Beloved husband of Ida (Lambert) Hunter of Markstay. Loving father of Linda Sorensen of Sault Ste Marie, William (wife Diane) of St. Catharines, Judith Ann (husband Dan Dusick) of Kitchener and Nancy Marie Feduck of Markstay. Cherished grandfather of Robin, Stephen, Michael, Barbara, Terra, Darryl, Stacey and great-grandchildren Billi-Jo, Stephen, Christina, Nathan, Sydney, Zach, Patricia, Samantha and Melissa. Dear son of Harold and Stella (Niven) Hunter predeceased. Dear brother of Marion Oxley of Dunnville, Jean Boose of Kamloops, B.C. and the late Bruce and Lloyd both predeceased. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Rastus will be deeply missed by Abbe. Born in Dunnville, he married Ida in Hamilton in 1945. He was the Maintenance Manager at Silverman’s for 12 years retiring in 1981. He came to Sudbury in 1971, moving to Markstay in 1981. He was a member of Hagar Twp. Senior Citizens. HOWARD, "BILL" EUGENE WILLIAM Born in the City of Toronto September 18, 1925, Bill died peacefully on February 15, 2003 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Orillia. Beloved husband and devoted friend of 48 years to Jill, Bill will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his son Andrew and daughter-in-law Susanne, daughter Jane and son-in-law Kevin, son Mark and daughter-in-law Jennifer and daughter Vickie, grandchildren Christopher, Deanna, Jeffrey, David and Cooper. Sisters Eileen Herrington of Arundel, England and Joyce Wright of Agincourt will dearly miss their brother and will remember him with tender affection. Heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Their gentle kindness was a great source of warmth and comfort to Mr. Howard and to us all. LAPIERRE, EDITH MAY (nee Wesley) Passed away peacefully at the Bradford Place Home, Bradford on Monday February 17th, 2003 in her 76th year. Dearly loved partner in life for 53 years of Victor. Precious mother of Linda and husband Gary Jesson of Angus, Evelyn and husband Trevor Fairchild of Owen Sound, Victor Jr., of Barrie, Sandi and husband Bob Neely of Toronto and Wendy and husband Barry Mandley of Minesing. "Nanny" will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Shannon, Stacey, Kory, Scot, Michael, Kevin, Adrian, Kelly, Victor, Alisha and Allison. Loving Great-grandmother to Kayden, Spencer, Jake and Tyler. At age eighty-three, of Windsor, Nova Scotia, formerly of Dorval, Quebec, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2003 at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on April 5, 1919, in Cleckheaton, Yorkshire, England, she was the former Nora Dorothy Carmen. She had lived in Dorval, Quebec for 35 years, before coming to Nova Scotia, five years ago. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Donald) Charbonneau, Windsor, NS; grandchildren, Marc (Svea) Charbonneau, Lower Sackville, NS; Donna (Jeff) Burgess, Shad Bay, NS; great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Charbonneau; great grandsons, Steven and Ryan Charbonneau. She was predeceased by her husband, Alan Worledge; also, three weeks ago, by her granddaughter Natalie Charbonneau. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, Nova Scotia. There will be no visitations by request. DUPUIS, Elaine Thereasa (nee Pappin) In loving memory of Elaine Thereasa Dupuis (nee Pappin), 72 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Friday afternoon, February 14th, 2003, at her residence. Born in Westmeath, she married Raymond Dupuis in 1954 in Copper Cliff. Elaine grew up in Copper Cliff. She graduated as an R.N. from Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston. She had been an addiction counsellor at the Camillus Center in Elliot Lake for 13 years, retiring in 1995. She returned to the Sudbury area in 1998. A devout Roman Catholic, she attended St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Prior to living in Elliot Lake, she had been the Housekeeper at St. Andrew the Apostle’s Rectory. Always quick to help others, she inspired many people to turn their lives around in positive ways. In reaching out she often became a trusted confidante to friends and acquaintances. She generously shared her gift of conversation and laughter with all she met. A real people person, Elaine took great pride in her home which possessed a welcoming warmth to all who entered. She was devoted to her loving family and was a loving maternal influence to her extended family. She will be remembered as an excellent cook and an accomplished knitter whose creations are treasured by family and friends., Beloved wife of Raymond Dupuis predeceased 1967. Born in Pinkney's Point, Yamouth Co., he was the youngest son of the late Rose Emma (Melanson) and Thomas Surette. He was a retired manager of I.M.O. