AGNEW, Linda Mae - Passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie ON, on Wednesday, March 11th, 2009 in her 63rd year. Robert Lloyd Forrest, husband of Shirley Forrest, of Heritage Acres, Miramichi, passed away at his residence, lovingly surrounded by his family, on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at the age of 76, following a lengthy illness. Born in Napan, on May 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Arnold and Claire (Jardine) Forrest. He was a retired employee of the Dept. of National Defense, at the former CFB Chatham. He attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi. He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley LeBreton; three daughters, Triena Russell, of Halifax, N.S., Dana Murphy (Edward), of Saint John, Tanya Dickson (Kevin), of Napan; two sons, Darrell McDermaid (Donna), of Miramichi and Robert Forrest Jr., of Moncton; three sisters, Faye Williston (Max), of Miramichi, Anna MacDonald (Robert), of Montreal, Que., Ruby Forrest, of Moncton; two brothers, Arthur Forrest (Mary), of Montreal, Que., Lyle Forrest, of Calgary, Alta; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ted and Douglas Forrest. Visiting was at the funeral home on Monday, with vigil prayers at 1:45 on Monday afternoon at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 10 am, conducted by Father Peter Bagley, assisted by Father John Fraser and Father Leon Creamer. The scripture readings were given by Keely Murphy and Cory Russell. The Prayers Of The Faithful were led by Karen McCrae. Hymns for the Mass were "Tell Out My Soul", "Here I Am Lord", "Gentle Woman" and the recessional hymn was "How Great Thou Art". The honorary pallbearers were Joseph Reynolds, Blake Dickson, Ronnie Douglas, Leona Isiah, Mary Ellen McNulty, Ralph Jardine. The active pallbearers were Kenny Flynn, Chris Dignam, Earl Daley, Mark Kelly, Mack Williston, Dave Manuel, Greg McNulty, Lee Hanson. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, later in the spring. FLETCHER, Percy - Peacefully at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre on Wednesday, March 11th, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Helen Fletcher (1995). Percy was born in Sheffield, England, he died at the age of 95. Mourning his loss are his children Norreen Malone (Michael), Douglas (Carol), Linda Conrod (J.J.) and his grandchildren: Richard Malone, Elizabeth Cronk, Nancy Foxall, Michael Schaeffer, David Baker, Lori Dawson, Kelly Malone, Carolyn Atfield, Jeffery Atfield, Michael Fletcher, Craig Fletcher, and Susan Fletcher. Percy also leaves 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Anita Schaeffer (2005), granddaughter Pamela Fletcher (1975) and son-in-law Earl Schaeffer (1980). Percy served as a Chief Petty Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1943-1946 and was instrumental in helping to found the Army, Navy & Air Force Club. He was a member of the Brant Artillery Club, the Navy Club and a 60 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 90. He was employed at Cockshutt Plow Co. (White Farm Equipment) for more than 40 years and was a successful businessman who owned and operated “Fletcher's for Flowers“ and Brant Pet Supplies. Percy was known for his wit and love of singing. For many years he was a member of the Cockshutt Male Choir. Over the years, he amused and entertained family and friends with his various vocal renditions, especially his grandchildren who loved to hear the songs he made up about them. He will be missed. BOYLE, Philip 1949 - 2009 After a courageous two-year battle with cancer, Phil died peacefully on Friday, March 6, at the age of sixty. He was predeceased by his parents Emmett and Mary Boyle, and his brother Marty. He leaves to mourn his partner Sharon Fingzies, his sister Joann (Heinz Brues), his brothers Brian (Nelly Massad) and Hugh (Brenda Larivee). BENSON, Donald Eugene Donald Eugene Benson passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer, on March 11, 2009 at the age of 62 years. Don is lovingly remembered by Joyce, his wife of forty-one years; son Stephen (Tyne) Benson; daughter Erin Steiner; grandson Ethan Steiner; brother Chuck (Patti) Benson of Edmonton; sister Shirley Benson of Vegreville; mother-in-law Muriel Agnes Bennett of Athabasca, AB. He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Tom (Dott) Benson, mother Helen (George) Cable, and father-in-law Gordon Bennett. Don's family was very important to him. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling, especially with his family. ESHLEMAN, Tori (nee Fyfe) 1970 - 2009 It is with profound sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Tori Eshleman on March 9, 2009 in Terrace, BC. Tori will be lovingly remembered by her husband of twenty years Don, her daughter Kasee, and her two sons Brady and Tekoa. Tori was born in Calgary, Alberta on June 15, 1970. She was predeceased by her mom Charlene Adamson (nee Medhurst). Tori will also be missed by her dad, Bill Fyfe, along with three sisters, Bonnie Fyfe, Billie-Jo Malyk, Sherry Richardson, and their families. Tori leaves to mourn many other family and friends. Tori will be forever missed but her spirit lives on in those who knew and loved her. She was an extraordinary person who cared deeply for her family and always went out of her way to help others. Their house forever full of the animals she rescued. She spent her career in areas of law, social services and ministry but her true love was always her kids. LOWICK, Patricia J.C. October 19, 1912 - March 9, 2009 Patricia Lowick passed away on March 9, 2009, after a brief illness, at the age of 96 years. Patricia is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ward of Victoria, B.C. and Leigh (Gary) Benz of Clermont, Florida; one son, Murray (Diana) Lowick of Calgary; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Patricia was born in Strathmore, AB, and spent her youth in southern Alberta until moving to Vancouver as a young adult. She returned to Calgary in 1958 where she remained until her death. Patricia was a loving and devoted wife, and a loyal friend to many throughout the years. Patricia enjoyed her family tremendously and always looked forward to being with family members whenever possible. The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful and caring staff at Eau Claire Retirement Residence, Unit 102 of the Foothills Medical Centre and especially the Agape Hospice who worked so diligently to make her final days comfortable. CLIFF, Lorne P. - In loving memory of Lorne P. Cliff, 78 years, who passed away Thursday, March 12th, 2009 at the SRH - St. Joseph's Health Centre. Lorne was born in Sudbury and married Vera (Guse) in 1952 in Sudbury. Lorne had worked at Bell Canada for 40 years retiring in 1991. He had been an active member of the Bell Pioneers helping many worthy causes. Lorne was a man of great faith actively participating in the ministries and fellowship of St. James In the Valley United Church. He also had been a presbytery delegate for several years. Always a man of action, Lorne embraced life and lived it to the fullest. In younger days he had been a coach and volunteer with minor hockey. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and canoeing. He was an outstanding volunteer with the CNIB repairing the talking books for the visually impaired. He was devoted to his loving family. Lorne can echo the words of St. Paul when he wrote — I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. God bless Lorne until we meet again. BREATON, Clarence Alfred - age 80 of Dresden passed away Wednesday March 11, 2009 at Park St. Place Residence, Dresden. He was born in Dresden son of the late Clarence and Loretta (Labadie) Breaton. Clarence served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1953 to 1978. After retiring from the armed forces he drove school bus for Badder Bus Lines for many years. He was a life member and former secretary of the Canadian Legion Br. 113 Dresden. His loving wife Audrey (Bresett) Breaton predeceased in March 2005. Devoted father of Deb and husband Al McFadden of Dresden, Brad Breaton of Chatham. Loving grandpa of Jesstina, Caleb and Luke. Also surviving are two sisters: Mary Anderson of Wallaceburg and Helen Labadie of Chatham. Predeceased by brothers: Charles “Bus”, Gord, Bill and Ron Breaton. Visitors will be received at the THOMAS L. Everett Clow, Montague At the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, of Everett “Roy” Clow of Montague, age 92 years. Husband of the late Margaret Clow (nee Carrigan). Dear father of Paulette (John) Edwards, Dartmouth; Judy (Everett) Gormley, St. Mary's Road; Doug, Montague; Jamie (Shirley), Ottawa; Elizabeth (Dan) Desjardins, Ontario; and Darlene (Mike), Montague. Loving grandfather of eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Evelyn Price. Predeceased by his brothers, Jack, Stanley, Ed, and sisters, Mary Clow, Lucy Lowery and Barbara Clow. Resting at Ferguson's Montague Funeral Home from where the service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment in the Murray Harbour North Cemetery. LAU, Keviin 2009-03-13 It is with much sadness that the family of Kevin Lau announces his passing after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Kevin was a loving husband to his wife Alice for 35 years. Together they worked in their garden, traveled extensively and danced everywhere they went. His pride and joy were his two sons, Alvin and Jason. Throughout the years Kevin could be found at baseball and hockey games, at swim meets and at their musical endeavours. Always cheering on from the sidelines, Kevin was a dedicated father who never failed to demonstrate his love for his boys. He enjoyed his life to the fullest whether it was work or play. Before his retirement he worked for the Ministry of Transportation for 27 years. He found personal joy in curling, tennis, swimming and Tai Chi. He was actively involved in the Thunder Bay Chinese Association since its inception and he served on the board until his illness. He will be greatly missed by his wife Alice and his sons Alvin (Becky), and Jason (Emily). As the third youngest of 12, Kevin will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters throughout the world. A memorial service will be held in St. Dominic‘s Roman Catholic Church on Redwood Avenue at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2009. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Thunder Bay chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society. PAQUETTE, Frère Philippe, C.S.V. 1926 - 2009 Le frère Philippe Paquette, clerc de Saint-Viateur, est décédé à l'hôpital de Joliette le 11 mars 2009, à l'âge de 82 ans, dans sa 63e année de profession religieuse. Né à Montréal le 17 septembre 1926, le frère Paquette a prononcé ses premiers voeux le 15 août 1946. Après trois ans d'études à l'École normale de Rigaud, il entreprend une longue carrière au service des sourds-muets à l'Institution du boulevard Saint-Laurent où il oeuvra de 1949 à 1984. Durant ces années, on lui a confié diverses responsabilités: enseignement des petits, cinéma, surveillance, discipline, éducateur de groupe, chef d'unité de réadaptation. En 1984, il se joint à l'équipe du Centre 7400 et collabore à plusieurs services communautaires. En 2004, il quitte la maison où il avait vécu 55 ans et se rend au Centre Champagneur de Joliette. Outre sa famille religieuse, le frère Paquette laisse dans le deuil sa soeur Fabiola (Bernard La Boissière), sa belle-soeur Marie Paquette ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Le frère Philippe Paquette sera exposé à la : Résidence Louis-Querbes 450, avenue Querbes, Outremont 514-274-3624 le vendredi 13 mars, de 14 h à 17 h et de 19h à 21 h. Beloved wife of the late Daniel Quinlan. Loving mother of Gerald “Gerry“ (wife Diana) of Azilda, Joan Landry predeceased (husband Richard) of Azilda, Robert (fiancé Lorraine) of Sudbury, Timothy “Tim“ (wife Christine) of Sault Ste. Marie and Keith predeceased. Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Dear sister-in-law of Bernice and Simone. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Sudbury on January 16th, 1917, She was the daughter of the late Simeon and Marguerite (Spencer) Rochette. A devout Catholic who was a member of the C.W.L. (Holy Trinity) and in her later years attended Christ the King Church. A very spiritual person who believed in helping others whether it was volunteering with the Red Cross and at the soup kitchen. She enjoyed going to bingo and socializing with friends. Marguerite devoted her life to her family and was very proud of all their accomplishments She leaves a rich legacy of love, devotion and faith and will be sadly missed by all.
