Dear sister of Yvette Décosse (late Victor) of Blezard Valley, Raymond Lamontagne (late Aieleen), Thérèse Gauthier (late Phillipe) and Lucille Lalonde (Gordon Boston) all of Sudbury, Lucien “Jack“ Lamontagne (Marie) of St-Charles and Annette Savoie (late Larry) of Montréal. Predeceased by her brother Maurice Lamontagne. MOUNTAIN, George, (WW II Veteran) - Of Belleville, passed away at the Belmont Long Term Care Facility, on Saturday, November 15, in his 90th year. Son of the late Mary and Arthur Mountain. Dearly loved husband of Mildred (nee Anderson), and loving father of Lynne Powell, of Belleville. Proud 'Poppi' to Emily and Melissa Powell. Survived by one brother, Arthur (Kay) of Brooklin, Ontario. And by brother-in-law Johnny Woloshyn. Predeceased by one sister, Elsie Woloshyn. Mr. Mountain is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was Past Master of Temple Lodge 666, and Member of Rose of Sharon, Chapter Rose Croix. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Steele Funeral home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273). Visitation Tuesday, November 18th, 7:30 to 9 pm, and Wednesday, November 19th, 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the Steele Moira Street Chapel on Wednesday, at 1:00 PM. SABLATASH, Dr. Michael Dr. Mike Sablatash passed away suddenly at home, Wednesday, November 13, 2008. Born in Saskatchewan, Mike spent most of his childhood in the Inwood Manitoba area, and graduated from the University of Manitoba, before moving to Ottawa, to begin work with Bell Northern. It was during this time that he met his future wife Sophie (nee Dmyterko). After the birth of their first two children, the family moved to Madison, Wisconson, where Mike completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering. Following the birth of their third child, the family moved to Toronto where Mike taught at the University of Toronto. Tragically, Sophie and son Loren were killed in a car accident three years later. Mike and his two surviving daughters then moved to Ottawa, where Mike began work with the National Energy Board, later transferring to the Canada Communications Board where he attained the position of Research Scientist 4. Mike is survived by daughters Tania Sablatash (Kirk R. Miles) and Lisa Dillon (Ed), and by four grandchildren Jason, Shane, Amanda, and Grace. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa, at 30 Cleary Ave., with a small reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will be in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, at a later date. ANDERSON, Helen November 4, 1919 - November 14, 2008 Helen Anderson, beloved wife of Mr. Carl Anderson of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Forest Grove Care Centre on November 14, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Myroslav (Irene) Kulyk of Medicine Hat, AB, Nestor (Phyllis) Kulyk of Calgary, AB, and Evhyn Kulyk of Oyen, AB; her aunt, Florence Kulyk of Oyen, AB, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by one sister and four brothers. Helen was born and raised in Capper, AB, on the family farm. She received her teachers certificate and taught grades one to ten for over forty years. She met Carl Anderson and the couple were married over fifty-three years ago. Helen loved sports, especially bowling and curling and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed. ROSCIOLI, Antonio May 20, 1928 - November 15, 2008 Antonio Roscioli, beloved husband of Teresa Roscioli of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Antonio was born May 20, 1928 in Teramo, Italy. He married Teresa on January 6, 1957 and came to Calgary on July 15, 1962. Antonio worked for many years in the construction industry, retiring from Centcom Construction on May 20, 1993. Antonio's greatest passions were to work in his garden, make his own wine and socialize with his neighbours. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, and cherished the times spent with his family and friends. Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Teresa; daughter, Ersilia and her children, Lia and Robert; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jewel Roscioli; sister, Iolanda, of Kelowna, BC; brothers, Victorio (Aldina), of Teramo, Italy and Gaetano (Antonieta); as well as many nieces and nephews. BARNES, Linda (nee Bloxham) October 20, 1950 November 10, 2008 Linda passed away suddenly in her home on November 10, 2008. Linda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 13 years Sandy (James), her best friends and forever loving daughters Robyn (Rob Parker), Lindsay and Hayley (Ryan Wilson) and Sandy's loving children Shawn, Cindy (Ron Lang), Jenny and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her sister Janet, her mother Holly Diane and predeceased by her father James. Linda moved to Victoria from the mainland with her three girls in 1989; it was time for a change. In 1990 Linda began working with Waddell & Raponi which shortly became a second family to her; thank you to all at the firm who touched her life. In 1995 Linda met and fell in love with her Pookie, her Knight in Shining Armor; and it was their love together that brought everyone around them closer, creating bonds of family and everlasting friendships. Linda's world revolved around her beautiful grandchildren; they may not have had the opportunity to know her like you and I, but they all know how much she loved them. He was predeceased by father Douglas and special friend Glenda Raiwet. Jeff was born and raised in Gainsborough, SK. He spent the majority of his life working in the oil industry and at the time of passing was residing in Weyburn and drilling with Ensign (Big Sky) on Rig 44. Jeff will be fondly remembered as an avid outdoorsman, spending a large part of his free time hunting, fishing and golfing. JACOBY-Bonnie (Bernice) Hazel passed away peacefully at Helping Hands Care Home on November 15th, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Bonnie was born on July 18th, 1921, at Windthorst, Saskatchewan to parents Doctor Thomas and Mazae Argue. Bonnie was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend of 60 years, Franz, and her sister, Marguerite. She is lovingly remembered by her five sons George, Paul (Rita), Neil (Karen), Ray (Nancy) and John, along with her six grandchildren Stephane, Matthew, Michael and Karen, and Luke and Jane. Bonnie is also survived by her older sister, Isabell. After completing high school in Fillmore, Bonnie went on to attend Regina College and then Normal School receiving her teaching certificate. In 1940 she started