Born in Galt, Ontario, 86 years ago, son of the late Fred Wheeler and Mary (Robb). Surviving are his wife the former Areta (Leidy), two sons Allan and Shirley of St. Charles, Ernest and wife Nata of Chatham, one daughter Mary and husband Adrian Roy of Chatham, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, a sister Kathleen and husband John McCue of Rockford, Illonois, a brother-in-law Orlen and wife Nellie of Branchton, and a sister-in-law Marg Leidy of Kitchener. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Albert came to Chatham in 1964 and was a member of the Masonic Wellington Victory Masonic Lodge #46 and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28. Friends will be received at the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham, (519-352-2390) for visitation on Sunday, Feb 6, 2005 from 2-5pm. Mrs. Lesley Hirsch Funeral arrangements by Glenwood Funeral Home On February 2, 2005 Mrs. Lesley Hirsch of Sherwood Park passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Braden, her sons; Jordan and Devon, her mother Doris Brandell, her mother & father-in-law Peter and Beatrice Hirsch, sister-in-law Darlene Brandell, her husband's family; Michelle Hirsch (Neil Smith) and Charlotte (Wayne) Wheeler as well as many good friends. Lesley was predeceased by her father Donald Brandell, her brother Dr. Wylie Brandell. Lesley was a dedicated mother who cherished her sons. She was very involved in supporting all of their activities including hockey, baseball, football, basketball, martial arts, school events and anything else that they wanted to try. Her family was her biggest treasure. MALONE Lavalette Ingram, Deirdre Deirdre Lavalette Malone died on Tuesday February 1, 2005. Predeceased by her husband Thomas Paul Malone. She is survived by daughter Patricia and sons Anthony, Mark, Christopher and David; daughters-in-law Suzanne (Labbe), Isabelle (Raud), Carole (Marsot), son-in-law Robert Lyons; grandchildren Charles, Justine, Julian, Nicholas, Antoine Malone; Sarah, Elizabeth and Kathleen Lyons; great-grandchildren Maya and Alex. Deirdre Malone, scholar, journalist, intrepid traveller, devoted mother and wife was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1915. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Sefton Erroll Ingram. After graduating from Sydney University with First Class Honors and medals in History and English Literature, she joined the editorial staff of Sun Newspapers, Sydney, as a columnist. In 1940, she married Paul Malone, a Canadian journalist working as a guest editorial visitor on the Sun, travelling under sponsorship of the Commonwealth Press Union. They departed immediately for Canada where he worked briefly for the Edmonton Journal and the Vancouver Daily Province before being appointed press attache of the Office of the High Commissioner of Canada in Canberra and Representative of Canada's Wartime Information Board in Australia. During their subsequent 37-year diplomatic career, she resided in Canberra, Ottawa, Washington and The Hague. Following his appointment as ambassador to Iran in 1962, High Commissioner to Nigeria in 1967, Ambassador to Israel in 1972 and Ambassador to Finland in 1975, she lived in Tehran, Lagos, Tel Aviv and Helsinki. While Paul served on the Directing Staff of the National Defence College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario, Deirdre attended courses at Queens University on Quebec Literature and circled the globe several times. They lived in Ottawa and in Cyprus following retirement in 1980. A life-long scholar, she followed courses in comparative religions, archaeology and modern languages at Tehran, Tel Aviv, Helsinki and at Queens (Kingston, Ontario) Universities. Her skill as an artist enabled her to bequeath to members of her family paintings of many memorable scenes from her travels. They remember her with pride as a loving and gifted wife, mother and grandmother. OBITUARY DR. KIRBY LEE MCGOWN After a fierce battle with cancer, "Lee" died peacefully in the arms of his loving wife, Marilyn, at his home in the beautiful Blueridge Mountains of Virginia, on January 31, 2005. Born in Clarksville, Tennesse, November 19, 1943 and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Lee served in the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge from the corps, Lee went on to earn his doctorate degree in business, and subsequently moved to Montreal, taking on the position of Professor of Marketing at Concordia University. In 2001, Lee retired and wanting to once again get south of the Mason-Dixon Line, returned to the United States to take up residency in the states of