LAWRENCE -- Lillian G. (Cyr) Goguen, 72, died Saturday at Lawrence General Hospital. She was employed by many local shoe companies before her retirement. Born in Lawrence, Mrs. Goguen was a local area resident all of her life. The widow of Alfred M. Goguen, she leaves sons Alfred L. of Salisbury, and Lucien P. of Haverhill; daughters Carol Ann Beveridge and her husband Donald A. of Lawrence, and Lillian R. Marquis and her husband Roger L. of Methuen; sisters Edna C. McGregor of Lawrence and Alice A Boucher of Manchester; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours are tomorrow from 3 to 7 p.m. at Racicot Funeral Home, 256 Broadway, Lawrence. A funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 12 p.m. at St. Patrick Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

SOLDIER POND and FORT KENT - Richard John Daigle, 79, beloved husband for 57 years to Adrienne (Doustou) Daigle, died Feb. 5, 2005, at his residence in Fort Kent surrounded by his family. He was born March 4, 1925, in Soldier Pond, the son of Leo M. and Elizabeth (Brown) Daigle. Richard served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW Lozier O'Grady Post 9609, American Legion and the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 1934 both of Fort Kent. Richard will be remembered for his gentle ways and unusual laugh. Richard was a farmer and managed Birch Haven and then retired from Great Northern Paper. He is survived by his wife, Adrienne; and his five children, Rena Saucier and her husband, Glenn, of Eagle Lake, Michael Daigle and his wife, Vickie, of St. Francis, Mary Ann Bradeen and her husband, Michael of Hiram, Jenny Perreault and her husband, Kent, of Soldier Pond, Kathy Doak and her husband, Timothy, of Fort Kent; four brothers, Leo "Bud" Daigle of Boynton Beach, Fla., Bill Daigle and John Daigle, both of Fort Kent and Patrick Daigle of South Salem, N.Y.; three sisters, Doretta (Ted) Jalbert of Richmond Va., Marilyn Knoy of Tulsa, Okla., and Patricia Kuhns of Brunswick; his 14 grandchildren were very precious to him, Shelly Daigle, David, Michelle and Melissa Saucier, Kristie Taggett, Mitchell and Cody Daigle, Jamie, Danny and Amanda Bradeen, Jan and Jenna Perreault, Logan and Lauren Doak; three great-grandchildren, Brody and Vance Albert and Taylor Daigle, and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Franny Durepo, a niece for all the care she provided Richard during his final days. He was predeceased by a son, Carl; and a daughter, Carlene Daigle. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday and noon Tuesday, until the time of departure for Soldier Pond, at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial with full Military and 3rd degree Knights of Columbus Honors will be celebrated 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Soldier Pond with the Rev. Ronald George Dauphinais, 43 of Laurel Way, died at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital on Friday, (February 4, 2005) . He was the husband of Catherine (Curtiss) Dauphinais.Mr. Dauphinais was born Aug. 9, 1961 in Hartford, the son of Robert Dauphinais of East Hartford and the late Joan Linonis Dauphinais. He was a 1979 graduate of Northwestern Regional 7 High School in Winsted. He was a master wood worker for the Kingsford Co. in Norfolk for many years and was a member of the Norfolk Fire Department. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. Besides his wife and father, he is survived by his baby twins Parker Thomas Dauphinias and Lauren Theresa Dauphinais both of Norfolk; A brother, Larry Dauphinias of Torrington and a sister Jennifer Jokinen of Colorado. A mass of a Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 8, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church. The burial will follow at St. Mary's cemetery in Norfolk. FORT KENT - Rena (Guerette) Gagnon, 84, wife of the late Lawrence Gagnon, died Feb. 4, 2005, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility surrounded by her children. She was born July 17, 1920, in St. Agatha the daughter of Fortunant and Emma (Bourgoin) Guerette. She worked as a cook for SAD 27 Elementary School for 17 years, and also worked as a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne of Fort Kent, a member of RSVP. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence in 1982; her son, Bob Gagnon in 2002. She is survived by her three children, Barbara Perkins and her husband, Leighton, of Presque Isle, Lawrence Gene Gagnon and his wife, Claudette, of Glenburn, and Beulah "B" Follansbee and her husband, Mark, of Fairfield; and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Gagnon of Rockland; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday and 9 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. BRATTLEBORO — Theodore "Jerry" Houle, 77, a longtime resident of Brattleboro, died Feb. 5, 2005, at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.He was born on April 12, 1927, in Ashuelot, N.H., the son of Oliver and Ora (Roy) Houle.He was educated in Ashuelot and attended Thayer High School in Winchester.Mr. Houle married Della Pickering on May 4, 1946, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Putney.He was employed by the former Wirthmore Feed Co., Crosby Milling and Agway. He also worked for the town of Brattleboro as a driver for the town bus.Mr. Houle was active in Brattleboro youth sports, umpiring Little League baseball for 20 years. He was a member of the Elks Brattleboro Lodge No. 1499, and a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church.He enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding, watching softball in Brattleboro and he was a Boston Red Sox fan.Survivors include his wife of 58 years; three sons, Robert Houle of Brattleboro, Michael Houle of Phoenix, Ariz., and Stephen Houle of Bernardston, Mass.; a brother, Richard Houle of Brattleboro; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.Mr. Houle was predeceased by one sister, Jeannette Labreck; and a brother, Leonard Houle.The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Walnut Street.Burial will be in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery.Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home.Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Rescue Inc., P.O. LIMESTONE - Alfreda Marie Edgecomb, 83, wife of the late Horace A. Edgecomb died peacefully Feb. 4, 2005, at her Limestone residence following a long illness. She was born July 13, 1921, in St. Andre N.B. Canada the daughter of Simon and Cecila (Michaud) Mazerolle. She was educated in the Limestone schools. She married Horace Almon Edgecomb on April 15, 1939, and they were married for over 52 years until his death July 8, 1991. Bea enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting beautiful afghans, socks, mittens and sweaters for her family. She did the Bangor Daily crosswords faithfully. When she was well, Ms. Edgecomb enjoyed growing beautiful flowers, especially carnations. She enjoyed lovely jewelry, looking her best, dancing and family gatherings. Bea was devoted to children, animals, and loved telling a good story. She supported her husband, a life long potato and dairy farmer. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; Bernard and Norma Edgecomb of Hooksett, N.H., John and Patricia Edgecomb and Gerald and Leona Michaud all of Limestone; four daughters, Constance Edgecomb of Nashua N.H., Winnifred Edgecomb, Barbara Thompson and Patsy Masse all of Limestone; siblings, Claire Libby of Scarborough, Rose Marie Mazerolle of Wallingford, Conn., Cecile Gallop of Bethlehem, Conn., Lawrence Mazerolle of New York, Emile Mazerolle of Westbrook, Camille Mazerolle of New Mexico, Alfred Mazerolle of Dewey, Ariz., Albert Mazerolle of Spain, Leo Mazerolle of Salem, N.Y., and Janet Michaud of Hamlin; 12 grandchildren, Danny and Garrett Michaud, Dennis and Paul Vassak, Sherry Plateroti, Chris Cowan, Chris Edgecomb, Celine Racicot, Will Edgecomb, Sean and William Ward and Lance Masse. 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. BILLERICA -- Ryan A. Beaudet, 18, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 5, in Billerica., He was born in Concord on May 13, 1986, son of Claude A. and Judy K. (Bush) Beaudet of Billerica. He lived in Billerica all of his life and graduated from the Billerica Memorial High School in 2004, where he ran cross-country and indoor track. He most recently attended Ben Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston.Mr. Beaudet played youth soccer, basketball and baseball.Besides his parents, his survivors include a brother, Nicholas J. McLEOD, Morvil Hugh "Mac" R.C.E.M.E. (Ret.) Peacefully following a brief illness at the Ottawa Hospital on Sunday, February 