Much loved father of Don and his wife Marge of Arnprior, Peter of Morinville, Alberta, Colleen and her husband Greg Whitehead of Midland, James and his wife Mary of Edmonton. HUBER, Margo Margo Huber, 82 devoted mother to Heather Norian and Melodie Belusa died suddenly in hospital on March 19, 2005. After a serious fall, she fought courageously but died peacefully in her sleep nine weeks later. She will be missed by her precious grandsons Ricky and Kevin, sons-in-law Vic and Fred and dear friends. Her last position at the Department of National Defense was Administrative Assistant. BARBE, Christopher James In loving memory of Christopher James Barbe, 34 years, of Capreol, who passed away Thursday, March 24th, 2005 at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto. A life resident of Capreol, Christopher had been a work equipment operator at CNR for the past 13 years. In his younger days he played hockey, baseball and tennis. Presently he was an avid golfer, fisherman and curler. He enjoyed playing cards with his buddies. He was a keen hockey and football fan. He will be remembered as a selfless and easy going person who had a great dry wit which could always find the humour in a situation. He was happiest when spending time with his loving family and many friends. Even in the tragedy of his death, the light of his life will shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him. HUSSON, William Clarence In loving memory of William Clarence Husson, 86 years, Wednesday afternoon, March 23, 2005 at the Extendicare Falconbridge. Beloved husband of Mina Downie Husson of Garson. Loving step father of Bill Downie (wife Verna) of Garson. Dear step grandfather of Tracey and Jody, and great grandchildren Natashia, Kurtis and Kristen. Sadly missed by family in Denver. Born in Creighton, he worked at INCO, then served with the Canadian Navy for 5 years during World War II. William was an electrical contractor in Denver for 50 years, returning to Sudbury in 1994. Donald E. Achard -- March 21, 2005, Ballston Lake, NY, died peacefully at the home of his daughter Gina. Born November 24, 1929 in Buffalo, NY he was the only child of the late Emil and Marie Regan Achard. He was the husband of the late Jean W. Achard who died March 3, 1997. Don served his country in the US Army during the Korena War. Don and Jean lived in Elma, NY for 37 years. He was past member of the Elma Volunteer Fire Co. He retired as Operations Manager from ABF Freight Systems, Inc. in Buffalo, NY in 1993 and he and Jean moved to Sun City Center, FL. He was a past member of the Sun City Center Security Patrol. After Jeans's death he moved to Little Manatee Springs in Wimauma, FL. He is survived by his two children Gina (Tim) Downey of Ballston Lake, NY and Richard of Ohio (Jill of Wales Center, NY). He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Brian, Jason, and Megan Downey, Scott and Justin Achard. A private graveside service will be held at the Elma Cemetery at a later date. TILTON -- Alfred R. Belair, 81, of 9 Academy St. in Tilton died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at his home, surrounded by his family following a long illness. He was born in Northfield, April 10, 1923 son of Victor J. and Ida M. (Graveson) Belair. Alfred had been a lifetime resident of Tilton and attended Tilton School. He and his brother James opened, owned and operated the former Belair’s Market in downtown Tilton during the 1960s. He later was employed with the Franklin Wholesale Meat Company as a salesman and meat cutter. Prior to his retirement, Alfred worked in the maintenance department at Tilton School. He enjoyed flying, often piloting his plane out of the former Franklin Airfield to destinations across the northeast, often with his great friend and brother in law, Earl Chandler of Franklin. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren: Dawn and Garrett Belair and Alyssa and Matthew Garcia. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp, 526th Fighter Squadron during World War II, earning the rank of staff sergeant. He was a qualified gunner but his military occupational specialty was as a radio operator and radio mechanic. Often he had to make his own equipment. His battles and campaigns were fought in Africa, Italy, Corsica, France and Germany. He was the recipient of several, medals, ribbons and badges. He was honorably discharged in December of 1945. He was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Tilton.His family includes his wife of 54 years, Helen M. (Turchin) Belair of Tilton; his daughter, Patricia A. Noel J. Cayer, age 78, of Bridgeport, passed into eternal peace on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Hewitt Memorial Hospital after a brave battle with cancer. Noel was born on December 24, 1926, in Saint Come of Beauce, P. Quebec, Canada. He was the son of the late Eugene Cayer and Valerie Poulin Cayer. He was the devoted husband of the late Rolande Binette Cayer from Lewiston, Maine. Noel was the beloved father of Paul of Torrington, Maurice "MoT of Shelton, Bernice and her husband, David, Russo of Bridgeport, and Valerie and her husband, Richard, Whelan of Tupper Lake, N.Y. Noel was the dear brother of Sister Catherine Cayer, PFM, of Baie Saint Paul, Quebec, Canada, Gerard and his wife Jacqueline of Shelton, Berangere "BeebeT Selepec of Shelton, and Therese and her husband John Peterson of Shelton. He was predeceased by his sister, Sister Monique Cayer, PFM; and his brothers, Luke, Jules, and Jean-Marie. Noel is survived by his 11 grandchildren, who loved him dearly, and many wonderful and caring nephews and nieces. Noel, a proud