DOYLE, Sister Rita Mary (Sister Mary Leo) A Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON died in Pembroke Regional Hospital on the 23rd day of July, 2009 in the 77th year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, her sisters, Marie Doyle, gsic., and Margaret Hayes, her nephew, Father Donald Flynn, S.J., many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Leo James and Lillian Mary (Coyle), brothers, William, James, Tim, Albert, Leo, Frank and Edward, sisters, Elizabeth Flynn, Serena O'Leary, Teresa Doyle, gsic., Helen Doyle gsic., Marion Doyle, gsic. and Aileen Doyle, gsic. Born on March 12, 1915 in Highland Creek, she entered the Community on August 29th, 1932, pronouncing final vows on July 26th, 1937. A nurse by profession, she served in St. Patrick's Home, Ottawa, St. Anthony's Hospital, Esterhazy, SK., The Motherhouse, Pembroke, ON and in Pastoral Care at Shalom Residence, Pembroke. JANZEN, Heather Ann Deep River, Ontario on Saturday, July 25, 2009 in her 50th year. For 24 years, dearly loved wife of Dr. Victor Janzen. Devoted mother of Ryan Victor Janzen, Meghan Sarah Janzen and Emily Rose Janzen. Beloved daughter of Rosemary and the late Dr. Brian Burley; sister of Mark Burley (Susan Burley) of Calgary; Roger Burley (Sandra Robinson) of Hamilton; Rosemary Nicholson (LCol. Darrell Nicholson) of Ottawa. Unforgettable aunt to Brian, Erin and James Burley; Christopher, Rachel and Samuel Nicholson; Joshua, Jacob and Luke Riley-Janzen. Heather died peacefully at home surrounded by family and close friends after a valiant four-month battle against gall-bladder cancer. Her family would like to thank the Deep River medical community, the staff of the Ottawa General 5-East Wing, and the Ottawa Cancer Center for supporting her in her remarkable fight. Heather will be remembered for her strength of character and honesty, clear moral values, quiet but strong faith, dedication to her students and profession, outstanding musical abilities, love of physical activity, and an uncanny ability to lose her keys :). She truly believed in others and inspired a fierce loyalty in all those who knew her. Her children will also remember her tireless efforts to encourage them in their chosen pursuits and form strong family bonds. Resting at the Valley Funeral Home (33337 Highway 17, Deep River). KUMARI, Eike Hillar 1930-2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eike in St. Lazare on July 25, 2009, with his loving wife Kadi (Klaudia Kalju) of twenty-three years, holding his hand and leading him to his new journey; it was a life full of memories. He will also be sadly missed by his loving sister Lea Rainforth, his nieces and nephew and their families, his sister-in-law and her family in Sweden, his cousins in Estonia and his many close friends and neighbours here and afar, all whose lives he touched. OBITUARY MICHAELA CHARLOTTE OTTO-JACOB Died peacefully at the Providence Hospital in Magog, QC, at the age of seventy-four. Michele was the devoted wife of Carl Heinrich Otto and the loving mother of Christina Helene, Valerie Beatrice and Caroline Yvonne Elisabeth. She was loved by her sons-in-law Robert Lorne Katz, James Murphy McLain and Thomas Richard Gorman, and by her grandchildren Marcus Jacob, Luca Henry Otto, Gabriela Caroline, Madeline Michelle and Beatrice Christina. She was adored as well by her sister Friederike Jacob and loved by her brothers-in-law Arnold Kloepfer and Hubert Otto and by her sisters-in-law Brigitte von Holzing, Elisabeth Plug and Yvonne Muller-Kommerell. Michele was an accomplished artist, having studied in Munich, Paris and Montreal. She was a major contributor to art exhibitions in the Eastern Townships. As a gifted musician and soprano, Michele was a dedicated member of the famous Georgeville Occasional Choir. She was also a talented landscaper and gardener, turning the one-hundred and nine year old Otter Point into one of the most beautiful places on her beloved Lake Memphremagog. We wish to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses, caregivers and volunteers who made Michele so comfortable during the final months of her life. BARRY , Dolores (Gellings; nee Hofmann) 1930 - 2009 Dolores passed away peacefully at home in Calgary surrounded by loving family on Saturday, July 25, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband Frank. Dolores was the ninth of ten children and leaves her sister Cathleen (Carl) Amos of Calgary. Dolores is survived by her only