Rev. Louis Van Gool Died suddenly on June 25, 2009 at the age of seventy six. Born in Utrecht, The Netherlands on June 8, 1933 to the late Louis Van Gool and the late Josepha Van den Broek. Beloved brother of Thea (Casey), Rudy (Barbara), Eddy (Christine), and Hetty (Lambert). Dear uncle to nieces and nephews, Maria, Peter, Karl, Kristoffer, Karisma, and Miranda. Dear great uncle to Alexa, Maya, Justin, Emily, Claire, Gillian and Anne-Liese. He will be dearly missed by his extended family, friends and colleagues. Father Louis was ordained to the priesthood on September 24, 1976. A series of appointments as curate followed at St. Jean Brebeuf, St. Gabriel’s, and St. John Fisher. He was also chaplain at Sacred Heart School of Montreal for more than seven years. In 1984 he was appointed pastor of Corpus Christi where he remained for eighteen years. He then served as assistant at St. Patrick’s Basilica from 2003 until retirement in 2007. Upon retirement Father Louis remained in residence at St. Patrick’s and continued to minister to God’s people. Father Louis had great devotion and love of the liturgy and especially loved to celebrate God’s mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He quietly ministered to the poor, the sick, the elderly and those on the fringes of society. Visitation in The Lady Chapel of St. Patrick’s Basilica, 454 Rene Levesque Blvd. West on Thursday, July 2, 2009 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass in St. Patrick’s Basilica on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. (Viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.) 'With knowledge we begin our journey, only with love do we reach the end.'

LEWIS, Gyan Henry “Guy“ - (1946-2009) - Beloved Husband, Father, Grand Father and Great Grand-Father, Gyan (Guy) Henry Lewis passed away suddenly in his home on his home on July 2, 2009 at the age of 62. Guy is survived by his wife of 28 years Marion (Nee James), and is predeceased by his father Guy Lewis. Guy is survived by his mother, Louise Wallworth (Alabama, U.S.A), and daughters, Cheryl (Tom) and Karen (Naurice), as well as brothers, Bobby (Carol), Jack (Karen) and sister Sharon. Guy will be greatly missed by his Grand children, Carrie (Jason), Jay (Michelle), Zachary, Kaylene, Andrew and Christopher and great-grandson Zander. VERHOEF, Mr. Michael - At his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday June 30th, 2009, Michael Verhoef of Raleigh Township in his 62nd year. Michael Verhoef was born March 18th, 1948 and was the cherished son of the late Gerald and Dorothy Verhoef. Beloved husband of Barbara (Bechard). Loving father of Crystal Verhoef and her fiancé Jack Devolder and Nicholas Verhoef and his fiancée Jessica Brown, all of Chatham. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jayden, Jordan, and JaeLynn. Also survived by several cousins and an aunt in Ireland, and many nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by his good friend Doug Turner. Michael was employed with Continental Automotive Canada Inc. for 40 years as a Lead Hand Draftsman. McCULLOCH, Donelda Blanche - Born August 12, 1925 in Euphrasia Township, Donelda was the daughter of the late Charles Luther and Blanche (née Smith) Rear. She passed away peacefully at the Meaford Hospital on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the age of 83. A longtime resident of the Beaver Valley community and Thornbury, Donelda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Allen Douglas McCulloch, in August 2008. She is lovingly remembered by her children Sharon (Jim) Lobsinger of Clarksburg, Dorothy LeClair of Collingwood, Douglas McCulloch and Marvin McCulloch both of Thornbury, and Karl (Wendy) McCulloch also of Clarksburg. Donelda was predeceased by a son Myles and she will be sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Donelda was predeceased by brothers Meryvn Rear, Everett Rear, Melville (late Eleanor) Rear, and by sisters Lenora (late Percy) Sanderson and Sadie (late Bill) Sanderson. Donelda will be remembered also as a sister-in-law of Jackie Rear of Collingwood, Ted (Dorothy) McCulloch of Brampton, Marion (late Sam) Robinson of Collingwood, Ilene (Murray) Stephens of Kitchener and Donna (late John) McCulloch of Collingwood and was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Lloyd McCulloch of Wasaga Beach. She will be remembered also by her several nieces and nephews and their families. A family service of committal and interment, conducted by Reverend Gary Parker, will take place at Thornbury- Clarksburg Union Cemetery on Friday, July 3, 2009. Born in Port Colborne Betty has lived in this area all of her life. She ran Doan's Esso in Port Colborne, worked for Tuck's Jewellers for 40 years and then worked at the Port Colborne General Hospital for 21 years as office manager from where she retired. She volunteered for the Port Colborne General Hospital Auxilliary after her retirement. Betty was a member of the Central United Church, the UCW and the Grace Rebekah Lodge, I.O.D.E. Chapter. Azilda Comeau - C'est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre mère et épouse bien-aimée, Azilda Comeau, épouse d'Emery Comeau, à l'Hôpital de Tracadie-Sheila, le jeudi 2 juillet 2009, à l'âge de 84 ans. Elle demeurait à Haut-Sheila. Née le 12 octobre 1924, elle était fille de feu Raguel Richard et de feu Vitaline Benoit. Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil trois filles: Marie-Paule (Richard Francoeur) et Fatima (Daniel Chenard), toutes deux de Bathurst et Elmona (Ronny Henry) de Dalhousie; trois fils: Rodney (Claudette) de Saumarez, Martial (Lorette) de Haut-Sheila et Donald (Joanne) de Tracadie-Sheila; une soeur, Anida (Raymond Bernard) de Saint-Jean; un frère, Léo (feu Amanda) de Saint-Pons; un frère adoptif, Robert Lavigne; une belle-soeur, Alvina (feu Alfred Richard); 13 petits-enfants: Debbie, Staphan, Tina, Jason, Kevin, Tania, Randy, Rachel, Rémi, Isabelle, Matthew, Amy et Jenna; huit arrière-petits-enfants, ainsi que plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines, filleuls et filleules. HORNE , Donald M. 1932 - 2009 It is with sadness, but pride, the Horne family announces Don conducted his last passenger train trip to Heaven June 30, 2009. He was born July 1, 1932 at Tracy, NB, the eldest son of Madeline and Gerald Horne. Don is survived by his wife of fifty years, Marilyn, son Mark (Marilou), daughter Katrina (Dan) and his two special granddaughters Mikaela and Alison Horne; two sisters Patricia Tait and Pamela (Jim) Lockwood; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Eugene and sister Deborah. Don was educated in NB, joining the CPR in Saint John, NB in 1955 with summer employment at the former CPR hotel, Chateau Lake Louise. There he met Marilyn Buck and after four years of romancing in the blue Canadian Rockies, Marilyn and Don were married in 1958 in Banff. While yearning for hometown NB, where the young couple resided for nearly two years, the mountains and the Calgary Stampede were calling them back to where their roots began. Transferring to the Calgary division of the CPR, Don worked his way up from brakeman to conductor, retiring in 1990 after thirty-five years of service. During his working career he was very involved with the UTU and AA. During his retirement years, Don enjoyed gardening, going to Florida in the winters, learning to paint, continuing to help others through AA and the Cardiac Wellness Institute of Calgary. Don was also an active member of First Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made in Don's name directly to the Canadian Cancer Society (Unit 200, 325 Manning Road N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 2P5); the Alberta Lung Association (P.O.
