RYAN, EILEEN RUTH Eileen Ryan passed away on March 26, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton. She was born October 19, 1910 in Richibucto, NB, the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Edward Lawton. She moved to Lynn, Massachusetts at an early age. On April 20, 1928 she married Royal Ryan and they moved to New Brunswick. They lived most of their 45 years together in Fredericton, both being members of Christ Church Cathedral. Eileen is survived by her son, Ralph (Mavis) Ryan and her daughter, Nancy (Norvel) Robertson; her grandchildren, Debbie (Brian) Christenson, James (Jeanette) Ryan, Peter Ryan, Tanya (Steven) Johnson, Mike (Murielle) Munro, Janice Munro and Marcie (Kevin) Platt; her great-grandchildren, Pam (James) Callan, Peggy (Aaron) Payne, Melissa Ryan, Victoria Ryan, Elizabeth Ryan, Ryan Munro and Michael Platt and her great-greatgrandson, Micah Payne. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Elizabeth and Edward Lawton, her husband, Royal Ryan, her grandson, Ronald Ryan, 11 sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home. Her funeral service will take place Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the J. A. COLWELL, HILDA JUANITA The death of Hilda Colwell occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Sunday, March 27th, 2005. Born in Saint John, NB she was the daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Globe) York. Hilda was a life member of the Jemseg Baptist Church as well as organist for over 40 years. She was a retired member of the NB Teachers Association, Director of Provincial PC Women's Association, President of Mayflower Senior Citizens Club, a life member of Lower Jemseg Women's Institute, a life member of United Baptist Women's Missionary Society as well as an Honorary life member of the Oromocto, Gagetown PC Association. She is survived by her husband, George; her sons, Alan (Sandra) Colwell of Musquash, NB and Stephen (Jean) Colwell of New Maryland, NB; her daughters, Judith Colwell of Sackville, NB and General Linda Colwell of Ottawa, ON; her grandchildren, Bradley, Janna, Bryan, Shawnee and Timothy Colwell; her sister, Marjorie (Gerald) Hastings of Fredericton, NB; as well as her sisterin-law, Myrtle Farris of Fredericton, NB. She is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Myrtle York; her step-father, Claremont Dykeman and by her brother-in-law, Donald Colwell. Visiting will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, March 28th, 2005 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday, March 29th, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. MILLER, EFFIE MARIA Of Woodstock passed away at Carleton Manor on Sunday, March 27, 2005, at the age of 89. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; Effie was predeceased by her husband Horace Miller; her parents Ellsworth and Cora (Thornton) McIntyre; two brothers, Perry McIntyre Sr.; Alfred McIntyre and one sister Amy Gaffney. MacINTOSH, BEULAH Beulah MacIntosh nee Nicholson, aged 92 passed away on Friday, March 18, 2005 in Kamloops B.C. after a lengthy illness. She was born in Chatham N.B. on Oct. 9, 1912 and later moved to Bathurst N.B. with her family. She married Harold MacIntosh on Oct. 31,1936 in Bathurst. After her marriage she lived in Bathurst, Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa before moving to Kamloops in 1992 to be closer to her family. Her home and family were her main interests. She is survived by her husband Harold, a daughter Anne Andrews and husband Donald of Thunder Bay Ont. and a son David and wife Maria of Kamloops. Three grandchildren, Susan Carlisle and husband Frank of Barrie Ont., Jennifer Taylor and husband Kent and Andrew MacIntosh all of Kamloops and four great grandchildren, Meghan and Erin Carlisle and Allisa and Ashton Taylor. She is also survived by two brothers, John and Everett, and five sisters, Molly, Shirley, Betty, Dorothy and Nan. She was predeceased by her parents James and Jennie Nicholson, a grandson David Andrews, two brothers, Garnet and Albert, and two sisters, Jean and Marjorie. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service and burial will take place in Bathurst N.B. at a later date. CLOWATER, ANDREA "DREE" Andrea "Dree" Clowater, 24, died Friday (March 25, 2005), surrounded by her immediate family and fiancé, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Andrea had fought a short courageous battle with cancer. Born in Fredericton, on August 15, 1980, she was the daughter of Wayne and Colette (Bernier) Clowater. Besides her parents, of North Tetagouche, she is survived by her best friend and fiancé, Stephen Banks, of Port Hawkesbury, NS; one brother, Christopher Clowater of Fredericton, one sister, Kathryn Clowater of Fredericton; Paternal grandmother, Doris Clowater (Wilson) of Dallard des Ormeaux, Que. Maternal grandparents, Philippe and Alice (Roy) Bernier of Bathurst; Maternal great-grandmother, Catherine Roy of Bathurst. Many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Hudson Clowater. Andrea graduated in 2004 from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton and was a very caring and loving Registered Nurse (RN). A hard working student, she was on the Dean's list at graduation. She had worked at the Dr. Everett Chalmer's Hospital in Fredericton, and last fall she moved to Port Hawsbury, NS, where she was employed at the Strait Richmond Hospital. She was very active and was a Brownie, Girl Guide and in Pathfinder while growing up, member of the First United Church in Bathurst, counselor for Elmtree Youth Camp, student nurse at Camp Rotary, Grand Lake, member of the Bathurst Youth Singers, a proctor for Tibbits Residence at UNB, employee of the month and employee of the year while working at McDonald's in Bathurst, member of New Brunswick Nurses Association, member of Nova Scotia College of Registered Nurses and member of the Rotary Club in Port Hawsbury, NS. She enjoyed running, cross country skiing, hiking, camping, being with young children, painting, drawing and cooking. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A memorial Service will be held on Tuesday (March 29th, 2005) at 11:00 a.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst. YERS, VIOLET - At her residence on Sunday, March, 27th, 2005, in her 104th year; Violet (Morrison) Byers, of the Loch Lomond Villa, wife of the late Alton Byers. Born in Newcastle, England she is the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Jane (Jose) Morrison and the granddaughter of Lady Elizabeth MacDonald and Dr. William Morrison. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Violet was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Rothesay. She is survived by five of her six children: Lily Gilliland of Rothesay, Ransford (pre-deceased) Adelaide Drew (Donald) of Browns Flat, Chrissie Pike of Rothesay, Charles (Mary) of Belleisle Creek, and Skeena Forret of Quispamsis; 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Violet's family would like to take this opportunity to thank the nurses and caregivers of the Loch Lomond Villa, who treated her with such tender care and dignity through her last days. MARTINEZ, Margaret, After a courageous battle with Melanoma, Margaret passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2005 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 68. Survivors are her loving husband John Edmonds, daughters Irene (Greg) Qu isenberry and Teresa (Rip) Weachter, grandchildren Katie, Allie and John Weachter and soon to be born granddaughter Eve Quisenberry; all of Tampa, many nieces and nephews, especially John Jutras of Quebec, Deedee Appleby of Nova Scotia and Rose Lange ndorf of Quebec, sister-in-law Jacqueline MacKay of Mississauga and brother-in-law Pierre Jutras of Quebec. Preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Susan MacKay, her first husband Pedro Martinez, her brother Alfred "Bud" MacKay, sisters Ruth Elk ins and Berry Jutras. Margaret was born in Sutton, Quebec and raised in Cornwall , Ontario until she moved to Florida in 1962 and settled in Lakeland where she raised her family and pursued a career in real estate. Margaret was a 2002 magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Florida where she received a B.A. in Art History. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and was a volunteer docent at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, Florida. Margaret and John m et in Quebec City in 2002 and moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake in 2003 where Margaret became a member of the Shaw Guild, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Newcomer's Book Club and the St. Catharines Probus Club where she made many friends. OLSZEWSKI, Joseph, Passed peacefully, at 80 years of age, at home surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, March 25, 2005. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jennie of over 52 years, his children Annie, Eugene (Ski) and Chris, Steve and H eather. His grandchildren Mark and Kristin, Jonathon, Jasmine, Sarah and his great granddaughter Taylor. He was predeceased by his parents Jan and Anna Olszewski, one brother and a sister all in Poland. Joseph retired from General Motors as a cutter grinder in 1982 after 34 years of service. He also served in W.W.II and was a member of the Royal Canadian Polish Legion, Branch 418. Joseph is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy wil l be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 10 a.m. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. She was a former member of the Senior Citizens Club of Holyoke and a member of the Springfield Golden Age Club. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert J. Mineau who was Called Home on February 20, 1968 and her beloved sons, Albert J. Mineau, Jr., and Joseph A. Mineau. She leaves her loving daughter, Ann L. Grandchamp and her husband Valmore of Springfield with whom she lived. Her dear daughter-in-law, Holly Mineau of Tupper Lake, NY. BRADLEY and UPTON, Mass. - Pauline M. Shorette, 86, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 24, 2005, at a Milford, Mass. hospital. She was born Feb. 9, 1919, in Bradley, daughter of the late Rudolph and Pauline (Violette) Madore. Pauline was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bradley in which her husband's family had assisted in building. She worked for Viner Bros. Shoe Factory in Bangor for many years. Pauline enjoyed traveling especially visiting her family and friends back here in Maine. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her son, Dr. Rudolph Shorette and his wife, Kathryn, of Upton, Mass.; daughter-in-law, Janis Shorette of Mertztown, Pa.; grandson, Daniel Shorette of Uptown, Mass.; grandson, Mark Shorette and his wife, Amanda, of Mertztown, Pa.; three great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Brittany and Owen. Turmel, Vadabell A. -- Linwood, Michigan Mrs. Turmel, died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Bay Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness, age 70 years. She was born in Bay City on February 26, 1935 to the late Avon and Esther Morley, and has been a Linwood resident since 1959. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, gardening and most of all her grandchildren. She retired from Huron Woods Nursing Center, having worked in housekeeping for a number of years. She is survived by her husband, Frank and her two daughters, Jean Kielpinski & her fiance, Mark Courier of Standish and Linda (Andy) Gehringer of Linwood; also surviving are her grandchildren: Melissa (Chad) Dubay of Sterling, Jay Kielpinski & Trisha Gehringer of Linwood; great grandchildren, Brantt & Steven; her brother, Archie Morley also survives. LEWISTON - Lionel E. Pelletier, 82, of 950 Sabattus St., died Saturday, March 26, at Ste. Marguerite d'Youville Pavilion.He was born in Lewiston, March 4, 1923, the son of Polydore and Amanda Berube Pelletier. He was educated in Lewiston schools and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.He was married June 26, 1948 to Jeannette Gagnon.He was a hand sewer by trade and was employed at L.L. Bean for a few years then at Quoddy Moc for many years prior to his retirement in 1986.He was a member of Holy Family Parish and American Legion Post 22 of Lewiston.He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed helping others and was kind, caring, generous and compassionate. He enjoyed working around the home he was born in, especially working in his backyard. Most importantly, he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and attending their sports events. He will be sadly missed by everyone he touched in his lifetime, however his memories will be held close in our hearts.He is survived by his wife of Lewiston; a daughter, Joline Gagne and her husband, Maurice, of Lewiston; two sons, Roland of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Richard "J.R." and his wife, Brenda, of Sabattus; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Gagne of Lewiston, Amy Gagne of Beverly, Mass., Audrey and Tyler Pelletier of Sabattus; three sisters, Sister Irene Pelletier of Waterville, Anita Fillion and her husband, Phil, of Longbeach, Calif., and Muriel Bernier and her husband, Lionel, of Sabattus; and many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by three brothers, Lucien, Omer and Gerard; and a sister, Laurette Pelletier.

