NEW BEDFORD -- Mary J. (Donth) Valois, 81, of North Dartmouth died Monday, April 4, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Arthur J. Valois; they were married 60 years. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie (Auer) Donth. She lived in Dartmouth since 1970 and was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. She worked at Continental Screw Co., the Star Store and Bonnie Lane Pajamas. Mrs. Valois attended New Bedford Vocational High School. She loved nature, gardening, animals and feeding the birds. She studied natural and holistic health for more than 40 years. She enjoyed helping people and had much compassion. Survivors include her widower; a daughter, Carole F. Brindamour, and her husband, Roy, of Marblehead; a niece; and a nephew. She was a sister of the late Katherine Bollea. Her funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish followed by interment at Pine Grove Cemetery. FRENETTE, GERARD F., 87, of Brooksville, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Monday (April 4, 2005) in Brooksville. He was born in Arctic, R.I., and came to Brooksville in 2004 from St. Petersburg, where he lived since 1982. He owned Gardner Tile for more than 25 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Church. Survivors include 10 children, Jackie St. Jean, Sandy Fredette, Elaine Aho, Bernie Frenette, Linda Mercier, Lucille Wilbur, Ed Frenette, Connie Peabody, J. Damien Austin and Bob Frenette; 19 grandchildren; and more than 30 great-grandchildren. National Cremation Society, Brooksville.

BELCHERTOWN - Carol Gamache-Taylor passed away on Monday, April 4 after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born in Holyoke, MA, on September 17, 1965. She was the daughter of Gail Ruth Gamache (Miles) and Hugh Anthony Gamache, Sr. Carol graduated from South Hadley High School. She was also a graduate of Holyoke Community College and Mount Holyoke College. During her life, Carol lived in Georgia and California. She also lived in Japan for several years. She returned to Massachusetts where she was living in Belchertown. Carol's passions included reading and weekly trips to local flea markets and tag sales. Her greatest love was to spend time with her family, particularly her daughters. She is survived by both of her daughters, Heather Taylor of Amherst and Connie Bosinger of Belchertown. She is survived by her parents, a sister, Gail Fisher and her husband Mike Pepin of San Diego, CA, a brother, Tim Gamache and his wife Liz of Ludlow, a sister, Cathy Regish and her husband Michael of South Hadley, and a sister Missy Gamache of South Hadley. She was predeceased by an infant brother, Hugh Anthony Gamache, Jr. She also leaves many nieces and nephews to whom she was very devoted, her ex-husband Todd Taylor of Chicopee and her feline companion, Fluffy. A funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by a Mass in Holy Cross Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours are today from 4 to 7 p.m. only. Molnar, Dulyse G. -- April 4, 2004 Dulyse G. Molnar, 84, a resident of 7095 State Rt. 104, in the Town of Oswego, died Monday, at the Oswego Hospital. Mrs. Molnar was born in Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Leon and Elizabeth (LaPrade) Giroux. She moved to Massena at the age of 3, and had lived in Oswego since 1969. She was the wife of the late Steve Molnar, who died in 2001. Mrs. Molnar was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jeanne (Richard) Reno of Hector, and Carol (William R.) Foley of Oswego; a son, Robert (Mary Kay) Molnar of Tully; three brothers, Harry Giroux of Massena, Albert Giroux of Georgia, and Roland Giroux of Syracuse; a sister, Lorraine Schiff of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Jennifer Molnar, Michael Foley, Brian Molnar, Andrea Foley, and Laura Foley; and many nieces and nephews. RUMFORD - Nery Goguen, 92, of Roxbury Pond and St. Petersburg, Fla., died Sunday, April 3, at Rumford Community Home following a long illness.He was born in Rumford, on July 27, 1912, a son of Filicious and Adrienne (LaCroix) Goguen, and was educated in Rumford schools.He married Nora Trepanier on Feb. 4, 1935. During their marriage, they adopted four children and fostered 22 children. He was employed for several years at Bath Iron Works as a welder during World War II. He then worked for more than 25 years at Oxford Paper Co., retiring in 1974. Following his