OBITUARY FRANCESCO Di GENOVA 1937-2009 It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved father on June 19, 2009. He will be sadly missed by his wife Maria, his children Lino, Danny (Antonella), Mike (Silvana), and grandchildren Julian, Julia, Steven and Matthew, as well as his brother Pino and sisters in-law. Francesco began his life in Casacalenda, Italy, the oldest of 4 siblings. At the age of 17, he moved to Venzuela to follow his passion for the work he loved while supporting the family left back home. Seven years later (1963), he returned to Italy where he met and married his life long love, Maria beginning his new life in Montreal. He was loved deeply by his family and many friends and will be missed greatly, but will remain in our hearts forever. He is survived by his loving wife Carol of thirty years, his daughter Joelle and granddaughter Julia, his son Bruce Jr., sisters Keitha Parisian, Shirley (Chris) Hildebrand, Freda (Robert) Zeleniski and Monica Francis, brother Dennis, brothers-in-law Ken (Sandy) Askin, Ron (Faye) Askin, John (Lou Ann) Askin, Garry (Randi) Askin, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bruce was an avid outdoors enthusiast, with a deep passion for hunting and fishing. LIVINGSTON , Michael Francis July 10, 1966 - June 18, 2009 With love and fondest memories, we announce the passing of Michael Francis Livingston at the age of 42 years after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mike is survived by his daughter Molly and Molly's Mom, Shauna Thompson; brother Jim Livingston; sister Susan Fankhauser (Andy) as well as his niece Kelsey; and nephews; Curtis, David, Christopher, Scott, and Matthew. Mike was predeceased by his father Thomas Henry Livingston in 1987; his mother Margaret Elizabeth Livingston (nee Harrison) in 1997; and his dear sister Mary Louise Kelly (nee Livingston) in 2001. Mike was born and raised in Calgary and loved the Kananaskis area having spent several years working in the mountains. Mike greatly valued his "Kane's Harley Davidson" family and truly loved his position as parts man. It was his "dream job". Mike's sense of humour, his ability to accept others for who they are and his contagious smile and quirky raised eyebrow will be greatly missed but forever remembered. Mike's warm heart touched us all and made us feel loved and appreciated. Mike's strength of character became evident as he fought the cancer with the determination and attitude of a true hero. LAWSON , Cathrine Margaret (nee McIntosh) June 29, 1916 - June 16, 2009 Cathrine Lawson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at her home, The Manor, at Garrison Woods, Calgary, at the age of 92 years. Cathrine was born in Saskatoon, SK to Thomas George Hunter McIntosh and Laura McDonald Barker. She grew up in Winnipeg and attended Gordon Bell High School. After graduation, she worked for the Royal Bank of Canada in Montreal and Winnipeg. Cathrine joined the CWAC in 1942 and was demobilized at the end of World War II in 1945. She met and married Gordon Lawson in 1948 in Winnipeg, where they made their home and she lived most of her life there until their move to Calgary in 2001. She was an intensely private person which resulted in her being an avid reader, accomplished Sunday painter, weekend gardener and family centred mother. She loved her family and her lifelong friends and thanks to her Scottish genetics, she enjoyed exceptional physical health for her entire life. Cathie was a remarkable woman and personality who will be deeply missed by those who loved and knew her well. Cathrine is survived by a sister Alice S. Brown of Victoria; daughter Jane Lawson (Douglas Pilip) of Calgary; son James R. Lawson (Kate) of San Rafael, CA and daughter Anne Fletcher (Grant) of Kelowna; and grandchildren, Benjamin Gordon Lawson, Sophie Charlotte Lawson, Katherine Elizabeth Fletcher and Sydney Anne Fletcher. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Gordon. At her request, Cremation will take place in Calgary with Interment in Winnipeg and there will be no Service. Cathie would like her friends to remember her in their own way! A reception to celebrate her life and honour her memory will be held in Winnipeg at a later date for family and friends.