LAKE LINDEN - Vivian Gerard Racine, 84, of Lake Linden, passed away at Portage Hospital in Hancock on Saturday, March 26, 2005. He was born on March 26, 1921, a son of Albert and Melvina (Hout) Racine. He graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in 1939. He was a WW II veteran, having served in Africa and Italy. On May 18, 1946, he married Irene Simonen.He worked for Bonifas Sawmill, Dion Logging, Atlas Powder, Calumet and Hecla Mining, and as a carpenter. He then worked for UPPCO for 12 years until his retirement.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lanny; and brothers, Robert and Weldon.He is survived by his wife, Irene; sons, Wayne (Donna) Racine of Quinnesec, Grant (Joan) Racine of Cleburne, Texas, Terry (Brenda) Racine of Dollar Bay, and Scott (Heidi) Racine of Algoma, Wis.; a daughter, Wendy (Michael Pascoe) LaBelle of Lake Linden; 13 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine (Carl) Horsma, Gladys (Jim) Sarazin, Joyce (Paul) Schneller, Germaine (Bill) Jensen; sister-in-law, Marie Racine; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Vivian was a hard working, loving father.At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation and urn burial will be in the spring at Mt. NEWPORT - Michael Raymond Roussin, 50, died March 26, 2005, at a Pittsfield hospital following a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born June 18, 1954, at Milwaukee, Wis., a son of Raymond and Evelyn (Thompson) Roussin. He graduated from Nokomis Regional High, Class of 1973, and received an associate degree from Bangor Community College. Mike was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Newport, and was a lieutenant and dedicated member of the Newport Fire Department since June 1973. He will also be remembered as an avid hunter and for his active service with the Boy Scouts. He had been employed at Gilman Electric and most recently, Paris Farmers Union in Newport, retiring due to failing health. In addition to his mother, Evelyn Roussin, he is survived by a brother, Timothy and wife, Patricia Roussin, all of Newport; a sister, Gail Roussin of Lyman; a former sister-in-law, Luane Roussin; aunts, June Thompson of Auburn, Margie Barcus of Florida, and Pixie Roussin of South Carolina; several cousins, nieces and nephews, Alicia, Robert, Justin, Julia, and Benjamin; great-nieces, Alexis and Shaelyn; his dog, Jewells; and special friends, Frank Schoenthaler, Elizabeth Jones, Rick Turner and Greg Buckland. Michael J. Thibodeau, 52, beloved husband of Charline (Coombs) Thibodeau, of South Windsor died Friday, (March 25, 2005) at Manchester Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Hartford on January 8, 1953 son of Angelina (Beaulieu) Thibodeau of Willington and the late H. Claude Thibodeau. Mr. Thibodeau received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University and was a computer programmer at St. Paul Travelers Insurance Company, Hartford. Mike played on the volleyball and softball teams at work and also enjoyed sharing time with family, building models, reading, playing volleyball, softball, travel and the theater. Yvonne LeBlanc l'Acadie Nouvelle - 28 mars 2005 MEMRAMCOOK - À sa résidence, le vendredi 25 mars 2005, à l’âge de 84 ans, est décédée Yvonne LeBlanc, domiciliée au Foyer Saint-Thomas, mais autrefois de La Montain. Née à La Montain, elle était fille de feu Stanis Gaudet et de feu Eleonora Gaudet. Elle laisse dans le deuil six filles: Marie-Annette (Leonard) Boudreau de Memramcook, Cecile (Bernard) Belliveau de McGinley, Lucille (Florent) LeBlanc de Little Dover Rd, Lorraine (Omer) LeBlanc de Dieppe, Dorine (Gilbert) LeBlanc de La Montain et Murielle (Charles) Cormier de La Montain; deux fils: Lomer (Carmella) LeBlanc et Guy (Geraldine) LeBlanc, tous deux de La Montain; deux soeurs: Sr Lorraine Gaudet, ndsc, de Moncton et Antoinette (feu Camille) Gaudet de Toronto, ainsi que 17 petits-enfants, dix arrière-petits-enfants et plusieurs neveux et nièces. Son époux, Treffle LeBlanc (1979); un petit-fils, Bobby, ainsi que deux frères: Thomas et Paul-Emile, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée à la Maison funéraire Dupuis. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Thomas de Memramcook, Saint-Joseph, le mardi 29 mars, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Born in La Montain, she was the daughter of the late Stanis Gaudet and the late Eleonora Gaudet. She is survived by six daughters, Marie-Annette (Leonard) Boudreau of Memramcook, Cecile (Bernard) Belliveau of McGinley, Lucille (Florent) LeBlanc of Little Dover Rd, Lorraine (Omer) LeBlanc of Dieppe, Dorine (Gilbert) LeBlanc of La Montain, and Murielle (Charles) Cormier of La Montain; two sons, Lomer (Carmella) LeBlanc and Guy (Geraldine) LeBlanc both of La Montain; two sisters, Sr. Lorraine Gaudet n.d.s.c. of Moncton and Antoinette (late Camille) Gaudet of Toronto; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Treffle LeBlanc (1979); one grandchild, Bobby; and two brothers, Thomas and Paul-Emile. Resting at Dupuis Funeral Home with visitation on Monday, March 28 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday March 29 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Stella Chiasson (1921-2005) l'Acadie Nouvelle - 28 mars 2005 PETITE-RIVIÈRE-DE-L’ÎLE - À l’Hôpital de Tracadie, le vendredi 25 mars 2005, à l’âge de 83 ans, est décédée Stella Chiasson, épouse de feu Léo Chiasson, domiciliée à Petite-Rivière-de-l’Île. Née le 10 août 1921, elle était fille de feu Joyeux Paulin et de feu Florianne Duguay. Elle laisse dans le deuil cinq filles: Lucie de Petite-Lamèque, Liette (Gilles Plourde) de Petite-Rivière-de-l’Île, Adrienne (Johnny William) de Bathurst, Dina (Jean-Charles Chiasson) de Paquetville et Brigitte (Mario Chiasson) de Haut-Lamèque; trois fils: Alyre (Lise) de Laval, Qc, Yvon (Nancy) de Petite-Rivière-de-l’Île et Samuel (Justy) de Bathurst; une soeur, Adrianna (César Chiasson) de Petite-Lamèque; un frère, Denis Paulin (Hectorine) de Savoie Landing, ainsi que 19 petits-enfants. Deux fils: Égide et Florent; une soeur, Évangéline, ainsi qu’un frère, Auguste, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée à la Maison Bulger de Lamèque. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Sainte-Cécile de Petite-Rivière-de-l’Île, le lundi 28 mars, à 11h. Heures de visites: le lundi 28 mars, de 10h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. Loan Ngoc Truong l'Acadie Nouvelle - 28 mars 2005 - Est décédée accidentellement le 23 mars 2005, Loan Ngoc Truong, épouse du Dr Thanh Son Truong. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses deux enfants: sa fille, Truong Thanh Ngoc Phuong; son fils, Truong Thanh Truc et sa belle-fille, Do Cao Thuy-Vy, tous de Montréal; ses parents: M. et Mme Tran Van Luu de Montréal, ainsi que deux frères: Tran Phuoc-Loc (Colette) et Tran Phuoc-Liêm (Phuong) de Montréal. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée au Centre funéraire de Côte-des-Neige à Montréal et une cérémonie aura lieu le lundi 28 mars. Une messe commémorative sera célébrée en l’église Notre-Dame-des-Flots de Lamèque, le 4 avril, à 18h30. Il sera possible pour la population de déposer des messages personnels dans une corbeille qui sera remise à la famille. Les parents et un des frères du Dr Truong, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. Dr Truong pratiquait la médecine familiale à l’Hôpital de Lamèque depuis octobre 1995. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée au Centre funéraire de Côte-des-Neige à Montréal et une cérémonie aura lieu le lundi 28 mars. David Basque l'Acadie Nouvelle - 28 mars 2005 BIG RIVER - À l’Hôpital régional Chaleur de Bathurst, le jeudi 24 mars 2005, à l’âge de 58 ans, est décédé David Basque Jr., domicilié à Big River. Né à Bathurst, il était fils d’Edna (Vienneau) Basque et de feu David Basque Sr., de Bathurst. Outre sa mère, il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Bernice (Vienneau) Basque; trois fils: Donald (Sylvia), Derrick (Lynn) et Jonathan (Natalie), tous de Bathurst; une petite-fille, Samantha; trois frères: Reginald Basque (Yvonne) et Charles Basque (Beatrice), tous deux de Bathurst et Jean-Guy «John» Basque (Muriel) de Clifton; six soeurs: Jeannine Dumanski (Walter) de Sault-Sainte-Marie, Ont., Angela Basque, Claudia Basque (Robert) et Carmella Basque, toutes de Bathurst, Annette Legacy (David) de Moncton et Stella Basque (François) d’Ottawa, Ont., ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. M. Basque manquera beaucoup à sa famille et à ses nombreux amis qui conserveront toujours un précieux souvenir de lui. Il était propriétaire et exploitait sa propre compagnie de camionnage. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée à la Maison funéraire Elhatton de Bathurst (www.elhatton.com). Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, promenade Rough Waters à Bathurst, le lundi 28 mars, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial de l’avenue St. Mary’s.