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan Rose Holmes; son, Carl, Beaver River, Digby Co.; daughters, Marlene, Yarmouth; Brenda Muise, Melbourne; Susan (Bill) Huskins, Port Maitland, Yarmouth Co.; brothers, Donald (June), Pinkney's Point, Yarmouth Co.; Delmar (Iola), Yarmouth; Arnold (Marlene), Toronto; Christina (John) Kuzyk, Toronto; Anita (Roy) Surette, Angie McCarthy and Laura Letteney, all of Yarmouth; Betty (Herbie) Margolian, Digby; Leona (Al) Jorstad, Toronto; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by grandson, Christopher; brothers, Benjamin, Roy, Ronald, Edward and Arthur; sisters, Doris, Freida, Marion and Emily. Remains are resting in Huskilson's Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Sunday. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Melbourne, Father Gerald LeBlanc officiating. Interment in Melbourne Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

MARIE-CLAIRE (NINETTE) SABOURIN (nee FONTAINE) C'est avec serenite et paix que nous annoncons le passage de notre chere maman et memere le vendredi 14 fevrier 2003 au Centre Tache a Saint-Boniface. Elle avait 81 ans. Marie-Claire a ete precedee par son epoux Cyrille (Ti-Bob), par ses parents Philias et Delia (nee Laplante), trois soeurs Therese, Yvonne et Jeanne, quatre freres Rosaire, Emile, Edmond et l'abbe Edouard ainsi qu'une belle-soeur Mary (Emile). Elle laisse dans le deuil ses sept enfants, Real (Lise), Emile (Laurette), Arthur (Helena), Leopold (Marceline), Maurice (Janet), Jacques (Marilyn) et Lise (Lyle Sokal) ainsi que 12 petits-enfants, deux beau-grands-enfants, trois arriere petits-enfants ainsi qu'une soeur, Dolores, un frere, Daniel, et de nombreux nieces et neveux, amies et amis. Marie-Claire est nee a Saint-Boniface, MB le 19 mai 1921. Elle passe ses annees d'adolescence sur la rue Ritchot et frequente l'Academie St-Joseph. En 1946, elle rencontre un vieux veteran de 27 ans, et notre petite "fille de ville" epouse son prince charmant de St-Jean-Baptiste le 1er juillet 1946. Sept enfants plus tard et residente a St-Jean-Baptiste, Somerset et St-Malo, Ninette et Ti-Bob finalement se retirent a St-Boniface, l'ete, et a Cathedral City (Palm Springs) Californie, l'hiver, ou elle adorait son petit "trailer" pres de la piscine. Ca ne pouvait durer... En 1996 elle est frappee d'une attaque d'apoplexie qui la laisse partiellement paralysee. Par contre, elle ne perd pas son sourire, son sens d'humour, sa bonte toujours gratuite et ses voyages quotidiens via ses albums remplis de photos. Nous nous souvenons de maman quand elle accepte de "garder" son frere malade chez nous pendant 14 ans. Nous nous souvenons de maman quand elle offre notre chez-nous a notre vieille Grand-maman Fontaine pendant pres de 2 ans. Nous nous souvenons de maman, quand "d'la visite" arrivait sans s'annoncer et qu'elle pouvait preparer un repas complet (y compris le dessert) dans moins d 'une demi-heure. Nous nous souvenons de maman pour sa voix angelique, pour son amour inconditionnel, pour sa capacite de pardonner, pour son sens d'unite de la famille, pour sa volonte de tous remettre entre les mains du bon Dieu et de la Sainte Vierge. Elle etait pieuse et religieuse mais avec les pieds bien ancres dans le sol francophone du Manitoba. Maman, tu vas nous manquer. La famille desire exprimer ses remerciements et sa reconnaissance au personnel du Centre Tache ainsi qu'aux pretres et religieuses qui la visitaient frequemêment. Some 30 years and seven children later, Marie-Claire and Cyrille spend a few beautiful "retired" years in St-Boniface, enjoying the winters in Cathedral City, CA. In 1996, Marie-Claire was devastated with a stroke, leaving her partially paralyzed. Maman, we will always remember you for your sense of compassion, for your love of life, for your capacity to forgive, for your strong faith and belief in God and the Holy Virgin. We will miss you so much. The family is very appreciative of the professional care and compassion from the staff at the Centre Tache as well as the priests and sisters who visited Maman frequently. JO BOUTILIER September 4, 1930- February 14, 2003 It is with tears of joy, that we announce our Mum's