retirement, he moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., and resided at Roberts Mobile Home Park for 25 years.For the past 15 summers while staying at his daughter and son-in-law's cabins at Roxbury Pond, he enjoyed tinkering, fixing the cabins, fishing, gardening, visits from his many friends and most of all, "storytelling." He will be truly missed by all who loved him.He is survived by a son, Raymond Goguen of Portland; two daughters, Roselle Larkin and husband, Roger, of Clinton, Tenn., and Ruth N. Daniel and husband, Dennis, of Roxbury Pond; a sister, Yvette Landry of Fitchburg, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Maureen Muise, Janine Young, Richard Roberts, Christina St. Pierre, Brenda Roberts, Jason Daniel, James Daniel, Michelle Doherty and Merena Curit; and 12 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Daniel, Brooke, Joshua, Brenda, Emily, Aaron, Aimee, Hanna, Alexandra, Noland and Liam. His caregivers in Florida were Nancy, Jerry, Jerbo, Jason, Herbie, Allan, Tom, Pam and Clara. Services for Mrs. Thomas C. Holleman Jr., the former Eleanor Landry, 80, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Arnaud officiating. KATHERINE M. VIENS BURLINGTON — Katherine M. Viens, 75, of Burlington, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 2, 2005, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in Elizabethtown, N.Y., Nov. 13, 1929, the daughter of the late Moses and Bessie (Shappy) Barnes. Katherine had been employed as a cook with many area restaurants, retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral and belonged to the Eagles Club and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Katherine's first love was her eight children. She always put them first. Her joys in life were cooking, collecting cookbooks and trying new recipes. She also loved and cherished all her knickknacks which were mostly of cats, and watching John Wayne movies. Katherine was the beloved mother of eight children. She is survived by Henry Parker and his soul mate, Patricia Fall, of Bedford, N.H., Katherine Patnaude and her husband, Paul, of Baltimore, Md., Janet Viens and her companion, James Ritchie, of Colchester, Jean Tourangeau and her companion, Donald Harris, of Burlington, and Theresa Gonyea and her husband, Joseph, of Highgate Center; nine grand- children and three greatgrandchildren; one sister, Alice Boivin of Burlington; several nieces and nephews; and two special people, Karen Whitten and Elizabeth Parker. She was predeceased by three sons, John, Julius and Albert; one brother, Lawrence Parker; and her husband, Robert Viens. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 7, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. ASHLAND -- John E. Lemire, 74, a resident of Ashland and formerly of Lowell, died Sunday, March 27, in Framingham.He was born on June 24, 1930, son of the late J. Emile and Blanche Lemire.Mr. Lemire enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War and served as a fighter pilot, navigator and bombardier. He retired in 1952, with the rank of captain.According to family members, he was an Eagle Scout who was awarded the Carnegie Medal and The American Legion Award for Heroism in 1947 after he saved a boy from drowning in the Merrimack River.His survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Kathy Lemire of Tyngsboro; two grandchildren, Chynna and Cameron, of Tyngsboro; his former wife, Agnes Lemire; a step-daughter, Jeannie Andrade also of Tyngsboro; a sister, Gabrielle Jussaume of Montreal; and a brother, Robert Lemire of Lincoln. AUGUSTA -- On Sunday morning, April 3, 2005, Louis F. Bourque, 85, died peacefully. He was born August 25, 1919, in Dover, N.H., to George and Annie (Barry) Bourque. He was a lifetime resident of Augusta and a class of 1937 graduate of Cony High School. His wife of more than 50 years, Helen; a brother, Paul Bourque; and a grandchild, Stephen Bourque, predeceased him. He is survived by his brother, Leo Bourque of Augusta; and his eight sons, four daughters-in-law and eight grandchildren. These include Louis and Alberta Bourque of Scarborough and their daughter, Sara Kovacs, and her husband, Chris; Robert and Louise Bourque of Readfield and their sons, Dan, Joe, and Andy; David Bourque of Brunswick; Thomas Bourque of Augusta; James and Paula Ingham-Bourque of Gardiner and their daughter, Bailey, and their son, Casey; Charles Bourque of Mount