Gerald Gosselin, 83, Sarasota, died March 28, 2005. He was born April 6, 1921, in Bellingham, Mass., and came to Sarasota in 1986 from Cumberland, R.I., where he was in maintenance for the department of schools. He served in the Coast Guard. Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughters Louise of Sarasota, Jeanne Costa of Attleboro, Mass., and Susan Stephor of New Brunswick, N.J.; sons Norman and Michael, both of Sarasota; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ziegler: Jane Ann 1931 - 2005 Jane Anne Ziegler of Drumheller passed away on March 3, 2005 at the age of 73 years. Jane was born May 21, 1931 in Drumheller, and raised in the community. She resided in Vancouver for many years where she was an active member of the Army and Navy Club. After leaving Vancouver, she resided in Calgary for many years prior to moving back to Drumheller. She will be sadly missed by all her family and numerous friends. Jane was predeceased by her companion Nelson McFarlane in 2004, by her mother Grace Terris, sisters Ethel Boughton and Lynda Brennan. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Monday, March 7, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Courtney-Winter's Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Hendrickson officiating. DALLAIRE, J.V. PAUL; 70; died March 7, 2005; in Ft. Pierce at his residence. Mr. Dallaire was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1975 from Pontiac, Michigan. He worked for Ft. Pierce Utilities Authority as a Drafting Technician for 15 years, also worked for General Motors, Pontiac Motor Division, for 10 years as a Die Maker. He was a graduate of Rochester High School, Michigan (Class of 54), excelling in track and broke many records. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and western movies, and was an avid ice hockey fan. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Nancy Dallaire of Ft. Pierce; daughters, Lisa Kommer of Vero Beach, Aimee Culley and Rachel Dallaire of Ft. Pierce; sons, Gregg Dallaire of Jacksonville, Joey Dallaire and Mark Dallaire both of Ft. MANCHESTER, NH --Mr. Richard S. "Rick" Dalphonse, 42, of Manchester, NH died unexpectedly on March 29, 2005 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. He was born in Berlin, NH, on April 16, 1962, the son of Anthony and Helen (Sanborn) Dalphonse. Raised in Gorham, NH, Rick lived several years in Silver Lake before residing in Manchester for the past 10 years. He currently worked as a supervisor for the Maintenance Department at Riverside Apartments and LA Classics in Manchester. He also enjoyed bartending at the Canadian Club where he worked part time. Known for his love for life, Rick was enjoyed and loved by all of those who were fortunate to have known him. His never-ending thoughtfulness deeply touched the lives of all that knew him. He was a member of the Canadian Club, Son's of the American Legion, VFW and the Workmans Club. SPRINGFIELD - Rita A. (Daly) Metayer, 79, a lifelong resident of the City of Springfield, died late Tuesday evening at her residence. She was born and educated in Springfield, the daughter of the late Dennis A. Daly, Sr. and Helen (O'Connell) Daly and was a graduate of the former Sacred Heart High School and Westfield State Teacher's College Class of 1946. Rita began her career in Windsor, CT, where she taught in the elementary school system for several years. She later taught in the Springfield School System for over 27 years including the Washington Street School and the Alice B. Beal School. Rita was a member of the Westfield State Teachers College Alumni Association, Massachusetts Teachers Association, Retired Education Association of Massachusetts (Hampden East Chapter) Retired State and County Municipal Employee Association, Sacred Heart Alumni Association, an avid long time member of the Franconia Women's Golf League, Communicant of Holy Cross Church and a long time member of the Catholic Women's Club. Rita leaves one son, Barry P. Metayer and his wife, Anne of Wilbraham, one daughter, Joanne C. Lambert with her husband, Jeff of Oaks Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard, one brother, Joseph D. Daly and his wife, Jeannette of Longmeadow, one sister, Mary Morris and her husband, George of Harwich, MA, five grandchildren, Justin Cheney, Michael A., Stephen M., and Katherine A. Southard, Jr. died last year. She leaves two sons Gerald F. (Lucille) Jacques of Rochdale and Alan E. (Marilyn) Jacques of Sedrowooley, WA, a daughter Dorothy D. (Robert) Eggleston of Rochdale, three sisters Dorothy M. Jyringi and Kathleen M. Jyringi both of Rochdale and Theresa I. LaPlante of Charlton, a step-son David Southard of