BALDWIN, Marion Ann Florence - The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, of Marion Ann Florence Baldwin (nee Egan) of Montague, age 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Daniel Baldwin. Dear mother of James (Jean), Milton (Erma), Christopher (Wendy), Mary Louise (Eldon) McCormack, John, Lillian (Kevin) Whiteway and Gary. Survived by 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister, Kay MacDonald, Mount Stewart, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant daughter Kathleen, sisters Aletha, Winnie and Evelyn. Resting at Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home until Saturday at 10:50 a.m., then to St. Mary’s Church for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment in the St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery. HOFER, John 1944-2009 John Hofer passed away on March 23, 2009 at the age of 64 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Anita (James), Lon (Marcie), granddaughters Katherine, Victoria, Alexandra, sisters Sue, Rebecca, Lisa, Dorothy, Rachel, Sarah, Christine, brothers David, Jack, Joe and their families. His family will lay him to rest at Treesbank Colony in Manitoba. A Memorial Service will be held at Southview Alliance Church (1436 James McKevitt Road S.W.) on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. John's family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Southwood Hospice for giving John almost seven months of amazing spiritual and physical care. DANIS, Alton Horace - It is with great sorrow that the family announces Alton's passing on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. Alton passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side. Predeceased by his wife and soul mate Beverley (Vezina) Danis in January of 2008 and his best buddy Molson in January of 2009. Loving companion to Carolyn Lilly. Dear father of Jennifer Danis, father-in-law of John Fry; grandfather of Isabelle, Cassandra, Natasha, Jonathan, Lucas, Andrew, Jordan and Jessica. Alton was born in Kirkland Lake on January 31, 1955 and was the cherished son of Alcide and Nellie Danis, dear brother of Christine, Dorine (Jim) Carter, Roger (Pearl), Raymond (Shelley), Joseph (Marie) and Rob (Brenda). He will be sadly missed by his many friends and relatives. At Alton's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held on Thursday, March 19th at the Steven R. LABRÈCHE, Gaston 1933-2009 Nous avons la grande tristesse de vous annoncer le décès de Gaston Labrèche, survenu en Argentine le 17 mars 2009. Gaston était le fils de feu Rose Brien et de feu Zénon Labrèche. Notre Gaston était le mari chéri de Marcelle David et le père aimé de Pierre, Maryse, Benoît et Stéphane. Il laisse aussi dans la tristesse les conjoints de ses enfants et ses neuf petits-enfants : Paulin, Maude, Claude, Victor, Florence, Mikael, Micky, Marie-Ève et Casper. HOPEWELL, Eldon Andrew In his 92nd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Audrey (nee Marks) for over 57 years. Also survived by his son Kenneth (Erin), and daughter Anne (Joe), all of Ottawa, and by his grandsons Robert (Sarah), Shawn, Chad and Samuel of Almonte, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Walter and Arthur and by his sister Evelyn. Eldon was born on and worked the family farm at Crystal Beach for many years and was also the owner operator of Hopewell Fuels. Eldon also worked for the Carleton Board of Education for ten years. ROSS, Eleanor Jane "Mickey" (nee Crabtree) Peacefully in Toronto on March 20, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Hope Ross, devoted mother of Bonnie Wace, Sally Peterson (Gary) and Mike (Sheila). Wonderful grandmother to Ross (Sarah) and Becky Wace, Andrew (Melanie), Martha and Elizabeth Ross, and great-grandmother to Davis Wace. Mickey remained close to her siblings, Mona, Herb, and Marge, throughout their lives, and her family has fond memories of the many happy times spent with the extended Crabtree clan. Her long marriage to Joe was very happy. His loving "yes, dear" was heard many times over the years. They were a terrific team whose greatest pleasure was spending time together and with their family. Cremation has taken place. Marie Downs Falle Marie passed away peacefully at the CLSC Malauze in Matapedia, QC on March 9, 2009 at the age of 79. Born in Campbellton, NB on May 26, 1929, she was the daughter of Archibald Downs and Audrey Irvine. Marie was raised in Flatlands, NB, after