BOSCO, Nicola "Nick" - Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, after a brief illness, on Saturday March 26, 2005 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of 50 years to Maria "Mary" (Fatica) Bosco. Dearly loved father of Joanne Wintemute and Rick (April) Bosco of Niagara Falls. Cherished Nonno of Julianna and Laura Wintemute, Adam and Nicholas Bosco. Dear brother of Marietta Alberico and Antonio (Addolorata) Bosco of Toronto. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by his brother Arturo. Mr. Bosco was a veteran of World War II having served with the Italian Army in Sicily. He was a member of the Associazione Nazionale Combattenti E Reduci and a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church where he was also an active member of the Holy Name Society. CLIMENHAGA, Myrna Mann - 66, of Hendersonville, NC, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Ted and Sylvia Anslow Mann. She was also predeceased in death by a brother, Terry Mann. Myrna enjoyed every stage of her life, from being a devoted wife and mother to volunteering, teaching and business ownership. She was the owner and operator of a sporting goods store in Dayton, OH and managed "The Wooden Nail", a woodcraft store in Geneva, IL. She was an avid golfer with the Women's Golf League and the Valley Creek Golf League at Crooked Creek Golf Club. In each stage of her life, she introduced new and wonderful friendships and relationships. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Doug Climenhaga; two sons, Doug Climenhaga and his wife, Sheryl, of Sycamore, IL; and Dan Climenhaga of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, Chloe, Grace, Codi, and Heather Climenhaga; a sister, Beverly Barr and her husband, Ross; three nephews and one niece and their families. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2005 at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors in Hendersonville. KAY, Robert - Passed away suddenly in his sleep at Empress Gardens on March 28, 2005, just a few weeks after celebrating his 80th birthday. Beloved father of Carolyn and Jenniffer Kay. Proud grandfather of Sebastian Kay. Pre-deceased by the love of his life, Elva (nee Hodgson). Older brother to Bill Kay and wife Anna and Helen Dale and husband Dave. Robert was also very fond of his two nephews and his two nieces. As a young volunteer Robert fought in WWII in the British Navy. Following this, he emigrated to Canada where he trained as a teacher, rising to the position of Head of the Technical Department at Sir Oliver Mowat Collegiate in Scarborough. He loved Scotland, including the immortal Robbie Burns and the national sport of soccer, which he coached throughout his life. A history buff, he was fascinated by WWII and deeply admired Winston Churchill. Robert will be greatly missed by his two daughters and his grandson. A funeral service will be held at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough on Saturday, April 2nd at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. KAREN PATRICIA HAY The family and friends of Karen Patricia Hay are profoundly saddened to announce her sudden passing in the early morning of March 25, 2005. She was predeceased by her father, Dr. A.W.S. Hay of Brandon, Man. She leaves behind her mother and step-father, Millie and Dan McInnes of London; sister, Sylvia Wyse and brother-in-law, Alan Wyse, of St. George; sister, Cory McInnes-Clarke and brother-in-law, Will Clarke, of St. Catharines; and brothers, Bryan Hay of Fort Frances and Rob McInnes of Vaughan. Also surviving are her niece, Erynn Wyse, and nephews, Sean Wyse, Innes and Eli Clarke, Daniel and Nicolas McInnes, and Alexander Hay of London; her close friend, David Campbell; soulmates and kindred spirits, Martine Beland, Mary-Ann Reid, and Doug Paraschuk of Stratford; and special friend, Michael Ellesworth. She will be sadly missed by extended family members across Canada and the United States. K.P. spent 18 of her 42 years as head scenic artist at the Stratford Festival Theatre of Canada, where she touched the lives of thousands through her creativity, hard work, and passion for the theatre. Her friends and colleagues at the festival will miss her spirit, energy, and dedication. Her family and friends would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the ICU at both Stratford General and University Hospital for their heroic efforts and limitless compassion, in particular Dr. MacKenzie, whose strength and support was an inspiration to all. She leaves her sister-in-law, Catherine Olive Trombley and husband Charles, of Vermont, U.S.A., and their family, as well as her dear friend Dorothy Clouthier of Ottawa. She will also be sadly missed by many friends in Montreal, Ottawa and cities around the globe, who remember her for her optimism, enthusiasm, humour and grace. Margaret will be especially missed by all of her friends from the Catholic Women's League, where she was an active member for many years in both Ottawa and Montreal. In particular, Margaret served as the Montreal Diocesan President, as well as on Quebec and Ontario provincial councils and the national CWL committee. Margaret lived and worked in Montreal for most of her life and was employed with the Federal Business Development Bank of Canada in Montreal for almost 