CHENAIL, Denise 1952-2005 À Ste-Clotilde, ce 27 mars 2005, Denise Chenail s'est éteinte doucement, en laissant dans une grande tristesse ceux qu'elle aimait: son conjoint Robert Bastien, ses deux fils Denis (Michelle) et Gerry (Emilie), ses deux petites-filles Marie-Pier et Audrey-Ann, ses frères et soeurs Lucien, Lucienna, David, Marcel, Monique, Rita, Real, André, Thérèse, Normand, François et Diane, ainsi que plusieurs neneux, nièces, parents et amis. Ses funérailles seront célébrées le jeudi 31 mars 2005, à 14 heures, en l'église paroissiale de Ste-Clotilde. La famille y sera présente à compter de midi. SOMERSWORTH — Leo J. Albert, 82, of 21 Grand St., died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Wentworth–Douglass Hospital, Dover, after a period of declining health. Born in Pelletier Mills, N.B., Canada, on May 22, 1922, he was the sonof Arthur and Celina (Bouchard) Albert. At an early age he and his familymoved to Sanford, Maine, and eventually to Lewiston, Maine, where he attended school.He eventually moved to Somersworth, where he spent most of his adult life. Mr. Albert was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy as a gunner’s mate on the USS Tetonkaha.Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as an electrical foreman with Davidson Rubber Company with over 20 years of service.Proud of his military service, he had been a longtime member of theAmerican Legion Post 69 of Somersworth.Mr. Albert had a variety of interests; he loved sports and was a close follower of the New England Patriots. He loved the outdoors and in his earlier days enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. One of his fond interests was to drive, and when his health prevented that and he had to resign himself to a wheelchair he could be seen around Somersworth on his motorized chair. At times he would leave his Grand Street home and head down to Wal-Mart. He was always seen at the high school baseball practices. Last summer he had the opportunity to umpire a practice ses-sion behind second base in his wheelchair.He always had a positive outlook through life. He will be truly missed byhis children, grandchildren and friends.Family members include his son Ricky Albert and his wife, Donna, of Rochester; two daughters, Linda Buchanan and her husband, James, of Bulverde, Texas, and Brenda Lapoint and her husband, Daniel, of Dur-ham, Maine. He leaves his grandchildren, Michelle, Amy, Erin, Brandon, Celina and Katie. He leaves one sister, Arlene Lambert of Dover.He was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond, Robert and Romeo Albert, a sister, Regina, and by his son, Stephen Albert, who died in 1975.Calling hours at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St., Somersworth, will be on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 4 p.m. followed by American Legion services conducted by Post 69 of Somersworth. Donald Paul Bordelon, born Jan. 19, 1949, in Baton Rouge, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest at home on Saturday, March 26, 2005, in Dallas. A wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and team leader, Don loved life and was a joy and an inspiration to us all. He had successfully battled colon cancer since August 2004. His doctors in Dallas and in Houston at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center called him their poster boy! His attitude and perseverance through chemotherapy was a role model for others. He is survived by his "beautiful bride," Carol Calkins of Dallas; daughter, Jennifer Jean Bordelon of Austin, Texas; sons, Joseph "Paul" Bordelon of Dallas and Brian Alan Bordelon of Dallas and Norman, Okla.; brother, Ronald Paul Bordelon and his wife Meg of Dallas; in-laws, Harold and Jean Calkins of Baton Rouge; brothers-in-law, Bill and his wife Cheryl Calkins of Baton Rouge, Ron and his wife Kelly Calkins of Little Rock, Ark., Scott and his wife Debbie Calkins of Baton Rouge; sister-in-law, Karen and her husband Ken Link of Phoenix; nieces, Erin and her husband Ryan Falterman of Geismar and Jeanne and her husband Jeff Laceky of Dallas; nephew David and his wife Maureen Bordelon of Dallas; and nieces and nephews, Kyle, Steven, Zoe, Robby, Elizabeth Carol, Maia, Liam, Chase, Emileigh, Zane, Sam, Margaret, Gregory, Danielle and Jonathon. These children were the apples of his eye! He loved driving them around on the "Beast," his boat at Cedar Creek. Don is also survived by his aunts, Lilly Wafer and Barton Reinberg; and cousins, Jimmy, Betty Jo, Butch, Gail, Jack, Janet, David, Barry, Bruce, Gailen, Susan, June, Kenneth, Wendy, Sandra, Scott, Pat, Jane, Katherine, Jenny Lynn, Mary Ann, Bobby, Katherine and Jerry. Don also is survived by the Williams family, Polly and her husband Jim Slocum, Martha and her husband Jerry Carpenter, C.W. and his wife Gay Williams, Tommy and his wife Barbara, Auntie and Carl Cunningham and Kim and Kelly. Don graduated from Baton Rouge High School, Class of 1967, and from LSU Ourso College of Business, Class of 1971. Don and Carol met in an accounting class at LSU. Don, a veteran, served as first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Don