Husband of the late Katri Arrikka and beloved father of Roy (Elvi Makela) of Westbank, B.C. Very beloved grandfather to John (Ingrid Hansen) of Calgary, AB, and of Lisa (Curtis Mortimer) of Georgetown, ON. BURLINGTON — Evelyn B. (LaFreniere) Pease, formerly of Rutland, Vt., passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2005, at the Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington, Vt., at the age of 91. She was born on January 29, 1914, in Chicopee Falls, Mass., daughter of Aurore DesMarais and Edward LaFreniere. Evelyn attended schools in Massachusetts including Chicopee High School and later Westfield Normal School, where she graduated with a teaching degree. She married Maurice S. Pease in 1940 and they remained together until his death in 1985.Evelyn is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Bonnie Pease of Oakdale, Conn., Dale and Madeleine Pease of Lexington, Mass., Neal and Rosemary Pease of Colchester, Vt., and Dr. Earl Pease and wife Lisa of Essex, Vt.; five grandchildren, Heidi Pease, Emily Pease, Matthew Pease, Holly Pease and Adam Pease; one brother, Dr. Edward LaFreniere and wife Janine of Chicopee, Mass.; as well as nephews, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by granddaughter Erika Pease in 2001.Evelyn was first a teacher, then a homemaker and longtime employee of the Rutland Hospital. She was a 50-year member of Grace Congregational Church of Rutland. She volunteered at the Rutland Open Door Mission, Rutland Hospital, Eden Park Nursing Home and for the Cub Scouts. She was a member of the French Club, Rutland Women's Club, Senior Citizens Council, Rutland Historical Society, AARP, Hexagon Club, Otter Valley Homemakers and Extension Homemakers Club. Evelyn enjoyed her friends at the Rutland Senior Center and their many outings.She was blessed with many friends in and around Rutland as well as caring and loving neighbors.A memorial service will be held at the Grace Congregational UCC Chapel in Rutland at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2005. A reception will follow in the Church Parlor. Burial in Middlefield, Mass., will occur at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Evelyn Pease to Grace Congregational UCC, 8 Court St., Rutland VT 05701.Tossing Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

FRANKLIN, NH -- Julie (Goulet) Coe, 94, formally of 1 Jewel St., Gorham, passed away Wednesday March 30, 2005 at the Mountain Ridge Center. She was born December 15, 1910 in Caribou, ME, the daughter of Frederick and Anna (Martin) Damboise. She was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2520. She also owned Julie’s Café in Berlin for 30 years. On April 29, 1965 she won Berlin City Sportswoman of the Year. She sponsored softball, basketball, hockey and bowling teams. Her softball team won the city championship four consecutive years. She is survived by her daughter; Annette Couture of Berlin; one brother, Arthur Damboise of El Paso, TX; seven grandchildren, Shirlene Thompson, Linda Villard, Terry Couture, Wayne Couture, Jerry Couture, Pamela Tardif and Karen Morton; 12 great grandchildren, Chris and Jarod Guay, Michelle, Charles and Scott Villard, Jason Couture, Travis, Nick and Sam Couture, Crystal and Chetham Tardif and Brandyn Morton; and three great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Louis and Paul Damboise; two sisters, Rose Damboise and Lena Charette; two grandchildren, Janet Couture and Roney Couture. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday April 4, at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin, NH. DOVER — Cecelia M. Harvey, 98, of 195 Dover Point Road died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at St. Ann Healthcare Center. Born in Dover on Nov. 6, 1906, the daughter of George and Margaret (McArdle) Desautel, she had lived here all of her lifetime and had been a communicant of St. Mary Church.She was a member of the AARP and the Homemakers of Strafford County.She is survived by a sister, Margaret McMahon of Florida, and several nieces and nephews, including Juanita Weeden and her husband, Ron, and Daniel McDevitt, all of Dover.She was the widow of Ernest Harvey and was also predeceased by a son, Ernest Harvey Jr., and a brother, Joseph Desautel.