Mr. Len Tintinalli January 16, 1929 - August 6, 2008 - 79 years, on August 6, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 51 years to Barbara (nee Finch). Loving father to Sarah Louise and her husband Dave Sullivan; Connie and her husband Rick Monette. Dear son of the late Antonio and Marina (nee Santin). Dear 'Pa' to David. Dear brother of Nelda Jiga, of Michigan; Ela Scott; and the late Louis. Dear brother-in-law of Louise and Patrick Shoemaker; Margaret and Jay Baxter (1995); Albert and Judy Finch; Sarah Anderson (1997); Jean and John Anderson; Ruth and Phillip Carley. Mr. Dale Robert Richardson November 16, 1961 - August 6, 2008 - It is with great sadness that we advise of the sudden and untimely passing of our son and brother, Dale. Forever loved, he leaves his mother, Mary (Grona) Richardson of Essex, sister Sharron Richardson (niece Lindsay and nephew Evan) of Mississauga, and brother Steve (Dara) Richardson of Port Colborne. Predeceased by his father Ron Richardson (Oct. 2005) and his favourite Gram, Betty Richardson (Mar. 2005) of Riverside. Sadly missed by uncle Gary Richardson, cousins Terry (Tina) and Jeff, and aunt Colleen and families; uncle Harry (Pat) Grona of Essex and families; and uncle John (Terri) Grona of Gesto and families. Dale studied Media Arts at Sheridan College in Oakville, ultimately resulting in the production of a classic car show appropriately called "Hot Pipes" on the OLN cable network this last spring which made us all very proud. Loving husband of Maris Stella (nee Murphy) for 55 years. Dear father of Brenda Forrest (Primo), Elaine McDonald (John), Mary McDonald Pavelka (Joe), Gerard McDonald (Fran), Julia Bertollo (Glenn) and Andrea Austen. Predeceased by his son David Joseph. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Alexandra, Morgane, Joshua, Kailen, Chloe, and David. The Honourable Mr Justice Hugh J. Campbell - August 6, 2008 - At the age of 65, after a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side on August 7th, 2008 at the Princess Margaret Hospital. Son of the late Hubert James Campbell (Trenton) and Edna Ruth Campbell (nee Morgan). Survived by his wife Cathy, daughters Baillie and Christina, sons Mackenzie Colin Cameron, and James. Brother to Duncan (Susan), Roderick (Sandra), Ruth Anne and Dolly (Greg). Brother-in-law to Rubina, John, Robert (Nan) Hogg, David (Valerie), Jean (Robert) Rice, Bruce and Allison (James) Toal. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Aiden, Liam, Jack, and Halle as well as his Campbell, Morgan and Hogg nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Called to the Bar, he was appointed to the Bench in 1994. Hugh spent his entire legal career in the Ministry of the Attorney General’s Crown Law Office – Criminal. He was employed as a Crown Counsel from 1979 – 1987. Senior Counsel from 1987 – 1990 and Deputy Director from 1990 until his appointment as a Provincial Division Judge. In his capacity as Deputy Director he was responsible for supervising all trial counsel in the conduct of all prosecutions and trial-related matters within the mandate of the Crown Law Office. He was also responsible for the administration of the Ontario Witness Protection Program and continued to carry a full trial caseload and advise various joint forces investigators and task forces. Hugh has been active in the community as a volunteer lecturer and guest speaker at High School career days and law classes. Prior to his appointment to the Bench, he was a regular instructor in both sections of Advocacy and Criminal Procedure for the Bar Admission Course of the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is also a founding member of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Society and drafted a comprehensive constitution, which guaranties the non-sectarian, non-political nature of that organization. His respect for the Law was honed at the knee of his uncle, the late Roderick S. Campbell Q.C. He was frequently heard to say “Imagine everyday I get to go to work doing something I absolutely love and they’re paying me!!” But of all his accomplishments he freely acknowledged that watching his 6 children and 4 grandchildren mature into successful, happy and responsible parents and citizens was as he said his raison d’être. He has left a legacy that will be remembered by everyone who knew him and we his family will continue to carry it within the family motto…“ne obliviscaris” (never forget). Mr. David William Garson February 16, 1962 - August 7, 2008 - We remember David Garson who passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2008 in Prince Albert at the age of 46 years. A private family service will be held. David is survived by he loving family: his mother Margaret; brothers Terry, Ken and Wayne; sisters Linda and Roberta; his soul mate Violet (Bugs); cuz and cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and friends he thought of as family. Mrs. Anne Pearl Bates - August 7, 2008 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Bates of Holbein, Saskatchewan. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by her family, on August 7, 2008 at City Hospital in Saskatoon. Anne is survived by her two sons Gerald (Beryl) of Saskatoon and Alf (Joan) of Prince Albert; her five grandchildren Kevin (Sharon) Bates, Melissa (Trent) Fletcher, Scott (Joanna) Bates, Jennifer Bates and Evan Bates; her five great-grandchildren and many family members in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was loved by her grandchildren, who spent many happy hours at the farm with their Grandma and Grandpa. Her greatest pride, besides the grandchildren, was cooking, tending her large gardens and growing flowers. