William "Dusty" Miller Known to all as a great friend and companion and known to family as the greatest husband, father, and grandfather a family could ever have. Bill passed away peacefully at his house in Barrie, Saturday March 1st. The family would like to thank all who were supportive and helped over the last 5 years. Special thanks the CCAC, Paramed, and especially Kim for her kind support and efforts. Predeceased by daughter Karen. Loving husband of Diny, loving father of Rick, Janice, Jody, Linda, Bill Jr., and Adam. Also sadly missed by 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. SAUNDERS, RITA M.-The death of Rita M. Saunders of Rocmaura Nursing Home, widow of George L. Saunders, occurred at her residence on Monday, March 3, 2003. Mrs. Saunders was born in Grand Digue, a daughter of the late Auguste and Josephine (Poirier) Leger. She was a member of Stella Maris Catholic Women’s League. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Fred, Arthur, and Edgar; and two sisters, Lyla and Leona. She is survived by one daughter, Rose Saunders of St. Stephen; two brothers, Andre and Phillippe Leger, both of Grand Digue; two sisters, Euphemie Boudreau and Cordelia Leger, both of Moncton; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., on Thursday afternoon at two o’clock. Andre J. Brun SAINT JOHN, NB-The death of Mr. Andre Joseph "Andy" Brun, of Rothesay Road, Saint John, husband of Irene (LeBlanc) Brun, occurred on Sunday, March 2, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Memramcook, NB, he was the son of the late Timothy and Elizabeth (Cormier) Brun. Mr. Brun lost the sight of both eyes through two different accidents, the first accident in 1939 at his home in Memramcook and the second in 1941, while he was working as a Mechanic with J. Clark and Son. After a period of training with the CNIB he started working at the Saint John General Hospital Canteen, for seven years, before he purchased two buildings, side by side and opened the doors in 1954 to Brun's Lunch Room and Variety Store, on the corner of Waterloo St. and Hospital Hill, from where he retired. Andy enjoyed bowling, working in his workshop and using his ham radio. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Albert "Al" Brun (Nancy) of Saint John; one daughter, Leona "Lee" Stephen of Saint John; seven grandchildren, Ralph John Stephen (Shelly), Michael Brun (Catherine), Monique Stephen-Davis (Bob), Carrie Mcfarlane (Wayne), Stephanie Brun, Jason Stephen (Heather) and Jen Brun; four great grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Brun, Olivia Stephen and Emma Davis; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sonin-law, Ralph J. Stephen; and one brother, Edward. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church, Clarendon Street, Saint John, on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. R.C.A.F. Veteran Dairyman The family of Horace ("Hod") Coleman are saddened to announce the passing of their father, quietly and peacefully, one day prior to his 82nd birthday at Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, March 2nd, 2003. Dad is survived by his daughters Reverend Margaret and Liana (Gallant) and his son Ron (Kathy Nephin). Dad will be very much missed by his loving grandchildren Genevieve, Jamie, Joshua, Justin and Emily (Gallant) and Travis and Peter (Coleman) as well as by his brother Dr. Lloyd Coleman, Guelph, and his sister Lenore (Motherwell), Ottawa. Dad was predeceased by our loving mother Jean (McNeely) and recently by his son-in-law Deacon George "Bing" Gallant. Owner and operator for many years of Coleman's Mississippi Creamery in Carleton Place, Dad's fondest memories were of travelling throughout the Ottawa Valley, the dairy farmers that he loved to visit and the many friends he made in Carleton Place through enjoyable years of curling and golf. Interment of his ashes will be at a family ceremony at Elmwood Cemetery, Perth, in the Spring. PETROVIC, Steve In loving memory of Steve Petrovic, 92 years, who passed away Monday morning, March 3, 2003 at The Extendicare-Falconbridge. Beloved husband of Maria (Natler) Petrovic of Sudbury. Steve was born in Tusilovic, Yugoslavia, where he worked as a Police Officer before enlisting in World War II as a member of the Allied Forces. He immigrated to Canada in 1949, then came to Sudbury where he worked at INCO for many years, retiring in 1976. He followed politics with a passion. Steve enjoyed gardening and spending time at his cottage on Manitoulin Island. Royal Navy WWII Crewmember of the HMS Hood It is with heavy heart I, Elizabeth Carnie announce the departure of my wonderful husband John Carnie who passed away peacefully by my side on March 2, 2003 at the tender age of 91. After 57 years of marriage, he was still the love of my life and days without his love, care and humour will be very hard to fill. He was a wonderful father to Sandra (Dave), Sheila (Larry) and Johnny (Lisa). In Edinburgh, Scotland, he leaves behind his loving daughter Margaret (George) and 3 sisters, Margaret, Rena, Norma and many relatives. There will be lots of fond memories for his 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren to cherish. He lived his life joyously and serenely and he always knew he was blessed, loved and respected. GERARD JOSEPH MEDERIC TURCOTTE 1923 -2003 Peacefully on March 3, 2003, at Deer Lodge Centre, with his family at his side, Gerry passed away at the age of 80. His family, daughters, Monique, Lise and Gisele; his sisters, Denise Johnson and Odette Morosse will miss him. He was predeceased by his wife Fabiola Desrosiers; his parents, Arthur and Josephine, as well as his brother Jean. Gerry worked for the city of Winnipeg as a mechanic. He will be remembered for his tireless service to CUPE 500, the Belgian Club and the Legion. A special thanks to the staff of the Dialysis Unit at St. Boniface Hospital and to the staff of 3E Deer Lodge Centre.
