VIDICAN, Helen Born November 21, 1913 in Saskatchewan. Survived by her loving companion of 27 years, Hans (Bubbi) Koehnke. Predeceased by her loving husband Ted Vidican (1976). Devoted and compassionate mother of Priscilla and Bill Parsons, Dennis and Kim Kostescu and step-mother to Donald Vidican. Predeceased by her loving children, Peter Kostescu (1945) and Loretta Lebel (1969). Helen will be sadly missed by her devoted grandchildren, Lois, Wayne and Anna, Pam, Vince and Lynn, Dennis Jr. and Delilah, Sherri and Alex, Jason, Victoria, Kathleen, Lindsay, Teddy, Cindy, Matthew and Sherry. She was an extremely generous and giving woman who touched the lives of so many close friends, neighbours and acquaintances. Helen was an avid quilter who presented each of her family and many friends with a quilt keepsake. Her love for her family was deep and unconditional. Helen loved to cook and spent many years catering throughout the city as well as working for Dominion Stores Ltd. Born in Saint John on July 24, 1963, she was the daughter of Katherine (Brookins) Marr of Saint John and the late James Marr. Kathy was employed with Kate-Lyn Courier in the Payroll Department. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Kevin Wayne Brideau and Christopher Edward Brideau, both at home, three brothers, Wayne Douglas Marr, Donald Malcolm Marr (Rhonda) and Ronald Edward Marr (Tina) all of Saint John, sister-in-law Lorrieanne Marr of Saint John, one granddaughter, Brooklyn Joan Kennedy-Brideau, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Patrick James Marr in January 2005. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. DELONG, IRENE CARIE - On February 1, 2005 the passing of Irene (McElhinney) Delong of Woodstock, NB occurred at the Carleton Memorial Hospital at the age of 69. Born in Lower Brighton she was the daughter of the late Flavell and Hazel McElhinney. Irene is survived by husband Ervin, Woodstock, NB; son, Andrew Harvey, Albernie, BC; three grandchildren, Catlin, Catherine and Christopher Delong, all of Woodstock, NB; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Delong; eight sisters and four brothers, several nieces and nephews. A brother and sister predeceased Irene. Visitation will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road on Thursday 2-4PM and 7-9PM. HARRISON, JAMES MITCHELL - James Mitchell Harrison of Saint John passed away peacefully on February 1, 2005. A long term resident of the Loch Lomond Villa, D-Wing, he was born to the late Peter and Jessica (Mitchell) Harrison in Scotland on November 29, 1926, immigrating to Canada in 1929. Jimmy was devoted to his wife, the late Reta (Breau) Harrison who predeceased him on May 2, 2001. Jimmy loved Cape Breton and made frequent trips to his second home in Neils Harbour. He served in the Merchant Navy during World War II. He retired from the Irving Oil Refinery. Jimmy is survived by daughter Marcia (Glenn Foote), son Mitchell (Glenda), daughter Zandra Theriault (Rod Hanley), and grandchildren Shawn, Carla, Ryan, Jonathan, Andrew, Jessica, Erin, Devon, and Brandon, all of Saint John. He is also survived by sons Terry and Kevin, daughters April (Hupple) and Linda (Ross), brother Robert, sister Margaret (Chisholm), 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, all of Ont. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by son James, brothers Thomas and Peter, and sister Mary (Lewis). Resting at A.W. Cavanagh Funeral Home, 91 Leinster Street, Saint John, NB (506-634-1712), with visitation Thursday, February 3rd, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A tribute to a veteran service will be held on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be celebrated by Rev. Wally Corey on Friday, February 4th at 11:00 a.m. from Cavanagh Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens following the service. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

LANNEN, JAMES C. - At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, February 2, 2005 at 95 years and 3 months, Mr. James C. Lannen of 616, St-François Road, Edmundston, NB passed away. He is the husband of Mrs. Geneviève Comeau and was the son of James Charles Lannen and Mary Shea from Saint John, NB. He is also survived by: three sons, Paul (Lise) from Baker Lake, NB; Peter from Fort McMurray, Alta; and Jamie from Banff, Alta; four daughters, Mary Godin from Ottawa, Ontario; Wendy McKay from LockPort, New York; Susan Gnyla (Jim Hein) from Fort Kent, Me; and Elizabeth Lannen (Ian Wens) from Ottawa, Ontario; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral service will held Friday, February 4, 2004 at 2:00PM in the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Edmundston, NB. Born March 21, 1969, in Moosejaw, Sask., Tanya was raised in Halifax and attended schools in both Halifax and Dartmouth. She had a tender heart for animals, a great sense of humour, was a strong fighter for the underdog and believed in love. Tanya had fight, spunk, charm, tenacity, a strong character and personality. She will be missed. Tanya is survived by her sons, Dayne and Taryn; partner, Ron Dares "Tippy"; mother, Marion Claridge (Kevin), Ontario; brother, Kenneth Kelly, Coldbrook; sister, Rosemarie Hayes (Mike), Victoria; special aunt, Connie Rhyno (George), Timberlea; aunt Margaret Pottie, Cape Breton, as well as numerous cousins. John was a cook in the Officers Training Centre of the navy then became co-owner of the Silver Dollar Restaurant, Ochterloney Street, Dartmouth. He was fireman in the Department of National Defence for 37 years. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Rita Mabel (Osborne); son, David (Julie) Choban, Ottawa; daughter, Linda (Karl) Small, Bridgewater; brother, David (Pat) Choban, British Columbia; sisters, Hazel Koseruba, Saskatchewan; Ann (Don) Gillis, British Columbia; Gladys (Lloyd) Diblee, Alberta; grandchildren, Dean and Jared Small, Ontario; Karson Small, Lower Sackville; Kara Small, Calgary, Alta.; Gregory and Nicole Choban, Ontario; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Emma Small. Joy Wood March 31, 1936 - January 30, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Evergreen Funeral Home Joy Wood of Coquitlam, BC, formerly of Edmonton passed away on January 30, 2005 due to heart failure. Joy was born on March 31, 1936 in South End on Sea, England. Joy will be sadly missed by her devoted husband Ron, who, cared for her as she dealt with Alzheimer’s. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, daughter Lindsey (Keith) of Port Coquitlam; sons, Steve (Rhona) of Edmonton and Scott (Lisa) of Abbotsford. “Nana” will be lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren, Riley, Katie, Sarah, Brett, Autumn, Erin and Matthew. She is survived by her sister Essie (Geff) and sister-in-law Jean of England. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Sid. Joy will be remembered for her spunky personality, great sense of humor and lovingness toward her family and friends. Joy had the opportunity to explore much of Canada and lived in Toronto, Kitchener, Windsor, Sault Ste Marie, Edmonton and Coquitlam. She will be missed greatly by those who knew her.