Vernon; Joseph and Crystal Bourque of Augusta and their son, Nicholas, and daughter, Kimberly; and Jon Bourque of Richmond. Louis was an officer in the Maine National Guard. In World War ll, he served in North Africa, Italy and France. He stayed in the National Guard and retired in 1965 as a major. While in Italy, he met his wife-to-be, an Army nurse, Helen Mary Brubaker of Port Treverton, Pa. After VE Day, they were married in a small town outside of Paris. They resided on South Belfast Avenue for more than 50 years. Louis worked for Depositors Trust Co. for more than 30 years, starting as a teller and working up to vice president and treasurer. He subsequently worked at Waterville Savings Bank. He taught many courses for the American Bankers Association.Louis was a devout Catholic and belonged to St. Mary's Parish and then St. Andrews Parish, both in Augusta. He gave up smoking in the late 1950s in order to contribute to the construction of the St. Mary's School. Louis was a member of Augusta Lions Club. He assisted as a Boy Scout leader and was a troop Scoutmaster. He enjoyed golf all his life and partnered with his brother, Leo, in owning Westernview Golf Course. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. In their later years, Louis and Helen traveled to Hawaii, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. There will be no services at this time. A memorial Mass and interment at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery will be at a later date.

NEW BEDFORD -- Wilfred J. Valliere, 88, of New Bedford died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Odilia (Prenda) Valliere. They were married 58 years. A lifelong resident of New Bedford, he was the son of the late Ralph and Philomene (Bilodeau) Valliere. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church. He was a machinist at Morse Twist Drill until retiring. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in Company A 518th Military Police Battalion. He served during the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Ardennes. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. Mr. Valliere was a member of the VFW Poirier Post and the Bishop Stang Knights of Columbus. He was an avid reader and he enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren the most. Survivors include his widow; a son, Dr. Steven Valliere and his wife, Margaret, of Mattapoisett; two grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew. He was the brother of the late Edmond and Raymond Valliere. His funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Church. Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Arrangements are by Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd.

Elizabeth M. Flibotte , Norfolk -- Elizabeth M. Flibotte, 81, of Newport News, passed from a full life on earth to her next life with her Lord and Savior, April 3, 2005. Betty was a devoted wife and a friend of 53 years to the late Leo P. Flibotte, (U.S. Navy). Born Feb. 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Guy Stovall McDaniel and Annie Elizabeth Newton. Betty is survived by her sons, Leo Flibotte Jr. and wife Becky of Poquoson and Guy Flibotte and wife Melissa of Norfolk; her sister, Violet Fletcher of Chesapeake; her brother, Joe McDaniel of Herrin Ill.; her three grandchildren, Christina, Larry and Steven; and many devoted nieces and nephews. Betty was always ready to lend a hand or an ear to those in need of a friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and those of us whom she touched in that special way. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church. A memorial Mass will follow beginning at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Joseph Majewski. UNITY -- Shirley (York) Breau, 67, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Maine General-Glenridge Facility, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Skowhegan on Jan. 8, 1938, the daughter of Walter and Leona (Innes) York. She grew up in Caratunk, graduating from Bingham High School in 1955. She then attended Farmington State Teachers College, graduating in 1961. While attending Farmington, she met the love of her life, Patrick Breau, whom she married in 1958. She taught school for several years before taking time off from the work force to raise her young children. She then went back to work for Fleet Bank, retiring in 1992 after 16 years of service.She was an active member