worked in the banking industry his entire career, including Bossier Bank and Trust, Brookhollow National Bank, First National Bank of Dallas, Northpark Bank, First National Bank of Richardson, AMERSCO, both in Dallas and Providence, R.I., and most recently, Beal Bank Services Corp. Don loved this industry and loved his job at Beal Bank. Don was an avid golfer, an LSU Tiger fan who loved his Tigers, photographer, stamp collector and fisherman. Don loved his time in Providence/Jamestown, R.I., where he found his love for the water, sitting at Beavertail Lighthouse. In Texas, he was most at peace sitting on his dock at Cedar Creek Lake. In September, Don co-chaired the TACA Family Festival, a wonderful event for children and families. CHAMBERLAIN, BROTHER GILBERT O., SC. (Brother Luke Albert), age 94, of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Provincial House, Pascoag, RI, died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at Mt. St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland, RI. Born in Berlin, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Alphonse Chamberlain and Angeline (Mercier) Chamberlain. Brother Gilbert graduated from the Commercial College of Victoriaville, Quebec, in 1928. After working in the Ford Motor Company plant in Detroit, Michigan, he entered the Brothers of the Sacred Heart at Arthabaska, Quebec, Canada, in 1935, pronouncing his first vows there in 1937 and his final vows at Victoriaville, Quebec in 1943.Brother Gilbert completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Montreal in 1944 and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Montreal in 1945. He earned a Master of Arts in the Teaching of Social Studies at St. Michael's College, Colchester, Vermont, in 1962. He also undertook graduate studies in finance and building maintenance. Brother Gilbert participated in the Spiritual Renewal Session at the Generalate of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy, in 1953-1954.Due to illness, he retired in January, 2005.Brother Gilbert is survived by several nieces in California and Florida.The Funeral Services will be held at the Provincial House, 685 Steere Farm Road, Pascoag, RI, Wednesday, March 30, 2005. The Wake is from 3-4 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Chapel of the Provincial House at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Brother's Cemetery in Pascoag. HAYES, Robert T., October 31, 1917 - March 23, 2005, of Orillia, died in Tucson, Arizona, from complications of living life to the fullest. Bob is survived by his wife Enid of 62 years; five daughters: Emme (Gord) Burnet of Port Perry, Adrienne (Bob ) Davies and Pixie (Darin) Burns of Orillia, Merry O'Neill of Burlington and Louise Hayes (Pete Medig) of Jasper, AB; two sons: Charlie (Margaret) Hayes of St. Catharines and John (Leslie) Hayes of Toronto and son-in-law Bill Hewitt of Toronto. Bob w as predeceased by his daughter Diane Hewitt of Toronto. Bob is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Bob will be remembered by the education community in St. Catharines and the province of Ontario as a tremendous innovator, an educational entrepreneur. There are two major innovations that have had a great effect on Ontario high school programs since 1970. First and foremost, when he was Principal, Merritton High School was one of two schools in Ontario to pilot the current credit system. Secondly, as the founding Principal of Governor Simcoe Secondary School, Bob pioneered the semester system as one of two Ontario schools to pilot the program. Bob also felt that students would learn better in unphased or open courses. He was a strong advocate for special needs students, gifted education and the French immersion program. When he retired in 1978, Bob moved to Orillia where he enjoyed gardening at his home, golfing with his friends at Couchiching, playing cards and pool at the Legion and all the social stuff at the Golden K, where he is a past president and regional governor. Bob and Enid loved to travel and have enjoyed winter golf in Tucson for the past 12 years. Bob Hayes was a well respected and beloved mem ber of the community. He lived life right to the end. He was coherent and intelligent with visitors in his home up to an hour before he died. There will be a memorial service in Orillia later on in April. SCHENECTADY, NY -- Irvin T. Bud Blanchard died Easter Sunday morning, March 27, 2005 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady. Bud was born on Christmas Day 1921 in Watervliet, N.Y. He was the son of Elsie Schmidt and Irvin T. Blanchard. A proud 1939 graduate of Watervliet High School, he joined the Apprentice Program at GE. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944 and served during World War II on the USS Bosque. Upon leaving the Navy, he went on to get his bachelor's degree at RPI, graduated in 1949. He retired from GE in 1983 after 42 years of service as a mechanical engineer. Bud was a member of many organizations including Toastmasters, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Elfin Society, the Masons, the Shriners, the Helderburg Twirlers, the Happy Hearts Club and both the Scotia and Glenville Rotary. He was a communicant of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and a past Vestry member. His first wife, Helen E. Turner Blanchard died in 1962. His second wife, C. Beverly Blanchard died in 2004. His sister, Helena O'Fee died in 1998. He is survived by his three daughters, Barbara Blanchard and her husband Art Edelstein of Schenectady, Candace Fiet and her husband Jeff of Scotia and Pamela Brown and her husband Michael of Rotterdam; three stepchildren, Michelle Abare Sossei and her husband John of Londonderry, N.H., Edward J. Abare III and his wife Mary of Vero Beach, Fla. and Lori Abare Carmer and her husband Brian of Saratoga. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and eleven nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, March 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church, The Plaza, Schenectady, N.Y. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, N.Y. Interment will be at Park View Cemetery in Schenectady. Prince and her husband Gary of Douglas; a brother, Wilfred Comeau of Spencer and a sister, Edna Dente of Worcester; two stepsons, Thomas Fisher of South Dakota and Daniel Fisher of Bridgewater; two stepdaughters, Rose Justice of Florida, and Margaret Fisher of Waltham; eight grandchildren; many nephews and nieces, seven brothers and three sisters. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church and its choir, a former member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and a member of its choir. She was also a member of the Oxford Council on Aging. Lauzon, Isabelle G. -- Pinconning, Michigan -- Mrs. Lauzon, 90 years, passed away at her Son & Daughter-in-law's home on Easter morning, Sunday, March 27, 2005 with her family at her side. She was born in Scranton, PA on October 25, 1914 to the late Paul & Mary (Kedvesz) Duboy. She married Louis Lauzon on January 14, 1933. He preceded her in death on Easter Sunday March 30, 1975. She lived in Pinconning most of her life. She enjoyed her family, her flower gardens, crocheting, and dancing. She was able to dance with her sons and grandsons at her 90th birthday party. Isabelle was a member of St. Anne Church and was retired from Polymid in Linwood. She is survived by one daughter and four sons: Margaret Morris of Bay City, Robert (Bobby) & Ceil Ann Lauzon of Pinconning, David (Butch) & Betty Lauzon of Pinconning, Anthony (Skip) & Karen Lauzon of Las Vegas, Larry (Taco) & Veronica Lauzon of Pinconning; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Lauzon of Pinconning; 22 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Edwin H. Fortier, 79, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005. He was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Inglewood, Calif., and resided in Las Vegas for 48 years. Ed was a retired construction superintendant. He served with the 1st Division U.S. Marine Corps Infantry during World War II. Ed was a true hero to so many. He was a purple heart recipient. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and the Local Carpenters Union #1780 and was on the board of the Local Marine Association. Ed was a great outdoorsman who loved to travel and be with his family. He will be greatly missed by so many. His passing will create a huge void. Ed is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Dorris Fortier; son, Edwin Fortier of Central, Calif.; daughters, Marsha Fortier, Adelia Fortier, both of Central, Calif., Jeanne Bayless of Mt. Annette Campeau, 87, of Rutland, passed away on March 27, 2005, at Porter Hospital in Middlebury.She was born on November 10, 1917, in Ontario, Canada, daughter of Orphila and Rose-Anna (Quesnel) Leduc. She married Omer Campeau in Moose Creek, Ontario, in 1939, and they moved to Vermont in 1947. They lived in the Middlebury area until 1983, and then relocated to Florida. Her husband predeceased her in 1986, and Annette moved back to Vermont in 2002. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Middlebury.Mrs. Campeau is survived by one son, Allan and his wife Anita of Brandon; and one daughter, Estelle Chandler and her husband Allen of Spring Hill, Fla.; and a sister, ReJean Campeau of Ontario, Canada. Phyllis M. Regis -- February 2, 1912 - March 27, 2005 -- DAYVILLE - Phyllis M. Regis, 93, of Upper Maple St., died on Sunday at the Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts. She was the wife of the late Lucien H. Regis, who died on September 29, 1992. They were married on April 11, 1932 at St. Joseph Church in Dayville. Mrs. Regis was born on February 2, 1912 in St. Roch, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Mitchell and Adele (Hebert) Piette. She attended school in Canada and at the age of seven, she moved with her family to Slatersville, RI. When she was a teenager, she moved with her family to Dayville, CT. After her marriage in 1932, she devoted herself to the raising and care of her family. When her children were grown, she worked as a seamstress in the local textile industry. She retired in 1972. Her main interest was her family and the care she provided to