WATERVILLE -- Nathalie Marguerite Hebert, 99, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home in Waterville.She was born in Lynn, Mass., on April 14, 1905, the daughter of Napoleon E. and Emma Blair Hebert. She came to Waterville from Lynn when she was 13 to live with relatives. Miss Hebert was one of the founders and first president for the first four years of Sisters Hospital Auxiliary and Treasurer for 14 years and remained an active Guild member until later years. She graduated from Mount Merici Academy in 1923.She was president of Mount Merici Alumni Association, president of Columbus Guild, president of the Waterville District of the Maine Council of Catholic Women, and president of the Catholic Junior Guild. She was the only woman in the Civil Defense Division of the Waterville Police Department during the 1940s. She was executive secretary of the Kennebec Water Co. for 47 years, retiring in 1970.She enjoyed traveling, visiting friends, hunting and fishing on Moosehead Lake. She was a woman of exceptional talent and great vitality.She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Clarence Hebert; her beloved cousin, Sr. Carmelita Mathieu and Frank Lewis Leighton. She is survived by a niece, Mary Jane Hebert of La Canada, Calif., and a cousin, Theresa de Simone of Everett, Mass., as well as three great-nieces and numerous grandnieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 70 Pleasant St., Waterville. Committal prayers will be said at church. SERRÉ, Roland (1925-2005) - Décédé à l'âge de 79 ans après un long combat contre la fibrose pulmonaire. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Rachel (née Forgette); ses enfants: Suzanne (Jean Maisonneuve) de North Bay, Michel (Claire) de Tecumseh, Christine (Marc Séguin) de Beamsville et Mario de Laval, Québec; ses petits-enfants; Alain (Micheline) et Kim Maisonneuve, Eric et Luc Serré, Mélanie et André Séguin et Alexis Serré, arrière-petits-enfants, Devin, Emilie, Marc, Mathieu; un frère, Arsidas et une soeur, Soeur Fabiola Serré, fdls. De nombreux neveux et nièces se souviendront aussi de lui avec affection. Roland a été opérateur télégraphiste pour le chemin de fer Canadien National pendant plusieurs années. Il est ensuite devenu producteur de patates et par la suite Directeur du Ontario Potato Marketing Board. Roland fut président de la Coopérative régionale du Nipissing. Il a aussi été Directeur des Coopératives Unies de l'Ontario, Directeur et Président de la Caisse populaire de Field ainsi que Directeur de la Régionale des Caisses populaires. Roland était membre des Chevaliers de Colomb. Il était un fervent de chasse et pêche. Il était le frère bien-aimé de feu Télesphore, Rodolphe, Dorias, Ferdinand, Aurore, Bernadette, Victoria, Rose Emma, Lilliane et Rose Alma. La famille recevra parents et amis à la MAISON FUNÉRAIRE THÉORæT le dimanche 30 janvier 2005 de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h. Les funérailles seront célébrées par le Révérend Gérald Lajeunesse, le lundi 31 janvier 2005 à la paroisse de la Résurrection. En signe de condoléances, des dons à l'Association canadienne pulmonaire seraient appréciés. He also dedicated himself as Director and President of the Caisse populaire of Field and also as Director of la Régional des Caisses populaires. Roland was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a great love of nature and was a member of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Telesphore, Rodolphe, Dorias, Ferdinand, Aurore, Bernadette, Victoria, Rose Emma, Lilliane and Rose Alma. The family will receive relatives and friends at the THÉORæT FUNERAL HOME, on Sunday, January 30 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Reverend Gérald Lajeunesse at the Résurrection Parish at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2005. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