ascension into Heaven to join her husband Bob, the love of her life; grandson Chris; and father Frank Davis. She is survived by mother Ivy Davis; sister Liz Julius (Brian); sister-in-law Bea Gilchrist (Fred) and childhood friend Sheila. Mum will be deeply missed by her children, Deb (Bryan), Banff, Bob (Mary-Anne), and Brent (Terri). Forever missing one of the best grandma's ever are, Kim, Jennifer, Joe, Mike, Tracy, Robyn, Ceilidh, Courtney, and Cieren. Aunty Jo will be lovingly missed by, Rick, Bunny, Kerri, Raina, Rod and Veanne. Mum was actively involved with and was a proud past President of The Women's Auxiliary of the Navy League of Canada. She worked for N.M. Patterson for a number of years before retirement. Jo will be missed by all her neighbours, who after being together for almost 50 years were also her best friends. The sumêmer nights in the gazebo were enjoyed by all and will be missed. Jo enjoyed imêmensely her time with the grandchildren, they will miss the sleep overs, card games, shopping at the dollar stores and baking with grandma. We would like to thank all Jo's care givers at St. Boniface (5E) for their compassion. A very special thank you to Fr. Gerry and his kindness to Jo. GRAHAM, Annetta (nee Baker) In loving memory of Edna "Annetta" Graham, 82 years, who passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2003 with her daughters by her side. Annetta was born in Midland, Ontario in 1920 to Wilfred and Edna Baker. the family moved to Sudbury in 1936. In 1939 Annetta met Bob, "The Boy Next Door", and after a three year courtship they married on March 25, 1942 beginning a long, happy marriage of 58 years, which was shared with their three daughters. Their wedding was the second one performed at St. Marks’ United Church and throughout her life Annetta was an active member of the Church in the U.C.W., teaching Sunday School, the Bible Study Group, and as a leader of the C.G.I.T. She was also a Girl Guide leader. Annetta and Bob took great joy in the summers they spent at the camp on Fairbanks Lake and in the times spent with their family and friends. She was a kind, loving and devoted wife and mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be fondly cherished and remembered for her gentle sweet manner. It comforts those she leaves to know she is once again in the arms of her beloved Bob and with her daughter Linda. Cherished wife of Robert (Bob) (predeceased Jan. 9, 2001). Born in Cobalt, he married Shirley (Cottrell) in 1952 in Cobalt. Eldon came to Sudbury in 1956 from Cobalt. He was a mechanic and miner with various mining contractors for many years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. An avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed family camping mostly in the Cobalt and Latchford areas. He also did some prospecting. AGNES ISABEL ANDERSON It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our mother, Isabel, in her 94th year on Feb. 14, 2003. She was born June 9, 1909 in Virden, Man. to the late Elmer and Mary Alice English. Mother’s grandparents were 1881 pioneers at Virden, where she and her sisters were raised. Although she lived in Fort Frances, Ont. for more than 60 years, Mother never lost her love of the Manitoba prairie. All through her years, she was actively involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, played the organ at services, and was a member of their Relief Society. She enjoyed gardening, baking excellent goodies for her grandchildren, and creating various crafts. She was predeceased in 1981 by our father, John Jerome (Jack), her husband of 46 years; and in 1936 by our brother, Arthur; in 1988 by her granddaughter, Sarah Alice Anderson; and in 1997 by her great-grandson, Gabriel Anderson. She also was predeceased by her sisters and their husbands, Jean (William) Gardener, Vera (John) Wolfe, Eva (George) Erickson, Loreen (Roger) Brand, and Mary (Cliff) Warner. She is lovingly honoured by her children, George and Rosa and their children, Nancy (Perfecto), Trevor (Lynne), John Inca (Tara), and David; Ross and Ann-Jane and their children, Joel (Mary), Paul, and Karl; and Boyd and Audrey and their children, Lara, Casey, and Jamee; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Honourary pallbearers are her friends from the church and her neighbours. Internment will be Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, followed with a memorial service at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
