Dear grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her daughter Lillian Patterson, son-in-law Carl Beech, her parents, 3 sisters and 5 brothers. John Kindrat June 01, 1919 - April 04, 2004 JOHN KINDRAT After six months of painfull cancer, Dad passed away on Sunday, April 04, 2004. Dad was born on June 01, 1919, in Sifton, MB. He was predeceased by wife, Jeanne Kindrat (Leclerc) on January 26, 2004, by his parents Dimetro & Anna Kindrat; sisters, Margaret (Larry Pambrun) and Jay (Norman Boushy); brothers, Peter (Peggy), Andy (Cecile) and Bill (Terry). Dad will be lovingly remembered by sons, Raymond (Vickie) and Larry (Linda); daughters, Lorraine (Rene Hebert) and Sharon (Bruce Urski), grandsons: Jeff, Shawn, Todd, Troy, Trevor, Daniel and granddaughter Michelle (Thomas Motyka). He is survived by sister Caroline, brothers Archie (Rose) of California, Mickey (Lena) of B.C.; also close extended families of Vic and Rose Hercun, Janine and Bill Frovich, Gerry and Elaine Leclerc, Armand Leclerc, Robert and Debbie Leclerc, Johnny Leclerc and Gisele Leclerc. Dad went to war overseas at the age of 21, He married Jeanne Leclerc, when he returned, on October 03, 1945, and they resided in St. Boniface all their married life (58 years). Dad worked with C.N.R. until his retirement in 1981. He enjoyed golf, bowling, curling, playing cards and being with family. Dad helped with the building of Archwood Community Club and Holy Family Catholic Church. He was usher at Holy Cross Church. Our grateful thanks to our family doctor, Dr. P.G. Mehta and staff, all the staff of 6A South, St. Boniface Hospital, who treated Dad with such dignity and care. Thanks to Pastoral Care services, Chaplain Doug Kellough, who was always there. Thanks to 6A-7 South, social worker Jacqueline Olynquin who took time to see Dad and family. Thanks to the Palliative Care medicine team. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Cross Church, Dubuc and Traverse, on Wednesday April 7, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. with viewing at 1:30 p.m. Service to terminate at church. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date. Pallbearers will be his six grandsons. John Lyall Mathers July 15, 1945 - April 03, 2004 It is with great shock and sadness that we announce the passing of John Mathers, aged 58, on April 3, 2004. Leaving to cherish his memory are his loving wife Ginette; his daughter Sherri-Lee, grandchildren Reeve and Oressa; daughter Tannis; son Kyle (Shannon), grandchildren Avery, Tiernan, and Rhianna; son Kurt, grand-daughter Taslynn; his brother Ted (Helga) and their daughter Sandra; his nephews Shawn, Ryan, and his niece Shae-Lynn; family Léo and Stella Arnal, Rhéal Arnal, Paulette (Lyle) Neufeld, Danny (Laurie) Arnal, and Marcel “Spike” (Brenda) Arnal, and families. John was predeceased by his father James and mother Oressa, his brother Richard, and his nephews Jimmy, Wayne, and Teddy. Born and raised in Winnipeg, John’s life was defined by his passion for living and his devotion to family. Russell Yozefowich October 06, 1934 - March 30, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Glen Eden Funeral Home (Winnipeg) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Russell. After a long illness, Russell left us peacefully late Tuesday evening at River View Health Centre. With family by his side, they had the opportunity to embrace and say good-bye before leaving to join his father Joseph, mother-in-law Lena, father-in-law Steve, and brother-in-law Ben, who all predeceased him. We are forever grateful that we were able to spend the last few hours with him to say our good-byes in our own special ways. Russell will be forever missed by his best friend and wife Mary of 43 years; daughter Sharon (Dale); sons Kelvin (Lorna), Mike (D'arcy); his mother Effie and seven grandchildren. Before his illness he had a full life. He was always willing to give a hand or throw in a smart comment. Russell loved to hunt and fish, and was always looking for that beaver, or that special bluff of oak to cut. If he was not asking Mom for that brown one, so he could go to town, he was in the garden. He used to like when the grandkids came for the holidays. Mike and Tony will miss him saying, "Better leave one for seed." Russell