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel at St. Ann Healthcare Center, 195 Dover Point Road, with the Rev. Al T. Duquenne 79, of 586 Hamilton Chase Drive, Moore, SC, formerly of Easley, SC, and husband of the late Mildred McCall Duquenne, died Saturday, April 2, 2005. Born in Ziegler, IL, a son of the late Alphonse and Louise LeFevre Duquenne, Mr. Duquenne retired as manager of engineering with Schwitzer Turbocharges in Asheville, NC. He was a Veteran of the US Army Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam & Fred Brune of Spartanburg and Candice & Lawrence Reuben of Indianapolis; a son and daughter-in-law, John Greg & Jane Duquenne of Indianapolis; brother, Robert Eugene Duquenne of Champaign, IL; a sister, Edith Louise Baran of Taylorville, IL; four grandchildren, Jarrett Duquenne, Christopher Brune, Benjamin Brune & Emily Reuben; and a great grandson, Jacob Duquenne. Moise J. Landry, 80, a native of Chackbay and a resident of Raceland, died April 2, 2005. He is survived by one son: Randy Landry and one daughter: Elaine L. Pierce. He is also survived by his son-in-kaw Nickles Pierce and his daughter-in-law: Karen G. Landry. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, Brother Villier Landry and sisters: Doris Sanchez, Una Ledet, Annie Matherne, and Leona Crochet. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bella Folse Landry, his parents Lucien Felician and Ernestine Rousseau Landry. LUDLOW - Edward F. LaBelle, 87, of Holy Cross Circle formerly of Chicopee died Friday, April 1, 2005 in an East Longmeadow nursing home. Born in Chicopee, MA, October 30, 1917 he was the son of the late Elzear & Josephine (Begley) LaBelle. He was proud to serve his country in World War II as a Private First Class in the Army of the United States. Ed worked for Moore Drop Forge Co with over 37 years of service. He later worked for a driver with Rokosz Livery Service. He was a member of the Chicopee Moose Lodge, and a member of the Ludlow Sr. Center. He is survived by his wife Alice (St. Pierre) LaBelle, and his children, Letitia Blancherd and her husband Paul of FL, Audrey O'Connor and her husband James of East Longmeadow, Sandra Welles and her husband William of Springfield, Pamela Dusza and her husband Walter of Ludlow, Janice Czuchra and her husband Daniel of Chicopee, and Ludlow School Committee Member Gail LaBelle and her husband William Boucher Jr. of Ludlow. NORRIDGEWOCK -- Flavie B. (Lanctot) Williams Swain, 79, of Norridgewock passed away Saturday morning, April 2, 2005, at Maplecrest Rehabilitation and Living Center in Madison after a long illness.She was born on April 18, 1925, in Skowhegan, the daughter of William and Elize (Thibault) Lanctot, the second of seven children.Flavie graduated from Bloomfield Academy in 1943. She married Lawrence R. Williams in October 1947; he passed away in January 1956. She then married Eugene H. Swain on Feb. 15, 1963; he passed away on Oct. 15, 2000. She worked at home to raise her children, and also at the Lamkin Hatchery in Skowhegan for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and especially watching birds.Survivors include five children, Kenneth A. Williams and fiancee Ruby Gordon, Dolly A. Bernier and husband Wild Turkey, Lawrence R. Williams and wife Verna, Jean E. York and husband, Tim, and Neil A. Swain and wife Linda; four stepsons, David Swain and wife Mite, Gerald Swain and wife Thelma, Brian Swain and companion Tony, and Daryl Swain and fiancee Gail; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Helen Erickson and her husband, Leo; and two brothers, Richard Lanctot, and John Lanctot and his wife, Joyce. Flavie was predeceased by her two husbands; a son, Roy K. Williams; her parents; her sister Phildora Lapointe; and two brothers, Felix and James Lanctot.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, with the Rev. SANFORD - Paul C. Legere, 65, of Sanford, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Mar. 25, 2005.Mr. Legere was born on Apr. 30, 1939 in Cambridge, Mass., the son of Leo and Margaret Galibois Legere. At the age of 10, Mr. Legere moved to Sanford. He attended local schools, and graduated with the 1958 class of St. Ignatius High School. He enlisted in the National Guard, and was a graduate of the Golden School of Beauty.For many years Mr. Legere supported his family as proprietor of Chez Paul; where he worked as a beautician. He later worked for St. Ignatius Church, and retired from Sanford Institution for Savings in 2001.Mr. Legere was an active communicant of St. Ignatius Church; where he served in various capacities over his many loyal years. He loved to work in his flower garden, go hunting, or fishing, but above all spending time with family was truest to his heart.He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Pauline M. (Roux) Legere of Sanford; their four sons, Dennis M. Legere of Springvale, Stephen P. Legere of Springvale, David A. Legere and his wife Melanie of Berwick, Marcel D. Timothy E. Bilodeau , “Tim”, age 38 of Silver Street in Milton, died Friday evening, April 1, 2005 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, after a brief