5, 2005, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of 59 years to the late Maisie. Loving father of Bob and the late Christopher (Kit). Dear father-in-law of Claudine, who was his best friend and did so much for him. Adored grandpa to Scott, who was such a source of joy to him. Survived by his sister Frances Tyner. Predeceased by his brothers Neil, Barton, and Alex, his sister Marion, and his parents Lily (nee Cameron) and Alexander. He retired from the Canadian Army in 1965, after a career that included brave service in the Italian Campaign in 1943-44, and the liberation of Holland. Later in 1977, he retired from the Ottawa Real Estate Board. He will be sadly missed by the staff and residents of the Stittsville Retirement Villa. Friends and relatives may pay their respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road at Albion Road, on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a service in the Chapel at noon. He was a quiet, peace loving and spiritual man. Although he was able to find serenity in his own solitude, he treasured the times he spent with his circle of close friends and his family. The family would like to express their thanks to all those who have in many ways tried to help Wes through some trying times and health concerns. His life ended far too soon and he will be missed. VAN BUREN - Pearl M. (Ayotte) Pelletier, 92, died Feb. 5, 2005, at a Van Buren nursing home. She was born in Hamlin, July 31, 1912, the daughter of Edmund and Marie (Jovin) Ayotte. She was a member of the Evangeline Circle, Daughter of Isabella and the Third Order of Mary, and a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne of St. Bruno-St. Remi Parish. Mrs. Pelletier is survived by one sister, Anne Marie Licko of Tampa, Fla.; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Telesphore Pelletier in 1998. STOCKHOLM - Peter Brian Bossie, 53, died Feb. 4, 2005, at his Stockholm residence following a brief illness. He was born Nov. 29, 1951, in Van Buren the son of Edwin and Lucie (Gagnon) Bossie. He attended the Stockholm school, was a 1970 graduate of Caribou High School and was a graduate of Northern Maine Community College. Peter was a self-employed electrical, plumbing and building contractor in the area. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He served for several years as a selectman for the town of Stockholm. Peter was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family and friends at his camp on Madawaska Lake. He will be fondly remembered by many for his generous spirit and willingness to always lend a hand. He married Rhonda (Levesque) Bossie Feb. 3, 1973. Surviving in addition to his wife of Stockholm; is one son, Chad Bossie of Stockholm; two daughters, Krista Bossie of Portland and Morgan Bossie of Stockholm; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Wendy Bossie of Stockholm, James and Doris Bossie of Stockholm and Richard and Joanne Bossie of Caribou; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Delmar Bossie of Bangor and Anne and Michael Sandstrom of Cross Lake; his mother-in-law, Pauline Blake of Barrington N.H.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. LaFONTAINE, JR., JOHN J., 'JOHNNY JOE' 54, of Hunter St., died Saturday at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Florence M. 'Flori' (Giroux) LaFontaine for 29 years. A son of John J. LaFontaine of Warwick and the late Ruth E. (Mulligan) LaFontaine, he was a lifelong Warwick resident. Mr. LaFontaine was employed for Meader Tree Service, Narragansett Brewery, the Warwick School Dept., and as an independent contractor for the City of Warwick. He was a lifelong member of the Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Co., a member of the Oakland Beach Sportsman's Club and one of the founders of the Oakland Beach Beer Blast. He is also survived by one brother, James A. LaFontaine of Warwick, eight nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife, AnneMarie (Gaudet) Boudreau; two sisters, Lorraine (Dolore) Cormier, of College Bridge, and Anita (Joseph-Lionel) Gaudet of Memramcook; six brothers, Oscar (Agnes) Boudreau, of Lacolle, Quebec, Gerard (Dorine) Boudreau, of Pre-D'en-Haut, Alonzo (Annie) Boudreau, of Memramcook Lake, Oris (Anita) Boudreau, of La Montain, Alphonse Boudreau and Clarence (Leonie) Boudreau, of St-Anselme; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Alphonse. Resting at Dupuis Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, February 6 from 7 to 9 pm and Monday, February 7 from 2 to 6:30 pm. Benjamin G. Little 1928 - 2005 REXTON, NB - Benjamin Gerald Little, 76, husband of the late Audrey (McBeth) Little, of Rexton, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2005 at home. Born in Clairville, NB, he was the son of the late Albert Little and Catherine (Scott McNarin) Little. He was a retired businessman and a member of St. Andrew's United Church, Rexton. He was a member of St. Andrew's Masonic Lodge No.16 F.