DICKSON, Catharine (Kitty) McLean Miss Dickson died peacefully on January 25, 2005 at the West End Villa. Beloved daughter of the late Captain Alexander and Jennie Dickson. Catharine spent her entire career as a secretary at Mortimer Limited until she retired in 1974. She was a long time member of St. Paul's United Church. She was the dear aunt to 3 nieces and 1 nephew; Dr. Betty Carter of Vancouver, BC, Margaret MacDonald, Charmaine Peach and Boyd McKenzie, all of Dartmouth, NS, as well as several great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her lifelong friends from her printing career; Bill Campbell and Earl Casey who were at her side during her last days. Catharine was predeceased by 3 sisters Vera, Marjorie and Anne and 3 brothers Harold, Charles and Robert. WILSON, Wilbur (Wib) Francis WWII Navy Veteran Royal Canadian Legion Member In loving memory of Wilbur (Wib) Francis Wilson, 81 years of age, who passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, January 21, 2005 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Center. Beloved husband of 57 years to the late Evelyn (nee Gilpin) Wilson. Devoted father to Sharon (Mark), Temiscaming, Brian (Ruth), Elginburg, and Valerie (Michael), Inverary. Cherished grandfather of Kim (Chris), Shannon (predeceased), Stuart, Curtis and Brenna (Jeff). Extra special great-grandfather of Ethan. Treasured by close friend, Maurice (Morris) Harten. Dear son of the late George Albert Wilson and the late Mary (May) Elizabeth (nee Kennedy) Wilson. Much loved brother of Albert (Bert) Wilson predeceased, Lorraine Stewart (Archie) predeceased, Ray Wilson predeceased (Cora), Patricia (Pat) Hall (Delbert) predeceased and Marilyn (Marl) Mick predeceased, (Murray) and brother-in-law of Fred Gilpin (Cecelia), Delta, B.C. Remembered by nieces and nephews and their families, Diane, Roger, Doug, Larry, Peter (Patti) and Todd and especially missed by special nephew and friend Dick Stewart (Theresa) and family. Wib was born in Sudbury on August 21, 1923 and grew up in the Elm St. and Regent St. area. He started work as a dishwasher at the Nickel Range Hotel and worked at a variety of jobs before joining the Navy in 1943. He was in active duty in World War II in Britain, Italy, France and Greece receiving the following medals and decorations: 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and War Medal 1939-45. Wib married Evelyn (Gilpin) Wilson of Copper Cliff in 1947 and they lived in Copper Cliff, on Regent St., Victoria St., and Arnley St. before building their second house in New Sudbury where they lived for 49 years. Wib retired from Inco in 1983 after working underground and on surface at several mines as a maintenance mechanic and carpenter. He then worked as a Commissioner at Cambrian College until full retirement. Wib was known as a hard worker, sometimes working two jobs and while on strike duty found other work. He strongly followed his commitment as a son, husband and father to be a good provider for his family. Wib was a United Church member and belonged to St. Paul's United Church and the St. Stephen's on the Hill. He was an active member of the Royal Militia and Royal Canadian Legion where for years he visited veterans in hospital and nursing homes as a volunteer. Wib loved his home, yard and cars and socializing with family and friends. He was known as a "true character' who generously shared his well known sense of humour, love of jokes and tricks and his interests in nature, science, geography, history, politics, current events, music and mechanics. Wib loved seeing the world but mostly loved Sudbury, being a proud Sudburian and Canadian. He was passionate about fairness and justice and was unafraid to speak openly and honestly about his personal views concerning social responsibility. He enjoyed telling stories and had many to tell. Wib was described by his wife and others as a real fighter and certainly fought many health problems in his later years. He survived through the Great Depression, active World War II duty and injuries, mining accidents, cancer and heart disease. Wib and his family greatly appreciated all the support and care he received that allowed him to enjoy the comforts of his home in his final years. Special mention to Dick and Theresa Stewart, Larry, Stephanie, Mandy and Morgan Holmes, Annette Lynds, Tammy O'Gorman, Diane Demeis, Diane Henry, Frank Hart and Rev. Catherine Somerville. LIVSHITS, Dr. Igor Dr. Igor Livshits, an extraordinary human being, passed away at age 79 on January 27, 2005 at the Ottawa General Hospital, following a month-long battle with illness. During his life he wore many 'hats'; he was an engineer, a high school vice-principal, a professor of physics, an electron microscope technician and a language instructor. Yet Igor's greatest gift was his love for people, and their love for him. His sense of humor, kindness and wisdom made all of us happier and better human beings. He was a most wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and particularly