Virginia, home of his greatest hero General Robert E. Lee. Lee was a serious history buff, a lover of the great outdoors, an avid traveller, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by his wife Marilyn McGown of Nellysford, Virginia, daughter Hiliary McGown of Toronto, Ontario, sister Kathleen Phelan of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, nephews Grant Phelan of Naples, Florida and Adam Phelan of Atlanta, Georgia. True to his wishes, following a simple family graveside ceremony, Lee will be laid to rest at the McGown family cemetery in San Augustine, Texas on February 4th - "home at last". Predeceased by his first wife, June (nee Arrowsmith) and sister Vera Birch. Frank served in the Second World War as a Radio-telegrapher/Tail Gunner with the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy. After the war, he followed the family tradition of employment within the shoe and leather industry. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 and joined Clarke's Shoes of Canada, and several years later began a multi-year career in retail. In recent years, he and his first wife June operated the Helen Anne Shop in Waterloo. Frank attended St. Georges Anglican Church, Kitchener. Frank's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the HENRY WALSER FUNERAL HOME, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (749-8467). ZANETTI, LYDIA M. (nee ALLARD), age 79, a four-year resident of Naperville, IL, formerly of Pascoag, RI, died Monday, January 31, 2005 in Naperville. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Onesime and Lydia (nee Guertin) Allard. Lydia Marie Allard was born April 25, 1925 in Glendale, RI and was a graduate of Burrillville High School in 1942. She married Charles Joseph Rivet, moved to Seattle, WA, and had three children. She was widowed in 1953 and returned to Rhode Island. In 1962 she married Ernest J. Zanetti and they had a daughter.In addition to working as a homemaker, hairdresser and library aide, Lydia was a skilled seamstress, rug maker and toy maker whose work was highlighted in the Woonsocket Call in 1981. Mrs. Zanetti was also an avid reader, a perennial gardner, and an adventurous cook who shared her culinary skills with her children and grandchildren.She is survived by a daughter, Theresa Zanetti (Brian) O'Neil of Naperville, IL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Esther Beaudreau of Slatersville, RI. In addition to her first and second husbands and her parents, Lydia was preceded in death by her daughters Linda Rivet Waltz and Gayle Rivet Morin, and a son, Charles A. WORCESTER— Doris Winifred (Allen) Marcoux, 86, of 7 Agate Ave., died Tuesday, Feb. 1 in Autumn Village. Born in Lakewood, Ohio, she was the daughter of John W. and Ruth E. (Gilard) Allen and lived in Worcester and Worcester County most of her life. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Walter M. Marcoux, and four children, Walter N. Marcoux of Paxton and Marco Island, FL, Earl J. Marcoux of Fort Myers, FL, Dennis M. Marcoux of Worcester, and Carol W. Lauzier of Mansfield; a brother, John W. Allen, Jr. of Pittsfield; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her brother, Abbott P. Allen, predeceased her. She was married in 1937 in St. Margaret Mary Church and was a member for 68 years. She worked as a clerk at Denholm and McKay's and Bradlees. She also worked part time in domestic service and in the office for Dr. Frances Dufault of Worcester. Mrs. Marcoux accompanied her husband on many business trips throughout the United States. She loved the outdoors, gardening and swimming and was an avid reader and sewer. The funeral will be Sat., Feb. 5 from Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 75 Alvarado Ave. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Bissonette, John O. 'Ozzie' -- Bay City, Michigan -- John O. "Ozzie" Bissonette, age 80 years, died February 2, 2005 at The Carriage House of Bay City. He was born in Standish on January 27, 1925 to the late Joseph and Lavina (LaClair) Bissonette. John was employed in construction for 17 years working out of the Laborer's local #1098. He served with the U. S. Navy during World War II. John was a member of St. Joseph Church, Knights of Columbus, Council #414 and St. Joseph Church Senior Club. He was a life member of VFW Post #485, life member of VFW National Home in Eaton Rapids, MI, past commander of VFW Post #485 and held the office of Quartermaster for 18 years. John was past VFW District and State Color Guard and local poppy and Voice of Democracy chairman for VFW post #485. He was very proud to be vice chairmen of a group of nine that volunteered