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred in 1996, her sister Anna Zayets and her two brothers George and William Lysak all of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mr. Frank R. Kennedy November 8, 1945 - August 8, 2008 - KENNEDY, Frank R. – Age 62, of Halifax, passed away August 8, 2008, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Raymond and Mary (Goodhew) Kennedy. Frank was dedicated worker who loved working at the CBC for 30 years and Convergys for 10 years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf, travel, friends, his grandson and his cats. Frank was a kind and helpful person to all. He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Patricia “Dan”; daughter, Barbara (Joe) Geizer; grandson, Gavin; aunt, Ella Goodhew and several nieces and nephews. Ms. Catherine "Gladys" Wilson September 10, 1914 - August 8, 2008 - Catherine Gladys Wilson of Villa Providence, Shediac, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8th 2008. Born in Albert Co., NB, to the late Ora and Dora (Cole) Wilson. She is survived by two nieces; Phyllis (Ulysses) Dupuis and Dora Haines, four nephews; Ken (June) Crossman, Charles (Teddy) Crossman, Burton (Gerri) Crossman, Robert (Corinne) Crossman and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two half sisters and one half brother. Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her sister, Enid Crossman and her brother-in-law, Willard. Mr. Henry Orenstein January 13, 1918 - August 8, 2008 - ORENSTEIN, Henry - 1918-2008. 90, of Halifax, passed away quietly and peacefully, holding the hand of his wife of 62 years, Henry died of natural causes on August 8, 2008. Henry was an artist; an animator, a husband; father; grandfather; teacher; a gentleman; an activist; a soldier and a pacifist. Born in Midland, Ont., he grew up in Toronto where he developed his lifelong interest in politics and human rights. He fought as a foot soldier in the Second World War as a young man, an experience that cemented his pacifism. It was during the war that he met and married his wife Joan. They were immediate kindred spirits. After the war, Henry studied painting at the Art Students League of New York, later returning to Toronto to paint and start a family. Moving to Halifax in the 50s, Henry started at the CBC as a graphic designer, where he worked for 25 years. He also taught animation and drawing at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. All this time he raised a family, pursued his own painting and was an active member of the Halifax's arts community. Henry has works included in private and public collections across the country including the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Sudbury Art Gallery. His quiet strength and insights have been an inspiration to many students and friends. He lived his many years devoted to the belief of love, kindness and humanity. He is greatly missed by his wife, Joan; daughters, Jill (Howard Storey), Edie (Richard Vallee), both of Vancouver, BC; Cia (John Tweel), Halifax; Ruth (Hans Boggild), Halifax; Sarah (Ric Waugh), Toronto; grandchildren Nicholas, Issac, Kai, Elliot and Jonah. Douglas MacKay Campbell May 30, 1921 - August 10, 2008 - Douglas (Doug) McKay Campbell passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the age of 87. He was pre-deceased by his wife of sixty years, Helen, in 2007 and brother in law George Hegan in 2006. He is survived by his eight children; Kathryn Campbell, Janet Campbell, Sandy (Scott) Gordon, Shirley Ford, Bob (Deby), Bill (Angie), Ian (Wendy) and Gordon; his sister Kathryn Hegan; 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. After spending most of his high school in Moose Jaw, he graduated from Swift Current at which point he started his career in banking. He was initially with the Royal Bank in numerous locations across Southern Saskatchewan, and then to the Credit Society and Credit Union from 1948 until his retirement in 1982 having worked in Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert. His career was interrupted by the Second World War when he enlisted in the air force. It was during this time that he met the one and only true love of his life and they were married in 1946. The new couple continued moving with Dad’s career, settling in Saskatoon in 1949. Shortly after they purchased a cabin at Pike Lake where the family enjoyed many carefree summers and after periods in Regina and Prince Albert, it was there they spent most of their retirement years. Dad enjoyed life, be it activities such as curling, golf and playing bridge with his many friends; and contributing to his community. In addition to local interests, he served on the boards of numerous local co-ops including nine years for the Saskatoon Co-op association, as well as the boards of the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, where he was president the year they built the "new " rink, and the Tartan Curling Club in Regina. Never ones to shy away from adventure, Mom & Dad enjoyed traveling and they endeavored to take us on a trip every year; from fishing in Northern Saskatchewan to Expo 67 in Montreal. They continued this tradition with their grandchildren taking most of them to various points across Canada and the United States. Dad had a long and healthy retirement; he continued curling for many years and he and Mom traveled to the Caribbean as well as to Europe four times to see the world curling championships. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but our loss is tempered by the knowledge he has been reunited with his dear Helen. The family wishes to express their thanks to Majid, Sorush and the staff of the Northern Lights care home, and the doctors and nurses at St. Paul’s Hospital for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Saskatoon City Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway crossing). Mrs. Kathleen Margaret McGregor (nee Robertson) August 9, 1918 - August 13, 2008 - On Wednesday, August 13, 2008, Kathleen went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Kathleen will be remembered for her generous and caring spirit. For 30 years, her Windsor Park home was always open to international students attending the University of Alberta. She loved playing hymns on the piano and she actively shared her gift of music wherever she went. Left to mourn her loss are her children and grandchildren: Jim McGregor, Jamie & Amanda (Victoria, B.C.); Rob McGregor (Edmonton); Mary Picard (Norm), Ed & Suzie (Edmonton); Heather Halee, (Bart), Blaine & Jill (Duncan, B.C.); and daughter-in-law, Joy McGregor (Wagga Wagga, Australia). Kathleen was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Nesbitt (Mac) McGregor, her eldest son, Malcolm, and her youngest grandchild, Jordan. At Kathleen’s request, a small family memorial and burial has taken place. Mr. Harold R. Lewis April 7, 1942 - August 14, 2008 - Harold Lewis passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, August 14th, 2008. He was the son of Ethel (Hope) and the late Philip Lewis. Harold retired from the Department of Health with 36 years of service. Survived by his wife of 45 years Barbara-Anne (Williams) Lewis, daughter Lorri-Anne (Kevin) Lewis, sons William (Vanessa) Lewis, Stevan (Kristen) Lewis, sisters; Joyce (John) Barker, Brenda Lewis, Debbie (Everett) Shea, grandchildren Erika, Ryan, Logan, Julia, Megan, 2 step grandchildren Matthew, Makayla and several neices. In addition to his father he was predeceased by his granddaughter Cailin Anne Crandall and nephew Jeremy Purdy. In keeping with Harold's wishes there will be no visitation. Mr Scott Lloyd Letourneau June 10, 1988 - August 14, 2008 - Scott Lloyd (Red) was born on June 10, 1988 in Regina, SK and passed away tragically on Thursday August 14, 2008. He was predeceased by his grandparents Robert and Shirley Letourneau and step-grandfather Bob Sediman. Scott is survived by his parents Darla (Keith) Cinnamon and Dan Letourneau; brother Shawn (Lois Laube); grandparents Lloyd and Bernice Moon; step-grandmother Lois Sediman; his fiancé Chelsa Reil and her son Jason; uncle Terry (Judy) Moon; aunts Darcy (Doug) Anderson, Dawn (Larry) Wereschuk, Paula (Howie) Letourneau , Sheila (Paul) Nikiforuk and Pauline (Chris) Olsen; as well as extended family and friends. Scott was always there with a smile, he could bring a smile to those around him; he always made people laugh and was there with a hug in a time of need. Scott graduated from Cochrane High School and was very happy to have a job at Jays Transport in the apprenticeship program as a Heavy Duty mechanic. He excelled in many sports, from baseball, hockey, swimming, diving and tae-kwon-do. He also enjoyed riding his BMX bike and skateboarding, forever trying a new stunt of some sort. M/Cpl Ret’d Ralph Leski June 19, 1963 - August 14, 2008 - Ralph Leski (M/Cpl Ret’d) June 19, 1963 ~ May 21, 2008 Ralph was born in Koerbecke, Germany, in 1963, and died suddenly in Kingston, Ontario on May 21st. Beloved son of Sylvia Firneis of Sherwood Park, Alberta, and John Leski of Duncan, BC. Brother to Angela Leski of Shellbrook, SK. Ralph grew up on Vancouver Island and joined the Reserves in 1980. He went on to serve in the Regular Forces from 1982 until 2001, first as a Radio Technician and from 2000, as a Land Communication Information Technician. His postings included: CFS Holberg, BC; Aerospace Maintenance in Trenton, ON; 743 Comm Sqn in Penhold, AB; 79 Comm Regt in Ottawa and Kingston, ON; 763 (Ottawa) and 706 Comm Sqn in Borden, ON. Ralph was known for his exceptional technical and organizational skills and his tenacious work ethic. During his career, he served on many humanitarian and peace keeping missions. He was awarded the United Nations medal for service in Nambia in 1990, the NATO Medal for service with NATO on operations in relation to the former Yugoslavia in 1998, and the Special Services Medal with HUMANITAS Bar in recognition of service in Rwanda in 1996. In 2002, Ralph received the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal for his contribution to international peacekeeping. Ralph possessed the ability to fix almost anything electronic. His analytical, witty conversational style, and his sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service was held at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Sherwood Park, Alberta on September 27, 2008. Donations in memory of Ralph may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or to Asperger’s research.