of the Unity Union Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, financial secretary and member of the United Methodist Women. In 1970, she founded the BUM League cheerleading program. In her community, she was a Girl Scout Leader, Den mother, and a member of both the Unity Ambulance Corp. and Unity Barn Raisers. She cherished her close friendships with those in NOEL Club and Couple's Club. The family wishes to thank the Tuesday morning SWAT Team for their support over the years. Her greatest contribution to this world was that of a caring mother and grandmother. Her family was the benefactor of her great love and guidance. Even in the advanced stages of her disease, she continued to teach her children and grandchildren lessons of perseverance, faith, acceptance and unconditional love. Shirley is survived by her loving husband and caregiver Patrick of Unity; three sons, Kevin and his wife, Jessie, of St. Albans, Kent and his wife, Cathy, of Burnham, Kyle and his wife, Tracy, of Vienna, Virginia; two daughters, Karen Fotter and her husband, Jim, of Gray, and Kerri Oliver and her husband, Edward, of Sidney; 17 grandchildren; three brothers, John York and his wife, Sally, of Caratunk, Carroll York and his wife, Martha, of Caratunk, and William York and his wife, Nancy, of Skowhegan; sister-in-law Annie York of Solon; brother-in law David and his wife, Beverly, of Pittsfield; brother-in-law Lionel and his wife, Theresa, of Greenville; and brother-in-law Hector of Waterville. The family expresses their gratitude to special friends Warren Moody and family, Helen and Max Gillette and Rod and Gloria McElroy. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Colby. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Saturday, April 9, at 11a.m at Unity Union Church, Depot Street, Unity, with the Rev. Rick Boyden officiating. WAREHAM -- Carolyn A. (Gatchell) Malonson, 74, of Wareham died Monday, April 4, 2005, in the Tremont Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Foster and Hazel (Durgin) Gatchell. She was born in East Boston and lived in Brockton and Plymouth before moving to Wareham in 1998. She graduated from East Boston High School. She was a nurse's aide at Newfield House in Plymouth for many years before retiring. Mrs. Malonson was a member of the Margaret-Winthrop Rebekah Lodge of Winthrop for more than 50 years and was a Past Noble Grand. Survivors include two sons, Robert Malonson of Wareham and George Malonson of Plymouth; two daughters, Susan Salvesen of Wareham and Laura-Lee Cranford of Fairhaven; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one niece. She was the sister of the late Hazel Emmons. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Stott, Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Glenwood Cemetery, Everett.

SOMERSWORTH — Louis Joseph Plante, 85, of 230 Route 108, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.He was born in Somersworth on June 21, 1919, the son of Edward and Eva (Lavertue) Plante. He had been a resident of the Somersworth and Dover area all of his life. He was a communicant of St. Charles Church.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After the service, he went to work for Kidder Press and then for Moore Business Forms, where he worked as a machinist until his retirement in Dec. of 1977. He was a member of the Dover Loyal Order of Moose 443, American Legion Post 8 and a member of the Masons. He loved people, going to Florida and fishing. LaBRECHE, STEPHEN O. Stephen O. LaBreche, past president of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation and local attorney, died on April 1, 2005, at the age of 54. Steve was born in Bangor, Maine in 1951, the third of seven children in a military family. By the age of 18 he had lived in 14 states, from the Gulf Coast to the Arctic Circle. He graduated from the University of New Orleans and earned a Juris Doctorate from LSU. He married Carol Mitchell of Shreveport, Louisiana in 1984, and moved to San Diego in 1989. Steve was a member of the California Bar and practiced law before becoming a partner at Compass Realty and Mortgage in 2004. Steve was active in the Carlsbad school district, helping to set its strategic plan and pass the 1997 school bond. He served on the Carlsbad Educational Foundation board for eight years. Most recently he rallied more than 200 volunteers for the Kids are Worth a Million telethon which took place the