their time to have the expansion of the Bay County Community Center to be built for the Riverside Senior Center. The Bissonette family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses, aides and activity girls at the Carriage House for the kind and compassionate care they provided for John during his illness. Philippe Joseph Boudreau, 61, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Sharon Lee (Smith) Boudreau, died Wednesday, (February 2, 2005), at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Hartford, son of the late Raoul and Rosemarie (Fournier) Boudreau, he had lived in West Hartford most of his life and was employed at Gammones & Hoaglund Manufacturing, Manchester. Mr. Boudreau was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Besides his wife, he is survived by several cousins and friends. LITCHFIELD -- Romeo Jay Bourget, 68, of Grant Road, Litchfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, after a 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Romeo was born in Rome on Feb. 11, 1936, the son of Romain Joseph and Mildred Abbie (French) Bourget. He attended schools in Augusta and graduated from Cony High School in 1954. Romeo married Judith L. Harriman of Gardiner on Aug. 27, 1960. He was a very hard worker, and a loving husband and father. He loved and enjoyed his two granddaughters very much. Romeo was an entrepreneur in the automotive business. He worked for various dealerships until he opened his own business in 1976, Romeo's Body Shop. Romeo and Leon Crockett also started Leon and Romeo's Auto Sales in 1980. He joined the Masons in November 1972 and was a member of Morning Star Lodge 41 of Litchfield and past master in 1995; he joined Mystic Chapter 69, Order of the Eastern Star, in February 1976, and was past patron four times, in 1983, 1984, 1987 and 1988; he joined Kora Shrine in June 1972; and he was director of the Kora Motor Corp. from 1984 to 1994, when he stepped down to devote a year of rebuilding the Masonic hall in Litchfield. Romeo also was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Put Stevens's 107, from 1993 to present. Romeo is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judith; sons Mitchell J. Bourget and wife Laurencia of Falmouth, and Lawrence N. Bourget and wife Lisa of Raleigh, N.C.; and brothers Oliver K. Bourget and wife Carolyn of Gardiner, Romain Bourget and wife Judy of Augusta, and Bruce Bourget and wife Nancy of Gardiner. Romeo is also survived by his two precious granddaughters, Gabrielle M. and Jacqueline M. Bourget of Falmouth; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. He was loved by all whose paths he crossed over the years. Romeo was predeceased by his father, Romain J. Bourget Sr.; mother Mildred French Bourget; a sister, Sylvia Bourget, who passed away at age 3; a half-brother, Roger J. Bourget of Phoenix; and a half-sister, Violette Willard of West Gardiner. The family wishes to thank Dr. Swanson of Brigham & Women's Hospital and Dr. Keating of Mid-Coast Hospital, and the staff of Chans Home Health Care & Hospice and Assisted Home Care II for all they did to make Romeo's last months more comfortable.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Christ Church, 2 Dresden Ave., Gardiner. Visiting hours will be 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main St., Monmouth. Interment will be in the spring at Litchfield Plains Cemetery, Litchfield. MADAWASKA - Aline C. Michaud, 82, died peacefully Feb. 1, 2005, surrounded by family and friends at a Fort Kent hospital. She was born Nov. 21, 1922, in the Lavertu Settlement in Grand Isle, the daughter of Dennis and Julie (Lavertu) Clavette. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Michaud; and by two sons, Janel and Gilman. WESTMINSTER -- Mellenise C. Chastain, formerly of 5 Meetinghouse Road, Westminster, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, after a brief illness. She was born on July 24, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Mellenise (Morency) Daigle.She worked at Independent Lock, Mead Papers, Boston Paper Board and Wachusett Potato Chip Co. She was union president of local 989 AFL-CIO for the Boston Paper Board.She enjoyed playing cribbage and Yahtzee. She also was a volunteer for the Westminster Council on Aging; and she helped others whenever she could.Mrs. Chastain is survived by her son, Edward L. Chastain Jr. and his wife, Shirley; her daughter, Beverly Reid and her husband, Robert, of Westminster; five grandchildren, Rob Reid, Mark Reid, Scott Chastain, Melanie (Reid) Holloway, Robyn (Chastain) Marchant, and Holley (Chastain) Reid; and eight great-grandchildren.