moving from Campbellton with her mother and sister, Geraldine, following the accidental death of her father when she was just 2 years of age. Subsequent to her mother's remarriage, Marie had two other siblings, Alvin and Roland Craswell. During her childhood years, Marie went to school in Flatlands, attended church at St. Anthony's Parish in Glen Levit. She spent much of her spare time helping her ailing maternal grandmother from whom we believe she received her earliest training in cooking which she later turned into a 40-year career at the Toad Brook Fishing Camp where she was considered by many as one of the best cooks on the Restigouche River. Marie met her husband, William (Billy) Falle, while she was an employee at Adams' General Store In Matapedia. They were married on October 8, 1949 and raised three children together in Runnymede, QC. Marie will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her kindness and generosity, her wonderful sense of humour, and unfailing patience. She was a devoted wife, a cherished mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. Her sunny disposition was a magnet at the Falle family home where her friends and family loved to visit. She is survived by her husband Billy, her children, Allan, Walton (Linda) and Ann, her grandchildren, Jonathan (Walton), Allyson (Ann), and Joshua (Walton), her sister Geraldine (Fred Johnson), and her nieces, Sally and Cheryl Irving, who considered Marie their living mother after the passing of their mother (Marion, sister of Billy) in 1978. With fond memories, Marie also remains in the hearts of many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and sisters and brothers-in-law. Marie was predeceased by her brothers Alvin (Ida) and Roland Craswell, and her grandson Mark (Allan). The funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton, NB. The funeral service was officiated at Maher's Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 13, 2009, by Father Bill Arsenault, with hymns rendered by organist Shirley Engstrom, and soloist Leopold Richard. An honour guard was formed by The Last Chance Hockey Team of Campbellton. The honorary pallbearers were Charles Gillis, Ronald Dubé, Douglas Sharpe, Don Irvine, Charles Adams, Lewis Irvine, and Jarvis Irvine. Active pallbearers included Douglas Murray, Patrick Fitzgerald, Charlie Nicol, Randy Falle, Danny Falle and Glen Montgomery. Marie (Mum) leaves to all those whose lives she touched the legacy of her love, charity, patience, and kindness. Interment will be at the Dawsonville Cemetery in the spring. Donations were accepted with great appreciation in Marie's memory to The Alzheimer Society of Canada and The Canadian Cancer Society. The Falle family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for all condolences expressed by family and friends, and for all acts of kindness received, including donations, cards, flowers, food, e-mails, and telephone calls. deBLICQUY, Lorna Vivian (nee Bray) CM, O.Ont. Peacefully at the age of 77 on Saturday, March 21, 2009 in Beaverton. Born in Blyth, ON, Lorna learned to fly in Ottawa at age 14 beginning a long, rewarding and illustrious career in aviation. As Canada's first female civil aviation inspector she broke many barriers for women in non-traditional careers. Lorna was a remarkable woman who embraced life on her own terms. She will be missed by her loving daughter Elaine (Brad) of Uxbridge and dear sister Phyllis Thatcher of Ottawa. According to Lorna's wishes no service will be held. Florine (Birdie) Doucette Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on March 18, 2009 at he age of 71. Born in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Florence Doucette. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Clarence Hickey, her sisters Connie (Nick) LeBlanc of McLeods, Inga Anderson of Campbellton and her brothers Jerome Doucette of Lincoln, NB, Ronald (Mary) Doucette of Holland Centre, Ontario, John Edward (Rachelle) Doucette of Val Belair, Quebec and Leo Doucette of Campbellton. She is also survived by her step-children Raymond Hickey, Kenny Hickey, Clare Shalala, Bonnie Sampson, Arlene Hickey, Sally Hickey and Karen Thompson and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Doucette, her brother Kenneth Doucette and her stepson Bobby Hickey. The funeral mass was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Campbellton on Saturday, March 21, 2009. Father Bill Arseneault