Worcester, a step-daughter Janice (Bert) Cellucci of N.J., 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother Dennis A. Dumas and a sister Ruth A. Ryan. Mrs. Southard was born in Toronto, Canada daughter of Alfred E. and Mamie (LeBrake) Dumas. She was a machine operator at Carleton Woolen and Worcester Tool & Stamp before retiring. She was a member of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church and their Ladies Guild, and the American Legion-Cherry Valley Post 443, Women’s Auxillary. She enjoyed knitting and donating various items to the Leicester Women’s Club and St. Aloysius-St. Jude’s Ladies Guild. She was an avid gardener, rock collector and hunter. The funeral will be held Saturday, April 2 from MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. He also leaves five grandchildren.He was the past president of the Life Underwriters and he enjoyed a career in the insurance business from 1956-2004. Curtis Alan Page, 50, of 238 Stark Street, Gilford, NH, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 29th. He was born in Caribou, Maine on August 12, 1954. He was the son of Dolores Page of Belmont, and the late Bernard page. Curt was the owner and operator of CAP Construction. He was a master craftsmen who loved working alongside his brothers. Curt is survived by his wife, Donna (Legassie) Page of Gilford, his four children, Kendra Guay of Gilford, Megan Hoyt of Moultonborough, Timothy Page of Meredith, and Kaitlyn Page of Gilford. He leaves three special grandchildren, Brooke, Derek and Jacob Guay of Gilford. He is also survived by his mother, Dolores Page of Belmont, his sister Debbie and brothers, David, Kevin and Bobby Page, as well as a large, extended family who loved him dearly. In honoring the family's wishes there will be no calling hours. A service will be held at South Baptist Church, Laconia, NH on Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 am. Tetreault, 68, of Chazy passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., with his wife and family by his side.He was born on Dec. 13, 1936, in Chazy, the son of Jean Baptiste and Alexandrine (Fortin) Tetreault.He owned and operated a family dairy farm for many years. He also owned Ken’s Marina and worked as a greens keeper at the North Country Golf Club. He was a 4th degree member, past Grand Knight and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus 3525. Zachariassen: Raymond W. 1921 - 2005 Ray Zachariassen of Rosebud, AB, beloved husband of Phyllis, passed away March 4, 2005, in Strathmore Hospital after a brief struggle with lung cancer. Ray was loved and respected, and will be remembered always, by his five children, their spouses and his six grandchildren: Donna, Calgary; Roy, Laurie, Kayla and Courtney, Chestermere; Richard and Helen, Rosebud; Judy, John and Matthew (McKee), Calgary; and Linda, Andy, Daniel, Sara and Liam (Wong), Yellowknife. Ray will also be lovingly remembered by his sister, Ruth Colbert, Hanna; his sister-in-law, Rose Edgar, Innisfail; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Iris Dresser, Carbon; his many nieces and nephews; and family in Norway. Friends and neighbours, especially those in the 'coffee club', will miss his presence. Ray was born November 1, 1921 in Youngstown, AB, the fourth child of Erik and Ingeborg Zachariassen, Norwegian immigrants. He grew up in Stanmore, AB,and, in 1944, moved west to work in the Carbon/Rockyford area, where he also enjoyed playing on the local baseball and hockey teams. Ray and Phyllis (nee Dresser) were married February 3, 1950, and started farming in the Redland/Rosebud area. Ray was active in the local Lions Club, and enjoyed curling and golf. In 1977, Ray was elected as a councillor in the County of Wheatland No. 16. He served on council for 15 years, three of them as reeve. Ray retired as a councillor in 1992, but never retired from farming - he helped Richard with the harvest in the fall of 2004. Ray was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Chris and Harry Price, Red Deer; his brother, Hans Zachariassen, Hanna; and his brothers-in-law, Mac Colbert, Hanna, and Bill Edgar, Innisfail. Ray's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for him during his illness - the staff at the Peter Lougheed Centre; the staff at the Foothills Medical Centre in Emergency and on Unit 37; and the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, especially Meina. Thank you to Dr. Fanning and to the staff at the Strathmore Hospital - the nurses, especially, whose skill and kindness in caring for Ray, and his family, are so appreciated. Monica leaves to mourn her husband Gordon Hillgardner; one son Gordon Jr. (Carol); one daughter Vange Lawson (Richard); and one granddaughter Amanda Lawson, all of Edmonton. Monica was predeceased by her parents George and Monica Schaffer, and one brother, Brian. Doris Dufton January 22, 1919 - March 26, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Engulfed by the spring sunshine, Dorey, in her eighty-sixth year, peacefully passed away as she had lived, with dignity and courage, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at St. Boniface Hospital. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory her loving daughter Jayne, son-in-law Blake and grandsons Andrew and Daniel Forbes. Also left to mourn is her step-grandson Chad (Karen) Tristram, step-son-in-law Ken Tristram and stepson Murray Dufton, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended families and friends. The last of her generation, Dorey is now reunited with her fiancé Tommy Richardson, her first husband, Jack Brumwell, her son Richard Brumwell, and her second husband Harvey Dufton. She also joins her parents Amy and Harry Partrick, brothers Harold (May), Norman (Nina), Gren (Julie), sisters Renee Chappell (Ron) and Elsie. Dorey was born on January 22, 1919 in Winnipeg, the fifth child of Amy and Harry. In her early working years life long friendships were cultivated through the various positions she held working at Zellers. Dorey’s fiancé, Tommy Richardson, was killed in action during World War II. Dorey joined the war effort working in Toronto. Returning to Winnipeg in 1946, she met and married Jack Brumwell in 1947. Dorey relished her new role as a homemaker and the birth of Richard William and Jayne Allison completed the family. With Jack’s passing, she rejoined the workforce briefly working at O’Keefe Breweries and then for many years with MTS. She married her second husband Harvey Dufton in 1969 and they had many happy times at their cottage in Gimli. Dorey faced many challenges along her life’s journey. She earned the respect of all whose paths she crossed. Dorey enjoyed the quiet joys of life’s offerings, family gatherings, sitting on the pier at Gimli and her cherished grandsons phone calls and visits. She spent many an hour knitting and crocheting to the delight of grateful recipients. Her home reflected her joy of being a homemaker. Her freshly baked scones will be missed. She was a faithful friend and a wonderful neighbour. Her thoughtfulness and consideration of others were well-learned lessons by her family. Due to her failing health in her later years, she eagerly anticipated daily afternoon visits and “cuppa tea” with her dear long time friend Doreen “Bunny” Whiteford. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the St. Boniface Hospital staff for their exemplary care and attention given to Mom over the years. The family would also like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to her friends at 20 Fort St. and the staff of St. Boniface Day Hospital, Safeway Marion pharmacy and Home Care. I am survived by my husband, Alastair, who in sickness and health, ups and downs, took care of me and stayed by my side. I loved you from the first day I saw you until the day I died. Following cremation, the public are invited to a memorial service at St. Marys Anglican Church, Miramichi, on Monday, April 4, 2005, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Alan Reynolds. Interment will be in St. Pauls Anglican Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family. BROWN, ELSIE MAY It is with deep sadness that the family of Elsie May Brown announces her passing. She died peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 29, 2005, with her family and Rev. Sharpe by her side. Born in Vancouver, BC, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and May (Young) Austin and wife of the late Perry Allaby Brown. Elsie was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Women's Auxillary branch #4, a member of the L.O.B.A. and the 55 Plus Club. She is survived by two daughters Sheila Fairweather (Lyndon), Carole Ann Smith (Larry) all of Fredericton; two sons Perry "Ted" (Cindy), Richard (Marilyn) all of Fredericton; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother Leonard Rutter of Vancouver, BC; half sister Mae Chomechk of Abbotsford, BC; sister-in-laws Bessie Matthews and Bertha Farquharson, Annie Porter, Leota Brown; several nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends on Friday at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton from 3:30 - 5:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home on Saturday April 2, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Venerable John Sharpe officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