was employed by B.F.I. for 28 years until his illness forced him to retire in 1989. Special thanks to all the staff at Riverview Health Centre on 4 East wing. Nancy was born on June 10, 1925 at Myrtle House, Ryton, England. Pre deceased by her loving husband of 49 years John Malcolm. Nanny is survived by her son John (Nancy) and four grandchildren, Deanna (Jason), Donyne, John (Kris) and Kevin Pelter. She was fortunate to have a great granddaughter Ella and two great grandsons Bailey and Chandler. We will sadly miss the wisdom and guidance of this kind and gentle matriarch of our family. Special thanks to her doctor Dr. Scott Mountain and the doctors and nurses of the Geriatric Community Rehabilitation and Assessment Program, 7D North, Victoria General Hospital. The kindness, compassion and wonderful care they showed for my mother will never be forgotten. They are truly dedicated professionals. Harry D. Rollason July 12, 1936 - March 28, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Bowman Funeral Home ROLLASON: Peacefully with his family by his side, Harry D. Rollason, of Chatham, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer at the CKHA, St. Joseph's Campus on Sunday, March 28, 2004. Born July 12, 1936 in London. Survived by his best friend and wife Marilyn (Harris) one son Kevin and wife Gail MacAulay of Winnipeg. One daughter Karen and husband Steve Hartai of Chatham. Four grandaughters Natalie, Samantha, Sarah and Mary. His father H. Bowman Rollason of Chatham. One sister Patricia (Doug) of Tupperville. Mother-in-law Flora Campbell of London. Brother-in-law Don and wife Louise Harris of London. Predeceased by his mother Isa (McFarlane), brother-in-law Ed (Bev) Harris. Harry was often heard saying that his first job as a London Free Press carrier with 200 customers was the hardest job he ever held. Harry worked at Ellis-Don for 2 years where he met his wife of 45 years. Harry worked for 42 years at the Union Gas before the company finally agreed to let him retire December 1, 1999. Harry was a past president of Chatham Kiwanis. Chairman of the Canadian Gas Association, North American Gas Association and first Canadian President of the American Gas Association. Family and friends will be received at the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham (352-2390) for visitation on Tuesday, March 29, from 2-4:30 and 7-9pm and where funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 1:00pm with Mr. Gordon Reynolds officiating. J.D. "Robbie" Murray Robertson March 10, 1938 - March 30, 2004 Robbie passed away peacefully at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Kenora, Ontario, after a battle with cancer. Born in Winnipeg to Douglas Murray and Georgina Mary. He is survived by his wonderful wife Joan, of 35 years, daughter Margaret (Brian) of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, son Bradley (Doris) of Airdrie, Alberta, daughter Janet of Vancouver and son William (Linda) of Winnipeg. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Charlene, Yvonne, Jeffrey, Andrew, Megan, Nicole, Greg and nephews Bill and Andy (Vicki). He will be remembered fondly by all in the Whiteshell and Kenora community where he and Joan have resided for 27 years. Robbie was a woodworking enthusiast and was known for his birdfeeders, sleighs, and especially his cradles. He was a renowned fisherman and card player. Robbie and Joan operated Falcon Builders Supply for many years, and also he worked for the Department of Agriculture until retiring in 1997. The family would like to thank the wonderful hospital staff on the third floor (Kim and Carolyn) for their dedication and kindness. Cremation has taken place. William "Hugh" Perry Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Peacefully on March 31, 2004 at Riverview Health Centre, Hugh Perry passed away at the age of 80. Hugh was born in Saskatchewan on the farm near Moosomin in 1924. In 1938, the family moved to Neepawa where he farmed with his dad, until he was struck down with polio and left paralyzed from the neck down. He spent 28 years in an iron lung at King George Hospital. Thanks to modern technology, a portable ventilator did his breathing for him for the next 23 years. Before the polio, Hugh loved farming and was a