officiating. Edwidge Boutot A l'Hôpital régional d'Edmundston, le 18 mars 2009, à l'âge de 87 ans et 10 mois, est décédée Edwidge Boutot, domiciliée au Foyer Agathe de Ste-Anne, épouse de feu Elie Damboise. Mme Damboise était membre des Filles d'Isabelle de Ste-Anne, des Dames de Ste-Anne et du Club d'âge d'or de Ste-Anne. Elle laisse dans le deuil son frère : Rosaire Boutot, de Van Buren, Maine, et sa soeur : Bernise Doiron, de Ste-Anne. Ses funérailles ont eu lieu le samedi 21 mars, à 11 heures, en l'église de Ste-Anne, et l'inhumation au cimetière paroissial. Le père Joseph Numbi Phaku Mavambu présidait aux cérémonies. Les porteurs étaient Brian Desrosiers, Raoul Doiron, Robert Laforge, Richard Sirois, François Gagnon et Mario Gagnon. La quête a été faite par Monique Boutot et Emérentienne Moreau et les cartes ont été distribuées par Denise Sirois et Madeleine Martin. Marie-Pier Deschênes A Edmundston, N.B., le 17 mars 2009, à l'âge de 14 ans, est décédée Marie-Pier Deschênes, domiciliée à Edmundston. Elle était la fille de Robert Deschênes et Sylvie Veilleux. Outre ses parents, elle laisse dans le deuil sa soeur : Alexandra, d'Edmundston, de même que ses grands-parents : Jean-Claude et Anne-Marie Deschênes et Gilles et Ghislaine Veilleux. Ses funérailles ont eu lieu le vendredi 20 mars, à 16 heures, en l'église Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs, et l'inhumation au cimetière paroissial. Le père Roger Dionne présidait aux cérémonies, assisté du père Ghislain Rémillard. Mrs. Ada Marie Irving, widow of the late Jotham Blanchard Irving of Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, formerly of Millbank passed away Wednesday evening, March 18th, 2009 at Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, at the age of 83. Born in Douglastown, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jean Sarah (Dick) Johnstone. She was a retired telephone operator for C.F.B., Chatham. She was a member of Bethel United Church and the UCW. She is survived by one daughter; Mrs. Joanne Kelly (Tony) of Beckley West Virginia; one son, Andrew Irving of Miramichi; two sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Gillis (Fred) of Millbank, Mrs. Margaret Clark (David) of Miramichi; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Jessiman and Jean O'Donnell; four brothers, Charles, Fred, Gilbert and Irvine. Mrs. Ada Marie Irving rested at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, with visitation Thursday evening from 7 to 9. The Funeral Service was held Friday, March 20th, 2009, at 2 pm, from Davidson's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. J.D. Kennedy officiating. Organist Shirley Estey led the congregation in "In the Garden", "Rock of Ages" and "Just As I Am". Special memories were shared by her son Andrew and her son-in-law Tony. Burial will be in Moorefield Cemetery in the spring. At the request of the family donations to Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, would be appreciated. Mr. Elmo Robichaud of St. Margaret's, NB., passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on March 21st at the age of 69. Born in Pointe Sapin he was the son of the late Onesime and Gertrude Robichaud, He was a welder by trade and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Elmo is survived by his wife Rose Marie, four daughters: Janice (Michael) of Miramichi, Charline (Billy) of Clarks Corner, Rachel (Chris) of Miramichi and Paula (Brad) of Waasis, and four grandchildren, Jessica, Amber, Eric and Wyatt. He is also survived by four brothers Lionel of St Louis, Norbert (Anne Marie) of Lowe, P.Q, Jean Baptiste (Bernice) of Point Sapin, Hilaire (Simone) of Quispamsis, two sisters Vanilda of St Louis and Fernande (Miles) of Fredericton and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by four brothers, Everett, Arthur, Eloi and Onesime and sister Lydia. Mr. Elmo Robichaud rested at Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi on Monday March 23rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday March 24th at 11am from St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church in St. Margaret's with Fr John Fraser officiating. Active Pallbearers were Valerie Robichaud, Gilles Robichaud, Daniel Robichaud, Jamie Carpenter, Fernand Babineau and Roland Babineau. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Dunn, Dale Flynn, Kenny Cook, Melvin Munn, Floyd Hallihan, William Holland, Leo Flynn, David Cook and Bernie Cook.
