DRAGO, Angeline - 1919 - 2008 Angeline has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday December 31, 2008 at age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Drago in 1980. Loving mother of Sharon Morin (Don) of Timmins and Robert Drago (Sharon) of Whitby, beloved grandmother of Marc Ott (Michelle) of Florida and Natalie Drago of Oshawa and dear great-grandmother of Hailey, Paige and Aubrey Ott of Florida. NEUFELD, Peter - At his home in Ballantrae, ON, after a courageous battle with cancer, Peter Neufeld passed away on January 5, 2009 at the age of 71. Dearly beloved husband for 50 years of Anne Neufeld, loving father of Lorraine and husband Gordon Gilbert, Judy and husband Joe Pali, and Peter and wife Terri Neufeld. Survived by sisters Margaret Steingart (Frank) and Betty Penner, and by brother Cornelius Neufeld (Irma). Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Gertrude, and by his sister Lena Litke (Art) and brother-in-law Ernie Penner. He will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren,. Peter's zest for life, infectious laugh, warmth and kindness had an impact on everyone who knew him. He was a role model and inspiration for many throughout his career at H.J. Heinz Company, where he retired as vice- president of sales in 1993 after 32 years of service. His compassion and caring were evident in his tireless work on behalf of the people of Igoma, Tanzania, where he led the development of a humanitarian organization providing medical and educational services. CAMPBELL, Mary Magdalen Peacefully on Thursday December 4th, 2008, in her 99th year. She will be greatly missed by her niece and nephews; Margaret Campbell and Malcolm Campbell of Massachusetts, John Campbell of New Hampshire and Donald Campbell of California and their families. Predeceased by parents John Campbell and Christina MacLellen of Red Point PEI; and brothers and sisters, Donald of Massachusetts, Herbert of New Brunswick, Francis and Albert of PEI, and Helen and Kenneth of Ottawa. Born and raised at Red Point PEI, Miss Campbell moved to Ottawa and began a career in the Treasury Office at the Department of National Defense. Though Miss Campbell maintained a challenging career and lived an independent life she was always fiercely loyal to family. Miss Campbell will be most remembered for her determined attitude, kindness and generosity. SUDDS, Eric. Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Eric Sudds at the age of eighty-one. Eric was born June 9, 1927 in Montreal, Quebec. He was a member of the Highland Light Infantry and served his country in WWII overseas where he was in the first wave of soldiers liberating Holland. After the war he married Marjorie Turner and they had fifty-eight years together before her passing. Last year he married Joyce O'Neill, who brought happiness to his last year of life. Eric was predeceased by his parents Isabella and Herbert Sudds, and by nine of his brothers and sisters, and his grandson Jeremy. He was the beloved father of Linda and her husband David Janzen, Carolyn and her husband James Watt, and Peter and his wife Laurie. Poppa will be greatly missed by Jodie and her husband Peter Hauck, Morgan Watt, Patrick and his wife Heather Watt, Jennifer Sudds and Eric Sudds, as well as by his great-grandchildren Marissa, Alexander and Natalie Hauck. Joyce's children Sean, Marion, Peggy, D'Arcy, Theresa and Gerald and their families will miss him as well, as they accepted him happily into their family. BEATTIE, (nee McKay) Catherine I. Jean February 17, 1916 - December 30, 2008 Our family announces the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Catherine "Kay". Although we are saddened by our loss, we are grateful for the many years we shared with her and rejoice that she is now reunited with her loving husband, Charles Gordon Beattie, who predeceased her on December 23, 1977. Catherine was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother to Marilynn (Raymond) Poffenroth and their three sons: Russell (Brenda), Craig and Trevor (Annette); Roger (Susan) Beattie and their three sons: Michael (Erin), Christopher (Rhonda) and Jeffrey (Nicole); Carol (Gregory) Hagel and their children, Bradley and Michelle. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren: Dayne, Scott, Ashley, Jager and Slater Poffenroth; and Jordan, Madison, Brynn and Teagan Beattie. A private family Interment will be held. GIBSON, Beverley Joyce November 16, 1933 - January 1, 2009 Joyce Gibson passed away peacefully at Lacombe General Hospital in the early hours of January 1, 2009 at the age of 75 years. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and just recently Great-Grandmother. She was always more concerned about others and always ready to crack a joke or say just the right thing to cheer someone else up and for that she will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. She is survived by her loving children, sons, Bill (Lorna) and Jim (Sandy), and daughter Susan, granddaughters, Megan (Rob), Angie (Kurtis) and Maryellen, grandsons, Stephen (Elyssa) and Andrew and great-grandson Alexander. The family would like to thank the Lacombe Hospital and Lacombe Palliative Care Foundation and the staff and Doctors in Unit 47 at the Tom Baker Center in Calgary for their devoted and loving care of Joyce during her courageous battle with cancer these past three months. PERRY, Mona March 18, 1939 - January 4, 2009 Mona Perry of Penticton, BC (formerly of Calgary, AB) passed away peacefully after a brave battle with cancer. Mona was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Her sense of humour and warm heart will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. Mona is survived by her husband Bob, her children Colin (and Sherry), Neil (and Rosane), Lynn (Tino), Kim (Trevor) and Trent (Michele), twelve grandchildren, her mother, brothers and sisters and many other family members. A celebration of Mona's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Ascension Roman Catholic Parish, 1100 Berkshire Boulevard N.W., Calgary, Alberta. STOGRE, Annie (Ann) Ann Stogre died peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre on December 26, 2008 at the age of 95. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Shirley (Carl) Berdahl, Ghost Lake, AB, Myrna (Jim) Brandenburg, Betty (Dick) Lavers, Richard (Carole) Stogre, Debbie (Harold) Perrin and Lori (Clark) Reid, all of Calgary; her eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Steve Andruik of Vegreville, AB. She was predeceased by her husband Harry. Ann was born on January 17, 1913 in Shandro, Alberta, the youngest daughter of eight children. Ann married Harry Stogre on February 28, 1935 at her father's homestead in Shandro. During their fifty-eight years of marriage, they raised six children and resided in Calgary for fifty-three years. Ann was a kind and loving mother who doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by them all. The family wish to thank Dr. Aufricht and Dr. Leung and the nursing staff of Foothills Unit 62 for their care and compassion. A Funeral Service will be held at Foothills Lutheran Church (3104 - 34 Avenue N.W.) on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Laverne Hautz officiating. SUSINSKI, Dora Ann (nee Pitchko) July 23, 1930 - December 28, 2008 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Dora Ann Susinski announces her unexpected passing at the age of 78 years, in her Calgary home, on December 28, 2008. Dora was born on July 23, 1930 in Dana, Saskatchewan. She married the man of her dreams, Gregory, on November 8, 1955. Dora and Greg made their home in Calgary, Alberta and were blessed with two sons, David and Gordon. Dora was very proud of her sons and their accomplishments; having watched them grow, marry and become successful. She was a wonderful grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, laughing and spoiling them. To know Dora was to love her spirit and her laughter that enchanted those around her. Her loving smile, funny stories, and nurturing ways will be missed. She had a way of making everyone feel appreciated and special. Dora was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful grandmother and dear friend to many. The loss of Dora is profound and there will always be a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving sons, David (Kim), Gordon (Diane), grandchildren, Kaitlin and Gregory, her sisters, Olga and Ann, brothers, Victor and George, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dora was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-two years, Greg, who passed in February of 2007, her parents, brothers, Nick (infant in 1934), Johnny (1969), Peter (1999), Andrew (2004) and sister Mary (1982). TROTTER, Carol Elizabeth (Gillies) 1956 - 2009 Carol passed away suddenly from a medical condition on January 3, 2009, leaving those who loved her shocked and deeply saddened. Many mourn her. Her husband Dan Trotter and children Kelly and Beau, who cherish a wonderful, loving, caring wife and Mom. She was a joyful daughter to Elizabeth and shining light in the lives of her two brothers Scott and Gord. She quickly became the same with the Trotter family when she married the love of her life in Dan. Carol grew up in southwest Calgary where her constant smile and outgoing personality made it impossible not to like her. She just had it all. But it was her kindness and caring that made you love her. She graduated from Viscount Bennett in 1974 and went on to become a flight attendant for Wardair, which enabled her to see the world. It was while based in Toronto that a chance encounter with her high school crush, would lead to a magical life together in BC. The Trotter home and acreage in Summerland was Grand Central Station for family and friends. A gathering place for celebrations, birthdays, and legendary Easter egg hunts. Everyone was welcome, there was always room to crash, and it was constantly filled with laughter. Carol was the ringmaster of a home that was always growing. Her love for animals would lead to the funniest conversations: "You've got to get out here - we've adopted a Llama!" You just never knew what you would find each visit and you could not help but get swept up in her enthusiasm. She seemed constantly on the lookout to do things that would bring joy into the world. Carol loved her life in BC and was always volunteering in the community to make it a better place. She made many special friends everywhere she went. Only Carol could pull off having a shrine to her beloved Calgary Flames prominently displayed at work, deep in the heart of Vancouver Canuck country. Carol was completely dedicated to family. She put on a million miles driving up and down the Okanagan for hockey, soccer or baseball games. Kelly and Beau were her life and she loved every minute of it. She was so proud of them. She walked a million miles hand in hand with Dan as they toured their property and lived their dreams. We are all truly stunned with her untimely death. It just does not seem possible. She was such a positive presence in all our lives. Deep down we know the great pain we struggle with today, is just another expression of the powerful and undying love we share for a very special woman. Our Carol. VANDENHOUDT, Anne Cornelia Maria (nee Coolen) December 2, 1930 - January 4, 2009 Anne Cornelia Maria (nee Coolen) passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2009, at the Chinook Hospice. Anne was born in Tilburg, Holland, on December 2, 1930. She immigrated to Canada in 1952, resided in Calgary with her husband Joe and together they raised two children. Anne was predeceased by her husband Joe, both her parents, and numerous brothers and sisters. Anne leaves behind two loving children, Fran McKnight and Ron (Diana) Vandenhoudt. She also leaves behind four treasured grandchildren, Elianne, Brant, Derek, and Chanel; her beloved sister Helen (Leny) Mace; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private Services were held.