&A.M. and was a Charter Member of the Rexton Lions Club. His passions included harness racing, hunting and fishing. He trained and drove the Maritimer and shared ownership with many others. He was a licensed guide and in the fall, Salmon River and the camp were foremost in his mind. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he is survived by two daughters, Janice and Heather; two sons, Bill (Claudette) and Mac (Susan); eight grandchildren, Tanya, Jeff, Trevor, Matt, Rob, Dave, Victoria and Nic; four great grandchildren, Jack, Kate, Chloe and Kody; and by two sisters, Dorothy Dunn (late Walter) and Myrtle McWilliam (Jim). Besides his wife, Audrey; he was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Reid (late Bob); and two brothers, George Little (late Muriel) and Burton Little. Fred C. Nix PUGWASH, NS - Fred Carvell Nix, 64, of Pugwash, and formerly of Collingwood, died on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 in Largo, Florida. Born in Collingwood, he was a son of the late Carvell and Lola (Thompson) Nix. After graduating from O.R.H.S., Fred worked with the Bank of Nova Scotia in Amherst. He then worked with the credit department with Massey Ferguson in Moncton, and later in Truro. Fred then joined Bragg Lumber Company in Collingwood. He later moved to Bragg Communications, which has since become EastLink Communications, where he was Vice President and General Manager until his retirement. Fred was a member of Wesley-St. Matthew's United Church in Pugwash, where he was past Chairman of the Board of Stewarts. He was a former member of Oxford & Area Lions Club, serving as Past President, Past Zone Chairman and Past Deputy District Governor. Fred was a former member of Cumberland Snowmobile Club. He was also a member of Sunrise ATV Club and looked forward to their fall trips. Fred enjoyed golfing and was a member of Northumberland Links in Pugwash. Those who were lucky enough to know him were touched by his willingness to help anyone in need. But he will be most remembered for his neverending love of his "shooting star", Joyce, who was his partner for a short 45 years. To his kids and grandkids, he was the most awesome Dad and Grampie in the world. It is a sudden loss of a very full life, but his is a life that we are all very thankful for. He is survived by his wife, the former Joyce Mills, formerly of Springhill; sons, Greg (Alvina), Pugwash, and Grant (Deirdre), Oakville, ON; daughter, Kim (Ken) Gillies, Oakville, ON.; grandchildren, Emily, Kimberley and Jarred Nix, and Bradley and Sean Gillies; brother, Doug (Karen), Kingston; sister, Ruth (Dave) Cudmore, Riverview, NB. Geoffrey Arthur Roberts February 08, 1931 - February 05, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) ROBERTS, Geoffrey Arthur - 73, Dartmouth, passed away February 5, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Porth, Wales, on February 8, 1931, he was a son of the late Morgan and Mable (Ransom) Roberts. Geoffrey came to Canada in 1951 on the Queen Mary. He then worked for Fairy Aviation. He sailed on various ships then went to work in the Bedford Magazine, before returning to the sea. He retired from DND in 1996 at the age of 64. He managed the concessions at Bedford Yacht Club for several years. Geoffrey enjoyed playing darts and bingo. He was a friend to all who knew him, and will be remembered for his sense of humour and zest for life. He is survived by his wife, Rachel (Smith); sons, Arnold, Geoffrey, Barry, Wayne Roberts, all of Dartmouth; daughter, Charmaine (Dave) Dunn, Dartmouth; stepsons, Robert (Bonnie) Foster, Port LaTour, Joey (Sue) Foster, Port LaTour; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; sister, Beryl Winup, England; brothers, Kenneth and Eric Roberts, Philadelphia; John