them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and greatgreat grandmother. She will be sadly missed. Mrs. Regis was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Dayville, and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society. She leaves three sons, Richard R. Regis and his wife, Naomi of Brooklyn, Raymond L. Regis and his wife, Carol of Dayville and Robert A. Regis and his wife, Patricia of Brooklyn; three daughters, Lorraine R. Breault of Dayville, Annette R. Crowe and her husband, Howard of Valencia, PA, and Nancy E. Lohbusch and her husband Rudolph of S. Killingly; fourteen grandchildren; eleven greatgrandchildren; and a greatgreat -grand daughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Elaine Regis; five brothers, Lucien, Mitchell, Louis, William and Alfred Piette; and two sisters, Alice Fortin and Simone Gibeault. He graduated from St. Anthony's High School in Beaumont in 1940 and proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Frank was a purchasing agent and sales representative for several supply companies throughout his career. He was a past President of the Southeast Texas Purchasing Agents Association, the Beaumont Bowling Association and a member of Crime Stoppers. He also volunteered as an umpire for little league baseball and later umpired softball for the City of Beaumont. He loved to play golf, bowl and fish. He was a member of St. Anthony's Cathedral. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Edna Drake Robichau; three sons, Frank J. Robichau, Jr. of Suisun City, California, Thomas E. Robichau of O'Fallon, Illinois and Charles Roger Robichau of Houston; two daughters and son-in-laws, Judy and Tom Dunn and Mary Kathryn and Jimmy Allen of San Antonio; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and John Neil of Beaumont; brother-in-law, Franklin Williamson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Hewitt P. Robichau, Sr.; three brothers, Hewitt P. Robichau, Jr., Joseph O. Robichau and infant James Robichau; and three sisters, Juanita Williamson, Barbara Hogan and Imogene Robichau. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Cathedral with Reverend George Kalappura, C.M.I. officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. Marie (Saucier) Fournier, 86, of Anne Rd., Plantsville section, died Sunday, (March 27, 2005) at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Roland Fournier. Born on May 7, 1918, in St. Agatha, ME, the daughter of the late Donald and Anne (Marquis) Saucier. She had resided in Southington for 50 years. BRATTLEBORO — Marvin Floyd "Mike" Trombley, 84, of Carriage Hill Road, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland, N.H., where he had been a resident since May 2000.Mr. Trombley was born May 29, 1920, in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., the son of Louis and Vergia (Benjamin) Trombley.He was raised and educated in Ellenburg Depot and Malone, N.Y., where he was an outstanding athlete in many sports and excelled in cross-country running, track, boxing and wrestling. He participated in sports for many years and was active playing softball, in his seventies. He also played on the Brattleboro Recreation Department basketball teams for many years, competed in area horse shoe pitching tournaments and was avid bowler. He boxed professionally in Brattleboro in 1939 and during the early 1940’s.An ardent outdoorsman he enjoyed and loved hunting and fishing, especially with his sons and grandchildren.He served his country in the U.S. Army from Jan 8, 1945 until his honorable discharge from active service Oct. 27, 1946, with the Philippine Liberation and Army Occupation of Japan.Mr. Trombley had been employed by H. Margolin Company, American Optical and several other local businesses.He worked as a welder at Isaacson's Shipyard in Seattle and owned and operated his own welding shop on Flat Street in Brattleboro before becoming a member of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union Local 104, from which he retired in 1987. He worked on construction as a pipe fitter/supervisor throughout New England and New Brunswick, Canada and spent four years in Louisiana. He was an extremely hard working individual with strong work ethics.Mr. Trombley was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Brattleboro Aerie No. 2445, where he served as secretary; held membership in American Legion Brattleboro Post 5, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Carl M. Dessaint Post 1034; and was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Brattleboro.On Nov. 11, 1939, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, he was married to Nina Evelyn McCoy, who survives.Besides his wife of 65 years, he leaves three sons, Michael L. Trombley and Patrick A. Trombley, both of Brattleboro and James A. Trombley of Boca Raton, Fla.; one brother, Claude A. Trombley of Orlando, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was predeceased by one son, Major David L. Trombley in 2002; and two brothers, Maynard P. Trombley and Francis Trombley.The Liturgy of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Walnut Street.