French-Canadian, served in the Canadian Army during World War II. After the war, he moved to Connecticut with his wife and became a skilled and hard-working carpenter, who participated, along with his brothers, in building hundreds of homes in Shelton and adjoining towns, over the last half century. He was a longtime resident of Shelton. He was a member of the building committee of the original St. Lawrence Church in Huntington, in the 1950s. Over the last several years he resided at the Washington Heights Apartments of Bridgeport where he had many caring friends. Everyone always enjoyed his unique and bountiful sense of humor and compassion for others. He had a passion for food and people. Clearly, Noel will be fondly remembered by all of his family and friends whose lives he enriched. Jack Coutu, 51, was born in Rhode Island and was a resident of Narragansett, RI most of his life, and winter resident of Ft. Myers since 1999 where he passed away March 11, 2005.A carpenter by trade, Jack, a large man with an infectious jovial smile, was the embodiment of all that is good, kind, generous, and giving of nature. He taught us all what true wealth is about,...family, and friendships. He was an avid sportsman and athlete. His courage, optimism, and determination to live his life to the fullest, during his four year battle with brain cancer, touched the lives of many. He was a resident of Coventry for 40 years.Mr. Dupuis was a heating plant engineer at the former Ladd School for 26 years before retiring in 1989. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion, Hope Valley Post and a life member of the AmVets.Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Mary Dupuis of Scituate, two sons, George Dupuis of Coventry, Eugene Benoit of Wakefield, three sisters Jeannette LaCroix and Margaret Cordeiro both in Florida and Helen Correia of West Warwick and a granddaughter, Cynthia Benoit. He was the brother of the late Yvonne Ring and Lionel Dupuis.His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m. from the HENAULT - GALLLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick. Keeseville — Aletha M. Wemette, 80, of Prospect Road, Keeseville, N.Y., passed away Friday, March 25, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Black Brook, N.Y., on April 16, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Esther (Edwards) Fountain.Aletha had worked as a machine operator at Arpak Plastics in Plattsburgh, N.Y. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family. Aletha was a member of the Catholic Community of Keeseville Churches.She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Esther (Edwards) Fountain; her brother, Oswald Fountain; her sisters, Elida Miller, Mildred Fountain and her twin sister, Leigh Fountain.She is survived by her children, Danny Wemette of Keeseville, Jerry Wemette and his wife Marianne of Keeseville and their children, Christine and Michelle, Tammy Smith and her husband Alan of Morrisonville and their children, Matthew and Cassandra, Terry Wemette and his wife Kelly of Binghamton, N.Y., and their children, Randy and Heidi; and several nieces and nephews.At Aletha's request, there will be no calling hours.A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, March 31, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville.Interment will be at a later date in the family plot in the Port Douglas Cemetery.Friends wishing may make donations to the charity of one’s choice.Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

LEOMINSTER— Carol Anne Garneau, 59, of 596 Lancaster Street, Leominster, MA died Thursday, March 24th at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Leominster, Massachusetts. She attended St. Cecilia's Elementary School and St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School. She was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in education from Annhurst College, and a Masters Degree in Psychology from Fairfield University. She taught both elementary and high school for many years. Most recently, she was employed as a teacher at the Dr. Franklin Perkins School in Lancaster, MA. She enjoyed music, reading, cross-stitch, and spending time with her cat, Bud. She was the beloved daughter of Norman and Rita (Brassard) Garneau, of Leominster. Besides her parents, she leaves loving siblings: Judith Garneau of Waterbury, CT, Barbara Garneau of Leomisnter, Norman Garneau, Jr. and his companion Gretchen Letteney of Fitchburg, Debbie Richard and her husband Ray, of Leominster, Beth Favini and her husband Rob of Fitchburg, John Garneau and his wife Nanci, of Pembroke, and Mary Carter and her husband Joseph Dzwilewski of Clinton. She was predeceased by a sister, Bernadette Marie. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, one grand nephew, several loving aunts and dear friends. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 28, from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West Street, Leominster, with a Mass at 12:00 noon in St. Cecilia Church, 168 Mechanic Street, Leominster. DRACUT -- Annette G. (Gaumont) LeMay, 73, a Dracut resident and a former Lowell business owner who had also been a local opera singer, died Monday, March 21, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of Leo L. LeMay.She was born in Lowell on June 3, 1931, a daughter of the late Leo D. and Bertha (Branchaud) Gaumont. She graduated high school in Lowell at Keith Hall and also graduated from Lowell Commercial College.Prior to her retirement, Mrs. LeMay was the owner of Lowell Ala Carte.She was a member of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Lowell. She was the former president and treasurer of the Ste. Therese School PTA, a member of the St. Anne's Sodality and was the vice president for the Seton Guild.She was also a member of the Dracut Friendship Luncheon Committee, the D'Youville Manor Ladies Guild, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. LeMay was also a volunteer at the former St. Joseph's Hospital in Lowell.She studied voice and piano with the late Antoinette Boudreau of Lowell and sang in various operettas as a colatora soprano. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines.In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth G. and Joyce LeMay of Goffstown, N.H., William LeMay and his companion Allison of Nantucket, Steven D. LeMay and his companion Judy of Windham, N.H., and Peter J. LeMay of Dracut; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth A. and Michael Anderson of Dracut; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry A. and Dorothy Gaumont of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jonathan LeMay of Goffstown, N.H., Ryan LeMay of Dracut, Jessica LeMay of Windham, N.H., Timothy, Katie, Christopher and Amanda Anderson, all of Dracut; a great-grandson, Christion LeMay of Dracut. She also leaves her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Robert and Rita LeMay of Dracut, Jeannette Asadorian, residing in Florida, Armand and Constance LeMay of Lowell, Paul and Shirley LeMay, residing in Tennessee, Therese and William Daniels, residing in North Carolina and Richard and Janet LeMay of Billerica; and several nieces and nephews. ROCHESTER — Francoise M.P. Landry, 89, of 13 Furber Street, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. She was born in Black Lake, P.Q., Canada, on April 30, 1915, the daughter of Thomas and Melina (Lessard) Harton. She had lived in Canada and Somersworth, prior to moving to Rochester in 1943. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, and a member of Ste. Anne Sodality.She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, whose work and joy was raising her family. She loved music, and was an accomplished pianist, playing by ear. She loved babies and children, and also enjoyed helping elderly people, often letting them stay in her home, and driving them around to help them with their errands. She was a kind-hearted and generous person, whose home was always open to anyone. Her beloved husband, Armand O. Landry, died in 2002.Surviving family members include her children and their spouses, Aline and Tom Goss of New Durham, Roger and Sandra Landry of Hudson, Rita and James Mavel of Manchester, Conn., and Raymond and Sally Landry of Dover Foxcroft, Maine; two sisters, Annette Valiquette and Juliette Deschenes, both of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Visitation at H.J. Cobb, Erma Jean -- Saginaw, MI Passed away unexpectedly early Friday, March 25, 2005 at Covenant – Cooper. Age 82 years. Erma Jean Jacques was born August 10, 1922 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. She attended Fort Wayne Bible Institute. She had been employed by Severance Tool and later was employed as a nurse’s aide at St. Mary’s Hospital and then Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital. She married Thaddieus McGee Cobb on December 23, 1944; he survives her. Mr. and Mrs. Cobb enjoyed camping and fishing. She served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the American Red Cross. She was an active member of Washington Ave. United Presbyterian Church and continued being an active church member when it later merged with Countryside Trinity Church. Erma will be greatly missed by her church family. Surviving besides her husband are three sons and one daughter, Richard (Lynn), John, and Tony Cobb, and Lisa (John) Princinsky. Another daughter Mary Vega predeceased her. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Todd, Samuel, Steven, Christopher, Sarah, David, John Jr., Jessica and Justin and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Jacques; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Lavina (Cox) Jacques, her father and step-mother, Arthur and Clara Jacques, and one sister Vivian Perry. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Countryside Trinity Church, 4690 Weiss Road. Rev. Robert Lakey will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday and then at the church from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. CLIFTON E. LaPLANTE -- BURLINGTON — Clifton E. LaPlante, 73, of Burlington passed away peacefully on March 24, 2005. Born in Swanton, Feb. 25, 1932, he was the son of Edward C. and Katie A. (Flintom) LaPlante. Cliff retired as a sergeant from the U.S. Army, Division 7. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received in action on Pork Chop Hill. Cliff was a very prominent figure in veterans' activities over the years. A member of the VFW Howard Plant Post 782 for over 50 years, he was the current Post Commander, a position he had held at various times for 15 years. He also held state and national VFW positions. In addition he was a member of the American Legion in Bristol, the RVA, the DAV, BPOE 916 and Eagles 793. Cliff is survived by his wife, Dulcie (Forde) LaPlante of Burlington; his stepsons and their wives, James and Gaetine Rea of Whitby, Ontario, and George and Adel Rea of Ajax, Ontario; two grandchildren, Stefanie and Christopher; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lucille (Bissonette) in 1986; and two brothers, Philip and Donald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. Interment will take place in Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Home, 85 N. Winooski Ave., Burlington.