daughter Daryl Hofmann and loving son-in-law John Donovan, granddaughters Kate and Jessica and precious great-granddaughter Saara. In 1983 Dolores retired from AGT (after thirty years of service), where she was a strong advocate for the union. She worked tirelessly to ensure that women received pension benefits from AGT. Dolores loved the prairies and after retirement she and Frank settled in Patricia, AB. Many thanks to Marilyn, Brenda and the Palliative care team. PICKERSGILL , Jack Patrick Jack Pickersgill passed away peacefully at the High River Hospital Nursing Home on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at age 84. Born in Yorkshire, England, Jack immigrated to Canada at an early age. His family settled in High River, where Jack spent the remainder of his life, actively involved in the community. Jack leaves behind his loving wife, Evelyn, sons Ken of Calgary, Glen of High River, and daughter Janice Weir (Mike) of Nanaimo. Also left behind are Jack's brother Peter (Ramona) of Vulcan, sisters Coddy Couey (Eldon) of High River, Flossie Barnett (Gerald) of Calgary, Freddie Pringle (Al) of High River, grandsons Jeff and Jamie Weir, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Jack was predeceased by his father John, mother Miriam, brother Alfred, sisters Irene McIntyre (Bob), Alice McNair (Harry), and Annie Nicholls (Albert). Music was an integral part of Jack's life. He learned the trumpet at the age of eight, played in all of the Town of High River Bands, and for various entertainers in Calgary. He was a member of the Calgary Symphony Orchestra and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and was Choir Master at St. Benedict's Anglican Church. Jack was probably best known for his dance band, Pickersgill's Orchestra, which provided countless hours of entertainment to the people of southern Alberta. Jack served in World War II in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years and became an Honourary Life Member. His music played a significant part in Remembrance Day Services held in High River and surrounding areas. Jack established his own business, Pickersgill's Men's Wear, in 1951, providing clothing for gentlemen throughout the Foothills district. He was a Town Councillor in the 1960's and worked diligently on High River's downtown urban renewal. Jack was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and his was one of the first businesses to move into Pioneer Square. Jack was a long-standing member of the High River Rotary Club, he loved nature and volunteered as the gate keeper at the Frank Lake Bird Sanctuary. Jack was first involved with the Windmill Theatre productions as a musician but soon became a cast member, often bringing laughter to the audience. Jack spent his final years in the High River Nursing Home where he was known for his ever-present smile. EGGLETON, Marjorie Lorraine (Thomas) - born in Winnipeg Manitoba on November 19, 1933 died peacefully at the Manitoba Health Sciences Centre on July 9 2009. Loving wife of Jeffery for 54 years. Proud and loving mother of Robert (Roseanne) and Christine Hatzidiakos (Peter) and grandmother of Makayla, Mitchel, Konstantinos, Hanna and Sofia. Proud Graduate of the University of Toronto (1955), she was a Physiotherapist at the Douglas Memorial Hospital from 1964. Lorraine has lived in Fort Erie since 1963 and has been active with the St. Paul's women and was a founder member of the Zonta Club of Fort Erie, and also a founder member of the Palliative Care in Fort Erie. Lorraine received volunteer service awards for the past 15 years and received the Senior of the Year award in 2005. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church. Interment to follow in St. Paul's Anglican Churchyard Cemetery. Herman Gaudreault, à l'âge de 88 ans et 10 mois et le 25 juillet 2009, Mme Marie-Paule Lebel, à l'âge de 88 ans et 3 mois, demeurant autrefois rue Lavoisier. La famille a accueillie les parents et amis à la Résidence funéraire du Saguenay 2048 de Neuville Jonquière (ancienne gare) le mardi 28 juillet 2009 de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 22 h et le mercredi 29 juillet 2009 à compter de 8 h 30. Les funérailles ont eu lieu le mercredi 29 juillet 2009 à 10 h à l'église Ste-Thérèse. L'inhumation de M. Gaudreault et de Mme Lebel a eu lieu au cimetière d'Arvida. Il était le fils de feu Mme Laura Gagnon et de feu M. Xavier Gaudreault. Elle était la fille de feu Mme Maria Dufour et de feu M. Joseph Lebel.