Roberts, California; Vivian Roberts, Washington. Margaret "Rose" Keith 1940 - 2005 HOPEWELL HILL, NB - Margaret "Rose" Keith, 64, of Hopewell Hill passed away on February 5, 2005 at The Moncton City Hospital with her loving husband by her side. Rose was born in Amherst, NS, on June 30,1940 the daughter of the late Leigh and Margaret Smith. She was a Registered Nurse who graduated from the Moncton Hopsital School of Nursing in 1961. She worked up until the time she lost her sight in 1980. She married the love of her life, David, in 1965. Rose was a member of the RiversideAlbert Baptist Church and also a member of the Harvey Baptist Women's Missionary Society. When she was able she enjoyed needlepoint and was an avid gardener. She was a beloved wife and mother and will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by her devoted and caring husband, Rev. David Keith of Hopewell Hill; her loving daughter, Lynn Blake (Todd) of Lake Echo, NS; sister, Hattie Smith of Sackville; her aunt, Evelyn Smith of Amherst and will also be sadly missed by several cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by an infant sister. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Monday, February 7, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 2pm with Rev. Jack Allen officiating. Roussel, Rhéal ROUSSEL - M. Rhéal de Gatineau (secteur Hull) est décédé le vendredi 4 février 2005, à l'âge de 76 ans. Il était l'époux bien-aimé de Léonie Bigras, le fils de feu Camille Roussel et de feu Fabiola Deault. Outre son épouse, il laisse ses 2 enfants: Jean (Micheline) et Joanne (Serge); 1 petite-fille, Jessica; 1 soeur, Liliane Leduc; plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces et ses nombreux amis. La famille désire remercier le Dr Guy Morissette et le personnel de l'urgence du CHVO de Hull pour leur attitude professionnelle et rassurante. Il n'y aura pas de visites au salon, cependant la famille invite parents et amis à se joindre à elle le mercredi 9 février 2005 à 11h en l'église Ste-Rose-de-Lima, Gatineau, pour une messe en présence des cendres. Elenea Comanescu August 11, 1933 - February 02, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Liana Comanescu on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at The Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary. Liana was born and raised, and lived in Bucharest, Romania. After finishing university, she met and married Dr. Arthur Comanescu and together they had their only child. Liana was extremely devoted and generous to her entire family, and, more than anything, adored her son. Her professional activity started as a dedicated math and physics teacher, and continued with joining the R&D Institute for Industrial Glass and Ceramics as a lead scientific researcher. Liana spoke Romanian, English, Italian, French and some German. She defected to Italy in 1981, and moved to Canada in 1982 where she continued to be a great mother, and eventually became a grandmother. Liana was truly a multi-talented person, with artistic skills that amazed many, and a musical ability that inspired and delighted friends and family. Liana was predeceased by her husband Arthur and her parents Constantin and Sevasta. She will be missed by her son Sherban; granddaughter Sabrina; Cristina and friends in Calgary and Toronto, and relatives in New York, Italy and Romania. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Leyden's Funeral Home, 17th Ave. & 2nd Street SW, on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 402 Meredith Road NE, on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Isabelle Brannagan (née Gignac) September 09, 1914 - February 06, 2005 BRANNAGAN, Isabelle (nee Gignac) 90 years, on February 6, 2005, peacefully at Richmond Terrace, in Amherstburg. Beloved wife of the late John. Loving mother of Anne Marie & David Christian of Burlington, Patrick & Vivian of McGregor, and Brian & Kim of Windsor. Loved grandmother of Melanie, Melissa, Garrett, and Julia. Predeceased by her sisters Madeline & husband Harold Beaudoin, Bernice & husband Les Libby, and Sister Mary Antonia (Eveline), and her brothers Norman & Vera Gignac, Richard & Corrine Gignac, and Noble & Cecile Gignac. Her winning smile will be sadly missed by all including her many nieces and nephews. Isabelle was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish for many years.
