Predeceased by his sisters, Manya Guralnick, Ella Rothenberg and Lillian Joblin. OBITUARY JOHN D'ERRICO October 21, 1922 - October 30, 2009 With profound sadness, we announce the passing of John D'Errico at eighty-seven years old, cherished husband of 64 years to Joan "Mina" D'Errico (nee Lapello), and beloved father of Dr. John D'Errico (Johanne), Ron D'Errico (Jeannine), Linda D'Errico (Michel), Robert D'Errico (Christiane), and Cynthia D'Errico (David). Also left to grieve is his brother, Tommy (Etiennette), and his sisters Bianca (Alfredo), Giulia (Bryan) and Rita (Jimmy). John leaves behind nine loving grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In 1956, John, along with his wife, Joan, founded The Broadway Paving Co. Ltd./La cie de pavage Broadway Ltee, which continues to this day. His attention to outstanding service, quality and integrity will be missed by his many colleagues and friends, both here and in Florida. OBITUARY MARIA GRASSI (nee Del Balso) 1933 - 2009 It is with profound sadness that we announce theuntimely passing of Maria Grassi, this past Saturday, October 31, 2009. She was a treasured wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Francesco, her beloved children Sabino (Clara), Pasqualina (Jim), and Antonietta (Stanley), and her cherished grandchildren (the loves of her life) Cristina, Sabrina, Francesco, Emma, Sara, Alessandra, Roberto, Tessa, and Victoria. She also leaves to mourn her brothers Giuseppe and Pasquale. Predeceased by her parents Domenico and Anna Maria, and her brothers Francesco and Michele. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her warm and generous heart, her fighting spirit and boundless optimism, her passion for gardening, and most of all, her love and devotion to family. RILLIE, Dorothy Magdalen (Kydd) Aged ninety, died peacefully at Parkland At The Lakes nursing home in Dartmouth, NS, October 31, 2009. Born in Montreal on May 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Amy and Thomas Kydd. Dorothy graduated from McGill University in 1940. She married James Alexander Rillie in 1943. She taught at schools in Montreal, Iona Elementary, Westmount and Wager until 1970. After moving to Fredericton with Jim in 1970, she enjoyed retirement, golfing, travelling and volunteering at the Fredericton hospital. Dorothy was a lively, intelligent, humorous and engaged personality. She will be missed by surviving family: children Jim (Maisie Kelland), Elaine (Stephen Crites), and grandchildren Claire and Andrew. By request there will be no funeral. The family thanks the staff at Parkland for the professional and compassionate care given to Dorothy during her stay there. DELARUE, Louie Elizabeth Louie passed away peacefully at home, on October 31, 2009 at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased by John, daughter Vicki and brother Walt. Louie is survived by her daughters Louise (Mike) Evaschesen and Pat (Murray) Frost, son in-law Vic Peters, grandchildren Jaclyn (Wayne); Donalee (Dave); Danyel (Shaun); Shari (Joel); Doug; David (Melanie), 12 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Marion, Connie (John), Dorothy and Doris; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom taught in Regina for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching sports, especially the Saskatchewan Roughriders, playing bridge and her involvement with the Rebekah Naomi Lodge. Jo (Grandma Jo) Simmons passed away November 1, 2009 after 87 wonderful years of life devoted to family, friends and her Church. Predeceased by husband Don in 1974, daughter Jo-Anne in 2003 and son Jim in 2008, she is survived by sons David (Joan) and Mark and daughters Beth, Judy (Brian) and Peggy (Darrell), son-in-law Bob and daughter-in-law Cheryl, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren (plus 1 due in December of this year) and special adopted family--Marg and Barry Hudson and their daughters and grandchildren. She was a caring wife, mother and Grandma who loved it best when the little ones were around. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary for her family and many friends--she helped keep the post office in business with her often daily mailings throughout the land. Family weddings and reunions were especially happy occasions where she could play the matriarchal role in person to her many family members. When we were young we had an already large family but Mom (and Dad) provided foster care to many. Newcomers to the Salvation Army (especially those new to town) were regular Sunday dinner visitors. There may have been a shortage of seating but never a shortage of friends. Over the last several years after moving into seniors' housing and later the Regina Lutheran Home, she had many visits from family and the many friends close to her. She