night before he died. She was born in Chicopee and owned her own hairdressing business called Laura's for 15 years. She was also employed by F.W. Sickles Co. and also worked 9 years as an inspector for the Smith and Wesson Co. in Springfield, retiring in 1983. She was the daughter of the late Guilbert and Rosanna (Menard) LeClair. She was predeceased by her husbands Arthur Gregoire in 1954 and Albert in 1999. Laura was predeceased by 6 sisters, Flora Lussier, Marie Ryan, Irene Peltier, Alice Nieroda, Reah Bushey, and Emma (Mortell) Adkins. She was also predeceased by 4 brothers, Edmund, Albert, Frances and Anthony LeClair. Laura also leaves Rita Hundley, a "niece" and close companion, and many other nieces and nephews. She also was a registered dog breeder for pomeranian and pekingese dogs. She was born May 4, 1919, in St. Anne, the daughter of Wesley and Harriet Burling Sirois. Surviving are her husband, Wallace F. Beaver, whom she married April 4, 1942, in St. Anne; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Roger Beaver of Kankakee, Wally and Shari Beaver of Wilmington, Robert Beaver of St. Anne; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joyce and Paul Hosier of Dwight, Zandra Cohen of St. Anne; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. One son, William Beaver; three brothers, Percy, Floyd and Roland Sirois; one sister, Arlene Sirois; two great-grandsons, Jacob Daniel Cohen and Michael Dean Sutton; and one son-in-law, William Cohen, are deceased. She enjoyed flower gardening, dancing, playing the piano and fishing.

Sister Mary Andrew Songe, a Marianite of Holy Cross for 73 years, died peacefully at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Facility in Opelousas, LA on Monday, April 4, 2005 at 6:55 P.M. Born Leona Songe on June 9, 1908. Daughter of the late Alice Duplantis Songe and Aurelien Songe of Morgan City, LA. She entered the Marianites of Holy Cross Novitiate on September 8, 1931, made first profession of vows on August 10, 1933, and final profession of vows on August 10, 1936. Sister Mary Andrew earned a B. A. in education from Loyola University in New Orleans and ministered as an elementary teacher for 7 years at St. John's in Franklin, 3 years at Sacred Heart in Morgan City, 4 years at St. Edmund in Eunice, 3 years at St. Agnes in New Orleans, 12 years teaching high school at Holy Angels in New Orleans and 1 years at St. Alphonsus in Ocean Springs, MS. After 45 years of classroom teaching, Sister retired from the classroom, but continued as an educator, tutoring for 7 additional years at Our Lady of Holy Cross convent in New Orleans. From 1985 to 1996, now in retirement, she continued to reside at Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent and in1996 moved to St. Margaret's Daughters Nursing Home in New Orleans. In 1999 another move was made to Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare Facility. Sister then made a final move to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Facility in 2002. Sister was preceded in death by nine siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF SORROWS CHAPEL AT HOLY ANGELS, 1011 GALLIER STREET, NEW ORLEANS, LA on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 4:30 P.M. with visitation beginning at 3:00 P.M. BARRINGTON — Diane P. Felong, 65, of Greenhill Road, passed away in her home on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, after a brave fight against cancer.She was born in Rochester on March 27, 1940, the daughter of Edgar and Emma Beaulieu, and was a lifetime resident of the area. She attended Catholic Schools, and graduated from Holy Rosary High School in 1958. She was an active parishioner of St. Leo Church in Gonic, and was a member of the church choir and assisted with flowers and landscaping at the church. She also served in the Mercy Circle at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.She worked many years at the former Clarostat Company in Dover, prior to her retirement. She enjoyed gardening at her home, and traveling.It is impossible to put into words a way to describe a lifetime shared with Diane. Instead, her family members have chosen to list some words that help to depict who she was, to those who knew and loved her. LARUE BROWN, RAMONA, 59, beloved and respected artist and mother from 1946 to March 19, 2005 in Miami. She fought a courageous battle after being diagnosed with colorectal cancer in May 2001.