40 years. HANDFORD, Robert Lewis Bob passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at his home in Blind Bay, BC at the age of 67. Raised in Renfrew, Ontario, he was the son of the late Dr. Edward Young Handford. Bob was a loving husband to his wife of 42 years, Mary Jane, a father and friend to his four children Andrew, Martha, Laura and Matthew, and their spouses Moira-Ann, Jared, Sean (predeceased) and Bobbi, and a mischievous, fun-loving Grampa to his five grandchildren, Emily, Cameron, Luisa, Joshua and Aaron. Bob is also survived by brothers Edward of Griffith, Ontario and James of Renfrew, Ontario. Bob was a proud Queen's University alumnus who found great joy in watching his four children continue the Queen's tradition. Bob and Mary were teachers in the Peterborough school system before retiring to the West Coast to be closer to their children. As a teacher, school counselor and hockey and football coach, Bob positively touched the lives of many hundreds of students and helped them find their way in life. Bob always believed that family came first and built a solid foundation of love and support on which his family will continue to grow. He will be greatly missed for his wonderful sense of humour, his love for the outdoors, and his tremendous strength of character. Born March 31, 1931, in Sudbury, Ont., she was the only child of the late George and Goldie (Steadman) Madill (South Uniacke). She is survived by daughters, Jill Joanne Pangborne, Barrie, Ont.; Shawn Maureen Mole, Calgary; Kelley Kathleen Murphy, Halifax; grandchildren, Lucie and Daniel, Calgary. She was a member of the Writer's Federation of Nova Scotia, Schizophrenia Society, Legion Branch 165 and St. Paul's United Church in Mount Uniacke. Shirley's secretarial career spanned many years. Throughout her lifetime, she overcame many hardships both mental and physical. In recent years she found contentment living in Parkview Manor, Mount Uniacke, where she enjoyed her card games, friends and neighbours. Sam, aged 71, passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2005. Sam sustained an injury while playing his favorite sport, hockey, with his team, the Shearwater Ancient Mariners. Born in DeWolfe, N.B., he was a son of the late George and Vivian (Hatt) Johnston. He was the beloved husband of 50 years of Frances (Theriault); loving father of Gerlyn (Murray) Rodgers, Ottawa; Dale (Valerie) Johnston, Ottawa; Kim (Rick) Johnston, Whitby, Ont., and Michael (Carolyn) Johnston, Dartmouth. He was lovingly called "Papa Sam" by grandchildren, Greg, Katie, Angela, Samantha, Stephanie and Carly. He is survived by several brothers, sisters, and their families (Albert, Kenneth, Florence, Earl, Gerald, Raymond, Clarence, Hazen, Sharon, Roger, and the late Marvin, Gordon, Shirley, and Willis); in-laws, Father Eric Theriault, Sister Patricia Theriault (Sister of Charity) and Edie (Al) Comeau. Sam served in the Canadian Armed Forces after 31 years of service and he was later employed by IMP. He was an avid sports fan, who loved playing hockey with his most caring team mates, The Shearwater Ancient Mariners, who were together for many years, and playing bridge and cribbage with his card buddies. Sam was very actively involved in his parish church, St. Vincent de Paul. He will be truly missed by his family and many friends. He continued his love of planes and worked for 40 years as an instrument and electrical technician with several maritime airlines, retiring in 1984. As a lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Vivian Elaine Rossiter 1944 - 2005 ALMA, NB - Vivian Elaine Rossiter, 60, of Alma passed away on March 26, 2005 after a very courageous battle with cancer at The Moncton Hospital with her loving family by her side. Vivian was born in Hillsborough on June 16, 1944 the daughter of Georgia (O'Connor) Tower and the late Vernon "Bun" Tower. Vivian was the type of person who loved life and she was always up for a challenge. She loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. One of Vivian's favorite hobbies was oil painting. Most of all she loved times spent with her family. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She truly was excited every time her grandchildren came through the door; her face would light up as she looked forward to playing and just spending time with them. She treasured all of her family and extended family, always being there for everyone when needed. She was a very special lady who will never be forgotten and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Born in Armstrong's Corner NB on May 29, 1906, Austin was the son of the late George Armstrong and Eliza Corbett and the beloved husband of the late Orie M. (Allingham) Armstrong who passed away in 1998. Austin is survived by his daughter, Marion Patterson of Hampton, two sons, Harold and his wife Beatrice of Roachville, Winston and his wife Jessie of Newtown, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Austin was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Austin was predeceased by six sisters; Zerelda, Elvira, Winnifred, Kathleen, Helen and Thelma, and by his son-in-law, Albert Patterson Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-4331176), with visitation on Monday 7-9, Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 11:00 am.