illness. Born November 10, 1966 in Rochester, a son of Richard J. and Barbara A. (Patch) Bilodeau, he attended Nute High School in Milton, where he resided for most of his life. He resided in Dover for several years. In the restaurant business, he had worked as a Bartender and also as a Chef, he had been employed at the Friendship Inn in Dover, Howard Johnsons and the Anchorage Inn , both in Portsmouth, a former Manager at the Holiday Inn in Portsmouth, most recently a Bartender at Dante’s in Barrington. Tim was an avid New England Patriots Fan and a Boston Red Sox Fan. He enjoyed working out and tanning. Survivors include his parents: Richard J. & Barbara A. Iona Jean Chamberlain 1926 - 2005 LUTZ MOUNTAIN, NB - Iona Jean Chamberlain, 78, of Lutz Mountain, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, April 3, 2005. Born in Lutz Mountain on October 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Bryon and Mable Steeves. Iona worked on the family farm along side her husband, Gerald for many years, she and her husband, were also foster parents from 1961 to the mid 70's, in that period they had looked after over 130 children. She enjoyed horseback riding and at the age of 16 she was named New Brunswick's Female Sheep Sheering Champion. She also enjoyed the C.B Radio and her call name was Aunt Jemima. She was a member of Truth Tabernacle Church, 50 Lonsdale Drive, Moncton. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Gerald; by her sons, David and his wife, Ruth Anne of Turtle Creek and Glen and his wife, Alice of Lutz Mountain; by grandchildren, David Jr. and Chantal of Moncton, Devon of Riverview, Wayne of Saint John, Bryon and Darrell of Calgary and Travis of BC; and a great granddaughter, Hailey Patricia; and by a sister, Alice of Moncton. Besides her parents she was predeceased by siblings, Edwin, Doris, Ken and Freda. BELIVEAU, NORMAN 'JEFF', SR., 63, of Greenville Avenue, Johnston, died April 2, 2005 at home. He was the husband of Caroline (Gendron) Beliveau. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Leo J. and Flora (Jeffrey) Beliveau. Mr. Beliveau was employed as a mechanic for Allied Van Lines for 30 years until his disability. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was also Past President and 4th degree grand knight for the K of C #398 Hope Council and a member of the Elks Lodge 1258 in Johnston. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Norman Beliveau, Jr., of Johnston, Steven Beliveau of West Warwick, one daughter, Dana Beliveau of Cranston, seven grandchildren, one great grandson, two sisters Barbara Mayse of Pascoag and June Hogan of Warwick.His funeral will be held Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Ave., Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Ave., Riverside at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Coderre, 86, of 425 Drozdyk Drive in Groton, formerly of Meadow Drive in Gales Ferry, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.She was born on Nov. 27, 1918, in New York City, the daughter of Thomas and Maria Reid Fullerton.Betty had married George Coderre on Nov. 21, 1949 in Gales Ferry.She attended the Ledyard Grammar Schools and graduated from Norwich Free Academy in Norwich before attending the Norwich Business School.Betty had worked for the Civil Service at the U. S. Submarine Base in Groton for over 15 years in the procurement department. She then became an assistant in the Ledyard Board of Selectman's office at the Town Hall, retiring in 1970.She was a member for over 65 years of the Gales Ferry Methodist Church and had been a former member of the Ledyard Senior Citizens before moving to Groton. She had served as the secretary for the seniors for several years, and was a former member of the Ledyard Republican Town Committee.Her interests included arts & crafts, antiques and golf.Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Emily Schwartz, of Groton; a niece, Nancy Winkler, of Old Saybrook; and two nephews, Martin Schwartz, of Salem, and Thomas Schwartz of Harrisburg, Pa.The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Byles- Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., with burial to follow in the Ledyard Center Cemetery. LeFevre, Ann M., -- Saginaw, Michigan. -- Passed away Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Auburn Care Center, after a 4 1/2 year illness. Age 91 years. Ann McPharlan was born March 10, 1914 in Saginaw and was a lifelong resident of Saginaw until her illness. She married James A. LeFevre on May 21, 1934. He passed away January 23, 1987. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral where she was a active member of several groups and committees. Ann had a passion for playing cards, especially Bridge. She played to win and 'win she did' Mom would brave a storm for a good card game. Surviving are two daughters and one son, Ruthan (Gary) McPhillips, Sandra LeFevre and Paul LeFevre; a daughter-in-law, Mary LeFevre; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren who will affectionately remember her as 'G G'. She also leaves her good friends, sister-in-law, Harriett McPharlan of Bay City and her four sons. Ann was predeceased by her husband, James, son James and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary Cathedral. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Carpentier, 88, of Ratta Road, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, peacefully at her home with loved ones and Hospice caregivers at her side.She was born in Chazy on March 17, 1917, the daughter of Hubert and Lillian (Ratta) Patnode. Connie married Paul Carpentier on May 28, 1938, at Sacred Heart Church.He died November 20, 1995. Constance was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She was a foreman at Chazy Orchards, where she worked for 19 years. LEWISTON - Maurice Therrien, 66, of Lewiston, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, April 2, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.He was born on April 24, 1938, in Lewiston, the son of Wilfred Therrien and Adrienne Levesque Therrien.He attended Lewiston schools and worked for Maine Electronics and the Lewiston School Department, at the Middle School, before his retirement in 2000.After retiring, he continued to work part-time at Lee Auto Mall as a courier.On June 8, 1963, Maurice married his wife of 41 years, Jacqueline Chretien Therrien.He was a 4th degree Knight at Council 106, East Avenue, and loved to attend the dances hosted by the Knights of Columbus, dancing the night away with his beloved wife Jackie.He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his passion to always lend a helping hand.He was an avid fisherman, reader, and loved to spend time with his granddaughter, Ariana.He is survived by his wife, Jackie; three children, Jeannine and Charles Davis of Virginia, Sharon and John Vallee of Lewiston, Gerald and Maria Therrien of Auburn; a sister, Monique Gayton of Lisbon; three brothers, Adrien and Pauline Therrien of Florida, Laurier and Diane Therrien of Lewiston, Marc and Janet Therrien of New Hampshire, one grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

THOURET - Claude G. Sr., of Matawan, N.J., on Sunday, April 3, 2005, beloved husband of the late June Thouret in 1977, devoted father of Claude G. Jr. and Marianne (Stagnitto) of Matawan, dear brother of Blanche Horvath of Brick and the late Edmund Thouret, loving grandfather of Claude G. III. and Justin P. of Matawan. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and took part in the Normandy Invasion. He was also a chemical operator for the Givaudan Corporation in Clifton, N.J. for 35 years, retiring in 1979. Services are Thursday, April 7, 2005, 9 a.m. at DAY FUNERAL HOME, 361 Maple Pl., Keyport, N.J. 07735, followed by a Mass 10 a.m. at St. Clement's R.C. Church, Matawan. JOHNSON, SHIRLEY AILEEN, (nee Clark) (Gaudet) (Johnson)- On Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Shirley A. Johnson peacefully passed away, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 13, 1935 to Emma (Byers) and Milton Clark, Shirley lived her entire life in Saint John, NB. Her working career as a cake decorator was spent at Sobey's and Dominion for many years. She then found her creative side and opened Leisure Time Ceramics where she spent many happy hours teaching others and socializing. Summers were spent at her summer camp in Big Cove on the Washademoak Lake. Her last employment was at the Golden Ball. Her pleasures in life were her family and friends, knitting, sewing and Bingo. Shirley was pre-deceased by her first husband Lionel Byron Gaudet in 1972 and her second husband George Walter Johnson in 1990. Also pre-deceased by her sisters Erminie, Helen and Leila and her brother William. She is survived by sons, Roger (Angela) of Saint John, Lionel of Oromocto, Patrick (Keri Lynn) of Winnipeg, MB and step-son James of Saint John and daughters Gail Buckley (Jim) of Saint John, Joyce Ricketson (Ken) of Calgary, AB, Penny Gaudet, and step-daughter Tanya Leblanc (David) both of Saint John. Nanny will be missed by her grandchildren Candice, Amanda, Dustin, Craig, Brandon, Danny, Kati, Cody, Jamey, Chance, Cole, Byron, Victoria and Julia, one brother, Alan, four sisters, Bonny, Donna, Peggy, and Isabel and numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Following cremation, interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