also spent many hours watching her beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs. She will be missed. The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Regina Lutheran Home Unit 1 who cared for her with so much love and compassion over the past few months and Doctors Wildenboer, Williams and Gebhardt who provided their medical expertise in helping Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regina Lutheran Home or Salvation Army. A Celebration of Grandma Jo's life will be held at 1 PM at the Salvation Army Haven of Hope Church, 2012 McIntyre St in Regina on November 7, 2009. Adeline Magdalena Corraya 1910 2009 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mrs. Adeline Corraya on Wednesday, October 28th, 2009. Adeline Corraya was born in Dacca, Bangladesh on November 9th, 1910. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis, in 1934, shortly after which she embarked on a career as a nurse in the Indian Army. In February 1982 she came to Saskatoon from Dacca to live with her younger daughter and family. Mrs. Corraya dearly loved animals and impressed all who knew her with her kindness, resilience, good cheer, and steady faith. She will truly be missed. She is survived by her daughters, Sybil (Teddy) Barlow of Dacca and Gaiti (Zaheer) Alvi of Saskatoon; and by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Paul's Hospital, Royal University Hospital, Prairie Springs Care Home and Oliver Lodge for all their care and devotion. ANDERSON Douglas George Doug Anderson, born December 20, 1921 passed away quickly and peacefully on October 25, 2009. Doug is now with the love of his life Joan who passed away 10 years ago. Doug is survived by his daughter Jane Mann, son-in-law Blair, granddaughters Adrienne and Teagan and by son Ken Anderson, daughter-in-law Joan and granddaughters Keri and Jennifer. Doug and Joan were long-time residents of North Vancouver and enjoyed the company of many friends there. A few years following Joan's death Doug moved to Tsawwassen and then to Northcrest Care Centre in North Delta where he spent his last 4 years. The family would like to express our gratitude to all the staff at Northcrest for their loving care and support of Doug and his family. You are truly special. BERG Harry Siegfried Harry Siegfried Berg passed away October 29th at 2:30 pm at the young age of 48. Harry was involved in a motorcycle accident August 16th 2008 from which he never gained consciousness. He is survived by his parents, Ruth and Siegfried Berg, his brother Arnie Berg, his sister Angie Levasseur, his partner Lisa Tourigny, his two children Michael and Jessica Berg, 3 aunts, 1 uncle, 14 cousins, one niece, and 4 nephews. Harry was a great father, son, brother, partner, uncle, grumpa and friend. A Funeral Service will be held at Burnett Baptist Fellowship Church on November 9th at 10 am to Celebrate the Life he shared with all his friends and family and to share memories of this great man. DICKENSCHEID Jakob Age 77, passed away peacefully at Langley Memorial Hospice on October 30, 2009. He is survived by his, loving wife, Irmgard, sons Pierre (Anna-Marie) and Rene, and grandchildren, Jacob, Nadine, Christina, Matthew and Logan. Jakob was born in West Germany on March 25, 1932. He married his best friend, Irmgard, in 1955 and together they immigrated to Canada in 1957. Their two sons, Pierre and Rene were born in Calgary. Jakob's passions were nature, fishing, golfing and traveling around the globe. All who know him as husband, best friend, father or grandfather loved him dearly and are very saddened by his passing and will miss him immensely. The family would like to thank Dr. J. Glezos and Dr. Singh for giving such excellent care to Jakob! Many thanks also to all of Jakob and Irmgard's neighbours who helped out so much in so many ways! ARNOLD (Wyant), Dorothy Maxine - Peacefully at Bluewater Health Mitton Street Site, on Monday, November 02, 2009, Dorothy Maxine Arnold, age 85 of Sarnia, passed away. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Arnold, loving mother of Maxine and Kevin McBain of Sarnia, and loving Nana of Andrea McBain of London. Dear sister of Jacqueline Moore of Florida. Dorothy is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by granddaughter Kerra Marie McBain, sisters Madelon Weldon (Florida) and Leota Hornibrook (Sarnia), and brothers Lee Wyant (London), George Wyant (London) and Ross Wyant (Sarnia). Dorothy was active with the Sarnia VIP and loved her weekly card outings. She was also a volunteer for many years with the Sarnia chapter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Society. Dorothy resided at Vision Retirement Home for the past year, and was an active participant in their activities. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