by his wife Alla, daughter Olia, son Leo, daughter-in-law Rebecca and grandchildren Simone and Adam. A private funeral service was held on January 28, 2005. The family will welcome visitors at their home January 30 through February 3, 3 PM onwards. SCOTT ALAN COUSINO FERRISBURGH — Scott Alan Cousino, 34, of Ferrisburgh died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 28, 2005. He was born in Stuttgart, West Germany, Oct. 6, 1970, the son of Marcel and Zandra (Flynn) Cousino. Scott attended grades 1-6 at Monkton Central School. He went to the Vocational Center for his junior and senior years for forestry. He graduated from Mount Abraham Union High School in 1988. At the time of his death he was employed by All Cycle in Williston. Scott had zest for life, he knew how to find a rainbow behind every cloud, and he knew when to offer advice and when to just listen. He was fun, silly and lighthearted; or serious, caring and sympathetic. Scott was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, grandson and friend. Scott leaves the loves of his life, his son, Garrett and daughter, Tanika Cousino; his parents, Zandra and Marcel Cousino of Monkton; a sister and brother-in law, Amy and Randy Farnsworth of Middlebury; and a brother, Ryan Cousino of Monkton; a very special niece and nephew, Mikayla and Kolby Farnsworth of Middlebury. Clinton Bernier -- July 10, 1949 - January 25, 2005 -- FORT KENT, MAINE - Clinton Bernier, 55, died January 25, 2005 in Fort Kent. He was born in Fort Kent July 10, 1949 the son of Camille Sr. and Alvine (Voisine) Bernier.Clinton loved spending time with his children, family and his dog "Lincoln" whom he absolutely adored. One of his favorite past times was collecting diecast farming equipment. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Following his military career he lived in Long Island, New York where he was self employed as a Framing contractor for 30 years where he developed a life long friendship with the construction community. His work was his passion.He is survived by his two children; Christopher Bernier of East Hampton, N.Y. and Elizabeth Saucier and her husband Christopher of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Gisele Elsaas -- Born on February 8, 1930, in Marseille, France, passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2005. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Atle Elsaas, of Bergen, Norway, her parents, Marius and Julia Jacquet of Marseille, France and first husband, Charles Wright of Brownboro, Texas. Mrs. Elsaas is survived by her son, Steven (Diana) Wright and grandchildren, Paul, Thomas and Elaine Wright of Tucson. She is also survived by cousins, Suzette Quet of Toulouse, France and Huguette Rouyre of Ganges, France. Mrs. Elsaas emigrated to the United States in 1956 and lived for several years in the south. In 1959 she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked in various positions for the French government. Her last position, the one she loved best, was at the French High School in Bethesda, Maryland. Mr. and Mrs. Elsaas retired to Tucson in 1986. Her passion was traveling and with her husband, Atle, she enjoyed many wonderful trips. A memorial service will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY on Sunday, January 30th at 3:00 p.m.

Lois Janicke Hebert Granger, 86, of Beaumont, died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Vivian, Louisiana, Lois moved to Beaumont when she was five years old and attended South Park High School, where she was named valedictorian of her class. She married J. W. Hebert in 1936 and was a long-term secretary for Dr. F. Peel Allison. After Mr. Hebert's death in 1981, she married Edgar Granger in 1983. Throughout her life, Lois enjoyed going to dances and traveling. She traveled throughout most of the United States and many foreign countries. Survivors include her husband, Edgar H. Granger, Jr. of Beaumont; her son, Rodney W. Hebert and his wife Judith of Gulf Breeze, Florida; her daughter, Vonda H. Sharron and her husband Doug of San Antonio; her stepson, E. Herbert Granger and his wife Gina of Detroit, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Patricia Hebert Taurasi and her husband David, Catherine Hebert Clay and her husband Steve, Wade M. Hebert and his wife Vikki Weeks Hebert, Steven A. Hebert, Todd D. Sharron and his wife Elaina McBride Sharron, Neill D. Sharron and his wife Stacey Biegert Sharron and Chad D.