very skilled carpenter and wood-worker and left us many treasured pieces. He loved sports and golfing out at Clear Lake. After the polio, his time was spent watching TV and reading. Hugh was predeceased by his father William in 1971; his sister Meta in 1972; his mother Alice in 1991; and his brother David in 1998. He is survived by his brother Gordon and wife Rose; brother-in-law Douglas Gudmandson and wife Hazel; nieces Sheila Newsome and Debra Delorme; nephews Bill Gudmandson and wife Nancy, Hugh Gudmandson and Hugh Perry; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and special friend and nurse Doris Loewen. Cremation has taken place and the memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 10 at 2:00 at Riverview Chapel, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg with a reception to follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The family sincerely thanks the doctors, nurses and numerous care-givers for their kindness and excellent care at the King George and at Riverview for the past 51 years. A very special thanks to Doris Loewen for her constant care and special friendship to Hugh and family. God bless you for your devotion - we love you. The heart of Rita's life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren. Rita was a fixture at her grandchildren's events, and could always be seen at the hockey arenas and baseball fields. Rita was the Chili Maker for the Capreol Army Cadet Corps. She was always there to cheer on her grandchildren and encouraged them in everything they participated in. When not spending time with her grandchildren Rita enjoyed playing bingo. Rita opened her heart and home to 3 special people: Michel Guenette, Roger Gauthier (predeceased) and Kim Boudreau. They were known as her honourary sons. Rita was born in Sudbury in 1944 and married Wilbert in Longlac in 1960. Along with her husband, Wilbert, they owned many service stations throughout the years. Dear daughter in law to Inez Lemieux (Longlac). Dear sister in law of Fred Lemieux (Marie), Dorothy Sullivan, Cecile Gillespie (Boris), Doreen Enberg (Lloyd), Basil (Pam), Gillis (Maxine), Jerry (Linda), Mona Paulini (Nino), Floyd predeceased (Lucille) and Rita McDougall predeceased. Annie Ripak (née Woynarski) December 14, 1912 - March 22, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Park Funeral Chapel RIPAK – Annie passed away at Porteous Lodge in Saskatoon on Monday, March 22, 2004 at age 91. Annie is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth of Calgary, AB; brother, Peter (Rose) Woynarski of Wynyard; stepbrother, Joe (Dora) Sawchen of Wynyard; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George on April 24, 1997; infant son, born and died on September 12, 1943; father, John Woynarski in 1920 and mother, Katie Sawchen in 1957; brothers, Mike Woynarski in 1981; and Nick Woynarski; and sister, Mary Lalach in 1945. Annie was born in Whitehead (Kemnay, SK) on December 14, 1912. She moved to Wynyard district with her parents and attended Halicz Rural School. In 1938, Annie married George Ripak and they lived in Wynyard. Their daughter Elizabeth was born on April 23, 1947. While in Wynyard, Annie was active member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the UOWA, Girl Guides and the Home and School Associations. In 1966 they moved to Saskatoon where she was an active member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of Holy Trinity and UOWA. George was the caretaker of the church and hall in his retirement years. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 5, 1988. She resided at Ilarion Residence from 1991 and was currently a resident of Porteous Lodge, at the time of her passing. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. The both services will be held at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of Holy Trinity, 919 – 20th Street West, Saskatoon, SK, with Rev. Fr. Taras Makowsky officiating. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Orthodox Cemetery, Saskatoon, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan or the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. John Stewart (Stu) Scullion - 03/27/2004 Passed away peacefully on March 19, 2004 at the Ottawa General Hospital at the age of 76 years.
