Elisabeth "Betty" Peters (née Kliewer) November 10, 1922 - January 23, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elisabeth Peters to her eternal rest on January 23, 2005 at the Grace Hospital. Elisabeth, the youngest of eight siblings, was born on November 10, 1922 at Niverville, MB to Gerhard and Anna Loeppky Kliewer. She was baptized upon confession of her faith at the Niverville CMC in June, 1941. On October 11, 1942 she was married to her dear husband John Peters and they were blessed with 62 years of love and companionship. Betty was predeceased by her parents; five brothers, John, George, Peter, Jake and Neil; and sister Anna. She will be sadly missed by her husband John; sister Helen; many relatives and friends. Special thanks and appreciation to the Grace Hospital, Dr. Gooi, Yolanda Smith and the homecare workers, friends and family who provided care and support when Elisabeth’s health began to fail. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, January 28, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with Reverend Beth McCutcheon officiating. Interment will follow. SENECAL (Newaygo) - Mrs. Hazel M. Kelley Senecal, age 93, went to be with Jesus on Monday afternoon, January 24, 2005. She was born January 13, 1912 in Grand Rapids to N.C. and Pauline (Manni) Boeskool. Hazel had been a lifelong resident of Newaygo County, and she graduated from Fremont High School in 1929. During World War II, Hazel joined The Home Front and was seldom seen without her knitting. She knit many sweaters for the GI's. She was a longtime member of the Newaygo United Church of Christ, and she had served on the Brooks Township Election Board for 52 years. She was married to David Kelley and Joseph Senecal and they both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lorraine Bessmer, Mildred Doyle, Florence Kolk Huizing, and Billie MacDonald. She is survived by her sisters and brother, Edna Powell of Grand Rapids, Beatrice Ponto of Greenwood, SC, Lois Brookhouse of Fremont, Irv (Ruth) Boeskool of Newaygo; her step-son, Bob (Evelyn) Senecal of Lawrence, KS; and by many special nieces and nephews. She was the devoted mother of Richard J. and Mark J. Imbeault. She was the sister of John E. Bucci and the late Edward A., James F., Phillip V., and William T. Bucci, Ann L. West, Mary J. Lemlin, and Elizabeth T. Tessiero. She also leaves 8 nieces and 11 nephews. The funeral will be held Friday at 10am from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Saint Augustine Church, Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Michele Ann Desnoyers, 43, of 324 East Pond Meadow Rd., Westbrook past-away Sunday, (January 23, 2005). Survived by her life partner Patricia Bennett. She was born in Middletown on February 11, 1961. Daughter of Nancy (Comstalk) Desnoyers of Old Saybrook and the late Alfred Desnoyers, Sr. Michele grew up in Chester, she graduated from Valley Regional in 1979 and Springfield College in 1997.Michele was the house manager for Sarah Seneca Inc. in Madison for five years. She loved spending time with her family and will be especially missed by her little nephew Noah. She was a passionate lover of animals. Michele was a gifted musician and an original member of Vic Malcarne's Deep River Drum Corp. She was involved in the Deep River Muster for many years, taught fife, played in the Deep River Seniors, Conn. Blues and the Conn Patriots. She spent her life caring for those with special needs and will be missed by her clients. Besides Patricia and her mom she is survived by two sisters, Sally Miller and her husband Charles of Haddam; and Diania Desnoyers and her partner Jermaine Davenport; a brother Alfred Desnoyers, Jr. of Old Saybrook and a grandson, Noah of Haddam. She is predeceased by her dad and her sister Bonnie. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 28, at St. John Episcopal Church in Essex. Family and friends may call at the Swan Funeral Home, 211 Main St., Deep River, Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be at the Centerbrook Cemetery following the church service. FITCHBURG -- Estelle L. (Dionne) Arsenault, 64, of 54 Wallace Ave., died Monday, Jan. 24, in HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster. She was born in Fitchburg on Dec. 11, 1940, the daughter of the late Walter and Marie (Gagne) Dionne and had lived here all of her life.Mrs. Arsenault was a member of the Fitchburg Retired Women’s Club, and was an active volunteer at the Montachusett Y.M.C.A., Charity Five Road and the Fitchburg Police Department’s D.A.R.E. and Citizen’s Academy Programs. In 2003, a evening was held in her honor, attended by several family members and police officials, where she was given a proclamation by the Mayor of Fitchburg for all of her years as a dedicated volunteer.Mrs. Arsenault leaves four daughters, Donna J. Born in Holyoke April 27, 1910, a daughter of the late Homer and Adelina (Baulne) Germain, she attended local schools and was a longtime resident. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Buckley Nursing Home for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Norman A. Hill and her first husband Roland Domingue. She is survived by her son Norman of South Hadley and her daughter Una Glassmaker of Minnisota, her sister Rhea Dupont of Florida, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Another son and daughter, George Hill and Ramona Fiandaca, predeceased her. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Arthur J. TROY -- Treffle H. LaChapelle, 94, of Brunswick, died suddenly on January 22, 2005 at his residence. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary LaChapelle and the husband of the late C. Bertha Lucas LaChapelle. Mr. LaChapelle was a graduate of LaSalle Institute, Class of '27, and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the European Theatre. He was the owner and operator of LaChapelle's Mobil Gas Station on Hoosick and 10th Streets in Troy until his retirement in 1970. Mr. LaChapelle was a devoted member of St. Peter's Church in Troy. Mr. LaChapelle was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and Alfred LaChapelle. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. CUMMINGTON -- Lillian L. Liebenow, 78, of 51 Lilac Ave. died Monday at home. Born in Ashfield on Sept. 20, 1926, daughter of Nelson S. and Etta L. Streeter Lanoue, she was a 1944 graduate of Sanderson Academy in Ashfield. She and her husband, the late Carl B. Liebenow, owned and operated C.B. Liebenow Trucking Inc. in Cummington. He died April 20, 2003. Mrs. Liebenow was a communicant of Cummington Village Con-gregational Church. For many years, she was an emergency medical technician for the Cummington Ambulance Ser-vice and was also a police officer on the town's police force. She enjoyed bluegrass country music, needlepoint, sewing, crafts and her animals. In past years, she enjoyed her winters in Florida. She leaves two sons, Bruce A. Jenkins of Pittsfield, Keith A. Jenkins of Cummington; a daughter, Sandra L. Mason of Hinsdale, N.H.; a brother, Silbert Lanoue of Ashfield; four sisters, Betty Smith and Viola Romer, both of Plainfield, Eleanor Fuller of Easthampton and Audrey Lewis of Louisiana; nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. AGAWAM - Claire Ruth (Lavoie) Chenevert, 73, a two year resident of this town, and previously of Easthampton, passed away Monday January 24th, at the Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. Claire was born October 15, 1931 in Northampton, and was a graduate of Easthampton High School. She was a dispatcher for Whiting Oil Company in Northampton, and previously had worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the University of Massachusetts. She is survived by her beloved husband, Roger J. Chenevert, her loving step-children, Maureen Young of West Springfield, Patricia Chenevert and Eileen Mekal of Chicopee, Donald Chenevert of Harwich, Paul Chenevert of Agawam, 9 step-grand-children, and a great-step-grandson. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Juliette M. Roy -- She was born in Williamstown, Vt. on Dec. 20, 1907, a daughter of the late Jules and Zelira (Routhier) Nadeau. For many years, she lived in South Lowell and later resided in the city's downtown area before living in Dracut.Prior to her retirement in 1973, Mrs. Roy was employed for many years by the Lowell General Hospital.She was a communicant of Ste. Alice (Alliecat) Rancourt of Acra, NY, formerly of Ossining, NY went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2005. Born on May 31, 1936, she is survived by her mother Stella Nartowicz, a sister, Agnes Mitchkoski and a brother, Frank Nartowitcz who all reside in North Hampton, Mass. Four loving children and families, Angela and Keith Tuttle of Sarasota, FL, Donna Rancourt of Norwich, NY, Nora Rancourt of Chatham, NY and Ralph and Shelly Rancourt of Preston Hollow, NY, also survive her. Miss Allie has seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Alice and her husband, Ralph resided in Ossining, NY for 30 years as owners of a local business, Better Home, Inc. After her husband's death in 1983, Alice relocated to the Catskill Region where she has resided for the last 22 years. She will rest next to her husband, Ralph at Dale Cemetery in Ossining, NY.