teaching at Winmore rural school, south of Gainsborough, before moving to Fillmore where she taught until coming to Regina in 1943. Her next two years were spent teaching at Imperial and Albert schools. Bonnie stayed in touch with her many teaching friends through a group known as the Secret Eight. In 1943 she met Franz, the love of her life. They were married in 1945 and lived 60 wonderful years together in Regina. They shared the happiness of their five sons, grandchildren and many wonderful experiences of travel around the world and in Canada. Bonnie was a member of Lakeview United Church since 1950 where she taught Sunday School and served on various committees. Mom had a long and active life with her greatest interest and love being her family. She was a life member of the Lakeshore Tennis Club, a member of the Regina Golf Club for over 30 years and also a member of the Caledonian Curling Club. Bonnie not only had a passion to participate, but the patience and devotion to teach her children and others the sports she so loved. She was equally passionate as a spectator and a huge fan of the SheldonWilliams Spartans watching her children and grandchildren participate in many sports for over fifteen years. The many summers of family vacations to tennis tournaments and, many years later, Christmases together in Palm Springs will be cherished by all family and friends who shared these times. The family would like to give special thanks to Doctor Stephen Bester and all the wonderful care givers at Helping Hands Care Home for their loving care and support. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue, Regina on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. HUNTER - WILSON, Edna Margaret (nee Langeland) January 22, 1914 - November 13, 2008 Edna Margaret Hunter of Calgary passed away on November 13, 2008 at the age of 94 years. Edna was born on January 22, 1914 in Milnor, North Dakota. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose for over fifty years, and a member of the Go-Getters band and Choir. Edna loved music and was an accomplished musician. She could play the organ, piano, accordion and violin. Edna also loved to play cards and games with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking and made the best apple pies without question. Edna always cherished her family and friends and was blessed to have been given the family she had. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who will be dearly missed. Edna is survived by her loving daughters, Arlene (Cecil) Underhill and Isabelle (Brock) Templeton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Anne, Florence (George) and Hazel (Doug); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. FRASER, Arthur 1907 - 2008 We announce with great sadness that Arthur Fraser died peacefully on November 13, 2008 only nine days shy of his 101st birthday. He will be deeply missed by his only son, Brian, daughter-in-law, Cecile, grandchildren Tracy (Jory) and Hugh, and great-grandchildren Koby and Josten, as well as family in the UK, Ireland, and South Africa. We all knew him as a man of strong principles, a person who thought deeply about life's complexities, with a great interest in politics and history. Most importantly, he was a loving and affectionate man who cared deeply about his family and friends. And his dry sense of humour kept him (and others) in good spirits. Arthur was born in Manchester, England. Very early in life he cultivated the art of self-education. His passion for literature and the spoken word turned him into a voracious reader and crossword enthusiast throughout his life. As a young adult he developed a deep interest in Christianity, and he became a spirited and devoted lay preacher over many years. His early career took him abroad to India, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, where he met and married his wife Pat, an Irish missionary. In 1940, severe illness necessitated a move to Cape Town, South Africa. Once healed, Arthur pursued a career in accounting, which he continued into his eighties. After fifty-five happy years together, Pat died in 1995, and two years later, Arthur moved to Calgary to live with Brian and Cecile. Despite the cold winters, Arthur loved Canada, and the gentle spirit of its people. A private Memorial will be held in Calgary and a Memorial will be held in Cape Town in January. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice in his memory. MULCAHY, Mary Ida (nee Kane) Sometimes a spirit is just too big, too full of life and laughter for containment within a tired body and the need to break free wins. Such is the case for our mother, Mary Ida Mulcahy (Kane), who passed away peacefully on November 12, 2008, while a patient in the VG Site, QEII in Halifax. Molly, as she was known for most of her life, had battled heart disease for the past eight years. As matriarch of the Kane clan from Morell, P.E.I., she taught us all about strength, humour, laughter, integrity, perseverance and tenacity, as well as the need to live in the moment with an ever-hopeful eye to the future, and an understanding of the extreme importance of the past. Molly was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Joseph Mulcahy, and siblings, Imelda and James, as well as her parents, Elva and Leonard Kane. We know they are all preparing a lobster supper for her, with a dance to follow. She will love that! She leaves behind a family that mourns her, comprised of siblings, Teresa Kane, Sister Rosalia Kane, CSM, Norman Kane, all of Charlottetown; Joan (Gordon) Golding, Hamilton; Father Joseph Kane and Gemma (Terry) O’Sullivan, Ottawa; as well as nieces and nephews whom she loved and who celebrated her spirit, love of laughter and a good joke. She also leaves behind children, Maureen Hickey, her partner, Paul Bruce; son, Daniel (Tracey) and Kathleen (Richard) Jardine; as well as grandchildren, Timothy, Kyle, Nathan, Matthew, Scott, Molly Marie and the newest Who in Whoville, Joseph, who also carries the Kane name forward. We the family would like to extend thanks and condolences to Mom’s friends, who share our loss and grief. You all played such a pivotal role in her life and afforded her so much kindness during the past years. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Unit 8 at QEII Health Sciences Centre and Unit 4B in the VG Site, QEII, who were so attentive to Mom in her last weeks. There will be visitation in J.A. Snow’s Funeral Home, Windsor Street, on Monday, Nov. 17, from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Fairview, with a reception to follow in the church hall.
