa Y. (Landry) Pienkowski, 78, of Westfield died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Springfield on April 29th 1927, daughter of the late Adjuter and Dorilla (LaValley) Landry. She moved to Westfield in 1949 and was employed as the office manager for the Westfield Steiger's Dept. Store for twenty years retiring in 1992. Theresa was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was the widow of Edwin M. Pienkowski who died in 1987. She leaves four sons Martin E. Pienkowski, Robert P. Pienkowski, Alan E. Pienkowski and his wife Sandra, Peter J. Pienkowski and his wife Marilyn, and one daughter Jeanne E. Pienkowski all of Westfield. She also leaves three brothers Francis and Roland Landry of Springfield, Ernest Landry of Florida, a sister Lea Harpin of Springfield and three grandchildren Milissa Marie Pienkowski, Peter J. SOUTH HADLEY - Rene E. Leduc, 79, of Lyman St., died May 2, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born April 30, 1926 in South Hadley, son of the late Antonio and Rose (Normandin) Leduc. Rene was educated in the Immaculate Conception Schools. He was a lifelong member of St. Theresa Church, South Hadley. While being a member of the church he spearheaded many fundraisers and was a very generous contributor to the church. Rene had worked for 25 years at the Springfield Armory in research and development. He had also owned Leduc Landscaping and was a district distributor for Amway. Rene was the King of the South Hadley Senior Center. Rene is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jacqueline (Nadeau) Leduc; his loving children, George J. Leduc and his wife Polly of Easthampton, Nancy J. Hamel and her husband Paul of Amherst, and Anne Wokcik and her husband Gary of Easthampton; his brother Roger of Pawpaw, Michigan; two sisters, Rita Delisle and Lorraine Gearhart, both of Escondido, California; six beautiful grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Wojcik, Jessica and Jeremy Leduc, and Aaron and Amy Hamel. Also predeceased by his brothers, Romeo, Paul and Oscar; and his sister, Theresa Lamotha. She was an active member of the Pentecostal faith. She will be remembered for the love, kindness, and generosity she has shown throughout her life. NEW BEDFORD -- Madaline I. (Niles) Masse, 76, of New Bedford, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Dorius "Ted" T. Masse. Born in Dartmouth, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Margaret (Hamm) Niles. She lived in New Bedford most of her life and was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was a cook for the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational-Technical High School until she retired. Mrs. Masse was a member of the Holy Name Couples Club. She enjoyed sewing and arts and crafts. Besides her widower, she is survived by two sons, Wilfred Masse and his wife Jane, of Westport, and Ted T. Masse Jr., of Westport; three brothers, Mervyn C. Niles of Richmond, Va., Eldon M. Niles and his wife Annette, of Ottawa, Ill., and Clyde J. Niles and his wife, Joan of Lakeville; three sisters, Ellen Dimmick of Ottawa, Ill., and Ethelyn M. Bowling and Joan E. Breault, both of New Bedford; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Lucille Walsh and Herbert Niles. AHMEEK - Gertrude "Gertie" (Pellikka) DeMarois, 81, a resident of Ahmeek Location, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 3, 2005, at her home. Gertie was born on July 18, 1923, in Fulton Location, a daughter of Jacob and Eva Pellikka, attended the local schools and was a graduate of Calumet High School, Class of 1942. As a young women, she worked for the Foley Brothers Store in Mohawk and later, did bookkeeping for the family logging business for many years.She was married to George DeMarois on October 4, 1947, in Calumet and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1998. Also preceding her in death were an infant sister; and a sister, Eva (Bill) Dahlin.She was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Calumet, a former member of St. Mary's Altar Society, and the Keweenaw TOPS Club. DONALD H. PICHE -- WINOOSKI — Donald H. Piche, 79, of Winooski died Monday, May 2, 2005, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. He was born in Winooski on Feb. 1, 1926, the son of Albert and Melina Piche. Donald attended St. Louis Convent. After serving in the Army he made his career as a mason for Reed and Stone. He combined his love of construction with an interest in real estate. In his younger days, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Donald is survived by one brother, Leo and his wife Connie; his sisterin-law, Clara Piche, all of Winter Springs, Fla.; his nieces, Rita Shangraw of Winooski and Ponce Inlet, Fla., Gloria Piche and her husband Damien Langan of Bridgeport, Conn.; his nephew, Bernard Piche Jr. and his wife Jill of Colchester; two great-nephews, Jason Piche of Winooski and Kyle Langan of Bridgeport. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Melina; three brothers, Adelard (Moe), Theodore and Bernard; his nephew, Donald Shangraw; and his friend, Connie Desmarais. For the past four years, Donald had lived at Starr Farm Nursing Center, where he enjoyed meeting other people, especially from Winooski. His recent stay in Fletcher Allen was made more comfortable by the caring staff of Baird 4. The family would like to thank the staff at Baird 4 and Starr Farm Nursing Center for their care and concern. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 5, at 9 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski. Interment will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. MILAN, NH --Mrs. Muriel F. (Rich) Hamel Therrien, 74, of Milan, NH, passed away on Tuesday May 3, 2005 at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin. She was born in Milan on June 18, 1930, the daughter of Victor and Lucy (Fitts) Rich and lived in Berlin and Torrington, CT, for several years and returned to Milan in 1983. Mrs. Therrien was a member of St. Kieran Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish and a member of the Emily Flint Rebekah Lodge in Milan. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a school bus driver for several years and also employed at Granite State Rubber Company and the Eastern Depot Restaurant. Members of the family include two sons, Gerard Hamel and his wife Paula of Milan; and Leonard Hamel and his wife Janet of Manchester, NH; two daughters, Cheryl Labonte and her husband Norm of Milan and Noella Holt and her husband Carl of Milan; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gordon Rich of Gorham, Erland Rich of West Dummer and Gary Rich of Milan; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Delphis Hamel, and her second husband, Paul Therrien; by a brother Norman Rich; and by an infant daughter, Linda. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning May 6, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery in Berlin. LEWISTON - James R. Tardif, 57, of 22 Mitchell St., Lewiston, died Saturday, April 23, at his residence.He was born on Sept. 2, 1947, in Lewiston, the son of George A. and Marie P. Deschenes Tardif. He attended Lewiston schools.He entered the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, was stationed in Germany working in telecommunications and was discharged as Spec. 5 after his two-year enlistment.On Jan. 13, 1969, he started working for the New England Tel and Tel Co. (now Verizon) in Lewiston, until his retirement on May 23, 2003, after 34 years.He was a member of St. Alexandar Nevsky Russian Orthodox Church in Richmond.He is survived by his spouse, Zee, of Lewiston; two brothers, Gerald A. Tardif of Mechanic Falls and Donald R. Tardif of Auburn; four nieces; three nephews; and aunts, uncles and many cousins.He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Jacquelyn Ann Michaud.He will be sadly missed by his brothers and their families, co-workers and church friends.

Trudell, Theodore J. 'Ted' -- Saginaw, Michigan Formerly of Bay City Theodore J. 'Ted' Trudell, age 39 years, died suddenly at his home Sunday, May 1, 2005. He was born on September 16, 1965 in Bay City and has resided in Saginaw for the past three years. Ted was a graduate of Bay City All Saints High School, Class of 1984. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and later in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was currently a phlebotomist with Detroit Bio-Medical Laboratories and was also previously employed with St. Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw. Surviving family members include his girlfriend, Lisa Gebhard; parents, Lynn and Jack Trudell; two sisters, Barie Lynn Trudell Burzynski and her husband, Fred, Michele Lynn Trudell Hugo and her husband, Bryan; a brother, Robert John Trudell; two sons, Christopher Miller and Zachary Trudell; aunts and uncles, Tom and Kathy Murphy and Edward and Debra DeJaeger; along with good friends: Patricia, George, and Matthew Gebhard. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irene and Ted Trudell, Betty and Tom Murphy, and Paul Steinmann; as well as an aunt, Kathleen Eckinger. Emile L. "Pete" Verville Sr., 85 of Andover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, (April 26, 2005) surrounded by his family. He was born April 19, 1920 in Holyoke, MA, and grew up there. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Ann Whelihan Verville. At the time of his death, Pete was employed by the Town of Andover as a transfer station attendant. The Vervilles were the owners of Hebron Surplus during the 1980's-90's. Pete is survived by four sons, Richard F. Verville and his wife Wanda of Wales, MA, James L. Verville and his wife Kathy of Holyoke, MA, Jay K. Linddy of Andover, and Emile L. Verville Jr. and his companion Pam Lessard of Wilbraham, MA; two sisters, Rose Heathfield of Canada and Jackie Fedora of Westfield, MA; grandchildren, Justin Verville, Stacy Lecours, Mark Verville, Lisa Chaffee, Jenny, Amy and Emily Verville; great grandchildren, Cameron and Adam. He is also survived by many special friends including Faye Hoisington and Steve Lorenc of Andover and the families loving companion Roscoe. Pete was an Honorary member of the Andover Volunteer Fire Dept. He will always be remembered for being an election worker and was so proud serving his church. HAMBLETON, W.Va. - Vivian Juanita (Williams) Vachon, 87, a resident of Hambleton, W.Va., departed this life Thursday morning, March 24, 2005 at her home. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to Alzheimer's.She was born June 4, 1917, Benbush, W.Va., a daughter of the late John and Anna (Auvil) Williams. On June 9, 1940, in Thomas, W.Va., she married Wilferd B. Vachon, Sr. They had celebrated 64 years of marriage. Both were longtime residents of Brunswick.Surviving are her husband; a son, Dr. Wilferd B. Vachon Jr. and his wife Ulrike Vachon-Frisch of Orr's Island; a daughter, Dr. Linda A. Vachon, her husband, Dr. Clifford Marshall, and a grandson, Andrew Marshall all of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mary A. Helm, Elpha Tewell; and a brother-in-law, James Tewell, all of Elkins, W.Va.She was predeceased by four brothers, Dayton, Raymond, Theadore, and Ronald Williams; and four sisters, Jessie Watson, Effie Kight, Freda Bible and Lula Goff.She graduated from Parsons High School Class of 1935. She was a candy striper. A homemaker and loving wife and mother, she loved to dance and sing.The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, W. Va., on Tuesday, March 29. Emilienne Verdie Brutinel died peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2005, in Prescott, Arizona at the age of 102. A memorial service will be planned for a future date. Emilienne Verdie was born in Paris, France, on July 17, 1902. She was married in Paris on February 5, 1921, to Donald L. Brutinel, an American G.I. she met at her family's cafe during World War I. She immigrated with her husband to El Paso, Texas in 1922, and she was proud to have become a citizen of the United States. She subsequently lived in Clifton and Safford, Arizona where she and her husband owned and managed apartments and a motel. Upon retirement, Emilienne and Don moved to Show Low and since 1970 lived in Prescott. Emilienne was a part of the Prescott community for more than 30 years. She was a skilled painter of pottery and china, enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler until well into her 80's. In recent years, she divided her time between Casa Grande and Prescott, and after her 100th birthday she resided in Prescott at the Peridot Retirement Community. She was proud of her command of the English language, and was an aficionado of Scrabble and crossword puzzles. Emilienne charmed those that met her with her French accent and joie de vivre. She will be missed by friends and family. She is survived by her daughter, Emily L. Hamill of Prescott, and sons, Robert C. Brutinel of Casa Grande and Maurice P. Brutinel (Jo) of Prescott, nine grandchildren, 26 great-grand-children, and 3 great-great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Donald J. Brutinel, a son-in-law, Donald W. Hamill, and daughter-in-law, Maxine Brutinel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to St. Vincent de Paul or Catholic Social Services. Carr Ward Graham 1935 - 2005 Carr W. Graham, 69, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital in Moncton on Monday, May 2, 2005. Born in Kouchibouguac, NB, he was the son of the late James C. and Mary Elizabeth (MacDonald) Graham. Carr was a retired technician with C.N.T. He was a member of the Craft Lodge, he proceeded through the offices to Worshipful Master and later became a permanent member of the Keltic Degree Team. Past Grand Master of Grand Lodge of New Brunswick as well as offices held were, Senior Grand Warden, District Deputy Grand Master (Dist. 2), Deputy Grand Master of New Brunswick, Grand Master of New Brunswick, Grand Representative of State of Georgia, Honourary member of Grand Lodge of Prince Edward Island, Philip Drader Coronation Chapter Order of the Demolay Advisary Board, honourary member of the Canadian Supreme Council Order of Demolay where he served in various offices. Scottish Rite of Canada, Moncton Lodge of Perfection, Britton Chapter Rose Croix and New Brunswick Consistory. Elphège «Al» Léger (1947-2005) l'Acadie Nouvelle - 4 mai 2005 - Le lundi 25 avril 2005, à l’âge de 58 ans, est décédé Elphège Léger, domicilié à Toronto, mais autrefois de Moncton. Né à Saint-Paul-de-Kent, il était fils de feu Maximin Léger et de Dora (LeBlanc) Léger. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Gwen Rose; son épouse en premières noces, Sheila Cripps; un fils, Micheal de London; deux frères: Léo (Délia) et Normand (Claudette) de Dieppe; son parrain, Henri Cormier de Moncton, ainsi que cinq nièces: Lisa, Lyne, Nicole, Julie et Rachel. Un frère, Joseph, ainsi qu’une soeur, Noëlla, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. M. Léger était un photographe et un musicien chevronné. Il a joué avec plusieurs groupes à la fin des années 1960, dans la région du Grand Moncton, surtout à titre de guitariste des Blue Notes. Il a ensuite déménagé à Toronto où il a joué avec plusieurs orchestres en plus d’être propriétaire d’un studio d’enregistrement.
